  Try to reset the all-in-one (turn off and on again).

  Then try to copy using the control panel buttons, but open the scanner cover to see if the light is turn on. If this isn't the case, then I'm afraid this is a hardware failure and you will need the service unit.

  They can scan and copy in black and color only. There is no option to gray scale.

  Hi all

  I have an officejet pro 8600. He developed a failure when scanning and copying only. It prints very well. When scanning/copying in black and white I get only a series of black lines vertical, probably 100 or more, arranged like a bar code. When you use the color I get 3 or 4 vertical lines in cyan. I do not hear from the current page scanned/copied. I suspect the scanner itself is faulty, but any help would be received with gratitude.

  Sorry to hear you have a problem with lines on your Scan and copy.  I got it exactly the same problem with this printer very and I could solve the problem by making a simple step. Now, this will sound a bit crazy and I hope you are open minded.  Plug the power cable directly into a wall... pretty crazy huh?  HP printers have already built in surge protector, and if you have connected it to a power supply/Strip bar, the printer will get all the power it needs to function properly. You are probably currently you are yourself, "Ive always had this printer connected to a strip/Bar and have never had any problems.  Well, let me tell you that you probably had issues with the printer that only they were issues that you would not notice.  Brightness, the screen feel slower, a little more time to get out of the way 'sleep'... that are just a few things that could took place in the Strip bar.  Just so you know I'm not send you smoke signals, this is a document that shows all the questions when it is connected to an uninterruptible power supply/Strip/surge protector power.  Now, if this does not resolve your problem, I need for you to let me know so that I can give you other possible fixes for this issue.

  the machine prints since Mac perfectly, if there is a little bit slower than before starting and not offering is not the same features, even through an excerpt.

  I made the suggested HP set again which did not improve anything; I looked at downloads of diagnoses, but they do not say that it is compatible with Mac.

  I have a question on the HP Officejet Pro 8600. I have a Mac and Mac OS x installed Lion:

  (1) how to scan HP scan3 2sided/duplex?  There is no option to choose to scan duplex, I have installed duplex accessory and I checked in the system Prefereneces > Print & Fax > Open print queue > Configuration printer > driver > HP 2 accessory sides of impression. See the image of what my options and screen looks like.

  (2) how can I configure my eprint settings when I print through Google Cloud or to my email to the printer to print duplex/2sided? I have looked at the online account but couldn't find an option to print

  You have the 8600 OfficeJet from HP (N911a) or the sign more (N911g) or model Premium (N911n)?

  Only the last two models offer features of duplex ADF (copy of original 2 faces), the basic model only provide double-sided printing.

  The ePrint service does not support duplex printing, you can find that he listed in the documentation of ePrint:

• Scan and copy quality - unwanted line

  I have a C7280 into one bought in late 2007, connected to a Mac running OSX 10.5.8. When I scan or copy using the document feeder, recently, I started to have a single, perfectly straight black line (not a streak or finger) on the left side of each page. This happens not when I use the scan or copy window, or when I print a document the computer off. I followed the solutions 1 and 2 in self-help customer service, but the problem remains.   Function of the printer, there is usually a bunch of small glass or a box in the ADF, sometimes it can be missed. If you can locate I would say clean it according to the instructions. Like the article I believe that you read indicated if Solution 1 and 2 does not work Solution 3 is that it should be repaired.

• C410a - problems with scanning and copying

  Recently bought a new computer (Windows 7 64-bit).  The old computer had the c410a Photosmart all-in-one installed and works without any problem.  PCMover to transfer files from the old computer to the new.  Had some problems at the beginning, but downloaded the drivers for the c410a and could do print from the computer.  However, it does not scan or copy.  I've uninstalled and reinstalled the software several times to drive and keep it for the same problem.

  If I try to scan or copy of the printer, I get an error message saying that I should try to scan/copy of the computer instead.  When I try to use the HP Solution Center, I get an error message that says: Hpqdirec.exe - system error - "the program can't start because libexpatw.dll is missing on your computer.  Try reinstalling the program to fix this program. "Then a second message appears that says Configuration ASF Broadcom -"system is busy and can not initialize.  Try again later. "As I said, I tried to reinstall the software that came with the printer several times and still get the same error messages.

  So, what don't get me?

  Well, I think that I thought about it.  When I reinstalled the software, I assumed that all software has been reinstalled.  But apparently, only the drivers were installed and not the HP Solution Center software.  Is returned on the disc, saw a button for installing additional software, and then installed the Solution Center and that seems to have solved the problem.

  We will uninstall the software by using the "scrubber":

  Go to Applications/Hewlett Packard / click Uninstall HP
  Click on continue
  Highlight your device in the left pane
  Hold down the Ctrl and Opt Cmd and click on uninstall< scrubber="">
  There will be a pop up that asks if you are sure you want to uninstall all hp software. (At this point, if you continue, all HP printers you have installed will need to be reinstalled)
  Click on continue and let it finish

  Restart your Mac

  Now run a software update.

  Finally, download and install the "Full Featured" driver and software from the "Support & drivers" link at the top of this page.

  I saw your post on your Officejet 4500 scanning black images. You mentioned that the printer is also white image copy. Normally it is a scanner failure.

  I would like for you to try the steps in this guide to see if you get positive results:

  A "Failure of the Scanner" Message appears on the all-in-one control panel and you can not scan, copy, or fax

• HP 5510 Scan and copy is twisted

  When I copy or scan on my 5510, the resulting image is twisted - the left the bottom margin is 1 inch to the right of the margin on the left at the top of the screen.  I printed an alignment page (don't not quirky) and scanned the alignment page, but that has not fixed the problem.   It seems that the alignment is fine. I suggest you do a hard reset with the printer. Unplug the laptop in the back of the printer and then on the wall. Once you disconnect the two, wait 30 seconds then plug it back in the printer first, then the wall.

  Go ahead and try the scan after the printer turns on.
