General hardware problems NB200-125 (screen and HD)

Hi all

NB200-125 my wife is around the age of 18 months and in the last few weeks will expose some strange problems. He started with a boot failier where unable to start windows XP, after trying to boot into normal mode and safe mode, a few times I tried to plug it to make sure it wasn't a battery problem, plug it helped and I managed to get it started and ran chkdisk who found a bunch of disk errors hard that it sets, and it is now ok start a few files have been lost, but it might just be chkdisk removal from areas of the HD.

Now in the past 2 days we got 2 times where the screen is spent "in white" first to a black screen, then the second time for a green screen.

Someone at - it for directions to know where to look to fix it? I thought that it would be the sort to change the HD until these errors to the screen.

Any ideas would be very appreciated.

Hi Grunge,

Of course, these problems can be hardware related but before I ask an authorized service provider you should try a recovery facility to the factory settings. Maybe Windows was confused to the top because of the previous problems so a reinstall would be useful.

In order to take the way to recovery, and boot from it. Follow the instructions on the screen and restore the box settings.

If still doesn't help really hardware related issue and it can be fixed to an authorized service provider.

Hi - I'm not a sophisticated computer user! This problem has been occurring for about a week - intermittently. When I move the screen of my laptop forward or backward - it turns off and I see no longer the desktop icons. It takes awhile to several push and pull to get things working again on the right. Second problem is this: when I use the mouse and place the cursor on the icon to open something - nothing happens. I can not click. I can't even move the mouse to make a reboot - I end up having to press the button and wait until it to power down. When I turn it back on - sometimes it is fine and other, the same thing happens. My battery is exhausted or do I here some real problems? Help would be appreciated. Thanks, LdyBGood

Welcome to the Community Forum of HP.

You certainly have a hardware problem.

There are threads of connection - small wires that connect the display to the rest of the computer which can be crushed, loose or disconnected.  Damage or disconnect can happen anywhere: from one of the ends of the connection point on the map of the computer where all the components most lies along the son in the hinge area - where the wires could be crushed - at the other end of the wires where they connect to the components in the display screen, antennas, webcam microphone or radio, wireless, or other components.  This damage can occur at any time to any computer age.

    It's sad.

If the problem is broken wires, the situation is not hopeless: the good news is that such problem is not generally expensive to correct is not a death knell for a healthy computer.  In other words, it may be useful to have the computer by a qualified professional and trust.

You can call HP, or you can take the computer to the local House of reliable repair.  The problem can usually be quickly diagnosed by a qualifed technician once that he / she can see the computer.

You should, while you can backup your data to an external location.

You should, while you can, save your most sensitive to a second external location data - say a USB key so that you can - if you need it - put these data on another computer while this computer are fixed.

If you have an account of cloud, it is one that you can back up your data.  If you have a SIN - and you know what it is, you can back up your data to that.  If you can afford to buy a small drive external backup of your E-store, you can use it.

    Dragon tips

    • If you decide to take your computer to a local store OR if you decide to send your computer for repair, remove your most personal data and critics of the computer.  Do not quibble about "it's hard to do," just get the data on the computer after you are sure it is saved.  Do not give foreigners access to your private data.  If you don't know what you're doing: a friend for you help with backups.
    • Don't be fooled a method of data backup.  A backup is not enough - a backup is like locking the front door of your House and leave the door open.

You can always call HP for help.

Know that you can call HP to organize the computer to send to HP for repair, regardless of the status of the guarantee.  There is an extra charge for the service.  HP will take good care of the computer and will organize the details with you when you call.

Lock screen remained Rainbow, and account remained gray silhouette. I tried a lot of bugs that I found on the fourms several but none were of no help. • Windows 7 starts problems with black screen and the cursor because of power failure

I'm on a Windows 7 64-bit Home Premium OS. Start-up problems arose after the power failure (accidentally unplugged the charger, the battery was not in place) during a video call in Skype. Accessories attached to the laptop at the time were a Logitech Webcam, a dongle Bluetooth, microphone and headphones.

When starting my laptop Asus N81VP, he'll go as far as the 'Starting Windows' logo, then I meet a black screen with a mobile cursor. I don't then right click, CTRL + ALT + DELETE.

    I tried the things:

Start Up Repair = "cannot automatically repair."

