HP MediaSmart DVD and Cyberlink PowerDVD

I uninstalled PowerDVD 10 and everything is back to normal.

I can only play the M2TS with Panasonic HD Writer 2.1 files

(1) is it possible that HP Media Smart Software Suite will play the M2TS video files.
(2) HP Software Update Pages it shows PowerDVD Ultra Software Suite and PowerDVD 11 software.

    Hello

    OK, try the following.

As you use HP MediaSmart DVD to play discs, follow these steps.

HP now provides a version of PowerDVD 10 Cyberlinks which seems to be a better solution.  Download the latest installer for it on the link below and save it in your downloads folder.

    http://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp56501-57000/sp56904.exe

Once the download is complete, open windows control panel, open programs and features, make a right click the entry for HP MediaSmart DVD and select uninstall - when this process is complete, restart the laptop.

When windows has reloaded, open your downloads folder and double-click Setup for PowerDVD 10 start the installation.  Once done, see if your discs now plays OK.

  • HP MediaSmart DVD - no disc in drive

I'm not gifted in the forum, so I apologize if this is in the wrong place... I bought a HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook PC a few months ago. I watched DVDs using the HP MediaSmart DVD player with no complications until about 2 weeks ago, when it just stopped recognizing discs in the drive (I have tried many, it is not the DVD). I'm still able to play DVDs through Windows Media Player, is not a problem with the driver (if I'm wrong, what I've read). I have been scrolling of pages not useful instructions or complicated about how people are trying to solve this problem, without success, that seems. While I'm usually pretty good at my way through problems using convenience stores etc. of detachment, this one has left sufficeintly mouth gaping. I hope I gave enough information, and that help is at hand! Thank you =)

    Hello

If you have recently installed a Comodo or that you have already installed, after the return.

If this isn't the case, I would like to uninstall using Revo Uninstaller on the link below.

    http://www.revouninstaller.com/download-freeware-version.php

After installation, run revo, right-click on mediasmart dvd and choose uninstall.  During the process, you will be asked to remove the registry entries, it just select all and click on delete. Do the same thing to the left on files and folders, when asked.  When you're done, restart your computer.

Download the latest version of the mediasmart dvd for your model of the HP Web site (you will need to enter your exact model, for example, dv6-2112ea, chose the software and downloads, select your operating system, then go to the media section) and run the installer.

Let me know if you have any problems.

    Best wishes

  • HP G72-101SA: Re-installing HP DVD Suite / Cyberlink PowerStarter 7.0 / PowerDVD 8.0 etc..

    Hello

My hard drive HP G72 failed.  I have replaced with a new 120 GB SSD, I re-installed Windows 7 Home Premium, Office 2010 and all the pilots involved.

The only other software I want to reinstall is the Suite of DVD HP / Cyberlink PowerStarter 7.0 which came with my computer laptop (YouCam, PowerDVD, Power2Go, PowerDirector, MediaShow & LabelPrint) I am happy with the software, I really don't want to upgrade.  I can't find anywhere that allows me to download the software.  I have my original license key/series number.

Can you please tell me where I can download the software or provide a link that will allow me to do?   I don't have a return to the top of my program files if I am able to extract from there somehow, in which case I'd appreciate some instructions?  No technical huigely I'm afraid, not sure why I didn't program files, I think that I just tried it on an external hard drive.

    Thank you.

    Hello:

If you have a backup of your original installation swsetup folder, the program installation files should be in this folder in one of the folders sp # void.

They have cryptic abbreviations in the swsetup folder, so you'll have to explore their out that have the files.

Not all programs are available for download.

I found a few links to the case where you can't find the installation files in your swsetup folder.

Don't know if they will work on your specific model.

  • Laptop of HP ENVY TS m7: Cyberlink PowerDVD no longer DVD

Many others have asked about it even in various related situations. I'm looking for an answer to a Support HP technician who has successfully tested this issue on my laptop model HP and Windows 10.

I am running Windows 10 Pro, version 1511 (OS Build 10586.104) on my laptop HP ENVY TS m7 with Cyberlink PowerDVD version 10.0.8.5004 PC.

