  • CD/DVD tray is not working properly

CD/DVD tray sometimes won't open.  When I push the button, tray slides in just a bit and then closes.  Little light also flashes once or twice.  This happens when I use the button on the tower and when I try to open the tray using the mouse control.  Discs seem to work very well when I get the drawer open.  Any ideas?  Thank you for your response the sentence to a man of 62 with little computer experience can understand it.

    Thank you!

It is most likely a mechanical problem, having nothing to do with Windows itself. The gears are plastic nowadays, controlling them the opening/closing of the drawer can be (probably are!) worn and sometimes jamming because of this. If this is the case, it will worsen. You have 3 options: 1) Baby it, 2) replace the drive, 3) fully replace the computer.

Sometimes a small part being out of alignment can make a sensor turn off inside the printer, so make sure you put everything back together right first.  Although you to act this way, looks at the printer closely for any broken pieces.  If you do not see what has obviously broken, try to do a hard reset.  Instructions that are below.  If the hard reset does not clear the error, the output bin sensor may be broken.  If this is the case, you will need to get a new printer, as the sensor is not repairable.

    To do a hard reset:
    1. make sure that the printer is turned on.
    2. pull on the power cord from the printer.
    3. pull out the power cord from the wall.
    4. wait for 30 seconds.
    5. plug in the printer and turn it on.

  • CD/DVD player open on its own - Equium L40

    Hello

I have a laptop Equium L40-10 X recently purchased from Pc World. It has been working fine until recently my reader of cd/dvd broke open on its own. I closed it and then about 10 minutes later he did it again. This happens from time to time. After some research I found that it could be a problem of spyware. Scanned and deleted all traces etc. Problem seemed to have disappeared, but alas, the disc once more burst open.

Recently the drive does not read disks as well. It seems to work when it wants at any time from 10 seconds up to an hour at a time. Things became an own mind... and when it doesn't, the button to open the player doesnâ? t seem to work. I have to use a paper clip to open the player.

I have a laptop haunted or there is something wrong.

Did someone has had an experience of something like it before or give me advice on what to do?

    Thank you, Jon.

    Hi mate

I didn't noticed anything like this before, but I assume that it s a mechanical problem.
Don t think that 3rd party software (program, spyware, virus, etc.) could cause this problem.
In addition, you said that the drive does not read disks as well.

In this case, I would recommend contacting the ASP in your country and ask for the disc and if necessary audit for a replacement disk WEIRD.

If the warranty is valid replacement should be done for free.

    Best regards
