Hello

I am very new to this. As I have not found a community for the reports. If I am posting this here.

Now when I try to open the report generator, it gives the error below. Don't know what to do. Kindly help with this problem.

  • Cannot start Instance Oracle

    Hi all

I'm going crazy to bring up my personal database Oracle 11 g 11.2.0.1.0.
For a silly mistake I didn't renew the sysman password so it became invalid and OEM descended.
So, I followed a procedure described in this forum in order to change and unblock these users:

1 - update with the new passoword targets.xml file
    < property NAME = "password" VALUE = '< [your encrypted password] >' ENCRYPTED = "FALSE" / >

2 - update with the new file emoms.properties passoword.
    oracle.sysman.eml.mntr.emdRepPwd = [your encrypted password]
    oracle.sysman.eml.mntr.emdRepPwdEncrypted = False

The procedure has not been successful, OEM fell again but yesterday reusing the Pb, I found that it is impossible
to bring up the oracle. He apparently fails to OPEN it step with this generic message

ORA-03113 end of file on communication channel

After tryng to connect with other users:

    ERROR:
    ORA-01034: ORACLE not available
ORA-27101: shared memory realm does not exist
Linux error: 2: no such file or directory

And I can't find a piece of more enlightening journal!
I tried to recreate the spfile from pfile but without result.
I checked free space of the file system, and it's ok.
In the last days, I deleted some archivedlogfiles manually, it's a possible reason for the accident?

Thanks in advance for your help, I really give up

    ************************************************************************
You have choice to free up space in the recovery area:
1 consider changing STRATEGY OF RETENTION of RMAN. If you are using Data Guard
then consider changing POLICY of DELETE ARCHIVELOG RMAN.
2 back up files on a tertiary device such as a tape with RMAN
    SAFEGUARDING RECOVERY AREA command.
    3. Add space drive and increase the db_recovery_file_dest_size setting to
    reflect the new space.
4 remove the unnecessary files using the RMAN DELETE command. If a service
the system control has been used to remove the files, and then use the RMAN DUPLICATION and
    Commands DELETE has EXPIRED.

Of course, there are enough physically free space.
So, I gave more space on pfile "db_recovery_file_dest_size" and then recreated the spfile from pfile.
But the space problem has not resolved probably because he needed an order of overlap in RMAN
    as in option 4).
I tried ' RMAN > cuts across all alertlogs ", but it does not simply because it cannot connect to the instance!
Now I've forced the solution because I put the db in NOARCHIVELOG mode, but I know that it is not practical, so can you advise me in how to use the RMAN commands in these situations (RMAN-06171 not connected to the target database) in which is more useful?

    Thank you for your help

    maurog

It would be really, really useful if you use the copy and paste it from a command-line instead, if simply describing what you think that you did. 'overlapping alertlogs' is not a valid rman command.

  • Cannot start to any Windows media - BIOS, Linux okay.

Yesterday, on my Windows 7 Pro computer, I tried to access management of the computer via r - clicking on "Computer" and select "Manage", but apparently the link ceased to exist;  However, I could access it via "Administrative tools.". Curious to know how long it lasts, I tried a system restore, that actually do anything, so I tried to restore to the rear.  Is where the real fun begins...

    The bluescreened to computer with the message "PROCESS1_INITIALIZATION_FAILED," SEO Stop: 0x0000006B (0xFFFFFFFFC000007A, 0 x 0000000000000006, 0 x 0000000000000000, 0 x 0000000000000000).
Now when I try to boot into Windows, I have to make a choice between "Start Windows normally" and "Repair", nor what kind of work.  'Normally' give me the blue screen and "Repair" will not work because my keyboard or mouse will work in a Windows environment.
I tried different mice, keyboards and plug it into different ports, but absolutely nothing, not even a cursor frozen on the screen.  I also tried a hot spare Win PE with the same result, as well as the Windows installation disc, and various Windows-based bootable USB flash drives - once again, several USB ports.  And Safe Mode is a 'no-go '.
HOWEVER, everything works perfectly in the UEFI BIOS and all the other screens prior to Windows.  AND I can boot into various Linux distributions installed on an SDHC card that is placed in a USB adapter.
You are using Linux, I was able to follow the instructions I found on the Microsoft Support, delete the Bootcat.cache file, located in C:\Windows\system32\codeintegrity.  That no longer works.
Any suggestions before I have turn this into a Linux computer?

What worked:  I was able to start Linux (Mint distribution has functioned well), and from there I used the Terminal to reformat the drive for ext2, a Linux file system.  I thought that it doesn't really matter what I used, because Windows don't want to reformat anyway; I want to just get rid of all that was to keep the HIDs work.

Then I started on the installation of W7 disc - believe me, I have never been happy to see a slider! -After all the wanton 'you can do that' messages I finally got things the way Windows he wanted and now W7 is installed, complete with mouse, keyboard and the 'computer' right click 'Manage' option intact.
I did all the instructions I used to reformat the drive using Linux;  If someone wants to, reply to this message and I'll paste them here.
  • (OBIEE11G install) - FAILURE to step 13, cannot start OPMN

    Hello
I try to install OBIEE 11 G, but I encountered some problems.

