After recovery PC issues

Hello.  I have a HP Pavilion Elite HPE - 257c.  I recently did a restore with recovery discs, and now, Windows Update does not work.  I tried to go to the catalog to install updates, replacement of the update agent and recover the computer again.  It gives me code 0x8000ffff error when I try to install new software or updates manually.  When I try to check the updates, I get "Windows cannot check the updates right now because the service is not running.  Please restart your computer. "I have restarted the computer, three times and checking to see if the service is running, and Windows shows that it is.  What should I do now?

I called my local computer and he said that HP computers can do when recovered.  Try installing the chipset driver to resolve the problem.  After trying, that the computer worked perfectly.

    Hi Bitshifter,

    topic of your question 3:
The recovery process replaces the whole HARD drive or even a partition with an image created by Toshiba. This image contains an operating system, drivers, and a few basic programs. All other data (including viruses) in this partition will be deleted.

    question 4:
I don't know the cause of your problem, but I think it's a hardware problem, because after recovery, there may be incorrect or missing software.

Sorry I can't give you more information.

  • Partition lost after recovery - Satellite L30

I had two partitions on my HD (Satellite L30-114).

I used the Toshiba recovery Cd to restore windows back to my laptop. The CD has not offered me a full mode or an Expert as written here http://support.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/FAQ350072001GR01.htm he has just recovered without any input on my side!

After recovery, Windows does not see my second partition. I used the disk management utility, and it is said there are 17 GB of disk unassigned space (this is my second Partition!).

Can and how can I restore it?

    TX a lot!

    Hello

It seems that the L30 comes with a new version of the recovery cd.
I think that the recovery procedure is a bit different than the old with 2 different recovery modes (standard and expert)

I know a little new recovery procedure because a friend of mine bought a new Satellite with this recovery CD. He asked me for the installation of the laptop and we checked.

It seems that you must press the setting button after the language selection.
If you n t use the button setting for the configuration if the recovery procedure will be remove and erase everything on the HARD drive. I think you didn't configure the settings and therefore all the partitions have been deleted.

Unfortunately I think that there is not much to do. You the partition has been deleted and it of not possible to bring back the lost data.

  • HP plugged music after recovery?

HP Pavilion Ultrabook 15-b005eo with 8 64-bit Windows.

    Another question for today.

Last week, I bought this laptop yesterday I did a factory reset because HP 3D DriveGuard had ceased to work telling me that hard drives are not supported. I tried all of the solutions provided by this forum and it still does not so I decided to try the factory reset I had nothing special on my computer yet - or that's what I thought.

As the name of 'factory reset' suggests, the computer would be re-established, on the condition that I received it in.
Almost everything was the way I was expecting. Except Norton and HP plugged music were missing. Not a big deal for Norton can be downloaded from their site, but music connected to HP is not available from their or your site. It is not yet available from the Recovery Manager.

I had not yet activated the trendy music trial.

Is there a way to get this back? There should be, because it is still a new computer, and it means I have the right to 90 days of the trial, right?

PS. DriveGuard started working again after recovery.

    Hello! Problem solved!

    Here's how it worked:

I saw this one blogpost for the installation of Windows 8 cleanly without the 'bloatware' for computers that came with 8 Windows pre-installed. There was in the blogpost instructions to use Windows built-in 8 'reset the PC' - function to get rid of the pre-installed programs and come back only to win 8. But in the section comment each commentator said that it did not work and all (incl. "bloatware") is restored when you use this function.

I decided to try this and it worked! Everything that has been installed on this computer is returned including HP connected with music. It's a little weird when you use Recovery Manager it does not install connected with the music but when you use the built-in function of Windows 8, it is

All of a sudden we cannot download programs of basic games, after recovery we cannot not even down load dap download eccellerator!

can help us, that's happened is that during the last 5 days.

    Hi Eric,.

Chances are, something happened during the recovery process that prevents you from downloading something on the internet. One of the most common reasons for this is that the security settings are set too high. See the link below to learn how to change the security settings.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/change-Internet-Explorer-security-settings

Another reason that you might not be able to download whatever it is could be the settings you have enabled in your anti-virus program, if you are running one. If you are, try to disable the program while you download those

  • After recovery, admin password information with 'points' and impossible to remove or change

    Hello.

I ran yesterday, updates of Windows 7 but only those necessary.  I do not have one of those as an option.  After the updates completed, I turned on the computer and he was stuck in a loop cycle - from windows, then the admin password, connect you box came.  The box was fiiled in (with "dots" but too many to represent my password) and the screen just quickly flashed back & forth between the login screen and 'incorrect password '.     I tried to change username, and it flashed back into the admin log.

I did a system restore to the factory settings (after saving all data) using the recovery discs.  After recovery, the screen "Set a password for the account" comes with the box below "Type a password" completely filled with dots.  I can't delete them with the BACKSPACE or DELETE key.  If I put highlight and then try to erase it with BACKSPACE or DELETE, the cursor just moves on the right side of the password box, but it is not always remove the defective "dots" password so that I can change.

I tried to restart with the power and then switch on again.  After selecting the country & language again, same password screen developed.

It's stuck!  Any help would be greatly appreciated!  I have computer I have is the HP Touchsmart 310 1155 - Y.

    Thank you!

