  Another friend took the computer, pulled out the SSD and installed on his computer and do a clean install and put back, then it worked like a charm!

• How to disable automatic recovery on Satellite P100-437

  Hi all.
  I recently bought the P100-437. In general, I am happy with my laptop but there is a question I am trying to solve and unfortunately I can not.

  When I put the laptop into hibernation and close the lid then when I opened the lid of the laptop automatically starts windows. It got me in trouble when I was going through some security checks in airports.

  So, I'm looking for a way to stop this recovery automatically on opening the lid.

  It is really important to do. Do you have any suggestions or the way in which this can be done?

  I think that there is no possibility to help out you. When to put a computer into hibernation, then this is the only function that brings back the machine to life.
  It probably put s implemented in BIOS and perhaps cannot be changed.
  Then you can try to access the BIOS and look for an option that defines this whole thing put in hibernation, but I Don t think you will have a chance.

  You will need to shut down your computer whenever if you don t want to have a few bad situations that you have told us.

• Satellite A505 - recovery loop without end

  This laptop has a virus and I used the disk recovery one and booted from it and the recovery used only 3 of the 5 DVDs, then Booted and said perpareing for the first login then Toshiba drivers update and restarted in an endless loop... from windows for the first time and toshiba screen saying reboot preparation now etc.

  What now? This laptop is not a year old.
  It's win7 or Toshiba recovery disks?

  Recovery image installation can take up to 2 hours and will probably restart several times so just let dong it work.
  It is the same on the new Satellite A660. Last week, I installed recovery image. After 2 hours, it was over and I was able to use Win7.

  OK, HP Desktop, x64p6214y. Windows 7.

  Here's my problem; I have a HP dv6000 that I bought in ' 06.It worked fine (some problems that have been solved by sending in overheating.)   So please, any suggestions to get out of this endless loop? I tried to hit just cancel, I have tried F11/F10, I tried recovery disks, nothing seems to have the recovery key, and I now regret attempting to clean, because I can't even in Windows because it wiped him out.

  My specs are:

  HP Pavilion dv6000

  Microsoft Windows XP with Service Pack 2 recovery disk

  AMD Turion X 2 1.6 (I think it's a 1.6...)

  1 GB memory

  I think it's a 120 gb HD, although I could be wrong.

  @Tomek - are you just talking install GRUB to an EHDD and running it from there and just using that? I used to have a linux partition on my laptop until I had to send in repairs a year or two ago, when they wiped and had to get rid of it. Unfortunately with this model of laptop, there is no driver wireless supported for Ubuntu, so it is literally imposibble to install and update without driver hacked... that sucks. Not worth the time/effort for someone who's not working/program remote interfaces.

Unfortuantely, I already said I had the recovery DVDs and tried them, and they do not work because when I restarted the laptop, it starts right back in recovery mode. I tried to run a chkdsk and check HD, which are essentially the same ran file from different places, and it passed.

  By "Resizing around the crack of recovery", (bear with me, I had been for nearly 22 hours), I wanted to say in the windows, put in place, remove the other partitions and their fusion in a separate partition recovery, at an installation in the factory. Needless to say, who failed as after windows has finished installing, it starts in the recovery partition.

  I am fairly tech saavy, being in a COMPUTER program, but this problem let me puzzled until I decided to try something really extreme. After 3rd destructive recovery, 2nd attempt at a system restore Windows, 2nd DVD recovery, valorization and none of them work, I decided to make my own way. I inserted the recovery DVD, booted into it from the BIOS and waited the blue screen that details the partitions is displayed. Knowing what is a partition, and what is required for a factory installation, I deleted each except for the recovery partition to the, then preformed a hard reset, knowing it would go into recovery mode. Right now, that's what my readers would look like;

  The unpartitioned space: 82500 mb

  Recovery partition: 9570 mb

  The hard reset is successful, and it starts in recovery PC Mode once more. I preform a destructive reset and VOILA! It works! After the reset, it boots into windows, and now it's just a matter of removing all the crap that comes with a factory installation

  So thanks for the help everyone! I guess I just had to take my troubleshooting to the extream. Heh.

  By default, the AutoRecover files are saved in ~/Library/Application Support/Microsoft/Office/Office 2011 automatic.

  The location of this file can be modified in the word > Preferences > personal settings and the area the file locations. You must click on AutoRecover files , then click on change. Navigate to where you want to save the files automatically, and then click Choose.

• Stuck in recovery loop

  I need serious help! I have a HP Pavilion Slimline s3000y running Vista Basic with the last update of the service Ms. He was acting with blue screens once every two weeks. Then I ran McAfee security suite/antivirus every day and nothing was ever found/fixed. Yesterday it completely crashed and now the screen is so distorted with static recovery HP auto screens are unreadable. Luckily for me I have seen these screens that so many times I have a pretty good idea of what the options are.  So I can't read the messages, it may indicate are the problem and it keeps cycling back via ASR. I had nothing else that maintaining this PC of the headache and about to caving to the taunts of my Mac friends who lent me their Macbook to record this post... trying to keep the faith but its severity.  Any suggestions?  Help, please. I'm dead in the water.

  Looks like the video card is bad.

  Your model has a motherboard that has on-board video. To make sure that it is the graphics card and immediately return your features, remove the video card, pop the small plastic cap off the video connector integrated and use the graphical subsystem integrated.
