BONE repair facility

I want to do a repair of my OS installation because it became unstable. The CD is available I have Windows XP SP2. Since I now have SP3, to do a repair installation would require all updates SP2 that includes SP3. Given that Microsoft offers is more support for SP2 might still be able to repair my OS?

A repair installation only works in certain situations. Just because your system is unstable does not mean that a repair installation is appropriate. If you give us the details, we can very well guide you to the solution simpler and faster.

That being said, sometimes a repair installation is indicated. Ideally, your installation CD should be at the same SP level. In addition, he must be careful with what version of Internet Explorer is installed. otherwise, you will encounter problems.

Given that your CD is upgraded to SP2, you can create a new installation CD, using the original and "slipstreaming" or integrate SP3, so liquidation with an adequate level XP SP3 installation CD. Some installation XP OEM CD are more complicated than others when it comes to "slipstreaming". What is the brand and model of your PC? What kind of CD do you have? If you want instructions on the integrated installation, ask here. :-)

Or you could just do the repair with your existing CD installation. As long as you make sure to boot from the CD instead of off the hard drive, it will work (IE should be downgraded to IE6 first, however). But you would need to reinstall SP3 after the fact and then all the security patches later. See the following page:

  • Unable to activate Windows XP Home Edition after the repair facility.

Of that, I was running a Dell Dimension 5000 bought from the Dell website in 2005. After this computer from run very slowly, I decided on an upgrade. So I removed the hard drive of this computer with XP Home Installation and everything what it intact and plugged the hard drive into a completely new computer (that I bought and customized piece by piece). I also installed Windows XP Pro using the ability of XP to run dualboot. Now the Pro works well, but has of course none of the programs of the host OS installed as even if Pro and Home are installed on the same drive C, Pro of course did not the registry of home settings. That's fine, but when I chose the House to the splash screen immediately after my computer upward once again, I have encountered an error saying that Windows has shut down the computer to prevent damage etc. by a blue screen of death. So I fixed installed House, by inserting the Home CD in the CD drive (which is also new and I bought, not even the one from my old computer to 2005), choice of APPETIZER and not the repair console and then clicking R to repair the detected existing OS. I fixed installed and I was thrilled when the problem has been resolved. When I chose the House and after having set up, I was greeted by the familiar screen with users that I had set up on my PC of 2005. When I clicked the user admin, typed the password, he accepted the password and then a box came up saying I had to activate Windows before I could open a session. By clicking on the number resulted in the user disconnects automatically before the start menu or desktop appeared. Clicking Yes led me to a screen that gives me the choice to choose between online and phone activation. As my entire computer (except for the hard drive) is new, the internet network adapter is also new, and that's why the internet settings (the 2005 model old) which I had not yet changed on the Pro Installation do not allow me to activate via the net. I tried via telephone following all the instructions and punch in the 25 digit code generated by the wizard in the phone and told me that the operator could not generate a code (for me 2 type in the boxes provided and therefore use to activate XP Home). I then shut down the PC, went to the installation of Pro, changed the IP settings according to the instructions given to me by the ISP to the phone and checked the net now works on installation of Pro IE. It worked, and I now turned off, chose the House and tried to activate on the net and there is not yet well make sure that my computer is connected to the net. I even clicked on the phone option and changed my ID by typing my OEM 25 product key numbers and clicking Refresh. I tried again by phone and still could not activate my installation in a House. The installation CD home I used was the 2 me by my Builder (a purple disk saying OPERATING SYSTEM: ALREADY INSTALLED on YOUR COMPUTER). This CD certainly isn't a forgery because I ordered directly from DELL and not even the 2005 Bill to prove it. Is it because I changed my system components and not my hard drive with it, which is the origin of this problem? How can I fix this without backup everything and remove the installation of the House and then re - install?

"ArjunC" wrote in message News: 3df4138b-2174-4cb1-821e-0527dc60da2c...

In fact the Windows XP Pro has been installed by the people who moved the hard drive to the new computer. I never asked for it. But remove XP Pro still wouldn't solve my problem. I need to find a way to use my original of 25 characters product key or get a key of success generated by phone so that I can log on to Windows XP Home Edition and continue to use my PC as how I used my old. Some people have told me that I can convince to install MS by phone that I transferred the disk hard - 2 a new computer and then tried a repair but the problem is that all the numbers given on Activation Wizard phone are automated, giving instructions, asking the ID generated by the wizard and then telling me that they are unable to generate an ID for activation. If there is human here, how do you convince a machine of my innocence :)

You need to reinstall using an XP Home OEM disk - see if one of your friends has one you can borrow. The key on your COA sticker will be valid for this.
You can also contact Dell and ask them to provide a set of disks in your machine - for a price.

