HP OfficeJet 7612: Scanning through questions flat

Good day to all,

I am a technician to the printer of the client who has been recently bought and installed. Insofar as the drivers and Setup, everything was a success and the customer, but also the other members of the staff were all able to print and scan. Analysis via the touchscreen interface was successful as well as scanning HP desktop utility.

I recently received a call from the client yesterday, indicating problems when you try to scan A3 paper through the plateau. The document analysis but for some reason, he will be absent from the parts of the original document. It will not analyze the full length and width of the document. What happens when analysis via the touch screen interface; "Scan to PC".  has started to solve problems using my MacBook Pro (no one was using a desktop PC and using my camera allowed me to be the printer as well as not disturb the customer to do its job).

When I did a scan on the A3 document via my Macbook, he did the samething. So I expanded (if I remember correctly) this 'more details' button that allowed me to choose the size of the scanning, which then allowed the analysis complete of the A3. I went to the Office of customer and analyzed through the utility that has given a proper analysis of the document. I then went back to the interface touchscreen, to digitize and curiously, the scan came out good. There is no option to select the size of the (as far as I've seen) so I didn't pay anything. I made repeated sweeps and they came out all now own. It affected also copy A3 documents because the scan took the whole docment. I made a copy and he now printed the entire document successfully.

For me, it was a little confusing because all of a sudden, it's working fine now and I know that I did nothing. So when troubleshooting another question, there, I took the officer's cell phone to test. I decided to test the scanning on the laptop as well as with the A3 document via the touch screen, and the same problem occurred. The scan using the HP utility on the laptop produces a correct analysis. Did the scan via the touch screen, and the scan came out good.

So what I did to get a document format letter to analyze the cause I have a theory that I wanted to test. Analysis of the doc size letter, via Scan to PC on the printer , product, if you want, an A3 size scan. The digitized document correctly letter size, but there was like a white around the document border, creating for the missing part of an A3 size document. I scan on the laptop via the HP utility and selected the letter size, carried out the analysis and it came out good. Going back to the printer to use the scan to PC has produced a correct analysis of a PDF letter size. I then put in the A3 and did the Scan to PC again and it has not produced an appropriate analysis in question. That the part of the letter of the A3 document was scanned.

Conclusion:

Analysis via the tools on the PC, gives a successful analysis. Whereas, the scan to pc via the interface on screen touchscreen printer gives the question. If a person did a scan of the letter, and then a second person scan an A3, the printer scans only the part of the letter of A3 paper. If someone did a scan of the letter after a previous A3 scan, the paper will be scanned but the extra part of the A3, will be seen as a huge white border.

For me as a technician speaking and seeing that this issue is irritating (shocking but always irritating) and much more for those who use the printer to scan; so you can imagine the mindset they are whenever they try to do their analysis and deal with this problem.

I overlooked anything? Is there something that can be done about it? Thank you :-)

Hello

Thank you for using the HP Forums.

You are absolutely right, the "Scan to Computer" takes the setting of the last known software (utility) HP scan setting.

No work around known but this behavior is on most HP printers.

Thank you.

    Hello

A few days ago, I bought an all-in-one OfficeJet 7612 and from the beginning I am not be able to scan to the computer (only to emails or usb).

    It's what I've tried and I get:

    1. Install the drivers and full software from the CD provided with the product: It appears to turn on the option scan to the computer . But whenever I try to do, a message in the iMac says: could not establish a connection with the printer.
    2. Download the last update on the HP driver support site: He always says that to computer scan cannot be enabled, and that I should download and install the latest driver.
    3. Installation using AirPrint printer: It recognizes the printer and even the fax feature, but never the scanner.

I don't no what to do, it looks like there is no full support for my 7612 in Yosemite.

Can anyone help me?, I'm doing something wrong?

OK, I managed to do this work, that's what I did:

    1. Uninstall the HP driver through the uninstall program that comes with it.
    2. I deleted these two files from the: < youruserhere > /Users//Library/Preferences
    • com.apple.print.custompresets.forprinter.Officejet_7610_series.plist
    • com HP. DeviceMonitor.plist
    1. Restart the iMac (I don't know if that helped, but I did anyway).
    2. Install the printer using AirPrint.

I deeply thank RnRMusicMan who was helping me through all this time trying to make this work.

I hope this can help someone who found this problem too.

After taking a glance in the specifications of the product for 7612 JO under the Specs of scan, it lists:

  • Printer Officejet 7612: scanning Officejet 7612

When I put something to scan, it scans the entire page. So I have to manipulate away. The old HP printer I had would be size of the element for you instead of showing initially as a full page. It's 8.5 x 11, is what you would get. If it was 3 x 5, it's what you'd get. Is this normal for this printer. You always have to be scanned, and then crop to the size and rescan for the correct size?

    Hello

Thank you for using the forum.

You can actually set the page size of the document to be scanned.  (as shown). You can also click on "Automatic East" auto Guide document.

The user guide for the 7612 Officejet says on page 167 of the printer supports printing recto verso on support for legal (as well as the formats A3 and tabloid) format.  I installed the driver in my system Windows 10 and I can confirm that the driver allows you to select duplex with the legal size printing.

Page 65 of the manual Officejet Pro x476dw is similar, it indicates support for duplex up to legal size printing.

    Hello @sprinklerlady!

Thanks for posting on the HP Forums!

I should be able to provide assistance on your Officejet 7612 does not scan multiple pages in a single document.  It looks like you can have just a software problem.  I think it would be a good idea to start over again and get rid of all printing software and reinstall it.   Once the uninstall is complete, it would be wise to perform a cleanup of the computer disk. A disk cleanup will improve the performance of the computer and remove the temporary files that may cause problems during the installation of the software. Once disk cleanup you must restart the computer and reinstall the HP software.

