Help!

Hello

If you want to check a correspondent bootabl CD/DVD, start Notepad and press F12 for the boot menu!
Then boot from the CD, when it starts the drive should be ok!

Then the failure is based on windows and a restoration of the system must display the CD-ROM drive in the Explorer again!

Otherwise, it may be a failure hardware look defective IDE connector or something. Then a Service Toshiba partner must be called for a short check up!

Goodbye, TOK

  • Portege A600-133: DVD player disappears from my computer

    Hello

    I have a laptop Portege A600-133.
First of all, it is slow at the opening of my computer screen.

Second: after ejecting a disc dvd or cd, Windows still shows the contents of the disc, the system hangs for a while, a USB unplug sound can be heard and the dvd player disappears from Windows (in my computer / Explorer / Device Manager)

    What this may be?

I did already the round of upper/lower filters in the registry, but it does not solve the problem...
I opened the computer laptop and checked the wiring to the dvd drive, cleaned the contacts, supported on the connectors.

But the problem is still there...
    OS = Windows XP SP3

    Kind regards

    Arjan

    Hello

My first idea was to remove the upper and lower registry key filters, but it seems that you have already done this.

Nevertheless, here is a knowledge of MS on the upper and lower filters article mentioned.
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/270008/en-us

Hmm if the unit is not present in the device manager then this means that the device is not connected or he's dead

You should check if the ODD (optical disc) is recognized in the BIOS.
You should also check if it of possible to boot from the bootable CD.

If this is not possible then it may mean that your WEIRD malfunction

  • Mata * beep * keeps losing dvd player

My dvd player disappears from the window 'my computer '.  The reader is turned on but does not appear in Device Manager.  Months, what has happened and hp sent me a solution of regedit.  I don't have this solution more and I don't know what the cause of the problem.  System Restore will not do.  Help?

If the drive is not found anywhere in Device Manager, then you encounter a possible hardware/connection failure.  Try to turn off the laptop, remove the battery and then out the CD/DVD drive and reinsert.  Then back - turn on the laptop and test it.

You also need to update your BIOS to the latest version on your software and drivers download page.

If the device not found rest, either the drive is dead or the controller on the motherboard is bad and will require the replacement or service.

  • My DVD - RW Drive (drive E:\) Player disappears

My DVD - RW Drive (drive E:\) Player disappears in my computer and so I can't read CDs. I already follow the methods specified by Microsoft. First of all, I try to remove the upperfilter and UpperFilter in regedit ( http://support.microsoft.com/kb/982116/en-us ). However, it is not UpperFilter in regedit for me to remove it. Help me.

    Hello

-Have you tried to do a system restore?

-Is a desktop PC or a laptop?

-What happens when you press the eject button on the cd/dvd drive?

This could also happen if there is some sort of virus on the computer that made the invisible device in Device Manager.

So, I recommend you run a complete virus scan and audit system.

Perform a full scan of service on your system.

    Step 1: Microsoft Safety Scanner
    http://www.Microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

Note: The Microsoft Safety Scanner ends 10 days after being downloaded. To restart a scan with the latest definitions of anti-malware, download and run the Microsoft Safety Scanner again. The Microsoft Safety Scanner is not a replacement for the use of antivirus software that offers continuous protection. For protection in real time, which helps you to protect your home or small office PC against viruses, spyware and other malicious software, download
    Microsoft Security Essentials.

Important: When performing analysis on the hard drive if bad sectors are found on the hard drive when parsing tent repair this sector if all available on which data can be lost.

Step 2: Download and install Microsoft Security Essentials from the below mentioned link.
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/products/security-essentials/download

Note: The data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means that there is a risk of data loss.

    Hope this information helps.

  • Portege R700 - external DVD Player compatibility

I have a problem with a Samsung external super-multi drive 2 year with my new Portege R700-1F3, which does not come with a DVD player. The USB powered Samsung dvd player works fine with all other computers that I have access to:
    * MacBook with OS X 10.5
    * Samsung NP - X 360 laptop computer with Windows XP 32-bit
    * Dell Inspiron Zino HD computer desktop with Windows 7 64 bit

    The symptoms are:
    * When the dvd player is plugged in Portege, the green light on the dvd player goes on and out.
    * This happens in the BIOS, and once that Windows 7 32-bit support.
    * In Control Panel Windows 7 devices & printers, the DVD alternately appear & disappear constantly.
    * When it appears, it shows up as "USB storage device" with a yellow! warning icon.

I tried all 3 USB ports. The power cable is plugged Portege. I tried the turn of the digital signature when starting upwards. The external dvd came free with my old laptop from Samsung and is the model AA-ES0N09B.

Any suggestion that this is a hardware or software problem and how to fix it?

    Thank you
    Lola

    Hi Lola,.

Have you tried other USB devices on your Portege R700 if they work properly?

If peripheral USB do some problems I would try to remove the USB ports from the Device Manager (right click > uninstall) and restart your computer. After that, the USB ports will be recognized again and you are able to use them.

