  (1) I can't find what model number, my laptop is so I can understand that downloads to download off the hp drivers and software update and I tried this auto finder without any results. It is a Pavilion dv6, I was sure the model number was dv6 - 3143sa, but when I look for what happens with 3 other option dv6 - 3143ca, dv6-3143 cl - and dv6 - 3143us. which of them should I use?

  Also, I noticed there was an update of Bios HP system UEFI, some body can tell me if this will allow my laptop to initialize in 5/10 seconds? I read some stuff on the bios of the summer replaced with new UEFI which allow the faster start-up times and I was wondering if it is the same no? If not someone can tell me what makes this update for my bios and it is better to install?

  I bought this laptop from a friend (have receipt) who sell it to me because the screen was cracked and spidered all out when you the activated. And everywhere he went to ask to get the screen fixed it is very expensive ($250 - $350) and he said that it would be just a newer laptop. So he sold me this which is a model Probook of HP4420s XT940UT #ABA. About a week after I bought this Probook friend who sold it to died me suddenly. It was sudden and terrible. Some time later, I had the time of the purchase of the LCD for this model, replace it myself (was very easy actually) and booted up the laptop with a new installation of Windows 7 Professional 64-bit Edition. After installing all my software and using the laptop for a while now, I wanted to get into the Bios that I've never done. So when I started the laptop, click ESC, then F10 to enter the BIOS, there were two places to enter a password is different then all Dell I've ever owned. One was mine I guees I put in place using HP protect tools and the other says BIOS/administrator. Well I can do most of the changes with the one I put in place with my password but my password does not work, nor can I get in some very significant changes that I wanted to do using Bios/administrator, as kindling the LoJack, namely the blocking of the hard drive etc. , turning on turbo boost, fan, etc. Well, since the person I bought is no longer with us, there is no one to turn to the answer to this question of administrator/BIOS password / problem.  I tried to take battery Rtype and restore that way, didn't work. Several times, I called HP and they sent me to a BIOS page to download the same BIOS, I have already, would not let me install it. When I bring up the command prompt and do not put anything in BiosConfigureUtility.exe happens, said just a wrong command. When I try to enter the BIOS through the C: file in the files of the SSM, I reach the BiosConfigUtility.exe file, click on it to open it and it just flashes a way small order page to fast to read what it says. I would like to have complete control over my laptop thinking I have a lot of time and money invested in it now. I really like this Probook and have since become a big fan of most HP, Dell and Lenovo.  I intend to buy two probooks, one for my wife and one for my daughter because this one is like a MacBook, but better.  Thank you for reading this and I hope someone can help with more than one answer then GET AHOLD OF HP TECHNICAL TEAM. As I said, I did it.

  Sorry to hear about your friend and your problem.  The BIOS password cannot be reset without the help of HP.  They will need some information from your PC and increase your case.  I recommend you give them a call.

  It's very embarrassing, but I can't seem to find the option to enable / disable bluetooth in the bios again.  When I arrived at my Thinkpad T500, it has been activated permanently under Linux and I could not turn off without turning off WiFi as well, so I disabled it in the bios.

  But now I can't find the setting to reactivate it now that I own a bluetooth travel mouse.  I dug through each submenu, but this is a no go.  Can someone tell me where the option to enable / disable the blue tooth is in the bios of the main bios screen?

  I followed this chain of logic:

  -Downloaded the bios (2.35 is the one that worked for me)
  -Find the exe file in the winflash file.
  -Extract the files in archive exe using the 7-Zip program
  -Find the .fd file and rename it to JM41X64. FD (I read in a forum was unique in my laptop)
  -Copied JM41X64. FD and FLASH it is. EXE on a USB
  -A the battery and the hard drive out.
  -With its trendy diet I supported Fn + Esc and that you press the power button once while ensuring that the Fn + Esc has been always held down.
  -J' waited 6 seconds and release the Fn + Esc and seen the flashing flash player
  -After about 10 minutes, restarted the machine and the bios as like new.

  Later, I found that there was a hard drive problem.

  I want you guys should help more. All I needed was the name of the JM41X64 file. FD and you don't know how many hours I put into trying to find how simpy bios flash. It is not that difficult for someone with a b.s. in computer science to learn how. Couldn't we a m.s. back b/c the bios drive was messed up. F12 didn't work.
