HP6500A more: HP 6500 a Plus - cannot print/scanning

I tried to follow all the instructions posted already and still can't print wireless. I recently updated my internet (Uverse). I went through the process of installing the printer. I downloaded the latest version of the driver. When I try to add the printer, it appears to select. Please notify.

Hi @NJrK,

Welcome to the HP Support forum.

I understand that you have a HP Officejet 6500 a Plus e-All-in-One that you are trying to connect wirelessly to your computer Mac OS X 10.10 Yosemite, but the printer is not displayed and therefore can be added. I would like to help with that.

You mentioned that you have recently updated the update your internet and you joined the printer to your network.

If you have a double router broadband, make sure it is on the 2.4 GHz band. If your router is set to the 5 GHz band, the printer cannot connect to the network. If your router has a framework joint, using the two bands, that would work too.

Make sure the router supports "Hello." Hello is what Apple calls its wireless printer Protocol. It may be a setting, (ISP) Internet service provider may have to activate.

Here is a document that you can use that can help you with this problem - printer not found during Network Driver Setup (OS X).

Please let me know if that solves the problem, or if you need assistance.

In fact, if it helps you to find a solution, please click on the 'accept as Solution' and the 'thumbs up' buttons down below in this message.

Thank you!

That's why scanning works programs MSPaint or Windows scanning and Fax but not HPs Scan App.

The indications are very simple and are as follows

    1. Find the folder where 7zip extracted your web pack (the directory starts with 7Z)
    2. In this folder, navigate to the drivers\scanner\x32\ folder.
    3. Copy the HPWTIOP4. DLL from that folder to the Program Files (x 86) \HP\DigitalImaging\Bin folder

  • HP Officejet 6500 a Plus: printer claims to reboot and LED flashing (unusable)

    Hello

I have a printer problem, which causes the software printer crashing.

When I run the printer the printer's startup, welcomes me with the menu and after 1 second, he says: problem with downloading, gerts a blue screen with error b814A382 , then it jumps to a screen where it says "turn the printer power on and off" and "Power switch of the device" and all the buttons/LED flash.

You cannot print, scan, enter menue or anything.

restart, turn off, unplug the power outlet, does not help.

I'd be happy to get a tip.

  • HP Officejet 6500 a Plus e-All-in-One - E710n ' slow printing - cannot scan.

    Windows 7 64

    HP Officejet 6500 a Plus e-All-in-One - E710n

    Wireless connection

Until recently, I noticed that it takes a good 45-60 seconds to print. From the moment that I hit print say at the start of the printing printer. Real bummer, but today I tried to scan and got an error "Scanner communication cannot be established... "I've uninstalled all the drivers and the printer and reinstalled same thing any suggestions I have to be able to scan.

    Hey alsmith1964,

It seems that the network communication between the PC and the printer has become lost or locked up.  The first step, I would suggest in this case is to perform a cycle of power to all devices in the network circuit.

Follow these steps to reset your printer HP, your router and your computer.

    1. To turn it off, press the power button on the HP printer.
    2. Unplug the power cord at the back of the HP printer.
    3. Unplug the power cord from the wireless router.
    4. Turn off the computer.
    5. Wait 30 seconds.
    6. Reconnect the power cable to the wireless router.
    7. Wait 30 seconds, or until the router is completely ready.
    8. Turn the computer on.
    9. Wait for the computer to recharge.
    10. Reconnect the power cord to the back of the HP printer.
    11. Turn on the printer.

I would like to know if it is able to get the question to be resolved,

    Jason

Win7 x 64 install an Officejet 6500 has MORE. Printer is connected to the wireless very well. Win7 x 64 computer can ping and see the printer on the network.

Get a message error everytime I try to print saying: "it cannot connect to the printer.

Same computer can connect to the printer and to view and modify settings wireless very well.

I guess it's a problem with Win7 x 64. I need to fix this before to decide to take back to Costco and exchange for the Canon I almost branch instead. HP you have always had driver problems, but still? Really!

Has taken over the crappy HP. Picked up a Canon PIXMA MX882 instead. Impeccable installation, in 10 min I'm printing, scanning, fax wireless with not a single question.

I am VERY disappointed with HP and its incompatibility with Win7 x 64 drivers. Don't advertise your crap software is compatible, when it is not! I lost hours of my personal time, trying to get HP to work then most of time taking the piece of crap back (I really like the hardware of the printer - software "guys really?"). I will never buy another HP printer. And on the Canon Wireless Setup was easier. A button called easy set up on top of the printer and BAM done. * beep * HP, * beep * indeed.

  • OfficeJet 6500 a Plus: printer shows as a fax machine

I unplugged my printer about a month ago and when I rebooted and tried to add a printer, it shows just like a fax machine. I've tried different help topics, nothing seems to work.

    Hi @Swissmizz,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I see that your printer of HP Officejet 6500 a more re-won't add to the Mac as a printer, as a fax machine. I'd be happy to help you and don't forget to come back to this thread and check "Accept as Solution" if I helped successfully will solve you the problem. If you want to say 'Thank you' to my effort to help, click on the "thumbs up" to give me a Kudos.

I understand the frustration you are experiencing. HP doesn't have the full functionality of software and drivers for Mac OS X 10.10. Apple has a software update for the HP Officejet 6500 E710n driver, but it is only the print driver.

That being said. I recommend reset us the printing system and add new printer using the driver update from Apple.

    Reset the printing system:

To begin, I will have you reset the printing system on your Mac. Please click herefor instructions on how to perform the reset. When the site opens, follow the steps under"Reset printing in OS X Lion system" because the steps are the same for Mac OS X 10.10. This Reset deletes each printer on your Mac. However, it does not uninstall printers. Therefore, if use you other printers on the Mac, once the reset is complete simply make sure printers are attached via a USB cable or connected network and (+) add hide them po do not add your HP Officejet in now.

Check and repair your Mac disk permissions:

    1. Open Macintosh HD and go to Applications
    2. Go to the Utilities folder
    3. Open disk utility
    4. Select the hard disk volume, you use (usually on the left)
    5. Select verify disk permissions
    6. Once this process is complete, select repair disk permissions

Once the reset complete, restart the Mac.

Uninstall the drivers and the software (if installed):

Please click here to find out how to properly uninstall your printer. Once the site opens, select the drop-down list 'Mac OS X v10.6, OS X v10.7, OS X v10.8 and OS X v10.9' and follow the steps under two method to complete uninstallation.

Once the uninstall is complete, please continue on.

    Check the Apple updates:

    1. Go to the Apple
    2. Select System Preferences
    3. Select software update
    4. Click update now
    5. Install your available updates
    6. Computer restart

    Add device:

    1. click on the menu of Apple , then Preferences System.

    2. click on Print & Scan and then check if the name of your printer appears in the printer list.

    3. click on the name of your printer, click the sign minus (), then remove the printer.

    4. click on the plus sign (), click Add a printer or a Scanner, click the name of your printer.

    5. click on the area of use or with the help of Print and then select the name of your printer on the shortcut menu. Ensure that the Officejet driver is selected.

    6. click Add to add the printer to the list. Do not add the AirPrint driver.

    7. try to print again.

  • OfficeJet 6500 E709n: Cannot print after upgrading Windows 10

Cannot print. "Doctor print" said there is a software problem.

Uninstalled the drivers and reinstalled the software complete... twice.

Capable of printing in color "internal" wireless test page but cannot print a doc and it does not show in the Panel "see what's printing.

Uninstalled all printers if none showed, in the Panel. When the software has been reinstalled, it showed two Officejet 6500 s on the control panel.

I tried the post install 'Print sample' with each check printer default and no work.

Seems that the problem started when I "upgraded" to the new Windows 10.

    Kili2 wrote:

    Hi Kili2,

Try to install your printer via "Open network" - via the window icon or desktop to explore - and choose 'Add devices and printers' (you may need to click the arrow next to the question mark for the top menu show).
Let the wizard to search for awhile, selcect your printing device, and click 'next'.

After you follow these steps, search for the new installed printer (the name is shown in network for printer and scanner) in "Printers and devices" in the control panel.
Use this printer as the default printer and you should be able to print over the network cable or wireless.

  • HP printer Officejet 6500 a Plus

I bought a new printer and want to get rid of my old printer (HP Officejet 6500 a Plus).  My question is: is there any reader of memory in the printer I'm tossing or is it just just to throw it away?

    Hello

Thank you for using the HP forum.

You can restore the default printer.

Theres no hard drive on the PC but if you don't save any number of fax on this subject, you may want to delete that.

Usually, we cut the strip of coding, break the glass of the scanner and cut other visible wires before disposing of it so that the printer is "beyond economic repair" for anyone who can pick it up.

    Hope that helps.

    A few ideas

If you have not done for awhile, you may download and install a new copy of the software full functionality.  Reference: install the full features software - printer

If the printer is located where you can do so, you could try a wired connection to the router.

You could try the printer of the assign a static IP address.

Make sure that there is at least 1 meter / 3 feet between the printer and all wireless devices you want to connect.  Too much is as bad as too far away...

Paw through all ideas / suggestions / information in the exceptional User Guide of this printer - network setup Section starting on Page 222.

Try to use as not only a static IP address, but also a hard to connect to your ISP DNS information.

Mount the power wireless on your receiving devices (PC)