It's curious with a recovery.  First, try to reset the password using NTPassword.  Do the boot CD that him following the signs.  If this does not resolve the problem of signon, think to install the operating system from a typical drive of Windows 7 to the same version, using the key of the COA sticker.

Thank you for your time and patience to hear me rant, I guess when you love something, you have just donr want to let go.

    Thanks again

    Jean Guillaume

    HI, Provost,

YH ive been on a few sites HP through the tricks and tips of what to do and should do.  All was well with the HD & no problems found.

Then I noticed someone in the forums they have took everything that they can to leave the manual which is not too extreme with regard to the Ram, HD battery etc & clean all parts with a clean, dry brush.  I used a brush that was around 1/4 ".

After having replaced all back & turn on the laptop the recovery went through the fine & Windows back up & running NP.

I might suggest that a few people do the same thing before interfering with the bios etc it can be useful...

One thing again, I noticed is the heat it gives off yet? I don't remember it to be so hot before? I don't know if this may just be the age.  ?

in any case, thank you for your time and reply to my post...

    All the best.   TMan

  • Need help with Toshiba record after recovery installed

  • No DVD-ROM after recovery - Satellite A100-289

I recently had my A100-289 expedition in for repair. A few days later the unit returned to me with a new motherboard.
Unfortunately my OS has not started, so I got it from the DVD.

Once you have completed the recovery process, Windows MCE prompted with the "new hardware found" - Assistant, who wanted to install a driver for the DVD drive. Usually you don't need drivers for these, do you think?

After searching in vain the net for several hours, I tried to recover once more, then maybe the problem would disappear by itself, but unfortunately this was not the case, not even after the third recovery.

I tried to install on a clean install disc that I used on my desktop before, just to see if it works and then uninstall it. What can I say? It didn't work anyway :(
I am writing from said computer laptop on which I have installed as secondary to Mandriva Linux 2008 operating system. The DVD player works perfectly here.

I concluded it must be a software problem, which has to do with Windows maybe, there is a way to solve it, but I don't have a working solution yet, although I tried to uninstall and reinstall both driver and drive several times without success.

    Any ideas?

    Hello

First of all if you are able to install one operating system and then the CD/DVD drive works and surely it s not a hardware issue.
Then you should check the Device Manager after installing the recovery CD if there is no yellow exclamation point.
Then you must remove the drive from Device Manager and should access the registry.

It to completely remove the Upperfilters and Lowerfilters from the following registry key values:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\ {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

    and then restart the laptop.

    Good luck

  • Extremely slow performance after recovery disk restore.

Machine: Dell portable computer. Router: Netgear. Cable modem: Ubee. OS: Windows 7 Professional Pro. Usage: homepage.  Background: download software WiFi of Mrs Webb Page. When I tried to reboot the system has been compromised and would only boot from the recovery disc after a complete restoration of the self made restore disc. Made several attempts to recover from internal disk using restore without success points.  These recovery discs were made in two years when the system was purchased and loaded. Problem: System is now extremely slow requiring min to access internet and min more than to get to yahoo mail and min more to call individual emails. Browse online or offline is painful causing a lot of pain. Assume total ignorance when you answer the question that follows: HELP?

If the system is really slow on its own without worrying about all things Internet that I'd work on that to know first since you said "Browse online or offline is painful."

Dell made a lot of laptops to do so that we can see what you have:

Click on the button/ORB start in the lower left corner of your screen. Or, press the button of your keyboard Windows logo.

    In the type box:

    Msinfo32

Select / click msinfo32.exe and the system information dialog box opens.

Click System summary, click on edit, select all (Ctrl-A), copy (Ctrl-C) and then paste (Ctrl-V) the information back here in your next reply.

For information about video drivers, expand components, click view, click on edit, select all (Ctrl-A), copy (Ctrl-C) and paste (Ctrl-V) feedback here.

    For the Canadian Techtdo this:

Expand components, storage, click on disks, click on edit, select all (Ctrl-A), copy (Ctrl-C) and paste (Ctrl-V) the information back here.

There will be some personal information (such as the user name and the name of the system), and anything that turns information private for you, simply delete the pasted information.

Sooner or later, it would be nice to have a list of your startup items so while you wait to do this:

Download and install the free version of CCleaner here:

    http://www.Piriform.com/CCleaner

CCleaner will want to install an additional startup item in your configuration (that you need not) on the first Setup screen remember to choose to customize the installation and make it look like this, then install CCLeaner:

CCleaner allows you to manage most of the startup items and also do some other operations oriented cleaning.  Some people will you recommend is not to use the registry functions in CCleaner to avoid these features for now.  I have no problem with it for me, but sometimes it's a contentious issue, I prefer to avoid as much as possible!

You can uninstall CCleaner later if you don't like it.

Run CCleaner and choose Tools, boot and bottom right, click on the button "Save to text file" to save the startup information in a text file on your desktop with a name you remember - something like startup.txt

Save the text file startup information to your desktop (or somewhere you can find it) open the text file with an editor (Notepad or WordPad) and select all (Ctrl-A), copy text, all the text selected in the Windows Clipboard (Ctrl + C) then paste (Ctrl + V) the contents of the startup list of back here in your next reply.

This problem can be caused if the audio drivers and network are absent or damaged. I suggest you to download the latest audio drivers and network the computer manufacturer's Web site and check if it helps.
