BlackBerry Q10 Q10 security wipe 15 + hours

After downloading the latest OS update two weeks ago (too much air) my phone went to work almost perfectly, to have battery and severe lag problems drain (as in 3 hours that the battery would drain complete with NO use - even though I disabled all the radios and wifi).  The only used/installed apps on the phone are those who came with him - I use the hub for E-mail (gmail), phone calls, visual voicemail, and texts.  I regularly use the device and I use the calculator and the browser from time to time.  I use the Facebook app to check notifications.  95% of the use of my phone is entirely for phone calls, e-mails and texts.  I have a MicroSD card in my photos and videos saved in real memory of my phone and was less than half full.

In order to alleviate the problems of lag and battery drain, I read about do a security wipe and reinstall the previous operating system directly.  I backed up my phone and started with the wipe of security more than 15 hours and it is always showing the icon (which looks like an SD card or a memory chip icon perhaps?) with a circle of rotation under it to make believe it works.

I am concerned about how long it takes and how hot my phone feels to the touch (that and the fact that I have a working phone for the last 15 hours with no end in sight.)  With how I used my phone, I'm surprised it took this long.  I read about the risks of doing a wipe of Mid-security battery traction, but this does not seem normal. Pourrait my phone stuck in security due to a glitch erase mode?   Any advice?

Thank you in advance!

Try to reload the operating system with an auto-loader.

    Hello

We seem to be a lot of variation in the duration of a security WIPE will take. But the reasons are not completely clear enough... and so only you can decide when it has been too long.

Once you decide, that it has been too long, your choice is:

    1. Remove the battery, wait 5 minutes and reinsert the battery

      • In some cases, the unit will simply continue with the WIPE. In other cases, it may do something else. YMMV.
    2. Use and automatic charger to force an OS own reloading on the device (which will include a device WIPE as part of what he does).
      • The autoloader should be able to force his way beyond the WIPE running and allow a reload of the OS to occur.

Let us know if you need further instructions.

  • BlackBerry Help Z10: Security Wipe - > KB33480-> no factory setting

    Hey everybody,

I recently changed my Blackberry on the Z10 account, and I proceeded to do a security wipe. After that, the connection to the computer icon was displayed on the phone. So, I looked on the internet for a solution and kept the same finding: KB33480.

So, I went with the steps, starting with the Blackberry link approach. Having said I reset the phone, he would have check for updates and tell me that:
"There is no available BlackBerry Device Software updates."

Here, the light of my phone is green.

After I closed that, the Green led turns off, the red light quickly, then the unit starts. Logo of blackBerry on the connection to the screen of the computer again.

I can't get this or workaround to work. I'm missing on the process described in step 6 of the workaround:

"The smartphone BlackBerry 10 will now be off itself after 120 seconds. Shortly after the 120 seconds, the BlackBerry smartphone LED should turn green. Continue to wait after the LED lights in green, and you will be asked to install BlackBerry Device Software. Follow the prompts to install the BlackBerry software and once the installation is complete the smartphone leader and is now recovered. »

The update password verification of updates, then goes straight to the no updates found screen instead of installing the software on the phone. Can someone help me please?

Hey everybody. I got my Z10 work after 11 grueling hours trying to fix it. The key to implementation is to make sure that you have installed INTERNET EXPLORER 9 . Other iterations are not guaranteed, and they never worked for me once. I found a computer in my home that I was able to install IE9 on cleanly, then ran workaround. He worked at the beautfully. I'm now enjoying my Z10 a lot.

    See you soon.

  • BlackBerry software after security wipe, BlackBerry link does not identify my backup file as valid for the device

I had trouble with my Z10, then I backed up with BlackBerry link (which seemed to work creating a file close to 1 gigabyte) then I did a cleanup of security: when I rebooted, I went through the installer until the end, then the element 'Restore' has been enabled from the context menu of the device.

When I click on 'Restore' after few seconds the bed message "no backup is available for this device.

Is there a function "no, really, RESTORE THIS FILE ' emergency can I call it? I don't want to have to redownload all my apps and reconfigure the whole device.

Thanks a lot for the quick reply... I did some additional checking and I confess that sometimes Windows file permissions are strange and mysterious to me... for some reason, Windows Home Server share where I write my backups to was ' write only ' BlackBerry-link point-of-view... when I searched and had difficulties, just pick it up and copy the file, I added my user login to the official list of the users 'Total control' on this file. , and then BlackBerry link found the file very well... now is restoration.

