Gradation of the opacity: right in the program monitor, harming export

Hello

In CS5 first, I worked on a project that I started in CS4 and noticed that some fade and chained seem to be disabled once the project has been exported. To explore this question, I created this simple project:

screenshot.png

As you can see, it's 12 images of a white color cache which has fade to black with a gradation in the opacity, followed by 13 images from the cache of the same color which fade to black with a cache of black color which changes in opacity at the top of the first track. I know I should rather use instead good transitions, but I find that when there are several video tracks to the timeline, using a black color matte on top of them is sometimes a more convenient method.

In any case, in theory, the gradation should be "symmetrical" and indeed, if I have the color select each image in the preview window, I get the following sequence of values (in grayscale in hexadecimal):

FF-EA-D5-BF-AA-95-80-6a-55-40-2A-15-00-15-2A-40-55-6a-80-95-AA-BF-D5-EA-FF

Indeed, the first part is a mirror perfect second, around the Middle Manager. However, once I export the project, the sequence (in the exported media) will replace this:

FF-EA-D5-BF-AA-95-80-6a-55-40-2A-15-00-53-72-89-9B-AC-BB-C8-D4-E0-EB-F5-FF

While the first part is exactly the same, the second is rather different; It seems from a value other than 00. When you perform a fadeout, the opposite occurs as gradation fails to 00.

It didn't happen in Premiere CS4 and I wonder if there is a fix for this problem. Otherwise, I could change all my defective transitions to something else, but it would be nice to change some options could solve my problem instead.

Thank you!

(This is caused either by a) MPE/GPU-hardware-accelerated rendering (which you don't seem to use, given that your sequence is red bar), or b) using maximum quality for export. In both cases, it is rendered in color 32-bit floating point linear; instead of the smooth logarithmic curve, you're used to seeing when you create an opacity ramp or use a cross dissolve transition, you have a ramp linear opacity which increments as well. This may cause some dissolved quite shocking, despite the linear color being more correct "technically", as this is how the light works in the real world. Personally, I prefer "aesthetically" correct - so do my clients.

Check out these threads for some more information and illustrations: fighting equipment MPE, Episode 2: Chunky blurs and curved opacity and EMT + GPU

The solution is not to use maximum quality for export, or if you use GPU rendering sped up to turn it off when it came time for export. Unfortunately, when one of the people, you lose all the benefits of these parameters, not only linear 32-bit rendering.

  • The program monitor shows only half of the picture

Hi I'm new in preview, for some reason any when I open a photo in the program monitor, it shows that half of the picture, straight cut, in the Center (see below). I used to be able to see the entire photo and add the title and text to it.

what setting should I bring back to normal?

    2016-10-05.png

The first thing I would look at is the Sequence of parameters - click, on the top menu and ensure that the settings are - post a screenshot please. Your program monitor looks like a size extra-large, much wider than the standard ratio 16:9 HD or 4 K.

The setting sequence is the basis for everything in your project - if it's wrong to start, all you will be affected later.

Once you have a correct adjustment sequence you are satisfied, still images or video clips you want to use may not be the same dimensions/dimensions you chose for your sequence (such as 1080 p which is 1920 x 1080 pixels). You may have a still picture with larger dimensions, and then it will appear cropped as you currently see as its size does not match sequencing. Think of it as the photo was too big for a picture frame.

As Jim mentioned, you can use the effect Adobe path across the source to fit, however it can be quicker and easier to simply with the right button of the image on the timeline, and then select define framework - this will automatically go to the media in your sequence.

  • Export lack contrast compared to the program monitor

First of all; I'm running on Windows 10 first CC 2015.1 and using a GPU Nvidia GeForce Ti GTX750. I use Dell U2412M twins IPS monitors that are calibrated using a Spyder4Pro.

