ENVY of HP DV7 - 7334EA starts up of any dvd!

Hi I have HP ENVY DV7-7334EA and it does not have any bootable dvd, I tried several DVDs.

The laptop is only 1 month

The laptop is running windows 8 and has the latest bios update.

Please help me when I go to boot manager, there is no option for dvd theres only one efi and boot from the operating system.

My dvd player works perfectly when I'm on windows 8, so there is no problem with the drive.

Help, please

Thank you.

Here are the specifications of your ENVY HP dv7-7334ea Notebook computer. Please see "on UEFI and Start Menu" and "Start secure (Windows 8)" for more information about the use of your computer.

Make sure you create your media recovery HP or USB Flash Recovery discs before you edit or change anything.

You must ENABLE "Secure Boot" and maybe "Legacy Support" in the "Configuration of the BIOS start-up secure" on the page settings below before you can try to boot from a CD/DVD/USB/etc. ;

Immediately after having turned the computer on startup by pressing the "ESC" key or the key "F9". If you use "ESC", press "F9" to get the start menu. Select the desired boot device... Some may be displayed as UEFI boot options and legacy. If you still don't see the desired startup option, thanks to post a photo for us to consider.

    Hi there @infohack

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support! It's a good place to find the help you need, so many other users, the HP experts and other members of the support staff.

I can certainly understand your concern about this mix of partitions, and I am happy to help you with this.

As a first step, this page: partitioning and naming of readers (Windows 8)

There is also this post of @Daniel_Potyrala , even if reference is made to windows 7, it is loaded with useful information that applies to windows 8 as well. Its theme is more on the preparation of another drive with partitions, but this part of the update, there is information on the purpose of most of the partitions that you ask the subject.

How to repartition the disk HARD of HP notebook with pre-installed Windows 7

Since some of the partitions you listed are not labeled, it is difficult to tell what some of them are, but in a UEFI environment, it is possible one of those is a part of this environment. The recovery partition would have your plant to install the image. I would recommend you do a CD set of recovery as well via the recovery manager. You can make only one series.

I hope this helps a little.

    Hi, Joe:

You need these drivers to the SMBus and USB3 controllers...

This package contains the driver and Intel Chipset Installation Utility for the notebook models and operating systems. This utility allows the operating system to show the correct name for the Intel hardware that is installed in the Microsoft Windows Device Manager.

    File name: sp56156.exe

This package provides the driver for the Intel USB 3.0 controller host for the notebook models and operating systems. The driver allows USB 3.0 devices.

When I'm on the HP Recovery Manager screen I want to do a factory restore, but it says (disabled: recovery Partition is removed) but when I check the partitions on my laptop, there is a partition that says RECOVERY (D and Local disc (C.)) How can I do a factory restore?

Ok. Sorry to hear that you did not have serial or usb disk recovery recovery media.

This means that, unfortunately, in your case, than to buy a set of HP or send to drive hard reimage is your less expensive options.

It would be wise to buy a set of recovery disks or to ask if an instant multimedia usb HP rcovery disc is available for your laptop.  At least this way, you would be not dependent on any other repair of your PC. You could do it yourself after reading a tutorial or watch a video on using the recovery media.

  • CD-ROM error at the start after replacing the DVD drive - Qosmio F20-574

OK, so I have a Toshiba Qosmio F20/574 and I am trying to replace the factory DVD player (TEAC DV-W28E) with a Liteon DS-8A1P (f/w CX12). With or without a DVD Im reader get a CD-ROM error at startup. The only time where what I don't get, is when I start with the factory DVD player.