Sorry for the false alarm, but maybe this will help someone else in the future :-)

  • Classic classic security wipe Blackberry blackBerry taking ages to get stuck at 98%

    Hi guys,.

buy a classic blackberry from a friend and before they turned him over to the wire, they decided to start a security wipe and I had the phone when he was 72% (flashes on the screen when you touch the screen for a few seconds). Anyway, it took forever and I went online to read some forums and there some people waited another 5 to 6 hours. It was at about 15:00 in the afternoon. so I let him do his thing, and from 21:00 he had barely reached 87%. left there from one day to the next, but forgot to plug in for free, so the morning just after it reached 95% battery is dead. When I plugged it in to charge, he did it again, and after about 26 hours he did 98% (goes really fast to 72% and then took forever to get to 98%). got stuck on 98% for 5 hours... I know I porbably should have let it continue and maybe he would have done, but I held the power button , the screen displays 'classic blackberry' and the security wipe started again from scratch! its now been about 2 hours and its 78% (once again - it became very slow when it reached 72%)

the classic has not the possibility of a battery pull, (since that's what some people have done according to the other forums) - so that s out of the question.

is there anything else I can do? any help would be appreciated. the battery of my current phone is messed up and just takes 2 or 3 hours. If you really need to start to use the classic...

    Thank you

  • BlackBerry Blackberry Q10 10.3.2 Z10 password ID issues

Hi, I need help with the Blackberry ID related issues. I recently got a Blackberry from my brother who went to the army where it is limited to use only a device equipped photo of Q10 Q10. Before moving to me, it has disabled Blackberry Protect and delete his personal data and I created my new Blackberry ID associated with my email of the company. However, as has happened the weekend, I couldn't "confirm" my email of the company (Blackberry ID) within 72 hours, and I refreshed the email confirmation, but for some reason, the BlackBerry ID password is incorrect and I can't 'confirm' the new password. Now when I click on BlackBerry ID of parameters, it is said; BlackBerry locked ID
BlackBerry ID password was entered several times incorrently. For security, your account has been locked. If you need create a new password, press Reset. When I clicked "Reset", there was a Question of recovery of the password when I recognize established when I created my BlackBerry ID. Because I can't recognize such a Question of safety, I can't go forward. Can you please what is happening or what I did wrong?

    Here is the information on BlackBerry ID of 'settings ';
BlackBerry ID username: my email company (not my brother ID more)
First & last & pseudonymous: my good names (not my brother more)
    Status of Confirmation e-mail: "unconfirmed".

    And here's what I did after I got on the phone;
    1. I have set up my new BlackBerry ID at the stage of initial configuration without a SIM card inside.
    2. I have never 'confirm' email (BlackBerry ID) within 72 hours. And since then, I can't email confirmation.
    3. I use Q10 with connections wifi at home & work.
    4. I finally incerted my SIM card, but I can't access the BlackBerry World.
    5. I took out my SIM card.
    6. Although I could never "confirming" State ID of BlackBerry, BlackBerry Protect is ON (enable) and I can't turn it off (keeps prompting the BlackBerry ID password associated with my email of the company and it is incorrect)
    7. I do not recognize the "recovery password (security) issue".

I read on internet that with BlackBerry Protect 10.3.2 feature is ENABLED, data wiping is useless without the BlackBerry ID password and it always will make the phone unusable. So I'm stuck...
At this moment, what I can do? And who instituted the "BlackBerry Password Recovery/Security Question in the first place?" I had to 'Confirm' the status of e-mail before using the phone? Can I go ahead and wipe my Q10 without knowing the 'BlackBerry ID password' or 'The password recovery Question?' I would be able to implement the new BlackBerry ID and the new password with my email of the company again? I'm just afraid that I'll do my Q10 permanently out of use. And what is locked BlackBerry ID (account)?

Sorry for writing such a long message, but I just don't know what to do now...

    Hi all

    Last updated:
Successfully, I received the Email 'confirm' to my company e-mail and updated the device information by resetting my BlackBerry ID password. I'm having no problem with BlackBerry Protect 10.3.2 / BlackBerry ID password.

    Kind regards

  • BlackBerry blackberry q10 to z10 Z10

If my daughter wanted to try my old z10, except that I gave it to my daughter who has been put in place in this regard. Girl 2 was a great work of z30. Girl 1 was a q10 I booted up the z10 and wiped. Then when I was put in place it would not girl 1 bbid as he id still recognized girl 2, so I went that disabled the blackberry Protect and thought that I could change the z10 for my daughter 1. However he won't let me. He says link bb if I want to change the owner of the device, I have to wipe the device and enter the details of the new but he does not accept, it is a problem because I did not disable protect it first or...?

    Thank you very much

Hello and welcome to the community!

