Wireless HP 6500 not print / scan to Macbook

There are several discussions about Mac and 6500's. I tried everything I think, but who knows if the order is important?

I rubbed, reset, restarted and even cried a little looking for the magic to get a 6500 wireless print and scan from / to a MacBook Pro OS X 10.6.8 fully patched.

I rubbed the HP software. I reset my router. I did the SSID lowercase. The printer has a dedicated IP address. I checked that the printer did not appear in the list of standard drivers OS X 10.6. I was unable to connect via wireless installation of HP by IP/connection program as it could not detect it. I've been able to connect to the printer via IP page and could he ping, but Setup HP (selection by IP) would not see it. I then connected via USB to get the drivers installed and configured.

Once it was installed, it does see the printer via USB but not wireless. I tried to print via USB and it did not work. The error is that the network host 'xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx' is busy. I tried using the wireless and got the same error.

The printer works from IBM (XP), Dell (XP) and laptop computers wireless HP (W7) and cable 3 PC (XP, XP, W7).

Looking forward to this ad nauseum troubleshooting!

Thank you.

You can speak to netgear,

Replace the WPA 128bits encryption

Open port 9100 TCP and UDP

Make sure that the multicast filter is enabled

Have them check for any firewall that can be activated.

It seems that we just a matter of simple port is blocked, so I would have them check first port 9100.

  • Photosmart 6520: HP Photosmart printer will scan wireless but do not print wireless

Two days ago my HP printer suddenly stopped printing wireless.  My MacBook says "could not find the printer.  I can scan wireless from my macbook to my printer but when I print wireless it can't find it.  My internet has not changed, the router has not changed, rather than my printer and the laptop has not changed.  So, what might be the problem.  I can type the IP address of printers in my address bar on my laptop and access the printer and do print and scan but just can't do when I'm in a document and select 'print '.  Any ideas?

    Hi @Booseebean,

Thanks for joining the Forums of HP Support for a solution to your printing problem.

I understand that you use a Photosmart HP 6520 e-all-in-one printer with a Mac OS X 10.11 El Capitan computer and you are unable to print because the MacBook says "could not locate the printer", even if you are able to scan wireless. I would like to help with that.

The steps in this document of support should be able to help - "printer offline" or "printer not responding" Message (OS X).

Please let me know if that solves the problem, or if you need assistance.

  • 7525 photosmart all-in-one: printer says wireless, but do not print

We moved our headquarters to a new location in the House. After you reconnect all devices, the printer seems to work (in his view).  Network test results "spent." When I opened a doc and tried to print, it would not, telling me printer was not in the network. Enter new password for ISP provider crossed wireless configuration. Still not printing.

I uninstalled and reinstalled the printer. Still will not print. I disabled Norton Internet Security where he was blocking the process. I downloaded Team Viewer so that my son could see if he could help me, but couldn't connect to it to use it. I tried to download HPPrint and doctor to Scan, but it will not download. Any ideas?

    Hi there @MI_OHlady.

    Welcome to the forums

I understand that you have moved your location of printers and it is not printing via wireless network.

You mentioned that the print and Scan Doctor will not download, and this could be a problem on the computer or with the internet connection. Could try to use another web browser and try to download and run the printing and scanning Dr. again? I would like to know what are the results of the tool.

Also, try to make copies of the front of the printer and let me know if they work, or if you see errors.

I hope to hear from you

  • HP Envy 110 is not printing/scanning after new driver for OSX Maverick

Installed the new driver for the operating system MAC OSX 10.9.4.  After installation, I can not print or scan wireless even if the screen of the printer indicates that it is connected to the network from my computer.

When you try to print, repeatedly get an error message "Cannot find printer.   Strangely, if I turn printer on, and besides, the page is printed.  This continues to happen whenever I try to print.

In addition, I can scan only the computer.  If I try to scan directly from the printer, I get the following error message: "make sure that your HP printer software is installed.

I have installed and reinstalled the new driver several times to nothing does not.  I also rebooted both my computer and my network without success.

Does anyone else have this problem?

    Hi Melnee ,

What you have described, it is clear that a disconnect occurs on the side of the router, maybe a problem with the ports.  I recommend you only to contact the manufacturer of your router, as to resolve any problems that occur in the router.

    Please hold me.

  • J4680 are visible on the network but not printing/scanning

Everything I describe works very well for 2 years...

The J4680 is/has been connected wireless to my home network.

My daughter printed something and it came out blurry.  I tried to copy something to see if it was the printer and it came out very well so I did a calibration using the Tools menu of the printer.  The printer print the calibration page, but he complained that he couldn't find a calibration page when the time came to do the scan of the calibration page.  Yet once, I tried to use it as a copier and it works perfectly.  Since then, I can't print or scan to this printer on any computer in the House.  Client computers run a mix of XP, Vista and Win7.  HP Diagnostics (in the plural) I have downloaded all show the connected printer and works correctly, but still no printing.

I connect to my router and you can see the printer connected as a DHCP client using 192.168.15.1.  I can open a browser, connect to this IP address and have access to the printer.  He sees the ink level and shows the status of the printer such as "processing job".  Open HP Solution Center shows the printer as "offline".

I rebooted the printer and all the computers in the House... not to go. I restarted the router... no go.

I reinstalled the software solution Center and it is printed once, but when I tried to scan, it does not and it was not printed or scanned again since.  I tried doing the calibration thing and still get the same message.

I'm at my wit's end.  Help?

OK, let's remove the cartridges, clean the electrical contacts (small 1/16 "points on the cartridge and corresponding to those inside the printer.  Use a damp lint.  The fabric will be destroyed with ink.

Now, try it.  If who disobeys, the driver on your computer using "clean cartridges".  If this does not work, you may have a faulty cartridge (probably color).

