CDROM and DVD report D:/not accessible win2k sp4 on new installation and trays open at startup

Just installed Win2K an old pc with w2k being what came with it originally.

Found problem when multiple upgrade files have been placed on a CD - R and then put in the CD on a new installation, and immediately it says D: / is not accessible and I think it says "service not taken in charge.

Sought, and it was suggested to simply eject the disc and try later.  This does not solve it. And not 3rd party software, at all.    Installed nero 6, CD works fine with a disc recorded in trade, such as the Windows 2000 installation disc;  But apparently a disc recorded from another pc, with Vista using the option to make a data disc in the Explorer of

After searching and trying several fixes, and read how others have tried but not corrected, Im trying to find the solution?

And what happens at the start, both players, CD and DVD just open doors / ejection by themselves.

During shutdown, the INCD app crashes and wont let close, but with or without nero or 3rd applications, the CD/DVD does not read a disc that I did.

A suggestion said to check that the registry HKLM... but the specified folder was not there yet.  Now I know how explore feels.

Ive searched but I'm still trying to find an exact solution for this, it's a pc to give to someone for Christmas

    Hello

Have you tried to update the CD/DVD drive?
You could go to the Device Manager and could remove the reader of CD/DVD from the list of devices.
Then, you must restart the laptop.
After restarting again the Windows operating system will recognize the new device as the CD/DVD drive and will initialize and reinstall the driver.

Then try using the new CD/DVD drive

So far, I have a cd which I can access, but I still get a message indicating "SONIC DLA - your version of DLA can read files on this drive, but you will not be able to change or add their.

Your error message comes from the software Sonic-letter of mission which is part of the suite of Sonic RecordNow.

I think that book books come with a pre installed = the version of Sonic, but I don't know if it includes DLA.

Unfortunately, I'm not familiar with the Sonic game produced, but I guess it must be some configuration or settings required for DLA allow the use of ease & slide. I suggest that you check your settings to ensure that they are compatible with your system.

  • frequently viewed topics report does not increase the number of new hit

    Hi experts,

I have a project published on RH 9 server with webhelp pro. the frequent search term gives me reasonable counties, each time when the same search term, the number has increased. but the report of frequently viewed topics does not increase the number for the topic I clicked several times (whenever I have click on another topic and then return to click on the same subject). adobe support told me that I should close the window, then re - open the link and click again on the topic, but it still doesn't work. We finally know is that I have to delete all historical data in the cache and reopen the window, then click on the same subject, then the County will go through one.

I wonder if this behavior is normal or not. If it is normal, how to use this report?

    Thank you

    Frances

    Hi Frances.

I'm not an expert in browser, but it seems plausible. The browser cache is designed to avoid having to download content locally whenever a page is opened. Whenever a page is open to scrutiny is conducted to determine if the cache already contains elements of it. If it has, it uses this local version. With the local HR server as the version of the cache statistics are not being updated, because the page is not viewed from the server.

It may be an idea to set your browser options to delete the history of every time that it is closed. Also, be aware that it is possible that different browsers may have slightly different options.

I know that the drive is compatible, because in the past, I ran these discs very on my computer. I tried the blank CD, DVD, bought CD + DVD, burned CD + DVD and they all produce the same result: nothing happens. When I right click on my drive and select the option 'Explorer', an empty window temporarily opens and closes. When I double-click on the drive, nothing happens. What seems to be a particular thing about my situation, is that when I try and restart my computer the problem persists, however when I turned my computer off and then turn it back on the player sometimes will work for a short period before the previous problem back to the top.

    Help would be VERY appreciated.

Thanks for your time, but I realized that the problem was with a program that I recently installed. I ended up uninstalling and then by removing any trace of her that I could find on my computer. After restarting, my CD/DVD drive appear to have begun to function properly again and I don't run in my previous problem again so far. Once again, thank you for taking the time to try to help me. The effort is appreciated.

    Hello

Well you have studied the issues pretty well. Could be material.

You have disk problems as the CD/DVD is actually 4 discs in 1 case (CD & DVD burning and)
Playback of CD and DVD). So it is not unusual for parts from 1 or 2 to not work so that others do
    correctly.

    A CD/DVD cleaner might help.

CD have a tolerance + - and your must read on the edge outside these tolerances of discs.
They may be delivered, but it is generally more economical to replace the disk.

    ============================================

Step 1: Please do all the same underneath if you did some before as is often total
a process that solves the problem.

Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double click on the device - driver tab.
Click on update drivers (this will probably do nothing) - RIGHT click ON the drive - uninstall.
RESTART this will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue
    below.

Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a coward
cable or slight corrosion on the contacts (usually for a laptop) and other issues.

Another possibility is that the cables are loose. Remove ALL power, then make sure that the cables in both
ends. Remove and replace, do not just tight. For laptops, you can often clean power and
contacts data with a pencil eraser.

Some DVD players do not use the Windows default drivers so check with the manufacturer of system and
manufacturer of device to see if there is a firmware or drivers for your drive if necessary.

    ===============================

Step 2: You have disc problems as the CD/DVD is actually 4 discs in 1 case (CD & DVD
Burn and CD and DVD read). So it is not unusual for 1 or 2 operational so that other parts
    do it right.

Did you follow the Troubleshooting Guide for the reader who still does not work? There are
the entries in registry that the troubleshooter does not solve and those who "might" be the cause.

Check with your Maker system and a device for the two possible firmware updates and

Here are the keys that I of course are those in question - for the subkeys of the CD/DVD drive

    Hello Urbchguy,

Thank you for your message.  It is possible that the profile has been corrupted.  Let's try the following:
Connect to your computer with one of the admin accounts that works properly.
Click 'Start' > click 'My computer' > navigate to the following folder:
    C:\Documents and Settings
Rename the problematic profile to add _old after profile.
    example: C:\Documents and Settings\jsmith_old
And then disconnect and reconnect under the problematic connection.  A new profile will be done, you can then copy the 'old' profile data to the new.
Please let us know if it did or did not help to solve the problem.