System Restore = no available restore points

Windows Memory Diagnostic = at 100%, no screen of detected problems, then black with mobile cursor

Networking Mode Safe Mode/Safe = black screen with cursor mobile

Activate video low resolution (640 x 480) = black screen with cursor mobile

Good known Configuration = black screen with cursor mobile list

Start Windows normally = black screen with cursor mobile

Please help me. I've had this laptop for less than a year, and it would break my heart to have to re - format.

You seem to have exhausted most of the options available in such cases, except two:
D ' log in under a different account.
-To restore your registry files manually. See below for more details.

On your heart that could get broken: have you considered using the imaging facility that is integrated with Windows 7? You can find it in the control panel / backup and restore. This is somewhat marginal in the feature and it can be finicky, but it saved my butt several times.

You can restore your registry files manually to a previous point through the steps described below. The process is complex and requires some careful typing. Ask a computer-savvy friend to help you if you lack experience in this field. Note that it may reset your password to a previous value.
    1. keep tapping F8 during the first phase of startup.
    2. Select repair in the menu that looks like this:
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/advanced-startup-options-including-safe-mode
3 log in as administrator if you are prompted.
    4. Select repair when prompted.
    5. Select the command line in the menu that looks like this:
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/what-are-the-system-recovery-options-in-Windows-7
    6. identify the correct drive letter for your Windows installation. It could be one drive other than c, but it will not X:. You do this by typing commands
    DIR C:\Win*
    Dir D:\Win*
    dir E:\Win*
until you find the Windows folder.
    I'll call this "Q:" drive
    7 type these commands:
    CD /d Q:\windows\System32\config
    xcopy *. * Q:\MyRegBack\
    CD RegBack
    dir
    8. review the dates of the software, system, and SAM files. The files created before or after that is your problem?
    9. If they were made before the problem appeared, you can then type these commands:
    copy software / y...
    /y copy system...
    /y copy Sam...
(the two points are part of each order)
    10. restart normally. If things don't work then you can go back by copying files from the original register of Q:\MyRegBack to Q:\Windows\System32\config.

Return to the store where he worked on and insist firmly on the wound by making a repair. Frustration of the tech isn't your problem.

Display problems that did not exist should not have happen with a replacing the CMOS battery. Replacing the CMOS battery in a dv8000 series laptop is a simple task. It's a question of withdrawal of the door of memory and memory modules themselves to access the CMOS battery.

Here's a link to the guide Service and maintenance for dv8000 series notebooks. I suggest let you disassemble the laptop for technicians.

Thank you for taking the time to answer.

I had class the user manual, this is what worked for me:

Find the power button on the login screen. Hold the SHIFT key pressed and tapped power button / stop and choose 'update & Restart '.

It took a few minutes to do the update, then I got the opportunity to «get out and continue to Windows 8 "that I chose.»

While everything was fine - my startup screen is back with all its applications, and I had a smile on my face like that :-D

  • Lock screen and mouse L850 satellite every 2 seconds

    I think I have a hardware problem with the Satellite PSKDLA - 0C800R L850.

It is a laptop I bougth to my wife but he has ended up with my stepson of Uni studies. While he had it the hard drive is not one of his friends replaced. twelve months later, he advised it was gone blackscreen and G'nort would turn out.

I finally got hold of it again and managed to drain the power remaining and replaced the CMOS battery remove a strip of RAM and it starts fine. I've proved a faulty stick so that left aside. Then I realized that there was a problem with the screen and the mouse

. The screen would brighten up (wash out) then Flash and stabilize. First thought was video chip or the driver.
At the same time would lock the mouse. When the screen clears the mouse would again.
Happening every three or four seconds but now every two seconds. It is more difficult to do something.

Have reloaded many drivers, but I think it is material, but not sure if it needs a motherboard or processor.
    Can you advise?

I forgot to mention that the image of the screen is slightly down from senior management.
Tere is a few millimeters of black with a white line on the top edge of the image.
This white line seems to come on and off with the locked mouse synchronization and the screen. This is another indication of the problem or the backlight?

Hi, have you checked the thermal paste between the CPU and the heatsink?

  • Tecra S1: Empty screen and beep error Code appears

    Hello

I have a toshiba tecra s1 and it no longer works, and I don't know why.