Any codec I export to it always seems to be the same discrepancy between what displays the program monitor (as well as the preview to export) and video after export. I used VLC, the native Windows! 0 Reader (film & TV), Quicktime and HTML5. I have all these images will appear less saturated and lacking in contrast. Play exported images on an other machine parts, even relatively faded image.

I've been reading a lot of posts on this topic, seems to be a common problem, and try to find a solution that works, none of the suggestions I've read have solved the problem in my case.

    • I checked the settings in the Nvidia Control Panel, everything is configured to use the Nvidia settings. Returning to the video player settings makes it even more flat.
    • The only one who came close it is make some additional adjustments when exporting via the effects tab. However, it's something drastic workaround with the overcompensated preview.
    • It isn't just Quicktime that has this issue, it is in all areas.

Y at - it a setting I have not spotted, either during the export process, or to set the display within the first I missed which would give me a parity between the preview that displays the monitor program and exit? This seems a little silly that the Visual tool used when the color correction and classification of images seems to be a rule in its own right...

Below screenshot shows the same part of a few images, VLC on the left and the program within the first right monitor.

Thanks in advance for any idea on this issue.

After a little experimentation this morning, I think I can find the answer. I use some Look of Tom Antos LUTs as part of my process of dimming on my current project. Without these elements in the equation for the difference between the program monitor and images exported in VLC is almost the same makes no difference.

It is interesting export a file from .cube since Lumetri color Panel with everything Tom Antos LUT applied and then using this file in the ranking. .cube seems to cure the problem. There must be either something wrong with the formatting of the original Tom Antos LUT where changes to the image have been applied in the program monitor but were then omitted in the rendering process. Tom Antos READ appeared in or an earlier version of the first, and there is a kind of incompatibility. Anyway, to re-record the LUT as a native first CC 2015.1 .cube file seems to fix the problem.

I take this opportunity to thank R Neil Haugen and J. Simon for their valuable input

  • I can't get the subtitles to appear on the program monitor

    Hello

I watched a lot of videos and used several Adobe Tutorials but I can't see my subtitles on the monitor of the program (the monitor in the upper right corner.  This is called the correct program monitor?).  I created the CC from scratch and that they are correctly placed on the timeline.

    Help, please!

    Thank you!

the default caption closed in the project bin is a type and another type is the default caption closed in the program monitor.

for subtitling the show, is the type of closed captioning.

Sorry I can't be specific, if I leave things in the memory will be too confused - I'm just failing to launch the first at this time to specify exactly, but match your closed captioning (change the type of monitor to show)

  • Problems with the program monitor for 20 to 90 seconds with project started in first CC2014 using CC2015

I'm just finishing an important project for first Pro CC2015 and it tests my patience. Whenever I do an edit simple ripple and transitions program window to view side-by-side, CC2015 PP becomes somewhat insensitive for anywhere between 20 and 90 seconds. Sometimes it does not recover at all. When I say it's a bit insensitive, I mean I can always move clips, remove clips, or manipulate the clips in any way I want on the timeline. But the program monitor just sits on that same side-by-side view. The side-by-side never displayed the images while ripple editing is performed. The source window, audio mixer and lumetri litters all stop working. But they recover before the window of the program.

This project was launched in 2014 CC and we should never have improved while in the middle of this project, but now it's too late to go back. It does this on two PCs at work and my PC at home. I started a new project, and no problem with changes to the ripple. Although there are minor, other performance issues, more generally I'm not happy about this day with first CC 2015. I also found a CC2014 project that will not export the correct proportions using CC2015, but just, we returned to the 2014 project to continue working on it.

Number for ripple editing, eventually everything comes back and still works, but only once so far. Only once, however, my PC completely frozen and had to be returned. I built this PC at hand and never charge anything on what I have needed for my work. This is the first time that this PC has frozen more than 3 years that I used it. Sometimes, a program crashes, but never the entire system.

Did anyone else out there having this problem?

MY ADVICE: Finish the projects of CC2014 on CC2014! Stick with new projects with CC2015. or just hold off on upgrading.