Here are the things I've tried...
    -Cleared CMOS memory
-Remove the bezel to ensure his grip at bottom
-l' utility EEPROM set the drive to slave.
-tested the portable player in another
-uninstalled the factory dvd player via the Device Manager and tried to boot with the new dvd drive

Here are the things that I found bizarre...
-in the BIOS (BIOS 1.30 ACP) under IO device, it shows the hard drive and cd, but it is not listed by name, his watch only the IRQ of the primary and secondary IDE controller (integrated drive HARD IDE primary (1F0H/IRQ14), CD-ROM (170 H/IRQ15) secondary IDE). This does not change, even if I start without a DVD player.
-There is no update available for this laptop BIOS. It is a Toshiba of the Japan and the Ive tried using Qosmio F20 BIOS 1.40 to another region, but this does not work.
    -I can't find a firmware for the Liteon DS-8A1P (CX17) update

I can't think of anything to try. I really need help! Any ideas?

    Blanko2,

This disc has already worked in the past? When did it stop working? Unfortunately, it seems that using a disc will not be an option. (repair install)

System Restore: If she stopped working in any time recently, try to do a system restore. Start Menu\ all courses Accessories\ system Tools\ system restore of the course that you want to restore to a point before it the issue.

Clean Boot:  Perform a clean boot will correct the problems resulting from a conflict with your hardware and the start up programs.

    Clean boot

    1. sign your computer with an administrator account.
    2. click on Start.
    3. type msconfig.exe in the Start Search box and press ENTER to start the System Configuration utility.
    4. If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click continue.
    5. on the general tab, click Selective startup, and then uncheck Load Startup items .
    6. on the Services tab, select the hide all Microsoft services check box, and then click disable all.

When you start, you still have the problem?  If this did not fix your problem, follow these steps to turn back on all startup programs. If this fixed the problem, you must determine which element specifically, caused the conflict.

    1. click on start
    2. type msconfig.exe in the Start Search box and press ENTER.
    3. If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click continue.
    4. on the general tab, click the Normal startup option, and then click OK.
    5. When you are prompted to restart the computer, click restart.

Check the connections: If none of these work, check the connections on your drive of CD-ROM. open your case, disconnect the cables from the drive and the motherboard and then reconnect the. After a reboot and the problem persists, try to change the connection at the Mo, if that is a possibility.

If these don't work, replace your CD/DVD drive.

  • HP dv7-7334ea Envy a lot of questions

So I bought my Hp Envy dv7-334ea about 6 weeks ago and it ran allright until recently where I have just been noticicing problem after problem. Help would be greatly apprecaited on any one of the following:

-The devices do not work: my Hp truvison HD webcam does not work and is not there in Device Manager and the same thing with my fingerprint on the portable reader, the cannot be found and it's almost as if though my laptop never had them first because there is not a trace in the Device Manager.

-One of the usb ports does not work. It was bugs me for a while - my laptop has 4 usb ports, 3 work fine, but one of them won't do anything

Doppping - conntection wifi problems: this is more noticeable on Skype as the call happen sometimes and my laptop will lose connection to my router - is not a router problem as other devices at home do not.

Again any help for the foregoing would be greatly appreciated - I can't seem to find a lot of people with the same phone as me and so there are not many solutions.

  • ENVY of HP dv7 7230us repair - HELP!

    Hello

I am trying to replace my screen and processor, motherboard and having all kinds of problems. First my camera fell. During the re-booting I noticed the screen turned white, but the cooling fan has been executed and the charging light was still on. I also noticed that the cover lock blinking continuously and the wifi was on but orange. Since she was an ssd that I couldn't tell if the drive worked except the small led on the side front right was on. I then shut the machine down, not connected the power adapter, took out battery and not connected to the RTC battery. Then, I pressed the power button down for 30 seconds to erase all stored tension. I then reconnected the battery RTC, the AC adapter and the battery. After re-booting, the screen turn black. The caps lock blinking continuously and the wifi was on but orange. Essentially the description above. I bought a new view compatible, used ENVY dv7 7000 series motherboard and a processor AMD A10. The original processor was an A8. I then reinstalled everything and even put the hard drive installed in the factory, Toshiba 750 g, I got the same results as before. This time, I could actually hear spinning drive. If everything worked. I even tested the ram original in another machine and found it was good. I also plugged in a monitor and nothing. I am at a loss. I'm trying to send the Commission in Exchange for another. Anyone know what is happening here? I missed something? Would appreciate any input. Thank you

    Al Hebert

In addition, the original processor, AMD A8-4500 Series, has 2 functions? CPU and GPU or is it just a GPU or CPU. I do not understand how it differs from the older processors.   Thanks again

The relocation of the CROWD?  I'm sorry what is a MOB. Yes, I remove the RTC battery. I tried to start it with and without the RTC.

