How do I Back-Up/restore BlackBerry Smartphones?

I backed up my BlackBerry and tomorrow I'll probably get a new one.

How to restore this back to what I have on my current BlackBerry?

I just plug it back in and click 'restore'...?

It's my third-party applications? Will be restored?

When you receive your new phone, plug it in and go to backup/restore in DM and then restore and if it does not find the backup you made, you should be able to navigate to it and install it.

Except if you have made a backup for your third-party applications, you will not be able to restore those and will have to reload them.  This link should provide you with information on how to make the third-party backup app:

Add or remove a display language
See the BlackBerry Desktop Software help online for more information about adding and removing applications, including display

However, the online help for the software BlackBerry Desktop with the (4.2.2) device does nothing about it, and the application loader contains nothing on languages.
How can I return the German language?

    Hello

I suggest you go on the carrier's website and download the device OS you have on the PC.

You can then use the application loader to restore.

  • Restore BlackBerry Smartphones do not put everything back

We had a problem with our BES installation last week and reinstalled.  This caused a problem where on the phone it policy prevented it to activate and the solution was to wipe the device and put a political vacuum on the device.  This process is working and the unit synchronizes again; However, the backup, we did one of our VP (a storm on verizon service) phones is not restore its settings (font sizes, places of icon and various other things).

I did the restore, without restoring the storage on board, both with the formatting.  Out the battery after you remove and let stand for 30 seconds to force it to start cold doesn't help either not.  I'm fairly inexperienced with blackberries so I hope I've provided enough information could someone help get out me of hot water with this exec.

    Thanks in advance.

OK, found the problem.  The majority of the databases on the restoration is grayed out (I guess because he thought he had a policy preventing from getting these).  I wiped the device again, made an advance of restoration where a lot of things were is more gray and everything was like how it was before.

Company activatiion is blocked at 63% and has fallen by 64%, as I logged in, but at least, it looks like it's working again.

    Thanks for the tips!

Hello.  I have an 8830.  I discovered today that some of my notes have been removed or something that happened to them.  Is there a way to restore from my last backup and restore session?

    Thank you

Of course, Desktop Manager > backup/restore > advanced.

In the left pane, select file > open, navigate to the correct IPD backup file.

These data will be displayed on the left. Click on the memos to highlight and then the arrow to the right to move these data on your BlackBerry, and then follow the prompts that ensued.

  • Problems with update and restore blackBerry Smartphones

Hello I'm a newbie here, but have some problems with BB Bold 9900 updated.

During the update alls datas were recorded as usual during restart the BB there's an error to come, means that BB lost its operating system. I used the tips here and somwhere else to restore successfully. Unfortunately the data stored during the update process have not restored, even if the file already exists on my PC.

The file is called LoaderBackup-(2013-09-26) .bbb - so almost similar to the usual backup file.

Ho do I restore the data now?

Thank you much for the help.

Hi and welcome to the Forums!

Only one hope and I honestly don't know how the method handles the backup. I hope it's accurate. Search your entire hard drive to a file with the extension of the IPD (*.) Search RPI)... deeply, hidden in the and as well as system folders. Inspect the results - the date / time of the files will tell you when they have been created. If one was created around the time that you were doing this update, then you can use it as source for restore:

  • How to install the new BBM blackBerry smartphones

I tried to find a way to install the new BBM 5.0, but can't seem to understand. I am new to the blackberry world (3 days) and I got an old 8703e that is now configured on my line of personal relationships.

So I've updated the software (desktop and blackberry), but it said that my BBM is updated to 4.2.1

I'm on the outskirts of Bell to the Canada and can't do no matter how hard I try. If I go on blackberry Appworld, it cannot be downloaded any other way except by browser, which I don't have, I have only the email and BBM on my Blackberry. Am I stuck without internet for browse and locate this program?

To use install and use BlackBerry Messenger v.5:

    • A data plan from your wireless service provider

    • 2.4 MB of memory available smartphone
    • BlackBerry® Device Software v4.5 or later version
  • BBM contact to restore blackBerry Smartphones

    Hello..

I have the BlackBerry Curve 9360 with BBM 6.x version.

A few months ago, I upgraded in BBM v7, which cause the BBM app runs slowly.

Then I tried to restore to previous version by myself (cloth, etc.), but still I did not downgrade from my BBM version.

I therefore decided to go to the service center and ask them to reset my phone in the State brand new.

For the moment, I was sure after I reconnect using the same Id BB BBM contacts will be restored automatically.

But after that I got my phone from the service center (BBM v6.2) and then tried to login using the same Id of BB, I found that the BBM contacts are all gone.

Unfortunately, I have no any external backup for BBM contacts.

I am a newbie in this stuff and need some information about several things:

    (1) does the v6.2 BBM version causing the contacts passed (is not) while using the same Id BB?

