DMM 5.2 Installation on HP DL380

I'm trying to get the DMM software installed on a HP DL380G5 which is the equivalent version of a MCS7835.   I need to get the working configuration started while I'm waiting for the customer to ship equipment.  The DMM software stands up and says that it is not material support.  Does anyone know how to get the software to load on this server?

I'm sorry.  Software installed on a platform not supported is not allowed.

In fact, as the Digital Media Manager DMS & Show products and sharing

are "devices".  The software already installed on the server unless it is a

upgrade to an earlier version.

If you have a demo version of VMware images obtained from Cisco, these images

It will work perfectly in a VMware environment on the HP servers.

I have a dl380 G3 and a Dell 2650 available.  Hardware Guide says that ESX3.5 U 5 is supported.  I think I read it correctly.  What I would like to have is a hypervisor, according to me, the os and VirtualHost combined into a single entity. I would like to install this on a cd.  I could download ESXi 3.5 U5 (I reg #).  Is it the same thing as U5 ESX3.5?  Uncertain as to the differences.  If not, how can I download ESX3.5?, as it is ESXi3.5 I have hangs during installation on the DL380.

Perhaps reasking in another forum?  Maybe get some help with my existing ESXi installation?  Where should I go from here?

    ESX is not free.

To have the old edition 3.5, you must buy the 4.x and then ask a downgrade of the license.

  • Weird question on which the machine virtual ESX 3.5i

    Hello world

I have a question very very weird on 2 x HP DL380 G5 boxes with ESX 3.5i U3 loaded on each.

    The installation program:

    DL380 G5

    2 x Quad core

    2 x 72 GB Raid 1 + 0

    6 x 146 GB Raid5

    32 GB OF RAM

I installed esx 3.5i u3 according to the normal, created vm. But when I copy data to a network in the virtual machine folder spikes the cpu and the virtual machine does not respond. What makes it worse, is if I copy a large file on the c: to another folder on c: VM does not - high cpu and ping meets about 200ms. vmdk bones all over the 72 GB Raid 1 + 0 datastore. When I add a data from the store of raid5 data drive the same phenomenon occurs. If I copy the c to this drive on the raid 5 data store the virtual machine gets does not and pings hover at about 200ms.

    Any ideas?

I have no idea why this is happening, Ive deployed the same configuration with a bunch of vm and no problem.

I don't think its network since you said that you have the same problem copy from c: to c: on the same machine.

Looks like the machine is waiting for e/s finish. Check if you can see if I/O is blocked somewhere

Are there messages in the system log of Windows indicating disk problems?

Check your RAID controller. It is on the HCL?

Your write cache is configured correctly?

  • Mysterious problem - HP DL380 G7 Server - ESXi installs but won't start

Someone has already seen this? I have a new DL380 G7 server, I have 8 drives and installation with 2 bays, RAID10 (4 discs). ESXi 4 DVD comes from an ISO, I downloaded from HP (and have used on other servers as DL380 G6 without problem). The installation goes by at the end asks me to restart, and then I remove the DVD and restart. The controller, SmartArray P410 is defined as the boot device (there is one in the system) and I even try the F11 at startup and tell it to boot from HD... the screen is blank for a second then the server tries the other boot devices (network, etc.).

I am really puzzled. During installation, the installer sees the two logical drives very well. I took LogicalDrive0 to install to.

    Thoughts? I'm puzzled.

I agree with the suggestion of J1mbo . It is a good way to make sure that you install the operating system/ESXi on the expected logical volume.

Another possible way to make sure that you install on the logical volume is created volumes with slightly different sizes. (I usually create one with only 10 GB for ESXi). In this way, you will be able to take the logic unit number in the Setup program based on its size.

  • WAAS-DMM installation

    Hello

We develop a media solution in our laboratory. I was asked to mount a disk WAAS in the DMM. And I got a single Module of NME-WAE-522-K9. We use a small software module AXP internally so that it will download the external data CMS files to the local network. In the meantime, I tried to configure a WAAS using the WAE module I. I have configured the WAE with WCCP v2... It runs in the accelerator mode. I have activated the company and licensed video.

After having done that, I tried to give the ip address of wae the option "Mount WAAS" DMM. But I got error when I do that.  I guess I can use the same device WAE as Cache CIFS to ride like WAAS in DMM.  I have attached the screenshot to configure WAE and the preposition along wit HLA DMM screen.

    Please advice.

    Thank you

    JK

    JR,

I'm not an expert of WAAS, so I won't be able to help you... but

for troubleshooting don't worry on the DMM or the DMS stuff

yet.  You will need to ensure the WAAS works first.

You use the laptop first to try to set up the CIFS share you configured

WAAS.  Once you can mount and copy files to and from the

WAAS share from your laptop, then move to the next step with the

DMS stuff.  Don't forget to save the credentials to access

    the part (if any).

Then can you access the share with success of your laptop and copy

    files to and from?

    See you soon!

  • DMM

    Hello

H NIDMM 3.0.6 installation but I couldn't find examples in there.

I have woul dsincerely grateful if you can help me to find the examples for the DMM OR C.

