Yoga 3 '14 fails expanded video memory Test

Product number: 80JH

Series number:

BIOS: BACN95WW

Lenovo Solution Center is saying that this thing has not. The error code is WVC00R008-UK7VUG. Anyone know what this means?

Lenovo Support Center's think Lenovo partition is still on the SSD, even if I had Windows will also, dismantling it.

Mod edit: serial number deleted to protect the owner from unwanted use.

NVIDIA has recently published an updated for the chip installed driver. I installed the new driver, and ran the test again. Guess that's what the problem has been all along. Here is a link to a picture of the results of the tests.

  • Problems of artefact and video memory XPS 1710

My XPS M1710 has been giving me some trouble at the end.

I have some video artifacts: scattered multicolored on-screen points as soon as BIOS starts through Win XP and Ubuntu desktop computers. Also get random garbled multicolor text in command prompt console modes, BIOS, diagnosis and recovery. Points appear from the moment wherever my BIOS start, always in the same places, and increase in number as the system warms. This seems to be a clear sign of damage to the video memory.

My hard drive also shows signs of damage: became an unmountable boot volume error. After running chkdsk partial (stopped at Midway after he had run 12 hours) and fixboot + fixmbr commands in the recovery console, I was able to boot win XP Pro again. But after a day of work, I got the blue screen with an error ntfs.sys. Now its been ntfs BSOD every time I start. CHKDSK now tells me that there is a fatal buffer on the hard drive, and I can't reinstall windows (ntfs format is freezing at 68%).

My BIOS diagnostics said a few defective stamps on one of my RAM cards as well as on my hard drive. The diagnosis is also showing errors on the video memory test.

My vid card is 256 MB geforce GO 7900 GS. I know the vid card also uses some of the main RAM (shared memory).

I'm trying to figure out if the problem of video artifacts is due only to either damaged dedicated video memory or cause the main RAM / hard drive. Did the diagnostic test video memory for the memory on the video card itself?

I know with certainty that one of the cards computer RAM is faulty: after removing the MEAC diagnosis clear memory for the other RAM card. But even with removed faulty RAM memory, video objects are still there and the diagnosis is still showing a video memory error. Logically, which seems to mean that the memory on the video card is partially fried as well. Am I correct to infer from this?

would appreciate any pointers. Replacement of the HD and RAM is relatively expensive, but having to replace the graphics card on a XPS is pretty hefty ($299 second hand)... Although the graphics card could wait until I have save little money, since points are not that huge a problem yet.

  • Pavilion Memory Test failed., ID 64W662-5066J2-XD7XGK-400V03 failure

Crash... The BIOS memory test passes, but the HP Diagnostic memory test fails with the ID 64W662-5066J2-XD7XGK-400V03 failure.  Product ID VM298UA #ABA.  Any ideas?

    Hello

    Try the following.

First, download the Memtest Image file (.) (ISO) on the following link.

    http://www.memtest.org/download/4.20/Memtest86+-4.20.ISO.zip

It is a zipped file, if you do not have an extraction utility installed, download and install 7-Zip.  Please note that If you have a 64-bit installation, download and install the Installer x 64 64-bit .msi on the link below.

    http://www.7-zip.org/

Then, right-click on the zipped file, select Extract 7 - Zip, select the files and then click Ok.  Open the newly extracted folder to find the Memtest Image.

Now, you will need to use an application like ImgBurn to burn the ISO correctly on a blank CD - a guide on the use of ImgBurn to write that an ISO on a disc is here.

When you created the CD, shut down the laptop.  Tap the escape key when you rewind to enter the Boot Menu.  Insert the Memtest CD.  Select 'Options of Boot' (usually f9), use the arrow keys to select the CD/DVD drive and press ENTER to boot from the disc.

At least 3-4 passes and see if errors are found.

    Kind regards

  • How to increase the video memory on the 900 yoga?

Hello just curious if anyone knows how I can increase the video memory on my new yoga 900. I looked at the bios screen, and I don't see an option to change it. Thanks in advance.