PowerDVD 10 has worked fine until yesterday. He played a DVD rented without any problem. When I tried to play again I got this error message: "the MPEG-2 video support is not available for this product. You can upgrade your product to the MPEG-2 video support"(see the screenshot image attached below).

My temporary solution is to download and install the freeware VideoLAN VLC Media Player, version 2.2.2 of this link http://get.videolan.org/vlc/2.2.2/win32/vlc-2.2.2-win32.exe then opens Control Panel, AutoPlay, DVD movie and "Play DVD Movie (VideoLAN VLC Media Player)". This allows me to still play DVDs on my laptop.

However, Cyberlink PowerDVD had some very good features and I would like to continue using it. Another user was advised to uninstall Cyberlink PowerDVD and replace it with this download: http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp71501-72000/sp71924.exe . Sp71924 is compatible with my model laptop and operating system? I don't want to just try and possibly make things worse.

Also, why so many people have the same problem using their versions of Cyberlink PowerDVD OEM? Is - it simply a plan Cyberlink to force users to pay for a product valued? It seems to me that HP needs to do something about it immediately to maintain their credability and their integrity. That is why I particularly recognizing an answer from HP directly, although others are welcome to offer their advice.

Thank you all for your generous help.

    See you soon,.

  • Pavilion g7-2300: Cyberlink PowerDVD plays more DVDS.

    Hello

Can't read DVD on my HP Pavilion g7-2300 laptop.   I've had this laptop for a while and I was able to play DVDs until a few days ago, but today when I inserted a disc I got this message:

When I click on "learn more" he leads me to a Web page where there are newer versions of the software from cyberlink media available for purchse.  As you can see in the picture there is an ad for one of the versions.

There was an update available for the software Cyberlink PowerDVD, and I installed it.  This did not fix the issue and I still get the same message as above.   I also tried to read different DVDs.

I have PowerDVD OEM version 10.0.8.5723 and uses Windows 8.1.  I had Windows 8.1 for many months and as I said I could read before the DVD with this version of windows.

As I though I know it is not a trial version.  He asks me to buy an upgrade not a full version, that's what leads me to believe that this is not a trial version.

    Why change suddenly?

Unfortunately the Windows Media Player software on my laptop is not reading DVDs.   I tried a Quicktime software, but it doesn't seem to be all available for Windows 8 or 8.1.

I find it weird because in all the decades I used and had computers this is the first time I said that I have to purchase the software in order to use the equipment provided with my computer.

  • Windows Media Player and Cyberlink DVD Power

    Hello

I have a two part question: 1) how is it that when I try to use Windows Media Player to play my DVDs on my computer, it will automatically switch to the Cyberlink Power DVD program? and (2) can someone tell me why Cyberlink Power DVD program plays all DVDs, some DVDs I try to play on my computer just end up in an empty black screen?

    Thank you.

    Hi Barry,.

It seems that the default program to play DVDs is changed to Power DVD.

    1. you can choose a different program by changing the AutoPlay settings. Read the following article, and then select Windows Media Player for the categories you want than the media player to read.

    Change AutoPlay settings

  • BlueRays disks will not play the HP Envy 17 with Windows 8.1 and Cyberlink Media Suite and Power DVD

DVD will load successfully and play, but BlueRays won't, even if this computer has a BlueRay player and Cyberlink software to play.  It recognizes the title of BlueRay, seems to load the disc then returns to the initial screen and does nothing.  When I click on play, Cyberlink application if I want to restart or resume playback.  Either select the button comes back to me early in the process.  Any suggestions?

I downloaded sp63425.exe earlier today.  Which corrects the problem.  Thanks a lot for your help!