    Thank you

    -Sulva

    Hello Sulva,

Examples in ANSI C are not installed by default. You will have to activate their installation by going to add/remove programs, and clicking on National Instruments software. In the list in the pop-up menu choose NOR DMM 3.0.6 and press the button Edit in the following pop-up window, navigate to Modular Instruments > NOR-DMM 3.0.6> > Microsoft Visual C++ Support and right click and select 'install this feature to local drive.

Once this is done installing you should be able to find examples by going to Start > all programs > National Instruments > NOR-DMM > examples

  • myDAQ new installation self-test fails 88705

    My environment:

8.1 Windows 64 bit running under Oracle VirtualBox Version 4.3.20 running Mac OS x on a MacBook Pro 2012 10.10.1. I have no prior exposure to work with myDAQ, LabView, or any tool of NOR.

I downloaded NIELVIS1400_downloader.exe for Windows 8.1 to ni.com and it is finished.

During installation I secured guarded against the problems of Win8FastStartup by stopping and restarting the PC when asked.

After the installation when I plugged it physically in the myDAQ device, it was recognized by Windows 8.1 because Device Manager has the 'data acquisition' entries under which "NEITHER myDAQ" appears. For NEITHER myDAQ device status is 'this device is functioning.

When the myDAQ was physically connected, the window "NI ELVISmx Instrument Launcher" popped up. I clicked on the icon 'How to set up your hardware' and the 'get started Guide... "pop up. I checked the blue LED on the device came and it is stable on. I went to "2. Paragraph confirms the recognition of the devices"in implementing on the way, guide and follow the instructions to start the automatic test. There not as described above.

I noticed similar problems have been reported in the past. Closest to my problem reported by flex11 on 05/05/2014. Reading through I don't see any resolution itself. Another similar problem was solved by manually starting the service 'NOR device charger '. In my case, this service is already running. "NO license server" is the only service stopped, but I guess that's normal for myDAQ.

I don't have any other product OR installed on the PC.

I'm sure there is a simple solution to this problem, but I'm afraid it's escape. I'd appreciate any help I can get through this forum.

Thanks for getting back to me. Your answer gave me stamina I had to move forward.

I installed http://www.ni.com/download/ni-daqmx-14.2/5046/en/ and finally managed to do work. The exact boot sequence I need is:

    (1) delete myDAQ by USB port and then start Windows 8.1 under VirtualBox.

    (2) after that Windows 8.1 will appear, fix myDAQ on a USB port. If a pop-up window appears asking you to respond, ignore (at the beginning I did not ignore it and myDAQ transformed into a charger USB device firmware such as reported by Device Manager).

    (3) at this stage most likely "VirtualBox VM features-online USB Devices" drop-down menu shows "National Instruments NI myDAQ [0003]" as an entry but without a check mark to the left of the name. Bring the cursor to the left of the name and click here. You should now see a check mark there.

    (4) my myDAQ Self tests started working.

However, I need the functionality provided by ELVIS as well. So I uninstalled http://www.ni.com/download/ni-daqmx-14.2/5046/en/ and installed from NI ELVISmx 14.0. My boot sequence that I have reported above, didn't work. Just at the moment it's just happened that Oracle has released Version 4.22 of VirtualBox that I wanted to try and ELVIS started to run. I can now use myDAQ DMM.

One thing that contributed to my problems is fruitless attempts to uninstall the software OR. Unsuccessful uninstalls leave garbage behind who can or cannot cause problems in subsequent relocations. In one case, I'm done with the nidevldu (OR charger) service stuck in the system. I had to do a reset Windows 8.1 recovery operation to get rid of him. I decided to restart Windows 8.1 before uninstalling the software. This ensures that there is nothing in the limbo that past can interfere with a successful uninstallation.

  • NOR-DMM vs IVI - DMM - Soft Front Panel

    Hi all

I've developed a test application that will subsequently use a PXI-4070 DMM (currently simulating it OR max).  I used the IVI DMM functions, but ran into a problem when I couldn't do a diode test (diode test is apparently not officially normalized according to by IVI yet).  So I've been using the functions OR DMM. Essentially, it's a pretty seamless transition, but there is one thing that I was not able to replicate with the NOR-DMM simulation I could do with the IVI - DMM.  When I used the IVI - DMM features and ran the VI, an open popup that enabled me to get into the simulated value I wanted the DMM to read.  I can't get this to work with functions OR DMM.  Is this possible?  If Yes please let me know how to activate it.  Thank you.

    GSinMN

The advanced simulation exists only on the level of Class IIA (IviDmm) driver. Class IVI drivers implement the functions of simulation using pilots of the simulation. IVI Compliance Package (PIC) installs a driver simulation for each class IVI driver. Each pilot simulation of plugs for the pilot of the corresponding class and performs the simulation of flexible output data. The NOR-DMM is a specific driver that supports the DMM series NOR and therefore does not include the functionality of advanced simulation.

  • error occurs, DMM software repair, error goes far - rinse and repeat

This error first happened early last year, then it took place last month and now he's out twice this week.  What could cause a missing library repeatedly disappear?