When I start the laptop there is nothing wrong, but after 3 minutes or if the screen is not responding. Then I tried to reboot, it gives a black screen and beeps. The beeps are:
short, short, long, break, short, short, short.

And what he repeates himself. When I wait several days it will start again and then after 3 minutes it will "crash" again.

What is the problem with my laptop? Why it works, and after 3 minutes no longer works?

    Thanks in advance.

    Best regards!

    Hello

The laptop starts fine in the Windows operating system?

Strange beep error code usually appears because there is a hardware problem on the S1 and the POST (power on self-test) cannot be passed correctly.
If the computer falls down the POST, the computer then returns a beep code indicating what is causing the computer not not to pass on the MESSAGE.

The problem is that all the different systems of BIOS support meanings of different code.
As far as I know, Toshiba Tecra S1 uses Toshiba BIOS and only the ASP can read this code and know what it means. I recommend to contact the ASP in your country for assistance!

PS: Check out this interesting page about additional information on computer POST / beep codes

  • U100: Videos simultaneously on the screen and external beamer?

    Hello booklet users,.

I don't have such a beautiful unit yet, but I think to get a. I guess I won't have too many problems with the screen and a small keyboard that I use a MDA Pro and I am very satisfied with the even smaller keyboard.

But before you buy a Libretto U100 I really want to know if the book is able to show a video, which is included in a Power-Point presentation on the screen of the booklet as well as on a projector at the same time. Because this is not the case with my real Satellite phone, where I can run Power-Point presentations on both devices, but as soon as I start a video in the presentation, that it will only appear on my screen of Satellite.

    Thanks for sharing your experience,

    Walter

    Hello

Usually on the satellite units, it should be possible to change the display devices with the FN + F5 key combination. So you can change the output to extern monitor/Beamer, TV, extended desktop display or you can clone display (laptop + monitor or laptop + TV).
I put t know if you tried but check these possibilities.

AFAIK the Libretto U100 also supports this utility and it should be possible to change the extended or video projector monitor output.

    Good bye

All tests of memory and the device driver may report any problems. I unplugged and reinsert the two memory chips.

There has been no hardware or changes to software other than Windows to auto update.

This machine runs on Vista SP1. I dug the following message: Root cause found Bugcheck 124 unknown parameters 0x0, 0x95f7c3f0, 0xb2000040, 0 x 800. MSDN Info for this can be found at
    http://msdn.Microsoft.com/en-us/library/Windows/hardware/ff557321.

Anyone know where I should look for this hardware problem?

If you remove the second module of RAM is still blue screen?

I saw 0 x 00000124 on a similar laptop and it was a problem of CPU.

  • ProBook 450 - second series of recovery media, blue screens windows 7 (win 8 okay, not the hardware problem)

    I had a new HP probook 450 G1.

Immediately, I swapped the 750 GB for one SSD drive and tried to install Windows 7 from the recovery media. The operation has failed. Contact HP support, they sent new media.

I used new media. Windows 7 operating system installed. As soon as I install the drivers, the PC goes in a loop of the blue screen.

I can install the chipset drivers and wifi. Don't know what the other driver is causing the blue screen. I can also install from the windows media 8, so this isn't a hardware problem - wife hates just windows 8.

Basically, please either give me a few troubleshooting steps or I'll go back to the PC. I'm NOT insterested in a manual process long to determine which driver is the problem and the recovery download media manually the drivers one... should work.

After you have reinstalled the original 750 GB hard drive with the replacement media, I managed to an attempt to "recover". So, I decided to sit and try, by the process of elimination, all drivers.

It turns out that the technology Intel Rapid Storage Technology driver was causing the problem. When I installed everything BUT that, the laptop works very well. Notice that I use a fairly new SSD Crucial of M500. It is quite possible there are other people out there see it. You really need to install the driver of rapid storage technology, it is fast enough - not not even 100% sure what good to give the driver.

So I gave myself wrong guidance by the initial recovery of defective media. The second group of work recovery media, but the version of the driver intel 12.7.3.1001 does NOT work with the Crucial M500. I checked the Intel site for driver downloads, and it was not clear that they have a newer driver appropriate right now. Maybe someone else can tell?