From what you report, the device must be at the level of 10.3.2.xxxx OS, which includes protection against theft of Government mandated function. Therefore, there is only a process appropriate to separate the association between the BBID and device:

    1. Complete the initial configuration, using some credentials that are last BBID successfully on the device
    2. On the device, initiate a security WIPE, again entering the same credentials BBID
      • Spare - first of all, on the device, turn off BB Protect, entering these same credentials BBID, then initiate the security WIPE
    3. When ERASING is completed, you can use/create a different BBID with the device

Only this exact sequence can succeed... nothing else. Any deviation, insertion of additional steps, removing steps, etc. cancels the procedure.

But what concerns me now is the following:

    keefrto1 wrote:

so I got that off the blackberry protect and thought that I could change the z10 for my daughter 1. However he won't let me.

I don't understand what you were doing there. I hope that you have done step "Alternate" I mentioned above, in which case you can move on to step 3 to complete the process.

Good luck and let us know!

Someone has seen this and is there a solution?

I recommend to do a Wipe of the device safety:

To perform a security Wipe please follow the instructions below. Be sure and use the BB link to perform a backup before proceeding with the full wipe:

    http://www.BlackBerry.com/BTSC/KB33591

Once the wipe is complete, you can restore your backup. Remember that the data in the backup can be the source of the original problem and restore can restore the problem, as well. To compensate for this, I do not recommend restoring the passage of the backup settings.

  • Z10 stuck blackBerry security wipe

I just wiped my device security using the BlackBerry link and now my camera is stuck to the next screen

    http://i.imgur.com/KzZcxU0.jpg

When I go to BB-Link and try to 'Reload', it asks to press the power button until the device is off. The unit get off but it gets activated immediately and get stuck at the top of the screen.

The BB-link said it is impossible to connect to the device and therefore cannot continue.

    Can anyone help?

    PS:

This device is provided to me by my company and is not a personal device.

It is not finished wiping. The security wipe can take a few hours and up to 10-12 hours depending on the CASE, to data encryption enabled and the amount of data you had on the device.

  • BlackBerry Q10 Q10 spyware

    Hello

I have a security problem on my Q10. Some sort of spyware has been installed, I did a Wipe of security but I have doubts if it is deleted. Could you please help and tell me what can I do to erase all data on my BB and that system restore?

    Thank you

@jezynka To be clear, I have confirmed that the security wipe deletes data, applications and media. _VALMONT posted a link to the procedure. If you know what kind of a security wipe you did, then I do not pretend that you have to do it again as long as you have not restored a backup that is not quite out of suspicion.

Reload the operating system using an auto-loader also essentially remove everything on the device that previously existed, but this procedure would involve connecting to a computer. A security wipe has been the best in my opinion procedure. As I understand it, if there was malicious software on the device, it is deleted. If you don't see all the other apps user installed on the device after clearing security, then I think that all user installed apps have been removed.

In addition, for what it's worth, setting the password was the best thing you can do, just a pity did you not have earlier. In addition to advice, make a habit of locking the device manually when you don't have direct control and you want the locked device. You can do this easily with the K shortcut key without waiting for the timeout to lock screen.

  • BlackBerry Q10 Major problem with update (10.1.0.4181)

I tried to do the update last night (10.1.0.4181). Once completed the update let me know that I had to restart my phone (standard) that I did.

However, the reboot happened--got stuck on 100% loading screen (sitting for about 25 minutes). Do you have a battery pull and I tried again and this time it loaded and said my update was installed successfully - but when loading, there was clearly a major issue. The hub does not (just a black screen). When I try to open anything it opens--the box appears to say THAT BBM then everything stops, and then the entire phone will be closed and reboot.

Even if I try to leave (not load anything) it keeps restarting itself. The longest I have had on is about 2 minutes.

The update is not complete. It still shows my most recent software like being10.1.0.238. If I try to resinstall the update it just freezes at 0% and stops after 2 minutes.

I tried to do a security wipe but it did not work so far - sitson the screen saying an erasure of security is ongoing, then just the boots down and when it restarts all my apps are still there (even if you can not open anything).

I also tried to plug it into my computer and try to do a factory reset on BB link, but because the phone keeps himself restart the computer continues to lose the ability to communicate. In the middle of the attempt to reset it will come with a message saying that the computer can no longer communicate with the phone (usually right at the time, it is set to zero). I tried already to many battery grips and it recharges, and nothing has helped.

I'm running a Q10 SQN100-3. My version of the software appears as 10.1.0.238, and I had no problem with my phone until I did the update last night for 10.1.0.4181. Any suggestion at this point would be helpful I thought I want to solve my problem with a factory reset, but with this problem of communication arise each time it resets which seems to not even be an option.

    Update:

After a few tries, I finally got a security wipe, which resolved nothing. The phone is then in a never-ending cycle of starting with the introduction of screens.

I finally downloaded autoloader and used that to wipe the OS and reinstall. Worked like a charm and the phone now works correctly.