Good day and welcome to the community.

The amount of memory used by the integrated video controller depends on the total system memory, and is controlled system (vs user).

    Hope this helps to clarify.

Remove a RAM and run a test at the same time, if the test fails on both the RAM. You will need to replace both. If this is not the case, replace the one that fails the tests of RAM.

    Replace the memory module.

Contact HP with the failure code. They will do it for free if you are under warranty.

If not, get a 4 GB key with exactly the same configuration, speed, etc. as shown in the manual. Crucial, Kingston are good brands that have their own online scanner, which contains the list guaranteed compatible sticks.

  • Memory test tool

Using my Vista 64-bit dvd recovery tools section I ran the test of memory. When the computer reboots, it went through the test, but at the end it starts just the test everywhere after the third time I restarted the pc, he went to the same point and started again the memory test, I checked the settings and the memory test is configured to only run two times but he wears only whenever he finnishes it again. Can someone tell me how to stop it?

    Hello

Have you successfully completed the diagnostic test memory over WinRE (Windows Recovery Environment)?
What was the result of the analysis?

Start the scan memory as an administrator.
    1. click on start, type memory diagnostics tool in the search for text box, right-click on it and click Run as administrator.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type the password, or click on continue.
    2. click on restart now and check for problems or check the problems the next time I start my computer.

Understand the results of the Diagnostic tool memory:
If memory diagnostics tool ends the first pass and no error, your RAM is working no doubt. You can still run the diagnostic tool memory several times using the same settings to ensure that the Diagnostic tool memory cannot find any errors with your RAM. If you want to test your RAM more completely, you can run the test suite expanded by pressing T during the Memory Diagnostic tool is running. You should run for several hours and then Memory Diagnostic tool. Also, if you change the sequence of tests or one of the parameters of the Memory Diagnostic tool, the current test pass restarts.

If the Memory Diagnostics tool detects errors that occur in your RAM, the screen is updated with information about the error. A "Fail" result for a test indicates this particular test has detected an error. If a test fails, your computer has for lack of material.

If the memory diagnostics tool detects errors in your hardware, you must correct the errors and rerun the Diagnostic tool memory until no errors are reported. Then, you try to run Windows again. If you do not, it may be that Windows does not work properly.

You can try to identify individuals without component of memory. However, if errors are found and that your computer is under warranty, we recommend that you contact the manufacturer for troubleshooting.

    Memory diagnostic tool information: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-vista/How-do-I-know-if-my-computer-has-a-memory-problem

    I hope this helps.

  • Increase the video memory of the A40-211

    Hi all

I have the Satellite A40-211. The Intel chipset also supports all of the graphical stuff, so he needs a little more memory RAM as video memory. This is possible up to a maximum of 64 MB. The problem is that the chipset is now using a maximum of 16 MB of video memory, but I want to expand this to 64 MB.

Where can I find the settings for this in Windows XP Home Edition?

    Thanks for all the help!

    Bart

Hi, it s not possible to increase the video memory yourself!

Let me tell you that your laptop is a dynamic memory management

Your computer system reserved graphic only as much memory as it needs to accomplish all tasks running on your A40.

.. dynamic video sharing .This is not bad, as I think!

More info on your graphics chip basic find on pages of Intel.

    good evening...

  • Satellite 5200 - alteration of video memory

A month ago, I encountered a problem with a slightly garbled screen
on the internal and external screens. More or less visible vertical
stripes appear on the screen. They are mainly blue on dark background
(better visible) or yellow on white background (less visible) and have
approximately the same thickness of 1-2 mm and length of order order
1 cm. The locations of the bands depend on the position of the details
actual image currently displayed on the screen.