    (2) if so, if I upgrade to v7 and re-login using the same Id BB, will be my BBM contacts restored?

    (3) is it possible to use the v6.2 release and get restored BBM contacts?

    Thanks for your comments

    Hello gutijose14...

    Thank you for your comments,

After having had a problem with performance in the previous update, I think the upgrade to v7 or above will be my last option.

In any case, after searching in my PC, I found an old BB backup data using BB Desktop Software (*.bbb), and after I restored it on my camera, I found "BBM-(yy-mm-dd-hh-mm).bak" files in my BB device.

so I tried to restore my BBM contacts since the last file using surveys BBM-> Options-> system restore, and I managed to restore about 80-90% (because it is an old backup) my BBM contacts and I agree with it.

So, private affair and just a tip to all of you who read this post,.

Please download BB Destop software from the official website of BB and backup ALL your data on your PC now, even if it is not any problem with our unit right now,

because we do not know what will happen to our device in 2,3 or 4 weeks/months in the future...

It's always nice to have a backup.

  • Media Restore blackBerry Smartphones

    Hello

I left my new "BOLD" on a train (* beep *) and had to return to my old curve. I saved the "BOLD" on 08/05/2010 and hit the back upward. When I restore the curve that none of my media files (images) are restored is that because they were on the memory card? If Yes is there a way to back this up as well in the future, I assume that that would happen automatically.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi and welcome to the forums!

"When I restore on the curve that none of my media files (images) are restored is that because they were on the memory card? Asked and answered!

The technical answer is Yes! I treat my media card as a flash drive for most of the functions and I have

usually, backup existing data to the PC. You only need work to do, and it helps

you keep the map updated with new media.

I think you'll see the option to save the media card in the Desktop Manager very soon

    MY HUMBLE OPINION.

  • How to change startup & shutdown screen blackBerry smartphones

Hi all! I am a newbie & I searched this topic without luck.

I've unlocked my device on a previous network and now use it on another. However, every time I start and turn off the device the old network logo and splash screen are on the screen.

How can I change this to something else, preferably BB OEM image logo or something?

    Thanks in advance!

    azharnasir wrote:

You mean that even if I update the firmware to the last she won't change it in stock?

The 'stock' of flash start screen IS the initial seller. You cannot change this, it is hardcoded for the firmware of the device. No upgrade of the OS to OS another carrier will change that.

Just ignore it. This is no big deal and is considered only for a few seconds each time you turn on. Personally, I have never even turn off my BlackBerry. I perform a battery pull reboot every two days and see this screen, rarely noticed.

  • How to bring back after restoring Vista SP1 SP2 operating system &?

I recently used the media supplied with my laptop to restore/reinstall the OS I have a feeling that I don't have it quite right... but my computer works fine. Better than he has for a while. Unfortunately, it's living in the past.

I had Vista Home Premium SP2 race and now I have only blocks of service of the House of Premium.No. I tried to install SP1 via Windows Update. It takes about 20 seconds. Update history said he "succeeded" but when I look in "Installed updates" is not there. Since then I have "successfully" updated for SP1 20 + times and the only one available for me now (available on several occasions) updated is SP1. My last installed update was September 21. Although windows update history shows "successful" updated all the way up to 15 October.

In the meantime I had went to the MS downloads site and found the stand-alone (936330 KB) version 5. I tried to install that and it seemed to work. For about 50 minutes. or so he worked there and then it is simply disappeared. Gone.No error message, nothing. I tried again and this time, it still seemed to work, but it has taken longer to disappear this time. After several other attempts, I gave up.

Since then, I tried a fix to this. Unfortunately, as evidenced by this post, I had no luck. I hope that someone out there has thought about it. I'm reasonably computer literate. More technical it more it receives, but I learn constantly.

    I use a Dell Inspiron 1720, Vista Home Premium, Version 6.0.6000, 32-bit, x 86, circa 2008. Intel Core 2 Duo CPU T5750 @ 2.00 GHz 2000 mhz carrots 2, 2 logical processors.  2 hard drives @ 320 GB ea. BIOS A09, 11/07/2008. Ver.2.4 SMBIOS.

I'm currently downloading a set of files to install vista home premium 32 bit x 86 with SP1. I hope that it will work. My other alternative is this Dell factory image restore point but I think it'd probably just in the same situation? Help.

    Hello

I don't know why you have problems with standalones.

This is the advice that we give the posters who have problems with Service Packs:

Click Start > right click on computer > left click on properties > see if you have Vista 32 bit or Vista 64-bit installed.

It will also tell you which SP you have installed.

Then, choose the download of 'bit' OK to use to install Service Packs, installation of SP1 first if it is not already installed.

    Vista SP1 32-bit (x 86): http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30
