HP support does not

Hi all

Downloaded hp support connects ok then stops any ideas

Hello

Try the following

Firstly, uninstall your current version of HP Support Assistant using Microsoft 'Fixit' at the following link: this is particularly useful for correcting problems that may prevent resettlement on the machines running a 64 bit OS.

http://support.Microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_Uninstall

When this has completed, restart the laptop.

Then download and install the latest version of HP Support Assistant of the page on the link below - the download links are to the bottom of the page.

http://h18021.www1.HP.com/helpandsupport/HP-support-Assistant.html

After installation, restart the computer again.

Kind regards

  • I need a driver/files mouhid.sys, my mouse support does not work. Please thank you!

I need a driver/files mouhid.sys, my mouse support does not work.  Please thank you!

Hmm, a strange thing to have disappeared.  Do you have a virus or checked for malware scanner?

The mouhid.sys file is supposed to be in % systemroot%\system32\drivers.  You pouvez find a copy of it in % systemroot%\dllcache.  If it's not in... \drivers and is in... \dllcache, recopy the... \drivers.  (You may need to do this in Mode safe.)

Except for the above bit of luck, there are several ways to recover.

    1. use msconfig:

Get your installation CD or locate a copy online
Since an administrator account, run msconfig ( -R, msconfig)
When "msconfig" opens, select the "Général" tab and click on the button "expand file...". »
(This will open the window to "Develop a Source of Installation file")

Enter 'mouhid.sys' in "file to restore:
Enter the path to the DRIVER. CAB file in the \i386 on your installation media directory.
    (or browse to...)
Enter "c:\windows\system32\drivers" in the "save in:" entry.
    Click "expand".
'mouhid.sys' is now where never told you develop to...

2 use the utility auditor of system files (SFC) to check the missing files and restore them if necessary.
You will again need your installation media and, if you have installed the Service Packs, the CD-ROM for
the latest Service Pack, you have installed.

From an administrator account, type: -R, sfc/scannow

SFC calls for, first of all, your installation media, and then later the service pack CD-ROM.  If SFC wants to replace the files, leave.  If the SFC rejects your Service Pack CD-ROM, read the KB900910 Microsoft Knowledge base article.  Note that this article applies to SP2, but is also applicable to the SP3.  Just use your common sense and use SP3 where the article refers to SP2.

If you don't have a CD-ROM Service Pack 3, or order it (U.S. / Canada , Europe, Africa , Asia or South America ) from Microsoft or download the ISO (here ) and burn it.  Be sure to Select the appropriate language if you download ISO.  Note, I recommend that you install Service Pack 3 on a CD-ROM, rather than through Windows Update so that youpouvez use SFC with success!

My driver support does not work all the time, won't let me connect, keeps losing internet connection.

What do you mean by "driver support?

If you have installed one of these offers of support software driver, you have installed malware.  The vast majority of them no useful software and installing a lot of malware on your computer.

The drivers are not the soft thing you should normally be updated.  I recommend the updated drivers only in the case of a problem that has to solve, and it's rare.

Is the ONLY source, you should consider for driver updates or OEM support site.  Even those who sometimes go way overboard in trying to update the drivers.  The latest Dell systems are equipped with updated software that checks for new updates every day.   In most cases, drivers are rarely updated after the first year of a product.

  • Portege R500 - keyboard USB Legacy support does not work

    I have a Portege R500-124

I use it to dock in the office and the lid is closed, so I need to enter a password for DriveCrypt and generally control the boot/BIOS from a USB keyboard. But no matter what I set the setting that is inherited from the USB in the BIOS, the USB keyboard does not work. I tried the keyboard connected directly to the R500 when undocked and it's all the same. I also tried BIOS 1.6 and that's all the same.

USB keys are working and I can boot from them, but no work of measures (for example, F12 to choose the BOOT device) keyboard - the R500 doesn't seem to have the functional USB keyboard support until an operating system (Windows or Linux) has started.

    Any ideas?

Microphone is not recognized by VISTA - on map 2 & 4 microphone. It's a VISTA issue. Just got new PC from Cyberpower PC in April 2009. Very disappointed that Microsoft is ready to scrap VISTA - would be to wait. I've done a clean install twice. You won't anymore. I am a holder of shares - ready to drop you & Mac in the future.

    Hello Danquinnelly

Please write to the Microsoft Forums.

To help you better, please answer the following questions

    1. What is the brand name of the Microphone?

    2. do you have this problem with another computer?

    3. have you checked if the Windows Logo is compatible with Windows Vista when installing the drivers?

    4. have you tried reinstalling the drivers?

It seems that the microphone is not properly configured on your computer. You can try to solve the problems more microphone/line-in following the steps, in order, to test, check the connections and the hardware, update the audio drivers and configure the audio settings of Windows. If you follow these steps in the correct order, you will fix the problem or you will find that the audio software must be configured or updated.