I can connect to Oracle Weblogic administration console.
I can connect to Oracle Fusion Middleware (Business Manager) control.

But, in the list of servers, I had only the server "Admin". The 'BI' server is not present.
In Enterprise Manager, the 'business intelligence core' application is not started, and I can't start. If I try, I get the following message:

My instance oracle process manager is not started in windows services. When I start it, it becames unstarted automatically later.

I tried to run one by one:
    \wlserver_10.3\server\bin\startNodeManager.cmd
    \user_projects\domains\bifoundation_domain\bin\startWebLogic.cmd
... like it is mentioned in the following topic: cannot start process oracle obiee11g Manager

or to use the BI service 'stop' then 'start service BI '.

but the Bi server is still not present.

I can connect to services presentation OBIEE ("http://localhost \analytics"), but do not display the webcat sample graphics (I don't know if it is related to the absence of bi server), and I can not open online repository (it's probably linked, this time!).

    You have any ideas?

    Published by: A. Drieux May 15, 2013 09:30 - title change

    Hello

During installation if you have selected the option 'Install' as 'Easy install', then you won't find BI Server in the administration Console.
The administrator of the server itself will act as a server of BI. And also the port to access the URL BI 7001.
Only in 'Enterprise install', you will get separate BI server.

    Kind regards

  • How to install the web 32-bit server on Oracle Linux 7 (64 bit) for Siebel SWE?

    Hello community,

    [siebel@sbl-lab bin] $. / startapa

httpd: syntax on line 503 of /opt/siebel/apache/conf/httpd.conf error: structure of the API module 'swe_module' in the file /opt/siebel/apache/modules/libmod_swe.so is garbled - signature expected 41503234 but 41503232 - perhaps it is not an Apache DSO module, or has been compiled for a different version of Apache?

I've been contemplating installing a chroot, a container or even another virtual machine exclusively for the web server.

Before proceeding with additional measures that I might regret, could you please how you would proceed in this case?

    Thanks in advance

    Kind regards

Nevermind, I checked certifications and Apache 2.2 should be used instead of Apache 2.4

Using RAW could be the problem. I'm not sure someone who has used Virtual Box with raw disks for their RAC testbed. Most people use ASM. I've seen a few people use NFS as well. You'll also want to stay away raw because that which is frowned upon in 11.2. See http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/install.112/e41962/whatsnew.htm#RILIN931

Under the Options deprecated for Oracle RAC 11 g Release 2:

"Installation of files on raw devices is no longer an option available during installation. You must use a shared file system, or using Oracle Automatic Storage Management. »

Here's how to configure RAC on my laptop with Virtual Box: http://www.peasland.net/2015/04/23/oracle-rac-on-my-laptop-with-virtual-box/

  • VM Player 3: VM Oracle Linux 5 connection errors

    People,

Hello. I am running Oracle Linux 5 VM Player 3. The host OS is Windows 7.

3 VM and Oracle Linux player 5 worked properly for a long time. Today, it happens a strange error below:

After starting Oracle Linux 5 VM Player 3, I type in user name and password to connect. It takes a few minutes abnormally. 6 mistakes then comes one by one below:

    1) an error occurred during the loading or saving of the configuration information for Nautilus. Some of your configuration settings may not work correctly.

I click on the "Détails" button and the following message appears:

Failed to contact configuration server; Among the possible causes are that you must enable TCP/IP for ORBit network features, or you have NFS locks defective due to a failure of the system.

see http:// www.gnome.org/projects/gconf/ for more information.

    Details-

1: IOR file "/ tmp/gconfd-user/locking/ior" No. successfully opened. No gcond located: no such file or directory.

2: IOR file "/ tmp/gconfd-user/locking/ior" not open successfully, no location gconfd: no such file or directory.

    2) an error occurred during the loading or saving of the configuration information for the Power Manager. Some of your configuration settings may not work correctly.

In the popup Window Power Manager, there is a yellow triangle with black!

The message is: the GConf, schema Setup error battery_low_percentage cannot be zero.

    3) an error occurred during the loading or saving of the configuration information for print notifier. Some of your configuration settings may not work correctly.

I click on the 'Détails' button, the message is the same with error 1) Details.

    4) an error occurred during the loading or saving of the configuration information for gnome-settings-daemon. Some of your configuration settings may not work correctly.

I click on the 'Détails' button, the message is the same with error 1) Details.

    5) an error occurred during the loading or saving of the configuration of gnome-sessioninformation. Some of your configuration settings may not work correctly.

I click on the 'Détails' button, the message is the same with error 1) Details.

    6) there was an error at startup of GNOME Settings Daemon.

Some things, such as themes, sounds or background settings can not work properly. The last error message was:

Has not received a response. Possible causes include: the remote application has not sent a response. Blocked bus message security policy response. The response period expired, or the network connection was broken. GNOME will always try to restart the settings Daemon next time that you log on.

After a few minutes, desktop screen becomes black background with all the icons on it.

But no bar. I can't click anywhere to run.

