ASA - several IPS for VPN
I'll put up Anyconnect to replace our customers of Cisco IPsec VPN, since it is end of life. A part of the process is to get an SSL certificate and a FULL domain name to use for this. I've got that and it is applied to the ASA very well. Now we don't get these warnings to the subject it is not not sure and such.
The problem is that we use a non-standard port for the SSL VPN from 443 is already sent to an internal device. I have unused public addresses to the external interface of the ASA, but I don't know how I could use them. I would like to have a different IP address for SSL VPN, so I don't have to mess with the port forward that is currently in place. I read on proxy arp, but that looks like it could be a problem. I could have someone connect another cable to a different interface on the ASA (5512-X) and assign this static interface I want for the VPN, but I'm not sure it will work well. We have connections VPN site to site in place as well. Can I have the ASA listening on two different interfaces at the same time?
Recap:
IP 1 - address primary NAT, Site at tunnels put end here, some Cisco IPsec VPN terminate customer
IP 2 - want to have all customers of Anyconnect connect here, to migrate all legacy Cissco IPsec clients until they are all over Anyconnect.
Key is that I can not stop listening on IP 1 for site-to-site connections.
Thoughts?
Thank you!
On the SAA, you cannot use the additional IPS for VPN.
If tcp/443 is already used for an external server, then I would reconfigure the DNS entry for it to use the second IP address that must be sent to the internal server. You can then use the IP interface of the ASA for AnyConnect.

Configuration of several peers IPs for VPN Site to Site on a firewall context
I'm running a version of 5585 Cisco ASA firewall 9.1. I use the context mode to meet my clients of different clouds. I have a new client who needs a VPN from Site to Site to a remote location. Remoteness have three counterparts IPs configured in failover mode I need to configure on my end.
Please tell us if this is possible and how to go about configuring.
A context is just like any independent, just virtualized firewall. I did it and it worked fine for me.

New ASA 5545 x for VPN configuration
The ASA has an IOS disk0: / asa911-smp - k8.bin.
In the process of reconfiguration of cryptography groups card and tunnel, I am now giving the key word of iKev1 or iKev2.
I am considering the ikev2 as being safer, but would like some clarification and advice on which to choose and why?
Please inform promptly.
IKEv2 is in many ways superior. Both ends must have the level of code to support - that is about the only negative.
There are a few good tips and advice on why IKEv2 can be your best choice in this document to TAC.

Hello
I would like to configure the ASA for vpn only. By default, ASA allows traffic from the interface of high security to low security interface. I want to stop it. Is it possible to do without resorting to access lists.
Thank you
John
Define interfaces for the same level of security and make sure that you do not have same-security-traffic permits inter-interface enabled.

Can the NAT of ASA configuration for vpn local pool
We have a group of tunnel remote ipsec, clients address pool use 172.18.33.0/24 which setup from command "ip local pool. The remote cliens must use full ipsec tunnel.
Because of IP overlap or route number, we would like to NAT this local basin of 172.18.33.0 to 192.168.3.0 subnet when vpn users access certain servers or subnet via external interface of the ASA. I have nat mapping address command from an interface to another interface of Armi. The pool local vpn is not behind any physical interface of the ASA. My question is can ASA policy NAT configuration for vpn local pool. If so, how to set up this NAT.
Thank you
Haiying
Elijah,
NAT_VPNClients ip 172.18.33.0 access list allow 255.255.255.0 10.1.1.0 255.255.255.0
public static 192.168.33.0 (external, outside) - NAT_VPNClients access list
The above configuration will be NAT 172.18.33.0/24 to 192.168.33.0/24 when you go to 10.1.1.0/24 (assuming that 10.1.1.0/24 is your subnet of servers).
To allow the ASA to redirect rewritten traffic the same interface in which he receive, you must also order:
permit same-security-traffic intra-interface

ASA 5510 Auth for site-to-site VPN users
Hello
is there a way we can get the ASA to prompt users VPN site-to-site to authenticate on ASA/RADIUS before access resources head behind ASA such as Sharepoint etc allowed in via respective VPN ACL?
I never did, but you should be able to use authentication 'Cut Through'.
Basically, the user has little or no access, and the ASA intercepts a request, such as via HTTP and then authenticates the session. After that the user can access all that you allow them.

HI Experts,
Can you please give me an idea on what this module IDS/IPS for ASA 5505?
How much does it cost? How to install and configure to work with ASA 5505?
We have also a few site to site of ASA 5505 VPN configuration. This would affect somehow?
Thank you very much
ANUP
ANUP-
You should be able to find the links that I provided for you with a general search on Cisco's Web site for 'ssc-5' and 'installation' and 'configure '.
No, you should still ASA terminate Internet access. You want to have the SSC-5 module (IPS) to monitor the interfaces from the INSIDE, (always wanting to make IDS/IPS inside a firewall). This way you can see the traffic after it has been decrypted on your VPN, and after the traffic has been filtered to your firewall rules.

ASA - NG IPS inspect encrypted traffic
Hello
We buy ASA 5525-X with IPS for us to network. We have a number of servers that provide services Web Applications. We have a big problem installing ASA it is we cannot use ASA inspect and IPS has because over 80% traffic through encrypted.Thank you to tell me how I can solve this problem.I know a solution to use Proxy HTTPS in ASA, but for some reason, this solution cannot be implemented.Thank you.If you want to protect you own Web servers against attacks from the internet. You cannot use the HTTPS-decryption of the ASA-CX as the internet - customers do not have your CX-certificate.
To resolve this problem, the typical is to place a proxy reversed in a DMZ and do the SSL/TLS-manipulation here. The reverse-proxy sends plain HTTP through the ASA and the IPS may inspect what and protect your servers.

