HELP, (start black screen, floppy drive 0 error of research)

at the start, it's a black screen saying "diskette drive 0 seek failure", with the option to press F1 to continue.  I don't have a floppy drive on my pc and have no idea how that happen suddenly.

I did and went everywhere for a solution without success.  I know it's an easy fix, but for the life of me, I don't know how.  As it is, I need to be on the pc press F1, whenever I get updates, etc.

Please help me find the correct solution and I will be eternally grateful.  Thank you in advance.

Your computer has a floppy inside drive?  If so, the drive has failed and should be replaced.  If not, or if you aren't sure what a floppy drive is :-) then you must go in your computer's BIOS Setup and disable the floppy drive option.  How do you and when you do this varies check so a computer at another manual support site or your computer for details online.

I have a HP Pavilion zv5410. When I turn it on it has a black screen and it beeps (1-2-2). I went on some sites about, but don't really understand what is happening.

  • Desktop computer do not start; black screen; keyboard does not.

Ok.  I turned on my desktop computer tonight and all I get is a black screen.  Keyboard does not work either.  Has gone through all the troubleshooting suggestions that I could find online (using my laptop), but nothing works.  I think maybe an automatic update Windows could be the problem.  You have any tips for me on what to try next?

  • Windows 8 will not start black screen.

It has been three days, I've tried everything I can find. I start my computer, I see the screen with the icon where you sigh, it loads and I get a black screen with a mobile cursor.

Any help I see is to go to this or that on desktop and run everything that... I CAN'T go to my office. I can't start a backup drive (managed to get a copy, because the computer did not come with one) without getting through desktop Start menu. I can't do it in safe mode without going through the menu through my office... What am I supposed to do when ALL I get is a black screen? No amount of ctrl + alt + del or restart lead me anywhere I try to reboot and I'm frozen on a blue screen that says loading. I hard reboot and I'm back to the black screen.
I would just reinstall, but the computer came preloaded so I don't have the keys.
    Someone help me please!
F8 and all other combos keys that I found online, do nothing, pull up no menus, still called gateway and they said tapping deletes during the power upward would pull up the menu bridge... nothing.

Well, I discovered something that many people do not know apparently. I called gateway and he was telling me what to do, get a crazy thought I was doing it wrong. All I had to do was press DELETE to get their menu upwards, but every time I did it I did have 'no signal' on my screen. After a huge clothing "Yes, my screen is plugged! When I don't type at least something shows to the top, etc etc... "he gave up and told me to drop it.

What I realized: you can't get through all the menus with a connected graph card. I don't know why I didn't think, in retrospect, that should be obvious, at least to a person in the forums help much, I went.
If you have a similar problem make sure that you are using onboard graphics (which means completely disconnect all other cards manually). Only then can come bios.
Arrived, made a fast start, has managed to get malwarebytes running and had 11 malicious files. How my boyfriend or I took those up is still a mystery, it's funny I did some quick tests every morning and they come clean. Guess I have to do a full analysis more often.

  • Satellite L850D does not start - black screen

Ok.. My wife L850D had problems with black screening started upward after the toshiba screen.

I ran a few different utilities, including a reset... it all started about 3 weeks after the victory 8.1 upgrade.

Rang technical support who kindly informed that because we put 8.1 on that he cancelled the guarantee. (btw nice guy)
    Then refused to help.

And went and reloaded Win 8 of my happens, just to see if it was a problem of hardware, software.
(yes I know, but it must have been only temp).

It starts fine, sitting there for centuries without problem.
It wasn't until I downloaded the drivers toshiba, (Yes the good) did a reboot and hey presto. black screen again.

A little, this would imply that there is a problem with the drivers of toshiba?

OK so the wife decided screw it, put Win 7 on it.
Restarted with disk in. sat and sat. Google finally informed me that I had to disable secureboot and put uefi in the csm.

OK fine, went into the bios, off course start, changed to the csm uefi and restart the computer.
Now I get nothing; screen all turns on, fan starts, cd rom shots on and nothing stops down immediately if I push the power button.

I pulled the battery, external and internal, let rest for half an hour and still the same thing.

    Any ideas?

The history is for me a little confused so let me start from the beginning with some basic stuff.
In your ad write you didn t what model do you have exactly (L850D-xxx) and I can't check the specs of the laptop but I presume that this laptop comes with preinstalled OS, probably Win8.
Laptop with factory preinstalled OS that includes all the necessary drivers and tools and utilities. One of them is Toshiba Recovery Media Creator. With this tool, you can create a recovery (DVD or USB) media and it lets reinstall the original OS if it s some problem and HDD recovery does not work.
Best option now would be to use these media and install original recovery image. Did you create this recovery media?

Generally speaking when you new notebook you do not have to use the original OS. You can install anything you want, and it has nothing to do with security. You can install any OS, all supported operating systems. So I do not understand how you could get info from technical support.

In any case, try please connect your laptop to the power supply and restart laptop. What exactly happens? See Toshiba welcome screen? Try pressing F12 repeatedly. There any reaction?

Where you see the message system disabled?  It is after Windows Vista starts upward or before that?

  • Windows could not start - black screen

My laptop does not start - I have a black screen with the message

Windows could not start.  A recent hardware or software change might be the cause.

