  • Creating Windows DVD stops working

I rely heavily on Microsoft DVD Maker, as I created it and burned more than 300 DVDs.  Only until sometime last week (29 March - 3 April) an automatic update from Microsoft has prompted the download and installation and is the SP2.  After downloading, it prompted a message before installing indicating "little of your programs will stop working."  He never said what program and I don't think criticism main programs closing, installation, I continued.  And, since my Windows DVD Maker is unusable.

Yesterday, I restored my computer to standard manufactured.  During the installation of the Microsoft Vista operating system, without choice, I had to install with course Microsoft Updates, including service pack #2.  Needless to say that the problem still exists.  Apparently, Microsoft needs to release a patch for this problem as a result of its updates.

IM on my friends laptop loading his music on the computer via the CD and suddenly it just stopped reading his CD... its even not appear in my computer or anything it still opens and a light flashes... do not know if it is the light normal color well... any ideas

    Hello

Please make all below even if you have done some before as it is often the set of operations which solves
    the question.

    Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double-click on the device - driver tab - click
Update the drivers (this will probably do nothing) - then RIGHT click the drive - UNINSTALL - REBOOT
This will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue below.

Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a loose cable or
slight corrosion on the contacts (usually for a laptop) and other issues.

Another possibility is that the cables are loose. Remove ALL power, then make sure that the cables in both

contacts data with a pencil eraser.

Some DVD players do not use the Windows default drivers so check with the manufacturer of system and

    ===============================

Step 2: You have disc problems as the CD/DVD is actually 4 discs in 1 case (CD & DVD burning and)
Playback of CD and DVD). Therefore, it is not unusual for 1 or 2 rooms with not so work that others do it properly.

Did you follow the Troubleshooting Guide for the reader who still does not work? There are some registry entries
that the troubleshooter does not, and those who "could" be the cause.

Check with your system manufacturer Maker and device for possible firmware updates and the good
    Your player registry entries.

Here are the keys in my opinion, are those in question - for the reader of CD/DVD subkeys of course that he will be

  • x 220 power jack stopped working

    Hello

The power supply (port/card) has always been a bit wobbly in his hole but the other day it stopped any chance of turning on the laptop. It is not the adapter that is the problem, because it still works in my brothers laptop computer and its adapter does not work in mine.

So is the yellow jack and wire or the motherboard that is the problem. y at - there a way to check who has the problem related to the? Can be replaced easily enough, but I guess that the motherboard will be a complete cancellation? Maybe I can check the voltage at the connection somewhere? I looked but can not see anywhere to do this and I'm not an expert.

The power supply is called a 04W1680 editing DC-in cable in the manual. I can see theres some on ebay for $ 28ish.

Here are some pictures of the plug. I took apart all the way up to the motherboard. It turns out that x 220 HMM is slightly different in some places in my laptop but either. http://imgur.com/a/3sIb6

    Thanks for the help!

Seems to me that if you unplug the connector from the motherboard, and then plug the power adapter, you should be able to measure the voltage of the plug that goes into the motherboard.  No voltage is bad.  Worth.

Another would be to attach the portable computer to a docking (or ban) with the AC adapter plugged into the docking station.  If the laptop starts and the battery indicates charge chances are the MB is ok.

  • Power management stopped working under Windows 7

Plans balanced or energy-saving work. They were fine until a week or two it y a. laptop sleeps or in sleep mode extended. Screen saver lights. Have tried to change that and they still do not work. A ran sfc / scannow and no problem found. Windows is up to date. Any suggestion is appreciated.

    Hello

This problem may occur if some files associated with power management do not work properly.

    Follow these methods:

    Method 1.

You can run the troubleshooter of power to set your computer's power settings. The resolution of the problems of power check things as settings timeout of your computer, which determines how long the computer waits before turning off the display or enter the mode 'sleep'. These settings can help you save energy and extend the life of the battery in your computer.

    Open the power Troubleshooter: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/open-the-power-troubleshooter

    Method 2.

Make sure that you are logged on as an administrator. You can create a new power plan and check if that helps.

Change, create, or delete a power plan (scheme): http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/change-create-delete-power-plan-scheme#1TC=windows-7

    Method 3.

You can view the steps in this article and check if that helps.

Some say that you could restore the BIOS using factory default values with this. Here is a document that shows you how to restore the default BIOS settings. In this way, it will look at the hardware installed on your laptop.

You can try to use theWindows Update Troubleshooter to fix updates that do not come through Windows.  Please restart the laptop twice to make sure that all updates are completed!

  • drive CD/dvd stopped working after it by unplugging / plugging.

Hello. I use XP Pro and Lite-on DVDRW SHW-160P6S.

Recently, I unplugged to check another old drive I had and when I plugged in my Lite-On back inside, suddenly no longer works.

Device Manager will not display any errors. Uninstall and restart did nothing. Mr. Fix It says it found and corrected a few errors, but there is still a problem, he has been unable to solve.

I even reinstalled windows to see if that would help!

Cables are connected correctly. Everything is permissible and in working order and still he will not recognize all I put in the media.

  • TOSHIBA Power Pack pack stopped working after 12 months

Can't believe Toshiba power pack stopped working 12 months and 20 days after purchase.
I bought the warranty 'extended', but it does not cover something external to the laptop.

The unit itself is fine, but the Accessories pack must be less than this model (I've never had this problem with other laptops work).

Cost was $ 110 to replace.

    Thanks Toshiba.

    Hello

I agree with you, it's too expensive to buy a new one for $110. But the time for power supply operation 12 months is normal