  • GT Legends installs but when told to restart, windows does not start, necessary to the use of BONE repair

    Hello

try to install GT legends on a windows 7 64 bit computer, I'm thorough possession of installation and bye the way which this has been done when windows xp was new.  then when you click the icon, it says, you must be an admin, a windows box comes up saying program runing try until a Director is regular. I don't admin and I managed to say you want to restart? I say yes, it restarts then it shows windows startup, but no flags windows or points come on the screen. (after 2 minutes) I turned off the computer by pressing the power button turn it on and I do the repair from windows thing.  and back windows to a State where I don't have GT legends.  so is it possible to install it where no joke my PC

    Thank you

Given that the request was made when Windows XP was again, you can try running the application in compatibility mode. You can check the link for more information for more information:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/make-older-programs-run#1TC=Windows-7

If that does not work, chances are the application depends on some legacy components of Windows XP, which are missing in Windows 7. Therefore, check with the developer to get a version compatible with Windows 7.

  • Recurrent BSODS even after the repair facility. Hardware failure? Driver conflict? Help, please!

I was troubleshooting my BSOD for about a week and I need help.

Here's where I am. I cleaned the chassis and reinstall all components. Then I ran memtest for 8 passes without error. Then I got Majorgeeks through my dieting rigorous anti-malware. And there is no malware on the computer.  I could not find any obvious driver conflict. So I ran SFC/scannow and it found some errors, he couldn't fix. So I finally did a repair installation to see if file system cleaning would eliminate blue screens.

    I always get a BSOD.

Which leaves me with what? A bad GPU? Unknown driver conflict? Bad motherboard?

Here comes bluescreenview log for you to look over. If someone could help me please clarify, I'd appreciate it really any help I can get.

    Thank you.

    IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (a)

This indicates that Microsoft Windows or a driver in mode accessed kernel memory paged at DISPATCH_LEVEL level or above.

This bug check is issued if the memory paged (or invalid) is accessible when the IRQL is too high. The error that usually generates this bug check occurs after the installation of the faulty device driver or service system, BIOS.

  • Family Windows XP Edition repair facility

I had a few problems with programs on my Dimension 3100 recently that I suspected were due to registry problems that could be fixed by a repair of Windows installation.

I do a repair of Windows, but not with a Dell supplied disk installation, because I have no one. It is for Windows XP Home Edition, however, just as he had on it.

Things seem to install fine, and the computer appears, other than my current question, work pretty well.

This issue is with activation. I found how to reset the activation timer, somewhere online and did it, to enter Windows in something else than safe mode, to get where things are now. However once things are running the activation process works just simply. I don't know why he gets up at all, as it was not mentioned in what I had read about the repair installation process.

I tried to enter the key from the sticker on the computer case, but he said that it is an incorrect product key.

    What is the solution?

Looks like you did a repair install using retail media instead of OEM media... You need the correct OEM installation media.

However, Windows XP has reached the end of their lives since April 2014, and its continued use is not recommended especially for internet usage. This system hardware is quite low and not useful upgrade to a modern Windows operating system. If on a budget, the price of a retail Windows license is similar to the cost of buying a second hand OptiPlex 780 that has superior material with a Windows 7 OEM license and take the free upgrade to Windows 10.

  • After Windows 7 repair facility, Photoshop displays 0xc01500002 error message

Due to the corruption of some system files, I had to do a repair installation of Windows 7.

When I try to start Photoshop CS6, I get the 0xc01500002 error message.   When I try to run 10 items, I get a different error: "side-by-side configuration is incorrect."

    Other apps will work perfectly.

Any help solving this would be greatly appreciated.

Craig, I recommend you to start with the removal and reinstallation of your Adobe Creative applications.  If you need a new copy the installation files, and then they are available to other downloads.

He sees the Linux bootloader and tries to fix it. You need to install your OS' are in conjunction with each other. Perhaps you could try booting from a floppy disk to repair GRUB and see if you can not solve the bootloader to enable either Windows or Linux at startup but that is the only way I know Windows and Linux running side by side... have GRUB (the Linux boot loader) on the main hard drive and it comes up with an option to start. If you want to run the OS' are independent, disconnect the drive that has only the other OS on it.

If these procedures look too complex - and there is no shame in admitting this isn't your cup of tea - take the machine to a local, good reputation and stand-alone computer (that is, not BigBoxStoreUSA or Geek Squad) repair facility.

  • CD of Win XP Home Edition want to run repair installation

Original title: Win XP Home Edition

I lost my cd of win xp. I still have the product label on the pc with the product key.

I just want to fix it because some files are missing.

    Anyone have any ideas?

    Hi StevenKelley2010,

    · What is the number and the model of the computer?

    · You receive an error message or error with the missing files?

    · If Yes, please mention the names of the missing file.

    · What is the service pack installed?

    · Do you remember all the recent changes on the computer before the show?

Performing the repair facility is the last resort, we recommend or to resolve the problem faced by users.