Step 1: Test of an audio signal

    1. click on Start, then Control Panel.

    2. click on hardware and soundand then click manage audio devices...

    3. click on the recording tab.

    4. to test the microphone, speak into it. To test the line, send a signal to the line at the port of devices audio source (press play on the audio player). Look at the gray bars next to the name of the device under the recording tab:

(A). If the gray bars next to the device name turns green, this device is active and an audio signal is passed through port microphone or line-in. This step shows that this problem is related to sound parameters in the software that uses the microphone. If you have not already done so, set the device selected by default and adjust levels. Once the device is set by default and levels are defined, use and adjust the sound recording or voice carrying software.

    (B) if the gray bars remain inactive and grey, the device does not have a signal. Leave the record open tab and go to the next step.

Step 2: Check the volume levels and mute

The volume of the speaker to the microphone and line - in may be activated or rejected. Use the following steps to check the volume of speaker for line and microphone levels.

    1. click on Startand then click Control Panel.

    2. click on hardware and sound.

    3. click on her.

    4. Select speakers, and then click Properties.

    5. click on the levels tab.

    6. click the button of Muted next to Microphone and on any other line that is cut.

    7. use the slider to increase the micro level and each line at least 75.

    8. click on OK.

Step 3: Update the audio drivers

You can see a front-end port microphone does not work, a recording device is missing in the recording tab, a microphone is not recognized when it is plugged in, or any other problem. There may be updates audio drivers that can solve this kind of problem. Use the following steps to ensure that the audio drivers are up to date.

    1. connect to the Internet.

    2. click on Startand enter the Device Manager in the start search field.

    3. click on the plus sign next to sound, video and game controllers.

    4. right click on the name of the sound material, and then select Update driver software....

    5. click search automatically for updated driver and wait for Windows to update the driver software.

6 Windows checks a remote Web site to see if the update of the driver software is available.

    A. Si an update is available, let Windows install the update.

Si an update is not available, proceed to the next step.

    7. once the update is successfully installed, test the microphone or line like that was made in step 1. If the problem persists, proceed to the next step.

Step 4: Configuration of Windows registry settings

By default, Windows Vista automatically activates microphones and line-in ports. Use the following steps to set the microphone/line-in port to be the default port and configure the logging levels.

    1. If the recording in the Audio window tab is not selected, open the sound and click the recording tab and make sure the State is defined as below.

(- Port micro - A work) and set as default

    (B) - Line In - work

    (C) - Digital (port S/PDIF) - work

    (D) - stereo mix (mixer software) - disabled

    2. If several microphones or line - in ports are available, select the port you want to use. Click set as default to make this device default audio input device.

    3. If the device you want to use contains a small circle with an arrow pointing down, the device is disabled. To activate the device, right click on the device name and select Activate.

    4. with the selected device, click Properties, and then click the levels tab.

    5. adjust the slider up to 75% of its range.

    6. If the mute is enabled, click the button mute to reactivate the device. The mute button should show as a blue speaker without any red circle.

    7. If the Microphone Boost is available, adjust and + 20.0 dB.

    8. click OK to make the changes.

    9. test the microphone as was done in step 1 to determine if Windows is able to detect a signal from the microphone or line used.

If you have completed all the steps and the microphone or the source device still does not work, the audio ports or the computer's sound hardware can be bad.

    It will be useful.

    Thank you and best regards,

    Dinesh

    Hello flowerbud414,

I see that you have trouble with the support Wizard on your HP computer. I have some suggestions that can help your question.

You must uninstall and reinstall the program to fix the error message. If you are unable to find the program in the list "Add or remove programs", you can try to find it by using the program in this link. It is a program of removal of software and it goes into the registry of the computer and remove all parts of the program.

Once you remove it, reinstall the program and the error should be fixed.

Original title: Help and Support Center

I'm finding that doing a search using Help and Support Center search box, looking for is more responses on the microsoft site, as it has already done. This aid was dropped for Microsoftxp home version 2002 service pack 3 , or is there a problem that I don't know about my system? Any help or information would be appreciated.

For those who have experienced this problem

    1 create a new user

    2. move ( NOT copy) all of your files and folders in My Documents,my music, my pictures, and my videos folders of your damageduser profile for the new user profile in place corresponding installs under this new profile.

    3. do not copy or move hidden files or folders that you do not have created and hidden from yourself.

    4. you must also ensure you save settings, emails and contacts (contacts already in the .pst in Outlook file) by using the appropriate method for your e-mail program to allow for the recovery of these in your new profile.

    5. you can export your Favorites RSS (and biscuits)Internet Explorer under your old profile to a file in your new profile, and then import them from your new profile, after that you run Internet Explorer from here.