The error is in TestStand, but originally in in LabVIEW:

I don't remember not what I did the first time I saw this error, but the last three times it happened that I fixed it by repairing OR DMM installation:

    Hi Jim,.

I looked through the technical report and nothing really stood out. Something obvious that we could / should do is to 3.0.2, which is compatible with LV 8.2.1 OR DMM. Technical report, I noticed that you have LV 8.5, which supports the DAQmx 9.2.2 and the latest versions of our drivers. You can check if you have the same problem when the screws are saved in LabVIEW 8.5. "' To do so, you would just open your compilation project and the mass, or if it's just a VI go Tools" Advanced "mass compile. Let me know if any of these steps resolves the problem.

  • DMM worm 5.2.3 changing root PW

    Colleagues of Cisco,

    QUESTION:

What are the potential impacts of the change to the superuser password?

    ENVIRONMENT:

I have about 40 DMP on a very large company (several locations, Windows Active Directory, LAN, DMM & DMX), with the installation of pretty basic / default for most (schedules and users having control over their own content).

    WHY:

My predecessor has left my organization and I am new this particular system, but this change is part of the policy here.

    LINKS:

All hyperlinks to useful resources are greatly appreciated (although, please note that I already have the official Cisco docs, for example install/admin Guide).

    Thank you

    Paul

    REFERENCE:

There is an excellent explanation of the procedure here:

    http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/docs/video/digital_media_systems/5_x/5_3/DMS/AAI/Administration/Guide/pwadmin.html#wp1079563

    .

There is no impact.  The root password is used only to connect to the graphical interface of the DMM.  Now, if you were to change the password of the DMP in the DMM, then you must change it for your DMP or they would be disconnected from the DMM.  But the super user and the DMP passwords are two different things.

  • DMM 5.2.2 7835 H 2 DMM 5.4 VM migration

    Hi all

We are running DDM 5.2.2 on a MCS 7835 H 2 Server and use only the DMP 4400.  We are looking to migrate to DMM 5.4 as using our software upgrade contract.  I went through the options options/upgrade of migration and to understand the process of having to go through the 5.2.2 > 5.2.3 > 5.3 > 5.4 > 5.4.1.

But I don't have access to a a MCS 7835 H 3 or C210 server, but I have access to a C220M3.  Is there a migration route to take me to 5.2.2 for 5.4.1 running on our UCS B series taking place in VMWare 5.0?

I saw the migration document that references the migration of 7835H 2 for the C210 to http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/video/digital_media_systems/hw/platform/migration/dmm-mcs-ucs.html

But, as mentioned above do not have access to a C210 to undertake this.  Is there a way to take 5.2.2 configuration and this directly to import it into a new installation of 5.4 (I guess not).  can I use the C220 instead of the C210?  If possible can I run through the migration, do upgrades to get to DMM 5.4.1 install a double DMM 5.4.1 in VMware and backup the C220 and restore the installation of VMware?

    Thanks for any help.

    Concerning

    David

    Happy new year

    Hi David,

You can see a similar description in the following thread:

    https://supportforums.Cisco.com/thread/2190258

The answer is no, it is not a migration path official at this point if you have not already migrated it to C210 before, unfortunately. You need to trigger this to your Cisco team account in order to get help with this.

Best regards and happy new year,

  • DMS 5.4 Lab (demo) non Standard installation

    OBJECTIVE:

Install 5.4 on the available laboratory equipment.

    CURRENT SITUATION:

I have the software for v.5.4 (iso images, with demo licenses, here are the exact versions).

    • DMM - 5.3.0.244.iso
    • DMS-UPG-later - 5.4.0.736.iso

    IDEAL & UNLIKELY SOLUTION:

Install ESXi and then create a virtual computer, and then install on the virtual machine, or use something like that.

    POTENTIAL COMPROMISE:

I was advised to try to "Trick" the installation program and install directly on bare metal.

    QUESTIONS RELATING TO THE:

    1. Can anyone here advise me on what to try everything first, the best options and last ditch effort?
    2. I could potentially get this install on naked, non-standard extra material metal (I've got 2 boxes sitting around, the two are FIRST-NCS-APL-K9)
    3. Additional advice or reference URL/Docs, you can offer?

    REFERRING URL:

    Hi Paul,.

You can not achieve what you're trying to do with standard DMS software. Which can be installed on hardware support.

You must purchase the software Virtual DMM EGGS if you want to deploy a DMM as a virtual machine on custom hardware.

  • Cannot connect on DMM & SnS suddenly

    Hello

We manage the Cisco DMS 5.2 VmWare demo installation and today we are experiencing strange behavior. First license expired suddenly and after that the VmWare image has rebooted and same license apply again, he returned to normal.  Now, we are unable to connect to DMM or SnS of nowhere!

I tried to reboot the system, but without any vain. Also tried with 3 different admin combination name of user and password and (root/admin) without success.

However, the username/password admin working in the Cisco Digital Media Manager Appliance Administration Interface (IAA) and SnS!

Any input would be appreciated. THX!

    Maxim,

Since it is a configuration of VMware, the best is to go forward and

reinstall devices in VMware.  You have access to the

the IAA so you should be able to back up the configuration and

then perform a reinstall and restore the configuration.