  • Blu Ray player and HP MediaSmart DVD problem

I recently bought a hp with a hp w2408h m9515y desktop computer.  This computer came equipped with a Blu Ray player and when I tried to play a movie for the first time on hp mediasmart dvd I got the message 'content is protected', "the content is not allowed to play in the current display mode.  I also tried to play blu ray on windows media player and windows media center and had no chance.  I spoke with hp and geek technical support team of the best buy also with no luck.  If anyone has any advice I would appreciate it, of course.  Thank you

  • CyberLink PowerDVD 12 read error

I have a computer laptop 15-g094sa HP with Windows 8.1 (64 bit) and for all of my day yesterday, I spent time trying to do my job of PowerDVD 12 .

Some time ago I wanted to watch a DVD, and when it came to the language selection screen and frozen just when I clicked "English". I opened the Task Manager and has completed the session, then tried to restart the DVD and it was always freezing there. I tried several times, but with it still does not, I just dropped.

Around a week later (yesterday), I wanted to watch a different DVD and after the opening scenes (for example my FRIENDS DVD he manages to pass the 'Warner Home Videos' opening), when it comes to go to the main menu of the DVD, it comes up with the box of "PowerDVD12.exe has stopped working" and a crash report of 'Cyberlink PowerDVD can't read disc. Code 0102 =':

I tried to replace the files in the folder Cyberlink of HP laptop to my sister, but I got it audio light, no display and the bar "minimize, maximize and close" is not.

I tried to do the system restore on the 7th, which would mean that I would get the original files, but not far enough to the date that it froze, but after that I got the message that he had failed as a result of my antivirus, I tried two more times with disable my antivirus and the two antivirus and firewall , but still, it did not work.

I uninstalled from the Control Paneland went to "Software and driver downloads HP for my PC. I downloaded the recent PowerDVD 12, he spent the FRIENDS menu screen, but played only 5 seconds of the disc before it gives me the error again.

I tried to install later versions of PowerDVD 12, but it did not work.

These are the versions (in purple) I tried to install:

Browsing the forums I tried the HP System Recovery to reinstall, it does not always work.

(I noticed that when you install PowerDVD, it asks to load/scan files from my computer, after pressing 'next', it loads the homepage of PowerDVD, and symbol loading for my files loading freezes for a bit, then the error message.)

So now, I'm completely stuck on what to do.

I tried with other discs to be sure, but just as FRIENDS, my DVD Twilight more than the opening credits, but never reached the main menu selection screen.

    Help, please!

    Thank you for your answer!

I managed to run through to repeat my previous steps, but dividing them with reboot and use is not the option scan videos, photos or music files for the media!

I uninstalled it again from the Control Panel, found that PowerDVD files still existed in the Program Files (x 86) folder, so I deleted them. After doing this, I restarted my laptop.

I went to HP Recovery Manager and re-installed Cyberlink PowerDVD 12, finished, I rebooted my laptop again.

Open PowerDVD, chose the option of choosing particular to analyze file destinations and click icon trash bin on all files (music, videos and photos) and inserted my Twilight drive and it worked!

It seems that my problem was the analysis of the media files maybe?

Thanks for you answer well and offering this option to me. I hope that if anyone has the same problem as me, they try two possible solutions

  • HP MediaSmart DVD C++ runtime error

    Hey guys,.

I have a little problem with MediaSmart and I hope someone will know what to do...

Today, I bought the 'Back to the future' trilogy on blu - ray. When I tried to play it, asked MediaSmart update, I did. Without the update, the film would not start at all. After the update, I finally managed to enter the disc menus and went through the bonus material, but when I tried to play the main movie, MediaSmart crashed with error caused by the Microsoft Visual C++ runtime library. Even tried to reinstall Microsoft Visual C++, but nothing has changed.

All of my other blu - ray movies work perfectly and I really have no idea what is wrong. Anyone here with similar problem?

Make a Windows restore point and go back before installing the time that I had the Media Smart DVD version that I gave you at least that this will get back you to square 1.

Before going on the 'C' drive and click on "Program Files x 86" > Hewlett-Packard > Media.» If there is still a folder there named "DVD" then there are remnants of left Media Smart DVD that should not be there. Right click and 'Remove' the DVD file and run registry cleaner CCleaner. Reboot and run the cleaner once and try again to install Media Smart.

See also this thread, it's kind of long, but there may be a solution in there.