  • Question of ink Officejet 7612 picture

I recently bought an Officejet 7612 to replace a 7310 who died.  I was very impressed by the ability of the 7310 to print photos, however, he used a special photo cartridge to replace the black ink cartridge to get the best quality photos of this printer (even if it is true, he did do a decent job with just black and tricolor cartridges normal installed).  I don't see a photo cartridge similar to printing of photos available for the 7612.  The two test photos of the 7612 I printed came out rather well, unfortunately, I can not print them off the 7310 for comparing the quality of the photos.

My question is, is there an ink cartridge for the 7612?  HP finished far who with their printers today because they can print photos without the special photo cartridge?

    Hello

    Not in the following list.

    http://WWW8.HP.com/au/en/products/printers/product-detail.html?OID=6877295#! tab = OAS

If you want to print pictures, there are a lot of printers to do this job such as Photosmart class printers.

I recently bought a HP Officejet 7612 all-in-one printer and it connects to my wireless network and when plugged directly into the computer with a USB cable, the computer recognizes it as a 7610 and then windows search for drivers, unless a driver is but the printer is unable to connect to the system.  The installation disk supplied with the printer is a 7610 model.  I tried to go online to HP and download the drivers and the error message still appears. I bought a 7610 in June and the printer immediately hooked to my wireless network and working properly without any problem of driver.

I have to the best of my knowledge through all the troubleshooting steps HP recommends at least twice with the same results.  I tried updates, patches, everything that can update the software that came with the printer so that it can connect.  Always the same result.  It can not connect through the wireless and wired, he can't download all the drivers. the wireless on the printer icon is on.  My operating system is Windows 7 Ultimate 64.

  • HP Officejet 7612: analysis of problems after installing Windows 10

After installing Windows (prior to Windows Vista) 10, scan documents with my HP Officejet 7612 became a hell of a job.

    Printing is no problem.

With Webscan, I can only scan and save 1 page at a time, I can not scan several pages of the document 1 more.

I downloaded "Extended Scan" but when I try to use this app, it says "year error occurred while scanning" without more information.

With "HP Scan and capture" I can't scan the size of A3 paper full of documents and there seems to be no possibility to change the size of a3 paper. Maximum size is 'legal letter '.

Same problem with "Windows Fax and scan."

Are there other ways to recover the possibilities of full scan from my HP Officejet 7612?

    Hi @JOGL,

Thank you for joining the HP Forums!

I understand that computer analysis can not be activated as well as the scan and combine them into a single pdf document. With your printer HP Officejet 7610. I am pleased to see that for you!

At this time for this model. There is no software and drivers for Mac OS X 10.12 again, given that the operating system has just been launched, it could take some time. For the time being, you can try to use HP Easy Scan to see if that can meet your scanning preferences. In otherwise, all we can do is wait for the software and drivers to be released.

  • OfficeJet Pro scan 8610: 8610 computer software not found

Hi - I have a fairly new Officejet Pro 8610 and it uses a wireless network with a MacBook Pro. Wireless printing function works perfectly; and, as a first step, the it function analysis did too. Without apparent reason, has now ceased to work, and every time I try to activate using the HP app, I get an error message indicating that the required software/driver is not found on the computer. However, I re-downloaded and installed the driver full value several times on the site of HP (no effect). The computer always communicate perfectly with the printer, and I'm able to activate the scan through the Mac system preferences function.

    Hey @pleigh20,

    Welcome to the HP forums!

I see that you have problems with your Officejet Pro 8610 scanning your Mac 10.9. I can help you with that.

Given that you have a problem scanning I want to make sure that the printer is plugged directly into a wall outlet and not a surge protector. Once this is done, we will do everything that follows.

    1. On your Mac, go to Applications.
    2. Open your Hewlett-Packard folder.
    3. Run Uninstall HP if it is present.
    4. Go to Applications and utilities.
    5. Open disk utility.
    6. Click "Macintosh HD" on the left.
    7. Click on verify disk permissions. It will take about ten minutes.
    8. Click on repair disk permissions. It will take about ten minutes.
    9. Restart your Mac.
    10. Go to your Apple icon and the software updates. Download the updates that are found.
    11. Download and run the HP Installer (if you need the link you can click here).
    12. Try scanning.

I would like to know if it works for you. If it's not please let me know what happened and I will be able to help you further. Even if it solves all please let know clicking on accept as Solution below my post.

  • Office Jet 7612: Scan of the computer does not work after you win 10 improvement

One of my clients has an officejet 7612 and has improved to win 10 to win 8 and lost the "Scan to PC" features themselves the printer he used for years to create his PDF files.

Print and scan drivers seem to work to scan and print from the computer to the printer, but the printer software that was authorized to create PDF and JPEG of the scanner and send them to the computer doesn't seem to work.

Is there any solution for this?

Y at - it another way easy to make PDF files or is this feature lost with the upgrade?

    Shane Valcich

    Hello

Thank you for using the HP forum.

You can download and install the software COMPLETE features of HP printing for your operating system:

Once you have downloaded and installed the software, FULL of features, you will be able to print and scan.

    How to scan to computer

To scan from printer to computer, you need to install the printing software full of features first.
Once you have installed the software,

    1. click the printer (on your desktop) and it will bring up the HP printer Assistant.
    2. in the menu analyze, there is a 'manage Scan to Computer', click on that.
    3. make sure that 'enable' the Scan of the computer. Also check the tab "Automatically start Scan of the computer when I connect Windows" is to check if you want to have this feature permanently. (an example is shown below)