My Officejet 6500 will not print. It is in an error state. I loaded the new driver, uninstalled and installed the printer. He was going well until I installed Windows 10.  Someone at - it ideas?

Well, this should allow you to print:

    1. If the printer is connected via a USB cable, remove it.
    2. Close any programs you have open.
    3. In your search type in printers bar and open devices and printers.
    4. Right click on all the icons in your printer listed.
    5. Click on remove the instrument.
    6. Repeat for all other icons of your printer listed.
    7. In your type of Services Research and open Component Services.
    8. On the left, click Services (Local).
    9. On the right, do a right-click on print spooler.
    10. Click on stop.
    11. Open your drive C:\, then Windows, System 32, coil, and printers.
    12. Delete everything in this folder.
    13. Return to the Component Services window.
    14. Right-click on print spooler.
    15. Click Start.

Now, if you removed the USB cable, plug it. If this is not the case, go back to the devices and printers and click Add printer to add a new queue for your printer.

  • OfficeJet 6500 not print black... again

Still, my Officejet 6500 tr does not print in black except for a word document that I have on my desk. It happened after I exchanged the cartridtges of three colors. I did the reset partial and I removed and re-installed all the cartridges and still NOTHING except for the word document.

I really can not kept wasting time like this. HP come with a fix or I will go to another manufacturer.

I can NOT KEEP LOOSING TIME LIKE THAT.

I'm happy to help you and I really hope that I can get to a quick solution for you.  Now that I know that the document above did not work, I'm almost certain that this is a problem with the print head because you found on all cartridges exclamation points, and your response, it seems to happen a lot.  This print head is expensive and hard to find, so here's what seems to work for everyone...

    -Black ink does not.

I generally do not offer soaking the print head immediately, not without some certainty.  In your case, it seems that this is the time.  I could offer document after document but I have a good feeling, that's where it will end anyway, and no more time should be wasted. You have more important to worry about (like your home) functions.  Try the steps listed above in the Bob_headrick method, and I really hope that it works.  I still have to read where it made things worse, but keep that in mind please. User discretion is advised with any unconventional method.

If you find yourself always with remnants of ink, keep it in a ziplock bag so it won't leak or evaporate and I hear that you can store it in the freezer if you need to save it for later. And let me know how it goes!

  • 6500 not print, ejecting just blank pages

The 6500 it's print-no errors, but only blank pages come out.  Watch print preview also just a blank page.  All inks are full, then, really, don't think it's printer since preview before print empty watch.  Any ideas?

Experimentation-changed (grey print) black to print all colors and pages came out with just the part of printed color, so obviously the question is the black ink cartridge, but preview how print also shows it blank if only the black ink used?  I tried 3 different applications.

The 6500 is not printing in black ink and it has no alignment of the printhead several times.  There are no errors.  I watched a lot of suggestions on different forums and none seemed to work for everyone.

After much experimenting, I'm not sure of what went around, or if it is a combo of what I tried, but it finally works.

    Here's what I did:

-wind cleaned on black ink cartridge.  The State of the computer ink isn't the real situation; need to go to the printer printer status report, and mine showed the black cartridge empty, even if it was new and full.  I guess this caused ink status report print preview to display a blank page to print.

-removed all cartridges and then went out the door-cartridge (right lever) and cleaned all the goop and ink variances using water and a soft cloth

-clean all the points of connection to the black ink cartridge

-still didn't work so partial reset (shot taken and shut off the power and then after 20 seconds, holding the key # and 3 keys on the printer and no power to the top.)  Still no go; always attack has no alignment; test pages would print color only

d ' ran computer print head clean utility and after that, chose the command 'second clean print head ".

    - AND IT WORKED. !!!

I used about a quarter of the ink in the cartridges of color do all the tests, etc.

    Good luck to all.

  • HP Photosmart c309a network wireless radio does not. printer no longer sees (network)

My Photosmart c309a printer is not ALL networks.

    -using the windows Vista

-four portable wireless maintain excellent connections to the home network

    -a the recent failure of electricity, but all computers domestic mobile re-login to the network;

    -a ran HP wireless network Test Report which shows wireless "On", but "The FAILURE" of wireless work;

-diagnostic report also shows wireless radio does not. and I have to contact HP support.

So far, I took the following measures:

-stop the entire network (Linksys router)

-unplugged and replugged the printer and router

    -set factory default printer

-all I can think (but go ballistic)

I have a similar problem, except that my 309 a link but if it is idle for a few moments he log out and have to stop and reconnected or reset using the configuration menu.  Contact with HP said that HP is aware of the problem but that he has no intention to post a fix and the problem is inherent in most of their printers...  Techrep indicated that the best solution to get a new printer.  I recently bought a Canon all-in-one and it works as advertised.  I always use my HP in a wireless mode, but you need to restart after each impression if more that a few short minutes between printing.  Sorry I'm no help, but just passing on what HP says about this printer.

  • HP officejet 6500 not print black ink

Have already used twice tools to check/fix printhead etc. and check all colors except black.  Of course now the colors are low because of controls but Black Watch 2/3 full.  Suffered the underside of the black print cartridge and has still not printing.

There may be something clogging the printhead.  Do mechanical print head cleaning and check the ventilation on the cartridges, as indicated in this document.  If the wind seems correct, and cleaning do not receive black printing as it should, then you have to move to make a physical cleaning of the print head.  Bob_Headrick was kind enough to show the steps of this message.  After the physical cleaning you wish to still not able to get a black printing, then you will either need to buy a new printhead, or buy a new printer.  This printer print head is not all that expensive compared to the other models, but you can only buy it directly from HP.  I'll link the information to get in touch with them below. The link takes you to a form to fill out. Once you fill it and she is treated, it will give you the printers warranty information, a file number and the phone number to call.