    Hi Lisa,

Disable "Composite overview for Trim" in the timeline view settings and see if that helps to run.

  • Cause of multi Cam in the program monitor PPCC. Help?

    Hello

For the last week, I've been editing Canon. MXF a five camera images shot in Multicam PremPro CC.

Everything was fine.  I progresses and has been able to export some preview episodes.

Late last night, so that the edition Multi Cam in the program window, half Multicam window becomes black.

    Screen Shot 2014-12-31 at 9.39.03 AM.png

Multi cam is activated in the program monitor.

The Source window can see the multiple in the sequence cams - as seen here below.

    Screen Shot 2014-12-31 at 9.41.04 AM.png

And the timeline has everything enabled for Multicam as well.

    Screen Shot 2014-12-31 at 9.40.27 AM.png

As I say, I've been editing this project even for more than a week now, and it suddenly stops the multicam in the program monitor.

The footage I had finished editing is no longer will show Multi cam in the program either monitor.  And the project has the same through other computers in this studio.

CC is a bit different than CS6.  It is the most recent update the PPCC2014.2

I'm looking for suggestions of ideas for what to do here before we start the project more in CS6.

I hope I won't have to go back to CS6 a second time on a Bill this year.

    Your comments are appreciated.

    Thank you for your time.

    Right,

So here was the problem, if any of you out there people are going nuts with what appears to be a broken project.

In the timeline above layer multicam, I was falling into the graphics. I cut and paste into.

In order to so I highlight the layer I want to drop the graphics on.

    As shown below.

Once a layer is a highlight that the layer of Multicam, the program monitor will show is more multicam.

Remove the layer as shown highlighted below.

    Hope this helps someone.

  • Problems with the 'start' button and the size of the video in the program monitor

I was on TSF phone Adobe Help for about 3 1/2 hours today.  The problem is that the video in the program monitor doesn't fit - even when I checked it to 'fit '.  I have a mac - totally up top date, and film imported from my canon 7 d, I turned to 1280 x 720.  When I created a new project with the same, the image in the program monitor is too big.  When I create a new project in 1280 X 1080 image is too small - even when I click on 'adjust '.  Also, sometimes the play button doesn't work everything simply.  Help, they managed to get rid of my twice - preferences to no help at all, "clean up" my hard drive and the problems still continue.  They then tell me in order for me to go to the second layer, I want to buy a contract.  Can someone help me! Lose my mind! Thank you.

What's happened is that you have created a sequence with the wrong settings.  Right-click has created a sequence with the correct settings.

  • Move objects in the program monitor

    Hi all

If I'm not mistaken, you could (in CS5) to move files (images, text, etc.) around in the monitor of the program by clicking on them. It seems that this feature is missing in CS6. Can someone tell me if this is even possible? Since then, I have no idea how...

    Thanks in advance!

If I'm not mistaken, you could (in CS5) to move files (images, text, etc.) in the right source monitor by clicking on it.

This feature is available in the program monitor in CS5 and CS6.

Try by double-clicking on image in the program monitor.

    Note:

The Source monitor is located on the left,

The program monitor is located on the right.

    Hello

I lose the composite image of video playback in the program monitor and the Source monitor after a few minutes. Audio is not yet.

While the video plays, a random video color video screens near bar overall top 10 lines of pixels from the left edge to the right edge, then the video freezes on video, but you can still listen to. After awhile, an error message appears and the first to be forced closed. "NVIDIA OpenGL driver detected a problem with the display driver and can not continue." Error code: 3'

It happens on all projects ranging from different resolutions and sizs from 30 seconds to 40 minutes. I suspect it has something to do with this error of the video and pilots communicate do not, but something causes of creation to arrive after the clip, played some time to display. I tried a few online solutions, others have had success with, but it doesn't have a lot of solutions fully documented for Windows users.

This put all my projects on hold. Any ideas on how to solve this problem?

