Workstation HP Z420: Z420 Workstation troubleshooting in Windows Installer

Dear expert HP,

Thank you for your time

I need advice to install windows 7 Ultimate x 64 on HP z420 workstation . I tried many things, but a mistake ((no driver device not found)) is always indicated.

Like the attached photo.

Do things that I have

-RAID + sata to IDE mode AHCI passant... which is my only option

-change the sata IDE compatible mode to improve

-Disabling EFI boot Sources

-Disabling the boot legacy sources.

These measures all lead go me, i.e. no device driver were found. my best shot the installation continue but without a hard drive display for format or delete.

All boards

Thank you

If you have more than 1 drive in your system, and you have RAID + AHCI set, you will probably need to jump in the raid BIOS controller at startup time (by pressing 'CTRL C' if I remember correctly) and define a virtual disk or VD (who can erase existing data, it should be notified).

Then when windows install loads, you will see the virtual disk that you created earlier and can thus select the VD for the installation to continue. This assumes that the installation media contains the drivers for the raid (chipset) which I think is the case.

If the installation disc doesn't have the required raid (chipset) drivers, then you will need to place them on a USB stick and point the installation using F8, how you see your VD and can continue with the installation.

If all this seems too, you can delete everything except a HARD drive and then RAID function will be irrelevant, because it will fall back on simple AHCI. If you still don't see the only HARD drive, try and add the chipset drivers using the F8 method.

I had similar problems on my Z210 and solved by using the default settings of the BIOS firmware, then created a VD and finally put Intels RST, pilot specifically the F8 on a USB key and during the installation of Windows process rush F * and singled out the USB where the driver saw and loaded at this time here my VD was visible so that everything could continue.

You should be able to run W7 64-bit on your PC, since Vista business is the operating system recommended by HP. normally if a PC can run Vista, it can work in W7.

  • Windows Installer / Installshield corrupted on W2k3?

    Greetings,

At a customer's site is a Windows Server 2003 R2, without Active Directory box, mostly as a file server for the workstations with the exception of multi-user 2011 Peachtree, which is accessible by three remote users that RDP to the server and not always at the same time.

The customer asked us to step of the updated 2011 of Peachtree with Sage 50 Premium 2013, but the Suppression 'applications', the program seems to have stopped progressing.  We have finished the process of facility after thirty minutes, restarted the server and called technical support for Sage.  They suspected a bad CD, so we sent to the download.  Same thing.  This time we tried to uninstall Peachtree 2011 before installing Sage 50, only to receive a "Error 1628'.  Research on this error led us to clear the registry entries that indicate a current installation to run.  Yet once the server has rebooted.  We called Sage back support - they suspected that the Installshield engine was damaged, but was beyond their ability to support.

Installation of sage 50 remained suspended at the same stage, Peachtree 2011 would not uninstall, so I tried to clean it with Revo Uninstaller, remove two entries of the program using MSI cleanup and rebuild the engine Installshield version 10.5 - the Sage 50 uses during the installation.  Even the repair of Installshield utility hung during installation.

Does anyone have suggestions on reclamation a failed database of Windows Installer or Installshield engine, so sloppy that even the tools to fix do not work?

    Hello

I tried to update my laptop Win8 to Win10, but before that Win 8 must be upgraded to Win8.1 then Win10. Unfortunately, I encountered the problem after you install the free upgrade to WIn10.

I inserted the USB key, but it seems that its not reading. I tried F2 - mode of the system, but it only shows the Bios and other tests not the usual display of F2.  I haven't tried F11 and same thing no chance.

My question is, how do I make my laptop back to the operating mode as the way to reinstall the entire operating system and HP Recovery Manager or HP configurations.

Do I need to buy a CD of HP recovery my laptop?

  • The Windows Installer can't find hips_cc.msi

When I log on my Win XP PC Windows install comes up that tries to install a program in non-descript and says that it can't find hips_cc.msi

I'm trying to cancel it, but in the habit of Cancel. In the meantime, XP starts and seems to work OK until I'm going to install a program. When I do this Setup program Windows said I can't install it because another installation is in progress and complete the installation and restart the installation again later. I can't because I can't access through my office windows installer. Then when I go to shut down my PC, it used to close because Windows Installer is still looking for this bloody file! hips_ss.msi!

I hope you can come up with an answer to save me to do a complete reinstallation of Windows

    Hi Doug,.

I'm sorry to know you face issues with your computer. Your description, it seems like you get a hips_cc.msi error when you log on to your Windows XP computer.

This file seems related to the CA antivirus program. You have this program installed on your computer?

If so, the program works is perhaps not as expected. I suggest that you even uninstall it and reinstall it. You can also contact CA support for the same thing.

See also this article on how to uninstall a program from your computer.

If it does not, then answer with the State for we can help you troubleshoot further.