  • ENVY of HP dv7 Notebook PC: USB-error if HI USB Controller 31 on Windows 8.1 for the HP ENVY laptop PC

My computer has been contiually gel and very slow on all programs.  It seems that it is a USB - IF HI USB COntroller with error 31.  I have all sorts of problems ever since I downloaded to 8.1 with the gel and the slow sometimes, but it has gottne so badly at that time that the computer is sometimes unnecessary.

    Hi @wyndeway,

    Thank you for your request!

I understand that your computer has been constantly icy and very slow. When you have verified the device displays error 31 on a USB controller Manager.  It started after the Windows 8.1 classification.  To help you more effectively, I need the Envy DV7 specific model do you have? Computers laptops HP - how can I find my model number, serial number or product?.

Do you have a rear roll of 10 Windows to Windows or did you reinstall from a retail copy or perform a recovery?  Have you done all your Windows updates, after the downgrade?  You ran the HP Support Assistant?

    Try this for USB:

    • Go to the Device Manager
    • Right click on the USB controller with the error
    • Choose uninstall and remove.
    • Restart your computer.
    • Open the Device Manager and click on Action
    • Click scan for hardware changes.

Please let me know the results.

  • ENVY of HP dv7: copy the file fails error on disk 2 to 58% HP recovery

My hard drive in my dv7 ENVY dies for the second time in two years (it was under warranty last time and I was able to fix). I bought the hard drive same exact (Samsung, 1 TB), tested in BIOS, past everything. When I try to make the image recovery with the HP recovery discs I received the last time my hard drive died, I get an error then that 58% on two recovery disc that says:

    Reducer

    Copy the file fails

    From: d:\preload\base24. STORMWATER MANAGEMENT

    To: c:\RM\Image\BASE24. STORMWATER MANAGEMENT

    Press OK to retry.

I press OK and it does the same thing over and over again. People who questioned him on this same type of error seem to get anywhere here, but what choice do I have? The hard drive is the same size, same manufacturer, same model, it should have the question of reimage the system on a hard drive more small, right?

Am I just out of luck on that? So frustrated.

    englejas

    Hello;

Let me welcome you on the HP forums!

I read your post on recovery issues and wanted to help.

Here is the link to the tool of creation of win8.1 media: installation media to create for Windows - 8.1 help Windows

Understand, however, you might encounter a problem installing using the media created from this tool.

You have a version of OEM HP of Win8 installed on your PC, and this means that the product key that is embedded in the motherboard UEFI firmware is OEM, not retail.

While the media created from this tool SHOULD be activated using this key, there is no guarantee he will do.  If it is not the case, you can use this tool to recover your product key and try to enter it manually: Download Windows OEM Product Key Tool - MajorGeeks

IF it still does not work, then your only recourse would be to order a new set of recovery from HP discs.

You can look online for recovery from the paged media related: http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers

Once there, enter your product name or number. On your software page and download the drivers, select your operating system and version. Click on "Update".  If the HP recovery support is available for your computer, down near the bottom of the page, you will see an entry for the command Recovery Media-CD/DVD/USB. Click on the symbol '+' to expand this entty and click on order to press for more details.

Or, if you prefer, you can do the same by contacting HP Customer Service:

If you live in the United States or the Canada, details are on this page: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/phone-assist.html#section1

If you live elsewhere, contact details are on this page: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/ww-contact-us.html

NOTE: once you get through, stay on the line until you are finally able to talk to someone ' one - it can take a while!

However, HP customer care is generally not available on weekends, so you will have to wait until Monday to contact them.

    Good luck