If it doesn t help I would try a driver update from the official website of Toshiba chipset. http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/

  • Compaq 500 b (VS695UT): missing on Windows 10 DVD player

I've had previously upgraded my desktop COMPAQ 500 b Windows 7 Pro computer to Windows 10 (free from Microsoft) and enjoyed.  Sometimes I watch DVD movies on the computer.  Recently, the DVD drive (drive DVD HP, model TS-H653) disappeared from my list of available drives.  I first thought that the drive has died and replaced by a new DVD SATA drive. (I kept the original drive) Needless to say that the new drive is not seen either.  I've checked all my connections cable without change. I did research page to download driver of H - P with no luck.  Any suggestions?

Never mind.  The problem has been resolved.  It was a problem of double.

The original drive has gone wrong, and SATA3 port on the motherboard stopped working.

I plugged in a new DVD player with no change in symptoms (apparently dead).

I felt that it was a new DVD player, so I plugged on another SATA port on my motherboard, and the computer she recognized immediately.

Then, I placed the reader to original DVD in the computer, packaged for the replacement, buttoned-up DVD player my computer and got back to work, only to find that the computer no longer recognizes the DVD player again.

I knew I had to see that it works, so I had to shut down the computer and replace the original DVD drive (AGAIN).  This time; I left the case open until I have confirmed that the new drive worked, and the original SATA3 port on the motherboard was actually dead.

End result is a bad DVD player and a bad port SATA3 on the motherboard.

    Please read my flustering activities.

  • Re: Satellite A100-1VG - DVD drive disappearing

    Hello

I have problems with the CD/DVD-RW drive on my Satellite A100-1VG. In fact, from time to time he disappears. It will not work to CDs or DVDs and it does not appear on my computer. The only mention of "Hard disks" in bed Device Manager "FUJITSU MHY2120BH ATA Device", which I think is my DVD player.

I tried downloading new drivers without result. Unfortunately, my warranty expired, so I can't just kick the Toshiba laptop to be fixed. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thank you very much in advance.

  • P200 DVD player does not appear an image with the Toshiba software.

    Hello

I just posted this question a few hours before, but it seems to have disappeared from the forum, so go again us.

When I use the Toshiba Software to play a DVD, I get no image, although the interface commands and the sound is very good. The DVD player is fine when I use Windows Media player. This problem suddenly started a few days ago.

Surely, it is a software problem, as the DVD player would not work with Windows Media Player otherwise. However, I wonder why the software would suddenly stop working.

    Any suggestions?

    Thannks,

    Rich

PS I tried to update the software as someone suggested before the last thread has disappeared, but Vista stated that the new version is older than the current version, I despite the fact that last year, I bought this pc, and the most recent version is dated to this year. Strange.

  • Stuttering, beeps and the DVD Player lost on Satellite M40 149

    Hello

For some time now the laptop will work ok for about 1 to 2 hours, and then all of a sudden the speakers start making random pitch high bleeps distorted very strong. When it starts, the system starts stuttering. Every 2 seconds or so it will freeze for about 1/4 of a second. All treatments freezes - including the sounds and display. It's annoying, but generally a slight Jolt sorts it...

When this happens occasionally the DVD player will also disappear, and I need to reboot to get it back. Sometimes I need to leave it off for a short time so I think it's perhaps something to do with overheating?

In any case, my main problem now is that the DVD drive is very rarely now. I used a few tools of analysis of the firmware and the connection to the drive port is present but the laptop cannot connect to it. I thought that maybe s DVD firmware update can fix this, but I couldn't yet.

I couldn't find all the previous reports of the present. Anyone has any idea what this could be? Or how I can fix this?

If she came, I'd be happy to buy an external DVD drive, but the presence of the bad connection interferes with some other tasks, I have...

    Thank you
    David.

  • laptop HP pavilion g7 - RAM SATA GT80N DVD player

    Hello

I checked the 'Computer' tab and the CD/DVD drive appeared. I inserted a blank CD in the drive and iTunes came and immediately delivered a msg of error than Win registry entries this iTumes needs had disappeared. I guess it was because I deleted the "top of the registry. The iTunes error msg says to uninstall iTunes and reinstall it. When I did that it worked and I was able to see and use the CD/DVD player and everything seems to work now.

I had a problem with iTunes, after that I installed Windows 8.1 & also updated iTunes to 11.1.4 a few days after the Win update 8.1. iTunes does not recognize my iPhone4 and I had to uninstall & re-install iTunes, there was a problem with the iTunes re - install that required me to uninstall all THE programs Apple (Support Mobile, etc.) and re - install iTunes more assocated programs. I got it all works and then noticed the problem of CD/DVD.

I think that the first iTunes re - install that was a problem as corrupt Windows registry for this region that iTunes uses to access the CD/DVD drive.

The resolution of the problem by removing the ' superior in the register of Win and re - install iTunes seems to have solved the problem of CD/DVD!

Thanks for your help, patience and cooperation. I really appreciate it.

    See you soon... John

DVD player doesn't work after installing SP3 for Windows XP. That it disappeared from "MY COMPUTER". Device Manager sees it, but there's a yellow exclamation mark over it. See the BIOS of the motherboard and it still works in the BACK. I know SP3 is a collection of updates, but I'm not sure that is my problem. Windows repeat me that "a DVD player is not detected," even if there is a DVD player installed in my computer by the manufacturer.  I pushed it completely with my thumb to make sure that it is not disconnected from its moorings of connection.  The little green light on the door of the reader flashes once every second about.
