• Several points of access Cisco Aironet 1131AG and same SSID?

  We have several Cisco Aironet 1131AG, all wired devices on a switch (2560) Cisco L2 which is connected to the L3 switch (3550). We have assigned a VLAN for access point to the L3 switch which acts as a vtp Server (L2 switch is vtp client). All the ap will have a static ip address and all will have the same SSID and no security, and they will use several channels (e.g. 1,6,11).  They will work in 3 floors for a roaming wireless client. We not using any wireless controller.

  So my question is this: how to configure the same APs-all with a different ip address, can we use L3 switch to create the dhcp server to access points VLAN (pool for guests) and the rest of the static ip address for the ap? One of the ap can be WDS and on the same radius server local time with users without Cisco Secure ACS or similar controller or I did not understand this very well :-).   Well, just so you know, WDS, and local RADIUS authentication is necessary only if you use authentication on your wireless connection.  You say that you do not plan to use security, so it's not necessary.  However, I highly recommend at least using a simple WPA2-PSK to lock your connection, otherwise you might end up giving free Internet access at best and at worst you could give access to the computers and corporate servers.  If you want to reuse a 802. 1 x or WPA authentication method, then Yes, you can use an AP as RADIUS and to improve WDS Server authenticated to roaming, but this is much more limited than the use of a Cisco ACS.

  As for your other questions, Yes, your APs can all be configured the same except for at least three settings: IP address, hostname, and channel.  Configure your static IP addresses on the interface of the PA BVI1.  Do not place it on the Radio or Ethernet interfaces, because if one of these interfaces goes down, you lose the ability to configure the AP, so it's best to use the BVI1 interface.

  And Yes, configure a DHCP scope for your customers on your L3 switch is good design, or you can also use your DHCP server on a different subnet by using the command of support-ip address on the interface of L3.  I hope this helps!  Let me know if you need help to set all this up.

  The profile manager wants a unique GeneratedUID for each user and group. The GeneratedUID must be a GUID. UniqueID (usually mapped to uidNumber) is not a GUID, is not surprising that mapping GeneratedUID on uidNumber failed.

  Each user and each group must have an attribute which is filled with a unique GUID (String). This attribute must be indexed on the LDAP server. The attribute must be visible to the clients. Clients must have their GeneratedUID mapped attribute.

  OpenLDAP has an attribute entryUUID operational is a GUID. You can possibly use. Or use some other unused attribute that can store a GUID. Or extend your schema, and add the Apple-generateduid attribute.

• Cannot access my profile. (Windows XP SP3) Problem apparently because of Windows Installer.

I have now the temp profile open in safe mode and note that a file that I saved when you previously logged into the temp profile has been saved successfully to the new folder that I created. In addition, when you are connected to normal mode, I found that I couldn't access to Mozilla Firefox, open MS Internet Explorer and click on a link to something (can't remember what) and Mozilla Firefox open as usual.

  Things that I did just before this problem appeared: installed and run Malwarebytes and Superantispyware, tried to update Java and VLM Media Player using AVAST! interface, and then without using AVAST! interface. Both failed, but something else I've updated OK. Tried to download and install Windows Installer 4.5 (without success). So I then tried to repair/reinstall command of the race by using regedit and regserver command screen.

  You have a damaged or corrupted user profile.  A way to recover from this condition is to perform a system restore, but since you have no restore points, you will need to recover with another method.  The usual way to recover is to create a new user profile and then copy the data from the damaged to the new profile user profile.  This procedure is not usually difficult.  Choose from the selection below:

  Here you go:

  1. Set your BIOS so that it uses the DVD drive as its primary boot device.
  2. Start the computer with your system repair CD. If you do not have one, ask a friend to burn you through the control panel / backup and restore. It takes less than five minutes.
  3. Press a key when prompted to boot from the CD.
  4. Select 'PC Repair' in the menu.
  5. Select 'Repair' when prompted.
  6. When you are prompted, select System Restore. You will not have a password.
  7. Configure Windows to a point before this problem occurred.
  8. Plan ahead a little and create, test and document an alternative admin account, same as you have a spare emergency House key. This will save you a lot of trouble.

  We have two WAP561 devices and they delivered with firmware 1.0.3.4. In this firmware release notes, there is open opposition with reference number CSCty22825, declaring that telnet and ssh is disabled in the interface chart and SNMP. In the notes of the other releases, as 1.1.0.4, this caveat is no longer present. We have improved our 1.1.0.4 devices, over telnet and ssh section is still not present in the GUI.

  Is there a way to enable ssh on these devices? In the administration guide, there should be a section called 'Telnet and SSH', but it is not present in the GUI. We also checked with the emulators with different firmwares. Still no telnet and ssh, section.

  These options were available in a very old firmware (the first version) which is no longer present on the cisco.com site and unfortunately I do not have. For security reasons, these options have been removed the new firmwares available.