However, you must contact the manufacturer of the computer for setting up disk.

  • reactivation after XP repair

could not start XP, HAL. DLL missing or damaged. Replaced file still would not start, same message. Boot.ini rebuilt, started but froze before the login screen. BONE repaired by using OEM disk, boots and can open a session but message to validate windows. Click Yes, but nothing happens. Get the normal desktop but no start menu or task bar. I can't access programs to reconfigure so suspicious web access which can be problem. Enter the valid original key during the repair of the operating system without problem. How can I activate this condition?

I have some reservations - your system is decalring a Dell OEMBIOS. DAT, but seems to have no valid data support - but the result seems to be that the installation is seen as authentic.

On this basis, it seems to be OK.

NOTE: there is a major problem with the installation of Office - and you should address this one.

  • FLTMGR. SYS blue screen during Windows XP repair

So my secondary computer has had problems starting lately. And when he did start, it was only a matter of time before it would BSOD on a machine_check_exception. In the last two days that there so bad he has finished start up at all. So I found the XP installation CD and booted from that and tried to make the repair facility. Everything seems to be okay and he said that the computer will restart and Setup will continue. He gets to the Windows XP loading splash screen, but quickly then I get BSOD with

    STOP: 0X0000007E (0XC0000005, 0XF73E92B2, 0XF79C6490, 0XF79C6190)
FLTMGR. SYS - address F73E92B2 base at F73D1000, DateStamp 480251da

When I try to reboot from the CD, he wants to start the installation process

and when I try to restart in safe mode, I get a message that says: "Windows XP Setup cannot run in safe mode. The installation program will restart now. »

    Hello

I was going through discussions and saw that it had not received a response.

Let's start by running chkdsk from the recovery console.

Instructions on the entry for the recovery console is located at the following link:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/314058

While we are at the command prompt, type the following command followed by the Enter key:

    CHKDSK C:/p

Allow to run chkdsk, and note that it can take some time.

Try to restart it in normal mode when chkdsk is finished.

    Best regards

  • My office has just done a repair XP after a hardware change and now all user accounts have disappeared and he asks the administrator password when connecting!

We have a unique system of Windows XP that run the software of engineering for certain calculations. All other systems running Windows 7, but what a XP system because it's the only thing that our calculations software runs on.

CPU of the XP computer died on us and we had to replace the card mother and CPU. After the change of equipment, following Microsoft's OWN guide on the running an XP repair, we ran the system repair and got all the way to the login screen (no blue screen not as before repair). However, none of the accounts are there and he asks an administrators password. The system has NEVER had a password to our knowledge, it was built in the House, and all simply by clicking on the Administrative login asks for a password.

What can we do? We needed this fix before today and wait for the repair of the system to do. Is it possible to enter the system to run the software? We tried the SafeMode (all forms) and they all will ask a password after Windows loading.

    It's so frustrating.

(PS I have been building computers for nearly 15 years and have never had this happen)

Thanks for the quick response. I looked into the system with a "start-up" program All original profiles seem to still be there. I don't know how to make them appear well. Can you direct me or tell me, how to make profiles see the place?

The biggest problem, outdoors is not be able to sign more, is that the engineering calculation software is locked to this PC. It can be installed anywhere else without having to pay for a VERY new (I think that thousands of dollars) expensive key or a new version of the software.

    :(

    Yes, it's a problem.
I believe you can use a UBCD4Win CD or Hiren Boot CD to locate and right click on the files you want to change. And then, if you properly in your repair facility, you change the attributes after you're done.
Some guides are better than others. And here's one that I like:
If necessary, hire a PC Tech. It's much cheaper than buying a license that is thousands of dollars!
  • Complete reinstall - it clear all the settings? If I do a Parralell facility that will be ok?

    My computer crashed...
I couldn't find the disk for this computer special so I tried a Windows XP from one of
several computers is more used... It does not work...

So I bought a new xp to install and that didn't work... indicates an invalid key product.
Company I bought said get it enabled... you can not active unless you
can get into the computer and use the Activation Assistant...

I tried to do a repair, I would not lose my settings... but doesn't look like
I'll be able to do... do you have some looking around... tried to know where to look
the disk for my files of settings... couldn't find anything, but... use the file and transfer
Assistant... which of course, I can't since I can't access windows...

A few hours later... I saw where you could make a "parallel" installation I
done before... but I think that this type of installation I have to redo everything again...
5 years ' worth of tweaking...

Another question... If I do a full install on a separate partition. I'll be able to access
the ID on the old windows partition?

And can someone tell me which files contain my personal settings... My toolbars of office...
    and so on...

    Help please!

    Hello

You will be able to access the partition, if Windows is installed on a different partition.

In a repair facility, the risk of loss of files is very minimal.

You can perform the upgrade on site that may help you solve the problem...
