    Hi Apmech9,

    1. don't you restore the computer to factory settings?
    2. do you just restore the computer to an earlier time by using the system restore feature in Windows XP?

    If you restore the computer to its factory settings, you will then get in touch with the manufacturer of the system for more support options.

    If you had just restored the computer to an earlier time using System Restore, you can undo the system restore to revert back the changes.

  • Find files and etc after a race a full system restore.

    I had problems with my computer and I ran the "full system restore" (with backup). How to make the backup of files, etc. back to where they were? When I go to search and type something in this use to be on my computer, I see a file or several files that say MyBack and the file I'm looking for, but I do not know how to restore it back to where it originally was.

    hamntre,
    Thanks for posting.  It sounds like you have used the restore\backup OEM utility to restore the system.  If that is correct, then you will need to check with the manufacturer to learn how to restore your files from your PC.  If you used the backup utility built into XP you just run it again and follow the steps to restore your files. • NTI Backup Now EZ - full system restore restarts to black screen with blinking cursor

    My Dell Inspiron has recently crashed after installing the last "update automatically", and I had to do a full install of Win 7 OS from a disk Dell provided. I had to go as far as deleting all partitions to get the Win 7 OS to install. Once which was completed, I then tried to do a full system restore using my NTI Backup Now EZ 320 on a Toshiba Canvio 2.0. When he is finished with the restoration, I disconnected the HD and restarted my system... as stated. The system has rebooted and returned to the top with a black screen with a blinking cursor. What happened to the EZ installation?

    Any help would be appreciated.

  • Vista not startop after full system restore

    I had a few problems with my computer and decided that I had to do a full restore to the factory settings.

    Seemed to go well until two days.  I just installed Chrome, Vista and AVG updates.

    The comp would not boot, would not repair, do not go to safemode etc...   I did a full second restore, nothing else that factory settings have now on the comp.  Now, I can get it to the password screen / logon, but it will hang there forever.  I can use safe mode with network and I'm trying to understand what should be my next move.

    You mention that you see a blue screen when you start normally.  It might be interesting to analyze the minidump file to see if it has led to what could cause this problem.

    SpiritX MS MVP has a great guide on how to analyze your blue screen of minidumps on this thread.  If all goes well it can help identify you the culprit behind this startup problem.

    I also had some problems after the update to a new generation of OS.  What worked for me is not godly on the list of updates from Windows Updates After you installed a clean OS, update rather than half of the found list, or even less depending on the size of each update selected.  Download updates in small increments seems to have helped me overcome this several times.  It might be interesting to try whenever you decide on the fight against this problem again.

    Help, please... HP says they can do a refurb more money that the laptop is worth.

    Hi Volatus,

    I would say lets you do a system restore using the Windows Vista DVD to one hour before the update that has the problem of the installation and check if you are able to boot.

    What are the system recovery options in Windows Vista?

    I hope this helps.

  • Unable to find a way to do a full system restore

    I'm trying to do a complete system restore on my computer but may not know where to look for it. Everything that I keep finding is check the restore points, I need to get my computer back to factory settings. Does anyone have any ideas on how to do that?

    You do not do so by restoring the system.

    Read the info below:

    Vista recovery media obtain and/or use the Partition Recovery Vista on your computer to the factory settings .

    There is no Vista free download legal available.

    Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.

    Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    In addition, ask them if you have a recovery Partition on your computer/laptop to restore it to factory settings.
    See if a manual provided with the computer or go to the manufacturer's website, email or you can call for information on how to make a recovery.
    Normally, you have to press F10 or F11 at startup to start the recovery process...
    Another way I've seen on some models is press F8 and go to a list of startup options, and launch a recovery of standards of plant with it, by selecting the repair option.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    Also ask them if it is possible to do the recovery disk/s for the recovery Partition in case of a system Crash or hard drive failure.

    They will tell you how to do this.

    Every computer manufacturer has their own way of making recovery disk/s.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Or borrow a good Microsoft Vista DVD (not Dell, HP, Acer, recovery disk/s etc).
    A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
    The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.
    There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.
    If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):
    At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu
    Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
  • Photosmart Premium C309a series: full system restore fails to translate by scanning HP operation
    I've had recently have my drive hard iMac replaced. After performing a full restore of the Time Machine backup system, I found that HP Scan does not at all, despite the printer itself its other tasks normally. This means that ABBYY Fine Reader also does not work with HP Scan as his "calling application.
    I use Mac OS X 10.6.8 and run Apple Software Update and downloaded all outstanding HP software. Before my drive failure hard HP Scan worked fine. The complete restoration has installed the version that I have been ongoing now, 2.4.1.
    In order to get the Scan software of course I downloaded originally the complete package of HP in order to configure its features-however, the current version of the printer driver is 4.1.2.
    In the error window that appears when I try to start HP scanning, it seems that the problem may relate to profiles of scanning HP is not loaded into the library folder. However when I look I am not able to determine if something is missing. I suspect that they are there, but is not being recognized.
    As I already have all the software to operate the printer features, why should I repeat the download for the HP scan and the scan function operate again?
    Hi again Gemini02,
    And thanks for your tips.
    Since your post, a new range of printers HP software update became available through Apple Software Update: version 2.16.1
    I don't know what it was, but I am now at a point where all the functions of printer that I trust work once more... In the case of HP scanning, maybe it's my imagination, but it seems with a slightly better interface than before. Still I had to push it in service by going to Mac OSX system preferences / Print & Fax / Scan / open route Scanner; because initially he said he was not available because he was using another application it - but once I did it, HP Scan can be launched independently and worked well.
    Also printing black text seems to behave normally now - also PDF files.
    I'll click on "Accept as Solution" so thanks for seeing me through this issue.
  • You want to restore only lost Apple Time Machine Mail. Is this possible without full system restore?
    I have an iMac with OS X (El Capitan).  I had to delete my email account in System Preferences due to a problem with my email provider.  Set up a new account.  Noticed that all my Inbox subfolders have been maintained, but kept in the Inbox emails have been deleted.  Thought that I have may be able to restore from a Time Machine backup, but don't want to do a complete restore of the system.  Is it possible to isolate and restore only Apple Mail?
    Yes.
  • Run a full system restore
    I own a HP m8330f (Windows Vista) that will not start.  I got the data that I need the HD using third party software.  The recovery Partition appears to be intact, and I'm ready to make a full recovery.  However, the F11 key does not start the recovery program.  Is there another way to initialize the recovery process?  Maybe a CD bootable image that will access the program of recovery?
    Thank you
    ScottG
    Why is this?
    You said in the original post that your operating system is Vista. I see what you mean though that the compatibility. I think you are going to have to bite the bullet and either:
    (1) buy an OS from a Microsoft outlet (an expensive option)
    (2) buy the HP recovery media (much cheaper compared to the other option and includes drivers and software)
    You should expect this cost against is no no not the recovery media set when your laptop you advise to do.
    Best regards
  • Kaspersky sign appears after the full system restore
    After that I did a restore of the entire system on my computer, I have a sign indicating "kaspersky is not lit." What does that mean? This means that my computer came pre-installed with a free trial of kaspersky?
    Hello
    Computers are normally with a free trial of an Antivirus for many days.
    It is normally Norton or McAfee.
    You must configure the free trial. A system recovery reinstalls the operating system to exactly how you bought your computer.
    If the trial was initially, it will appear again after doing a restore to factory settings
    Consult the manual of your computer as to what had been bought...
    See you soon.