This is the first time for me to cope with such a strange mistake. I do not understand what causes this kind of errors.

I checked VM > Settings > hard drive > capacity:

    Current size: 96.9 GB

Free system: 41.7 GB (there is free space on the Windows 7 host drive)

    Maximum size: 100 GB

I created the virtual hard disk for Oracle Linux 5 as 100 GB. The current size of 96.9 GB indicates 96.9 GB 100 GB has been used. So, 100 GB - GB 96.9 = 3.1 GB.

    My questions are:

    (1) how much free disk space is required to start the Oracle VM Linux 5?

    (2) what are the causes of the 6 mistakes when connect to Oracle Linux 5?

    (3) does "not enough disk space of vm" cause 6 mistakes when connecting Oracle Linux 5?

    (4) how to fix errors?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

For the question on what is LVM see: Logical Volume Manager (Linux) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

For tips on how - to use LVM, please see this article:

Linux Sysadmin: How to manage LVMs with a GUI

Before you can add more space, you need to resize your virtual drive and make more great or you will need to add another virtual disk to the virtual machine.

The/3 GB to use is only available for the root user as it is in the safety margin of 5%.

If Linux, UI drag / move uses a temporary folder, then is under/tmp

To find out where disk space is used, the commando of the can be used.

Use the command "of the man" learn more about the options.

    for example.

    of the - SH/tmp

will show how using the tmp folder.

    The - SH/home

shows how much space takes the home folder

  • R12 Quick Installation on Suse Linux or Oracle Linux fails

    Hello

I tried several combinations of operating systems to try and install correctly using the Oracle R12 / quick installation but I could not. My last attempt was on Suse Linux 10. When the installation wizard is complete, database checks are successful but HTTP server is unresponsive and all subsequent checks fail.

The reading of google and the various threads on this forum, I found that for Oracle Linux, we must apply the patch that contains libdb.so.2. Since then, I do not have an account to support oracle, I cannot get this fix and based on rules, no body can send it in an email, which means that we can not install this distribution on Oracle Linux without having to pay for the supported. Since then, it is a learning exercise without the use of serious production of R12 apps, we do not have any arrangement with Oracle support.

For Suse, I also have the same problem, but when I try to start the opmn manually using opmnctl beginning, she responds with message, began. But when I use opmn stopall, the computer stops responding. Now, I don't know yet how to start debugging this problem.

I would give just to try to install it or there at - it a hope?

    Thank you.

    Hello

I finally managed to install R12 on Suse Linux Enterprise 10 SP3. I decided to start again after a repair for the past two days. Here's the process:

    a. install Suse Enterprise 10 SP3 with office and all development packages offered in the facility.

    b. click the computer--> install the software--> search for the 'db1 '. It will give you two or more packages. Install db1_185xx (from Berkley). This provides a required libdb.so.2.

    c. then go through the installation as outlined in the instructions using rapidwiz.

It fills correctly and I can see the login screen now.

Now, I need to know how to put in place to automatically start all services after startup.

    Thank you for your help.

    Kind regards

    Hello

It seems that your ASMLIB has not yet identified the discs.
So I guess after changing ASMLIB (uninstall) you forgot to redo the configuration.

Can you do an asmlib set up?

In addition, it is recommended to overwrite a partition and not on the disk itself.
So if you did, you might want to query/dev/xvdd * 1 instead of/dev/xvdd *.

  • PS6100 with firmware version 7.0.5 + Oracle Linux 5.10 + multipathd question

I try to use the multipath regular linux (device-map-multipath) with my PS6100 and it doesn't quite work. It gives me "readsector0 Auditor reports path is down," "pdu (op 0 x 50000370 itt 0x1) rejected.» Code 0 x 4 reason"errors and my iSCSI connections are reset every few seconds. My OS is Oracle Linux 5.10 (fully updated) and my PS6100 is running with the latest firmware version 7.0.5.

The latest kit from Dell STRUCK for Linux, 1.3.0-2, works fine on this machine, but the reason why I'm putting multipathd is to compare the performance between the two solution. If we look at the other system we have that run the ordinary multipathd, paths of Dell could give us performance. We doubt it, but we want to do the tests and a comparison of its performance stats.

We have another server which has almost the same configuration (same OS connected to an another PS6100) and multipathd works well on this one. And one of the difference between this system and no work is that the PS6100 is running on firmware 5.2.5 instead of 7.0.5. I'd be willing to downgrade firmware (this unit is not yet in production, and I don't mind losing the data on it) but I'm not find anything on the internet that show how other that of the "call from Dell and it'll do it for you. If the only thing you need to do is a special command in the CLI then why there is no documentation on this subject?

So I wonder if anyone here runs a firmware equallogic 7.0.5 with the multipathd of linux and a RedHat 5 of operating system (Oracle Linux, Redhat, CentOS, etc.)?

    Hello

It is documented in the release notes for the firmware 7.0.x.  There is a bug in Multipathd, which is exposed with 7.0.x. firmware.   Replace readsector0 TUR or ARM and restart multipathd.  Protocol errors will stop and Linux MPIO works perfectly.