    File CLFS. SYS

    Status: 0xc00000e9

Info: Windows could not load because a required file is missing or damaged.

I ran the Vista startup repair disk, but results from that start-up cannot repair this computer automatically.  root cause found: critcal C:\CLFS boot file. SYS is corrupt

I can't start in safe mode - when I try it starts to list files, stops after about 5 and then sends me the black screen message.

    Hello

To begin with, would not be clfs.sys C:\, it would be under C:\Windows\System32. This could indicate one of the following two issues:

    (1) your boot sector is damaged.

    (2) you have a virus masquerading as a legitimate system file.

For one, the first thing you should try are the steps detailed here: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/927392?p=1

    Hi Henry,.

You close the home screen by pressing the X (close) button? If so, then you'd see only BLACK screen. This is normal behavior (personally, I think that is not very useful). You can click on the FILE menu to create a new project and set up the workspace as usual.

  • Install and help with black screen / timeout

I'm pretty new to the scene of the VM and try to configure the ability for my bosses to connect to a virtual desktop, while they travel.  I have setup a Viewserver, a vCenter and a main domain controller.  I send you all the traffic through our firewall through the DMZ in the Viewserver.

When I test this connection locally from a PC on the same network through the Client view, it seems to work fine.  I have a beautiful office in Windows 7 can be used.  When I leave the office and go to any other Internet connection, I have a login name, provide connection information, and then a black screen and that's where he stays.  In the end (after 15-20 years or more) he told me that the remote connection has been completed.  Short version is it works on the inside, but not outside.

I have reviewed this error a few messages found and have made several steps such as insurance there is no active internal firewall (will re-enable them and fix them after I understand this), checked the Viewserver can properly search the PDC, the vCenter and so on.

I'm really stuck here and have tried different things for several days.  That's a lot of your time to test, because it works fine locally, so I have to leave the building and get an external Internet connection to test it out-> in.  I have the public IP address of the Ste of connection on its own domain.

For the purposes of this question, it is publicip.mydomain.com

Internally, the machines are set up as:

    PDC 192.168.11.202

    vCenter 192.168.11.203

    Viewsrv 192.168.11.204

The firewall is DMZ had to 192.168.11.204.

Any help would be appreciated in the sovereign.

    Thanks for the update.

If you have double checked these three steps, then it is probably time to use Wireshark to see what is blocking PCoIP in your environment.

Take a look at this post for more information on this. http://communities.VMware.com/message/1860992#1860992

You can initially run wireshark on the Client from the view, and then if that does not indicate where the Eastern bloc, then run it on the Security server. Look at just the traffic PCoIP. (4172 TCP and UDP 4172).

This is how some other people have fixed what you see.

  • iPhone ran out of battery, now wont start black screen after the apple logo

Hey not last night, but the night before, I forgot to plug my phone so it died while I was sleeping. When I woke up, I plugged and went a little. When I came back I noticed that the phones screen was on, but black. I tried to restart with the buttons and everything that I do not understand what could be wrong. The battery is not cause fried, it continues to display the apple logo then a black screen. I would prefer not to have my phone back and to lose everything, and I can't really afford to pay someone more than 200 to tell my my phone is broken, please help.

    Have you tried that?

Try a forced reboot. No data is lost during this procedure. Hold on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10 seconds until the Apple logo appears on the screen.

  • Satellite M60-128: start: black screen/delay/blocking

    Hello guys,.

    I have a strange problem with a Satellite M60-128.
When I start the laptop there are a few problems:

    * Sometimes the remains of black screen (no Toshiba logo) and the laptop does not start
    * Sometimes the laptop starts normally (when he hung before and I turned off with the power button)
    * Sometimes the Toshiba logo is visible but stop there

I also sometimes have a problem that the USB ports does not work. When I reboot, it works fine. When the USB ports fail, there is a warning in devices.

I made an update of the BIOS (v1.60) but the problem remains.

I noticed this: when the laptop does not start and I 'click' on the right button of the Toshiba logo toutchpad is visible and Notepad starts.

Anyone familiar with this problem or some knows a solution? Thanks for advantage.

    Andy

    > I noticed this: what laptop doesn t start and I 'click' on the keypad touch s right button the Toshiba logo is visible and Notepad starts

Very strange question usually the laptop should automatically start without pressing the button of the touchpad. For me, this is meaningless and it looks a bit like a motherboard problem
What do you think about this?

Have you tried to reinstall the operating system with the recovery CD Toshiba delivered?
Maybe you should do to make sure this isn't a software problem

  • Compaq Presario CQ61-420US no start/black screen

    Hi all.

I have a compaq presario CQ61-420US having similar problems below, except I have a black screen, fan flashing lights turns is the same (num lock and cap lock) but they Flash continuously every second or 2.  I tried the hard reset with the fix of ram, connect an external monitor, change the battery and the power adapter, nothing helps. I also used the air compressed on the vents, just in case was riddled with dust because it overheats and can cause problems, but nothing.

    Any other suggestions?

An option I can think of is to buy a new motherboard, but I'm going to try something else before that.

    AlexisGonzalezC,

You can try the above solution the other person sugguested.

Sorry, but it is very difficult to help without a touch your computer and troubleshoot it if there is a hardware problem.

I predict that GPU your computer has a pseudo brazing or cold joint problem.

    Good luck.