The start screen is also but now clouded by red vertical stripes on the left and right of the red logo "In Touch with tomorrow Toshiba".
Full text-mode screen, strange characters appear in positions that are correlated with the positions of real characters.
The Test Pro BurnIn V4.0 indicates a video memory corruption (the card is NVIDIA GeForce4 460 Go, 64 MB, integrated RAMDAC). It's very interesting, yesterday
There was a short period of about 5 minutes, when all the symptoms described above has suddenly disappeared.
Even the BurnIn Test showed that everything is OK. But after this period, the symptoms recovered again. For this
reason, I would like to ask how to solve the problem.

It is indeed a bad video memory that can recover and then go back to being bad or other reasons, such as poor connectivity, etc. ?

    Thank you.

    Hello

Not easy to say what can be the problem, but if you write red vertical stripes on the left and right of the red logo "In Touch with tomorrow Toshiba" it may be a hardware problem. I think just detailed by a technician tests can give you more information about hardware malfunction.

  • Satellite L875D-10R - dedicated video memory - 512 MB only

    Hello

I have a problem with my dedicated video memory. I bought my Toshiba laptop with 2 GB (amd 7640G) dedicated video memory, but it shows that I have only 512 MB dedicated. I tried also test in GPU. It shows also only 512 MB.

Is it maybe problem in point 8.1 of Windows?

    Hello

The Satellite L875D-10R supports 7640 G AMD Radeon HD internal graphic unit. This GPU is part of the processor AMD Quad-Core A8 - 4500M.

Graphics memory depends on main memory. A part of the main memory would be assigned to graphics memory. In the case of 8 GB RAM main GPU can use up to 4083 MB by using the 64-bit system.

You should also know that this will be controlled by the graphics driver and you cannot change it manually.

  • DVD will play is more about Tecra M - video memory

    Hello

I tried to read a DVD this morning and WINDVD player gave me the message: insufficient video memory for DVD playback at the current screen resolution. I tried in Windows media player and I can hear but no video.

I reduced the resolution to 800 x 600 but I still get the same message
and anyway, I played successfully DVD several times.

I can still play notice OK, just DVDs of the drive or folder that fail.

    Anyone got any ideas?

    Thank you

    Chris

    Hello!

What laptop Tecra you have exactly?

I think that you must reinstall WinDVD and Windows Media Player doesn t work again why don t have a codec package installed I think.
So, try to reinstall WinDVD and try another player like VLC media player. It can play a large number of audio and video files.

    Good luck!

  • Bad video memory - Satellite 5200

I have a scrambled on display problem
a Toshiba Satellite 5200. The adapter is
    NVIDIA GeForce4 460 Go, 64 MB, integrated
RAMDAC. A test of Micro-Scope shows a bad
video memory. How to solve the problem
(change the video, or only video memory card
or is it possible to exclude a damaged part
    video memory)?

    Thank you.

    Hello

I read about this diagnostic software and it seems that this software is operating system independent, which allows the program to directly access hardware, bypassing the DOS or Windows, for faster and more accurate troubleshooting.
But nevertheless, I recommend you to ask for help ASP. It may also start a diagnostic test and can give you an appropriate response.

By the way: it of not possible to replace a graphics memory or graphics card.
The graphics card is a small chip that attaches to the motherboard. In this case, you will need to change the motherboard. Well, but before you start to replace whatever it is ask for a care service

  • Satellite A200-1AG shows 0 MB of video memory

    Hello.
    I have another question.
My laptop says I have 0 MB of video memory. Is this normal? How can I change this?
    I have a Satellite A200-1AG with a NVidia GeForce Go 7300.
    If anyone knows, please reply.

    Hello

    > My laptop says I have 0 MB of video memory.

    What?
I put t know how you tested or what you did with your laptop but the Satellite A200 - 1AG PSAECE shipped with the nVIDIA GeFoce Go 7300 graphics card and it takes in charge an external with TurboCache video memory.

    Local cache is 64 MB and the TurboCache value depends on the memory key amount for example;
64 MB turbo cache with 512 MB of RAM memory
256 MB turbo cache with 1024 MB of RAM memory

The total video memory is a sum of local cache and Turbo Cache.

I think that you have checked the graphics card memory simply in the wrong way!
