Default HP 8620

I also have an hp printer from cp1025 on a wireless network. I want the tobe 8620 the default printer that is displayed first.  Also, I have to always disabled printing on option 2 faces.  I can't get these changed, any recommendations? Thank you very much!

Hello

Go to system preferences on Rpinters & faxes, they select the default printer.

Open the print dialog box of the documne print
NOTE: The print window might be minimized. Click Show details to display all available parameters.

Click on the area of selection below, listed as the name of the program (e.g. TextEdit)
Will appear as Copies & Pages within Microsoft Office applications.

Select layout from the drop-down.

Set the duplex as Off option to disable duplex pritning

Now you can save the settings for later use by clicking preset > save current settings as preset. By default, a used preset will remain until another preset will be used.

Kind regards

  • 8620 + 2nd plateau: 8620 + 2nd default tray always in Tray 1 even when tray 2 is selected

    Hello

I have a new 8620, so I bought the 2nd set of HP direct.

I use an Imac with OSX El Capitan.

I loaded in all the normal paper bins.

I have put 1 as a defuault tray tray. When I try and print via my text editing software or any other software and I select tray 2 into the presets, it ALWAYS prints from Tray 1. The only way, he goes to tray 2 If Tray 1 is empty.

I have change the default to tray 2 and then select Tray1 to print and it will not print at all.

The software is not acutally allowing me to use as 2 separate trays.

I use 2 documents of standard 8.5 x 11 for my business, but one is for invoices and I need to be able to select different trays.

Also I noticed in the presets when selecting to print from the ADF, it will also not print from there, he pulls from Tray 1 again.

    Thank you

  • OfficeJet Pro 8620: Problem with two-sided printing by default settings Officejet Pro 8620.

On my MAC, I opened the preferences system - print & Scan - Options & supplies, the pop up window only contains two tabs: Gerneral and power levels. The other tabs such as the default settings are not displayed. So I can't set default 2 Facer of printing. In such a case, I find that I can always print both ways in the face of some software where I can change the settings for print specifically in this software. But I can't change the settings of the printer in Adobe Acrobat format, because change is always through the same interface as I mention above. How I solve the problem? I am connected to my printer via wifi. Thank you.

    Hello

In Adobe Acrobat, open the print dialog box, and then click on the "Printer" button... "to access the print dialog box standard operating system.

There should not be a default on a Mac tab, the settings can be saved as default recording these as a preset in the print dialog box, then a used preset will be default.

  • HP 8620: by default, assistant hp printer connected instead of opening on laptop

The Printer Wizard does not more open on my desk so I can't start analyses unless you use Panel on the 8620.   Instead of opening, it brings me on the HPConnected site online.  Nothing helps to solve this problem.  I uninstalled and reinstalled the printer several times.  Used to fix in the past when this has happened, but not today

    Hi @sharon-jordan.

Sorry to hear that the HP printer Assistant is still not open correctly after all what you tried. I would contact HP Technical Support by phone. They have the opportunity to make a log in session and might be able to determine what is happening and how to fix.

What you can do, is to use the following link to create yourself a file number, then call and it can help to expedite the appeal process:

  • HP OfficeJet Pro 8620: RDP 8620 Officejet prints strange lines

I tried to find an answer to this for almost a month.

We have a HP Officejet Pro 8620 and we want to be able to print from a remote computer to ours. The printer is shared.  We'll call the local computer pc1 and the computer remote pc2. PC1 remotes in pc2 using a standard Windows 7 Remote Desktop connection. PC1 sharing their printer with pc2 by redirect. the sharing of each resource to which is connected to it. PC1 is trying to print, and then waits. The printer that is connected to the pc1 via USB cable gives us a message that looks like this of course is not what we want when we try to print an Excel worksheet. No, this is not the complete document. This is the first 1/3 or the page and the rest is completely white. It almost looks like a code any. I installed the drivers on ppc1 both pc2. I tried the drivers universal instaslling. I was told that get this work 4 years ago was very easy, but I could not crack. Any advice or assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Problem has been resolved by the default driver. Has not reappeared since we have updated for the generic driver for 8600. Had to install the driver on the two machines.

    Hello

Thank you for using the forum.

You can try creating a TCP/IP port?

    Creating a TCP IP port

    1. Print a Configuration Page to get the printer IPv4 address (you can also tap on the icon wireless on the front panel of your printer to obtain the IP address)
    2. On your PC, go to control panel configuration, devices and printers, right-click the printer and on the left, click printer properties, select the Ports tab.
    3. Click Add Port, select the Port TCP/IP Standard, then New Port and follow the instructions in the wizard.
    4. Type the IP address for the printer.

Note that you can ALWAYS go back to the original port the HP software installed by selecting the HP port on the Ports tab (in the properties of the printer)

    Thank you.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8620: WiFi will not turn off

Because of a problem with my modem compatible wireless (the problem being that its ethernet ports became defective), for awhile, I had turn the WiFi feature to provide Internet connectivity to my iMac.  Similarly, for the first time, I enabled WiFi on my HP Officejet Pro 8620 so I could keep a printing capability.

