Windows xp on forgotten password log

Help please: my daughter just bought a mini computer compaq and a (against my advice!), put a password on his account, login and now don't remember his password! Does anyone know how to get past so we can remove the password and it can reconnect. I tried the F8 key several times as suggested but don't send me to any other menu!

Thanyou but I have sorted it - don't know how but I managed to guess his password after 4 hours to guess! shows how it is easy to guess passwpords if a MOM who knows nothing about computers can do!

    Hello

I realize that this may indeed be extremely stressful, however I am sure that the two links I gave in my previous posts are not risky anyway--sometimes security software will report on sites that provide this type of software as a security problem because of the nature of the involved software , because it basically allows you to remove a valid password (which may be completely innocent reasons as in your case, but can also be used by someone trying to hack another persons account).

There is another list of this type of password here. recovery software although n ° 2 (which I've already linked to is one of the most successful).

Please let me know if you have additional questions in this regard.

How can I reset my forgotten administrator password for Windows 7, without a password reset disk?

There are a lot of options built into Windows to help you out of this situation:
    • Restart the computer with your Windows repair CD, then use system restore to set Windows in a few days (only works if you have recently changed the password).
    • Log on to your account admin to spare, and then reset the password for your existing account (works only if you set up an alternative admin account).
    • Log in as administrator mode without failure, then reset the password for your existing account (the password is usually empty).
    • Use the password indicator (only works if an indicator was created and if it's good enough to allow you to guess the password)
    • Check your paper files (works only if you threw down the password somewhere)

    Hey cinpul330

You cannot use recovery CD to reset your password

you need to reinstall vista using these cds you did

boot from the first cd and follow the instructions to reinstall vista

Additionally, you may not get help in these forums to retrieve your forgotten password because it is against the policy of microsoft to do

  • Forgotten password - no disc reset

I have Windows XP Home Edition and I forgot my password of the administrator account.  I have no other admin account set up.  Will my password be reset if I do a system restore?  I hate to do anything that shuts down the computer because I'm afraid of not being able to get on it again.  Terribly afraid to try to start the system in safe mode as suggested someone... Help, please!

To do a system restore, you must be logged in as an administrator.  When you do so, it will restore password to the State they were when the backup is restored.  If you arrive to be currently logged in as an administrator and have forgotten the password, you can reset it as shown here:

'Forgotten your Windows XP Home password? "- Part 3: define a new password as an administrator.

What to do if you forget your Windows password

If you have forgotten your Windows password and you are on a domain, you must contact your system administrator to reset your password. If you are on a working group (the majority of individuals are on a working group), you can reset your password by using a reset disk of password or by using an administrator account.

  • Autologin fault after the forgotten password Action

    Hello

We have (11.1.2.2.4) IOM / OAM (11.1.2.2.5)/OUD(11.1.2.2.1) integrated. We have made the management of users and password management use case implementation.

After the forgotten password action, the user should ideally be auto connected to the resource to which they want to access. But here, they're trying to autologin, we get no answer which records the time that we are witnessing a thread blocked in IOM. Please find the attached log. Its showing IOM tries to do automatic login and his breaks down.

Now these blocked thread are at the origin of the problem to the server of the IOM. Can you please let us know how to fix the automatic connection failure. This error we get now on pre-production and prod env.

We already checked Doc-ID 1554741.1 and it did not help.