  • Impossible to activate the complete resolution in the program monitor

    Hi friends,

I get to the creation of the French Communist PARTY, and this is one I can't understand everything. How do you perceive the full resolution in the program monitor? I see only a single field.

I have a DV clip in a sequence of Blackmagic Uncompressed 720 x 480. It looks good on my monitor (via BM intensity Pro), but it only shows half the resolution in the program monitor. I have several parameters when I right click in the program monitor (top, bottom, two fields; resolution of play/pause), but none of them seems to have no effect on what I see.

The only way that I can't see the full resolution in the program monitor's if I'm in a no-Blackmagic editing... but then I can't it output to the monitor. In FCP, I can see the full resolution in the Source, the program and the external monitor. How to do this first?

    Thank you!

    Clint

The resolution seems to 'shift' when you playback the program monitor? I mean, it's whether the resolution is higher when the sequence is interrupted when you playback, or it is not low resolution all the time?

I suggest you GPU drivers, but if you get full resolution in a sequence, Adobe, which is probably not the explanation. Could be an issue for BMD... I'm kind of suggestions that I have not a BMD card.

  • Sequences are zoomed in the program monitor

CS5 using on iMac with images shot on the 5DmkII.

The images look good in the source monitor, but it is "zoomed" the on the program monitor. It is currently in the size 'fit' so I tried to play with the % and there is no resize the frame not the zoom. It also exports zoomed images like in the program monitor. It is my first project with my CS5 upgrade and on my new mac. Therefore, the default and I have not tested with the settings to change the view. How can I get the images in the program monitor to look exactly like he was shooting/source monitor? Thank you

It sounds like you sequence settings do not match your settings to images. I'm guessing that the dimensions of your movie in pixels are much smaller than those of your element of film - that, when you put images (clip) in the sequence, only a piece of the clamp can be demonstrated in the relatively low sequence. You can either scale the clip to fit or do a sequence that matches the element- according to what is right for you.

I recommend that you take the time to a path through the basic training for Premiere Pro.

  • First CC - the program monitor goes black after a few minutes

    Hello

    I have the following problem:
After 5-10 minutes, the program first DC monitor (2015) becomes black. The sequence and any remains intact, I can still do everything, but it does not show on the program monitor. When I restart first nothing is deleted or changed in any way that I myself.

    Technical information:
I use Windows 8.1, 12 GB of RAM on 2 TB of free space on my hard drive and an Nvidia GeForce GTX 650.

I would be very happy if anyone of you could help me with this problem because it's really in the way of my workflow to restart every few minutes.

Thanks for all the help, but fortunately, the problem disappeared after the new update and I hope it stays like that.

  • The program monitor randomly goes black

First Pro CC uses for months and no problem.  All of a sudden, the program monitor goes black, then back over video transitions between clips, then goes black again.

I have a HP workstation, with a processor of xenon 12-core, 32 GB RAM, 9 TB of disk storage hard (the first 1 TB flash), blazing fast dedicated with a ton of video memory video card.  It's worked wonders for 12 months and with all the other products Adobe (Photoshop, Lightroom) and hundreds of other programs.  I have NOT changed any video card or video processing settings.   I don't have a hardware problem - it is a problem with Adobe first Pro CC.

I spent the maximum money on the hardware and the software more later/better (even though I hate paying a subscription for software).  And now this...   Moreover, I understand now and still not a bug, but when the screen goes black in a video software - well, it's like losing your direction while on the highway - it's sort of IMPORTANT - wouldn't you say Adobe?

I'll scream at Adobe on Monday, but have a serious work that must be done this weekend.

Is there any help that works?

You use the latest versions (which numbers?) of Adobe CC?

    Try resetting the workspace.

Try to update or restore your video driver.

Try to remove the media cache files.

    Try resetting preferences.

It is the sequence settings that alter the size and shape of the program monitor. Take a look at the title sequence / sequence, the size of the pixel settings should be the same images of you, if you are on CC, you should be able to change the settings if necessary.