Once my new modem arrived, I restored my complete ethernet network between the modem, my iMac (and other devices) and the Office jet printer 8620 Pro.  Everything works fine now!

However, the printer Officejet Pro 8620 WiFi ability not shut down despite the operation by an ethernet cable and there is no WiFi from my modem.  I know the Officejet Pro 8620 always emits WiFi like my iPad and my iPhone indicate that it is.  As my wife is concerned about these RF transmissions that are on the other side of the wall adjacent to our bed, she asked me to turn off the Officejet Pro 8620 WiFi.  I've restored the "Default network" printer, but this is not the case.

According to the instructions of the printer, 'Wireless does not work with an Ethernet cable connected to the printer' However this is clearly not there.  How can I solve this?

Your WiFi is turned off.  Your wireless Direct is not off.  Disable wireless directly into the printer.   Info is in the User Guide.

Right out of the gate, I see 10 Windows isn't an option of operating system for the advice of the forum.  I have upgraded to Windows 10, bought a new HP OfficeJet Pro 8620 for its digitization, fax features.  I'm doing some legal work and have lawyers and clients who have Spanish names - I use "n" quite often.  This character is printed in the index, what's not worked for me.

I noticed the same thing happening with my color HP LaserJet 200 M251.  When I choose printers, the color laserjet printer gives me a PCL driver option and it solves the problem.  There is no option with the OfficeJet Pro 8620.  I downloaded and installed the latest updates of pilot on both printers and it is always the case.  I feel like it is a bug of Windows 10 - someone ' one knows how to fix this?

  • OfficeJet 8620: OfficeJet HP 8620-"Web Services has been disabled!"

About 6 months ago I bought an OfficeJet 8620.  It worked fine for 6 months.

It is connected via WiFi using a DHCP address, and the network as the scanning options to the network folder and Web admin are working very well.

I can access the printer Windows 10 PC, iPad Pro and 27 "iMac with OSX 10.

I decided I want to enroll in the program HP ink instant - so I tried to enable it.  Through the web administration page, I discovered that 'Services Web has been disabled!   Please contact your administrator or the person who set up the printer.

Any attempt to install or activate the web services (either through the admin web or printer) translates the same error.

I have reset the printer to factory defaults and the error is the same.

I'm completely unable to implement web services.

I don't know what should be the next step.

Welcome to the Forums of HP and thank you for your efforts so far @Hexland, I accept the challenge of helping you get this to work.

From your description of the issue, and what you've already tried, I think it would be best to reset the most complete.

There are a growing number of messages in this forum and elsewhere in the internet with the steps to do a reset on different printers.  Reset to will sometimes fix problems, so resetting is not the issue.

A few resets require you to enter key combinations to open special menus on your printer that you were supposed to never access.  These special menus are used by developers and staff support for debugging of problems, but they are not intended for inexperienced users and can have unexpected results.  A wrong button push and you might no longer have a printer, but rather an expensive paper weight.  On top of that, if you happen to the 'brick' the printer in this way, it is considered as customer induced damage and voids the warranty automatically. These resets are only intended to be distributed and used as a last resort and under the direct instruction of a representative of the HP technical support. They should not be made lightly!

  • OfficeJet 8620: Setting up the FAX for Officejet 8620 - auto-reply & cord "Fail".

I met two problems after setting up my new Officejet 8620.

I followed the instructions to connect the printer, use the phone cord supplied by HP.  Repeated trials insist "FAIL" to "Correct Type of phone cord with Fax." I tried to reset hard a few times without change to the result of the test.

The fax works: I can send and receive faxes, but why the "FAIL"? I see other messages of forum, it is a common problem.

Second issue is that the automatic response is set on "ON", but the fax does not answer incoming calls. I get the message on the display screen giving me the options to 'Ignore' or 'Accept' and pressing 'Accept' results in the fax that crosses, but I need "Auto answer" function of the machine to work. The 8620 is not connected to an answering machine. It is connected directly to the telephone wall jack. Also, I disabled the voicemail on this phone line service, so there should not be anything by interfering with the automatic response.

I would appreciate help to solve these problems.

Hello @hpuser24333 , Welcome to the forums

I read your post on the concerns and issues that you run into with your Officejert 8620, and I wanted to tender hand to share my ideas with you.

I would recommend a factory reset of the printer and run through the Setup again. I hope that you won't encounter the same problems again, however, if you do, please give us a call.

    1. On the printer, select the configuration Menu, tools, Restore Factory Defaults, Yes, restart the printer.
    2. When the power is back on select Configuration, configuration Fax, Fax Setup Wizard, Yes, continue through the installation program.

    Hi @Poppy123,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

Looks like you are trying to connect the printer to a 5.0 GHz network. The printer cannot see or connect to the 5.0 GHz network. If you have a double router broadband, the 2.4 GHz network. The name of each network must be unique.

    • What is the model number of your router?
    • What type of encryption are you helping? HP recommends WPA/WPA 2.
    • Is updated firmware on the router?
    • Depending on the version of Windows you have, click here to find the update of the firmware of the printer.
    • Make sure you have 802.11 g active.
    • Don't hide your SSID (network name).
    • The network name is case sensitive, enter it in upper case to the printer if necessary.
    • Move the printer closer to the router if the signal is weak.