Look at a FPS in real time of the events of several IPS devices
What is the best strategy for the display of the IPS in real-time of the events of several IPS devices now that VMS filed end of LIFE?
There was a nice view unique of all IPS events from all IPS devices run in VMS and I was wondering where I can tell people to receive the same information on their networks. I do not see in CSM and I do not think that they will find in MARCH. Please notify and correct me if I'm wrong. Thank you!
You can use VEI. It is an observer of events that has a dashboard in real time also. You can import several sensors inside and view the events in real time.

ASA 8.3 - SSL VPN - NAT problem
Need help to find how to configure anyconnect VPN with VPN client using a NAT networking internal.
There are many items on the side - how to disable NAT for vpn pool.
I need to create the gateway VPN to the complex international lnetwork, vpnpool is out of range of regular subnet of that network, so it's going to be questions witout NAT routing.
I so need to vpn clients connected to
be PATed to . The problem is that there is also a dynamic to PAT rule for the ordinary acccess Iternet which translates as 'rules NAT asymmetry... "error. Create two times different NAT rules and moving them on up/down makes no difference. There are also some hidden rules of vpn setup :-(that could not be seen.
V8.3 seems is destroying trust in Cisco firewall...
Thank you.

Error of tunneling to ASA 5505 using "Software VPN Client"
Here's my current network:
I'm VPN tunnel in the ASA using the Cisco VPN Client software.
Here is my config ASA config: http://pastebin.com/raw.php?i=ad6p1Zac
Here's my entry for the VPN Client connection information:
(Password: cisco)
When I try to connect, I get the message error "the received HASH load cannot be verified.
What is this error and how can I solve it?
I think you need to enter this information in the fields of group authentiation:
(Just below "Group authentication")
Name: vpnclientgroup
Password: [just what you entered as a pre shared key below]
tunnel-group vpnclientgroup ipsec-attributes pre-shared-key *****
After the establishmet tunnel you will get a password pop up, that you enter "David" and the associated password.

Hello
The addition of a new network to the existing VPN L2L should be a fairly simple process.
Essentially, you need to add the network of the Crypto present ACL configurations "crypto map" . You also need to configure the NAT0 configuration for it in the appropriate interfaces of the SAA. These configurations are all made on both ends of the VPN L2L connection.
Looking at your configurations above it would appear that you need to the following configurations
SITE 1
- We add the new network at the same time the crypto ACL and ACL NAT0
access extensive list ip 192.168.77.0 outside_1_cryptomap allow 255.255.255.0 192.168.20.0 255.255.255.0
access extensive list ip 192.168.77.0 inside_nat0_outbound allow 255.255.255.0 192.168.20.0 255.255.255.0
SITE 2
- We add new ACL crypto network
- We create a new NAT0 configuration for interface Vlan480 because there is no previous NAT0 configuration
outside_20_cryptomap_1 to access extended list ip 192.168.20.0 allow 255.255.255.0 192.168.77.0 255.255.255.0
Comment by VLAN480-NAT0 NAT0 for VPN access-list
access-list VLAN480-NAT0 ip 192.168.20.0 allow 255.255.255.0 192.168.77.0 255.255.255.0
NAT 0 access-list VLAN480-NAT0 (vlan480-Telefoni)
These configurations should pretty much do the trick.
Let me know if it worked

Traffic permitted only one-way for VPN-connected computers
Hello
I currently have an ASA 5505. I put up as a remote SSL VPN access. My computers can connect to the VPN very well. They just cannot access the internal network (192.168.250.0). They cannot ping the inside interface of the ASA, nor any of the machines. It seems that all traffic is blocked for them. The strange thing is that when someone is connected to the VPN, I can ping this ASA VPN connection machine and other machines inside the LAN. It seems that the traffic allows only one way. I messed up with ACL with nothing doesn't. Any suggestions please?

Hello
No worries
As we change the config I would do as well as possible.
First, it is strongly recommended to use a different range of IP addresses for VPN clients and the internal network
No VPN_Pool 192.168.250.100 - 192.168.250.101 255.255.255.0 ip local pool mask
mask 192.168.251.100 - 192.168.251.101 255.255.255.0 IP local pool VPN_Pool
NAT_0 ip 192.168.250.0 access list allow 255.255.255.0 192.168.251.0 255.255.255.0
NAT (inside) 0-list of access NAT_0
Then give it a try and it work note this post hehe

ASA problem inside the VPN client routing
Hello
I have a problem where I can't reach the VPN clients with their vpn IP pool from the inside or the asa itself. Connect VPN clients can access internal network very well. I have no nat configured for the pool of vpn and packet trace crypt packages and puts it into the tunnel. I'm not sure what's wrong.

There is no route to the address pool of vpn. Maybe that's the problem? I don't know than that used to work before we went to 8.4.
Check if the firewall is enabled on your host from the client ravpn and blocking your pings.

Hi guys,.
I use ASA Version 8.2 (1), I want to limit vpn users to use less bandwidth of my Interlink to access something on the inside of the network
example: source vpn pool
Destn: inside the network
Please let me know how to achieve this with QOS config.
Hello
Probably the best would be to match groups of tunnel.
class-map TG1-best-effort
match tunnel-group Tunnel-Group-1
match flow ip destination-address
Then this traffic in police policy-map and apply the service policy to the external interface (since you want to traffic police from your home). You can also use the pool for vpn access lists.
For more details, please see:
