Iconia A510 DEAD after charger broken

Hi all.

I have an Olympic Iconia A510 edition.

When he was only about 2 months, my daughter was then that plugged into the charger, unfortunately she forgot it was plugged in and walked away with the tablet in his hand, he yanked the cable out of the Tablet, but at the same time he broke the wire.

I tried several different replacement cables / Chargers but nothing worked like the iconia requires a specific charger Acer, so I put it in the closet and left for a year, naturally the battery is deader of dead after one year in the closet.

A few weeks ago, I "found" and decided that I would use it buy the correct charger for acer store at a price significantly exaggerated :-(

BUT it seems that there is still a problem as the new charger does nothing? Power / light of load does not illuminate and the Tablet is completely dead.

The port of loading on the Tablet is not loose or damaged in any way, and the cable plugs safe.

Am I missing something?

I vaguely remember reading somewhere that if the battery dies completely that it causes a problem with throw an accusation? or I guess I read that?

Any ideas?

It would be likely that the port of loading is damaged when the cable was torn off and is it easy to repair / replace.

Then.

Stripped in the hope of finding that the port of loading was damaged inside... everything seems fine, no obvious damage from tearing the cable? nothing of another coward, break etc...  It seems that its bricks.

Time to throw it in the bin I think and buy an ipad!

  • Satellite L670 - hard drive dead after only 8 months

    Hello

This morning I return my laptop due to defective hard drive problem. After 8 months, he is already dead.

The positives are: I'm still under warranty and the second the software toshiba hilighted me from time to time, allowing me to back up my data before the crash. TKS Toshiba for this very useful tool.

The question is: how a hard drive die that fast after fews month only?

Bad luck or bad use? I wonder.

I wish to have feedback from those L670 who owns the same model (windows 7), to understand if this problem is common or if I was unfortunately concerned.

Also, if there are possible solutions to avoid the stress of the HD for daily use? As for example, reduce writing on this subject (save blu - ray using AnyDvD HD on hd, then cut & paste for external hard drive), or connect too often external hard drive in order to avoid the extra electricity if necessary?

In the future, I have to perform chkdsk more often? Defrag? If Yes, how often?

This is my 3rd phone dying, Sony VAIO = mothercard dead after 1.2 years, Fujitsu Amilo xi = exploded after 3 years and now Toshiba HD after 8 months.

900EUR up to 1600EUR, I do not see significant resistance of one of these models, Sony was the badest ever in terms of longevity of the video card and compatibility (unplayable games after 2 months, no update of the driver), keyboard 'paint' was a mess with deterioration after fews month compared to Fujitsu and Toshiba (no points). Toshiba L670 most recent, was the best in terms of game compatibility.

What should do? Stop buying the laptop or use only fews hours a day with a PC on top?
For time beeing I can't afford to have a PC + a computer laptop that I'm unemployed, surviving with 10EUR per day.
time to find a new job.

Despite this, I managed to buy the new book of the cooler Zelman for my Toshiba 40/50EUR all about, but it did not help apparently.

TKS for your comments about life duration L670 and particularly problem HD + best use to protect it.

In my opinion the answer is clear: no chance.

In any case, don t think too much on the use of the laptop. Cell phone is designed to operate for a long period, then there is no reason to reduce the time to use on your Toshi.
I use my laptop to work on a daily basis and it works at least 10 hours a day, sometimes one night too many.
Just be careful that your laptop is placed on the desktop, the cooling fans must not be blocked by what it is.

Hello, has the Acer Iconia A510 and A700 completed official software support? We will receive 4.2, because soon Google will announce 4.4 and we are stuck on 4.1.2 and I don't think that 4.1 is the limit to our material?

I see that your message has been changed by a moderator of Acer named Elizabeth.

In looking at some of the posts by Elizabeth, it seems that this person may well work for Acer.

If this is the case, this means that Acer knows about this thread and I guess, others along the same vein, but choose to ignore us. I'm starting to feel that Acer think "their money back then support a symbolic", such as this forum, which gives the impression that Acer cares... Humbug!

  • Satellite L350-171 dead after 2 weeks

    Hi all

I bought a Satellite L350-171 2 weeks of Tesco Direct. Went to the Toshiba brand because of rumors of reliability. A few days before, the computer could not turn on. Tried unplugging the charger/etc, but no joy. Called Support technique of Toshiba who said it looks like a hardware failure. No lights on the front - normally a yellow light indicates when the charger is connected. The charger is off 19V so I'm sure that's not the issue.

The last thing that happened was a Windows update that requires a restart, but there is no way a software problem will result in the hardware failure.

Toshiba suggested I ask Tesco for a replacement as it is less than 28 days old (which I did!). My questions are:

    (1) what type of hardware failure can cause the cell go dead without showing any sign of death?
    (2) the Satellite L350 series there the problems known - this happen with my replacement?
    (3) I am wrong to believe in the reliability of Toshiba?
    (4) anyone suggest some things I can try to bring back to life?

    Thank you

I'm sorry to hear you have such a problem with your laptop. my brother has had similar problem and ASP has set in only 5 days. Now he's happy again with its A300 Satellite again.

    (1) what's happening with your laptop? It is not easy to say what was wrong there and we can only speculate on this but I think that the ESF may be responsible for this. Faulty electronic board I assume.
    (2) this can happen with all computer laptop and we cannot say that this can happen on Satellite L350 only. If you want you can check out this forum and see what write other people on L350.
    (3) this problem can happen with 1,000 other products too. If you buy a Ferrari and gearbox is defective after only 100 km would you buy Ferrari again? I think you're going to do this. ;)
    (4) according to me, there is nothing you can do. Try to get the replacement.

    Good luck!

  • Z10 blackBerry dead after only 5 hours battery

I don't want happened to my Z10, but after only 5 hours and no use a fully charged battery is dead. I bought a new battery but no change. I wish there was an option to completely reinstall the operating system. I have installed all apps

Always start with a battery pull when something goes wrong with your phone.  There could be something in the operating system that is not aware and a battery pull will often correct this.  To make a correct battery pull, remove the battery while your phone is on, then replace it.

    I hope that helps you.

  • WT8-B-102 does not start even after charging

I recently bought a Toshiba WT8-B-102, and I have some problems with it.

First of all, I couldn't install the update to the BIOS for a reason, but this isn't a huge problem for the work of the Tablet very well

but now I can't start it over. yesterday, I had the same problem, the tab left alone for a while (on the charger) and after that there no start/start. half an hour later, I tried again (after taking the charger) and then he started, but today it won't start at all. Even if I load for a few hours, then try again, try to start charging, etc. It's not good right?

I don't see that some led light or any other sign when I attach it to the charger. Any help or ideas guys?

    Thank you

Probably the battery is totally discharged.
In this case, you need to charge the battery by connecting the power adapter for 30 minutes before turning the power on

Yet WT8 and Encore WT10 won't turn on after some time of no use
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/TSB4903N80001R01.htm

If this will not help, the device must be checked for possible hardware problems.

  • MS 2100 "dead" after the restart - only 2 lights "

I rebooted my Satellite Pro 2100 and waited for it to power upward again. But it does not. It is fairly new, 1 year old. I pressed the button, but the machine stays dead. The more good led-light will turn on for a second and then turns off again. No sound from HD, no fan noise, nothing.

I read in the forums on usenet that there might be something to do with the battery charging too long. But if it's real: the laptop must be able to operate without a battery for a power adapter? Or am I wrong?

Thanks in advance for your answer!

    Hello
you absolute correct! The laptop should run just with adapter connected.

You can just test one thing.

Remove the main battery and the AC adapter.
Wait a minute just reconnect the adapter to the laptop and try to turn on the machine.

    The problem persists?

As you said the laptop is just over a year, and if the problem persists, try the best way for this problem is to give the laptop from Toshiba Service centre for a check.

    Good bye

  • Satellite A300 - pad touch dead after update BIOS 2.20

    Hello

exact model is Satellite A300 PSAGCA-06M01N under Win XP.

I had a problem with the webcam, and I read in the forum that it can be solved by a BIOS update. so, I advanced and downloaded the latest version of the BIOS on the site of toshiba, especially for my laptop model. It went quite well with no error.

However when the computer restarts after that the BIOS updated my touchpad no longer works.
I went to Device Manager and could still see the Synaptics touchpad device and it says "this device is functioning correctly. but its completely dead and will not respond with the 2 keys. before I updated the BIOS I never had any problems with it.

I tried FN + F9, nothing helps. plugged in a USB mouse and it works without any problem. In fact, when I plugged in the mouse the synaptics software says "Deactivation of the key because of the external pointing device" for the device driver for the touchpad works.

If I remove the mouse, it will say the touchpad is restored, but it still doesn't work. restarted several times and still the same problem. went into BIOS and chose "default" not still a no go.

Can someone offer any advice or ideas please?
I really need the touchpad for the way I use the laptop...

    Hello

In many cases, the touchpad (pointing device) can be enabled and disabled in the BIOS.
I think you should check if this option is available in BIOS and if so, check whether it should be enabled.

  • HIS 60 dead after trying to update BIOS

Since we bought the machine we had problems with the graphics card when the machine goes to sleep (returns with a low resolution). I checked this forum and found messages recommending to try a bios update. I tried this (using the correct update) and the machine just hung when it ran saying preparing the bios update.

After about an hour, nothing happened and the machine was just hanging - everything we could do was to removed the battery. Now, it is quite dead, and it's not even a power led. We tried to remove the battery, double checked the connection to the sector and he died. Help appreciated - it is a big problem for us.

    Hi Adrien,.

It seems that if the main Board may have failed in your laptop. I recommend contacting a center of Service Toshiba.

    Kind regards

  • NB200: 92-95% after charging battery

The laptop has only 92 ~ 95% battery after a fully charged (about 8 hours before).

Is this normal or something wrong with the battery?

(I have an another toshiba L40, not such a problem).

    Hey

I completely agree with Akuma. I noticed on my laptop and after turning off these features, the battery doesn't fall so much more. :)

I'm very happy because I t need these features, but I can save battery power.

  • Equium - dead after hibernation, the system recovery does not work

    Hello
I'm trying to fix the laptop of one of my friends, but so far without success. It's a Toshiba Satellite with Vista.

She had problems with a black screen after startup in Windows Vista. I found a work around for this problem, but it was a little complicated for her... She doesn't know much about computers. ;)
So I but it would be a good idea to tell him to always use hibernation. However, when I put the portable standby extended, all seemed fine, shutdown, power off.
I tried and then turn it back on. Light turns green, cd drive makes noises. Nothing more. Screen remains completely black. No sounds. Keyboard input does not work. No access to the Manager startup or anything else. He left light until I pass him by pressing the button for a few seconds.
I removed the battery and put back in place, without result.
Connection to an external monitor shows no results.
When I put the original CD recovery Toshiba, no results.

So, basically a cell phone dead. Ah yes, I'm in the Brazil in a small village, away from the stores of tech support or computer. Maybe a problem material, but all was working fine until I used the hibernation.

Any help or ideas would be very appreciated! ;)
    Daniel

    Hello

My laptop could not wake up after hibernation too but I managed to wake up again.
    This;
Disconnect the power adapter and remove the battery.
Now, you will have to wait a while 1 hour should be sufficient, but you can leave the laptop disconnected for a longer time (all night long)

After that, you must connect the battery and AC adapter and should try to light the device if it will not help you then you are in trouble
This would mean that a serious hardware problem causing this problem and I doubt you could remedy without any help from the ASP.

  • Satellite L630 dead after BIOS update

    Hello

I have a problem with a Toshiba Satellite L630 laptop model PSK00E-017019EN (British model).

An analysis of software Toshiba recommends an update of the BIOS and that I had a few problems with the laptop, I decided to let it run... big mistake!

The laptop will now not enter bios is effectively dead.

I downloaded different versions of the crisis Phoenix Recovery Disk (that will build a bootable USB key with MINIDOS. SYS, PHLASH16. EXE and a generic BIOS. WPH) and have also downloaded the latest version of the BIOS on the toshiba site.

The downloaded BIOS Toshiba is an exe SL630_L635_WIN_B140.exe file that will extract the following files using WINRAR (I tried also pick up the files in %Temp%, after you run the exe with the same result).

The files that I get are:

    BB10140. FD (4170kb)

    Ding.wav (104 KB)

    InsydeFlash.exe (764 KB)

    iscflash.dll (1760 KB)

    iscflash.sys (14 KB)

    iscflashx64.sys (23 KB)

    and platform.ini (9kb)

I expect to see the real bios in the form xxxx.rom or xxxx. WPH so that I could add this to the bootable flash drive to reflash the bios.

So my real question, can someone direct me to where I can download the correct BIOS. ROM file for this laptop and also where I can get the right version of the software Phoenix crisis Recovery Disk.

Also could you confirm the correct key sequence to start on crisis Recovery flash drive... I've seen talk of the F and B FN FN (both used without battery and plugging in the adapter, then power button / stop)... the FN routine F seems to start the Flash Player, but obviously without the right file WPH will not solve the problem.

    Thank you

    Phil

To be honest, I don t think that BIOS ROM module needs to be replaced.
In my opinion the ROM module must be flashed again using a special disc of crisis of the BIOS.
I recommend you contact Toshiba service and pay a small fee for the flash ROM module.
It is much better solution to handle the motherboard.

  • Satellite L30 - 11 d - after charging battery, it is said that 8% remaining

    Hello

I have Satellite L30 - 11 d and the battery will be cooler. Laptop works when the power adapter is connected. When the AC adapter is plugged in the battery icon seems to be charged and the led will turn orange and green then as if the laptop has finished loading.
However once the AC adapter is removed he says only 8% remaining and will stop in 5 minutes.

I just bought a new AC adapter, and I updated my BIOS. Very confused on how to solve this problem, any advice will be very useful.

    Thank you

    Hi TL30,.

In my view, this problem is only related to the battery and it should be replaced. A block can only be recharged about 500 times and after that, replace it because it can t be charged to 100% more.
It has nothing to do with the adapter BIOS or sector

Contact a service provider allowed in your country, or you are looking for online shops where you can buy a compatible battery. On your current battery, you will find a part number where you can ask Google to do this.