If the problem persists, perform a factory reset on the router, reconfigure the wireless again. Before you configure the wireless to the printer, to restore the default settings of the network and do a hard reset.

    • The front panel of the printer menu, select Setup-> network-> Restore network defaults.

    Now, do a hard reset:

    • Let the printer and disconnect the printer cable and the wall socket for 60 seconds.
    • Reconnect the power cable to the output of the printer and the wall, and not a surge protector. This ensures that the printer is full on and can help this situation.
    • Make sure that the printer is connected directly to a wall outlet (do not use a bar or a surge protector). This ensures that the printer is full on and can help this situation.
    • Now, try to connect the printer wireless again.

Please reply to this message with the result of your troubleshooting. I can't wait to hear strings attached good luck! :

Is there a way I can do?

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Thank you, David

Please come back to us @DavidEagle.

HevnLgh is absent today, so I thought I would try to offer assistance.

Just to clarify, are you referring to the HP Support Assistant or HP Printer Wizard?

Did you install the full feature software? If not, click here to download and install the HP (HP printer Assistant) software.

What were the results when you ran the printing and scanning doctor (she print or scan, error messages)?

Please provide details, what you mean by you can't scan manually?

    • You are able to make a copy?

    • Using the ADF (ADF) or the scanner bed flat?

    • Try to perform analysis of scanning HP and the façade, what were the results?

Disable the programs that could interfere:

Tips for a successful wireless connection:

    • What type of encryption are you helping? HP recommends WPA or WPA2.

    • Using a unique network name (SSID).

    • Do not use a network of comments (SSID).

    • Avoid using filtering by Mac address of the router.

    • Make sure you have 802.11 g active.

    • The printer cannot connect to the 5.0 GHz network. If you have a double router broadband, the 2.4 GHz and 5.0 GHz network names are not the same. Rename the 5.0 GHz network.

    • Don't hide your SSID (network name).

    • Change the router channel fixed wireless as the 1, 6 or 11, who less than traffic.

    • You have a switch or an extra router?

    • Disable UPnP on the router.

    • Set the router to 20 Mhz only, or 145Mbps depending on the router.

    • Update the firmware on the router.

Disable IPV6 in front panel of the printer menu:

    • Configuration menu

    • Network configuration

    • Wireless settings

    • Advanced settings

    • IPv6, select Off

Please, try the steps in these guides:

Ensure that your router and firewall do not block these ports.

    • Scanning: The UDP port: 427 TCP ports: 9220, 9500

    • Try to scan USB, what were the results?

If the problem persists, it is a good idea to assign the printer a static IP address outside your DHCP range. For example, some routers default DHCP is located between 192.168.0.100 to 192.168.0.200. So, I would use 192.168.0.232.

To assign the static IP address, use the following steps as a guide.

    1. Print a Page of Network Configuration menu of the printer front panel. Note the IP IPV4 of the printer address.

    2. Type the IP address in the browser to bring up the SAP.

  • Choose the network tab, then wireless on the left side, and then select the IPv4 tab.

  • Select Manual IP.

  • Enter your IP address manual (192.168.0.232)

  • Enter 255.255.255.0 for the subnet mask, except if it is different.

  • Enter the IP address of your router that sits on the Network Configuration Page) for the default gateway.

  • Please, click on manual DNS server. For the preferred DNS Server Manual please enter 8.8.8.8 and the Alternate DNS Server Manual, please enter 8.8.4.4.

  • Click on apply.

  • Restart the router, the printer and the computer.

  • Test scanning.

  • I hope this information is useful. Please reply to this message with the results. Good luck!

OK, I was screwing around for this for 2 hours and I can't print on photo Paper in the printer. It prints on plain paper - but not photo paper.

Once again... no problem if I print on plain paper.

  • OfficeJet pro 8620: how to connect my laptop directly to my officejet pro 8620

    Hello

I appreciate what may be a simple question so apologies in advance!   I've been printing for a while but now need to print directly from my laptop without using the wireless connection wireless.   Please can you advise how to do this?  I tried to plug in an ethernet cable but it doesn't seem to work, and although I tried to look online guides, that I can't find an answer that works in EEM.

    Thanks in advance

    Hello

Thank you for using the HP Forums.

You can use a USB cable to connect directly to your printer.  (do not connect the USB cable first! Read more on how to add a new printer (connection))

You will need to install the software to add the extra connection.

Assuming that you have installed the FULL features software, follow these steps to add the USB connection:

    1. click on start. Programs > HP > HP Officejet Pro 8620 > click on the printer

(you can also click the icon of the printer on the desktop)

    2. This will bring up the HP printer Assistant

    3. go to "Tools" > Device Setup & Software

("Note: this is not available in step 1: Device Setup and software")

    4. connect a new printer.

    5. DO NOT connect the USB cable until you are prompted to do so by the software!

Once installed, the USB should be the default printer.  If you want to print using the wireless again, you will need to select the correct printer with wireless as a result.

    Hope that helps!
