  Just as you describe. One is the local copy and the other is the a synchronization with your PC.

  If you want, you can clear the local contacts by going to settings > accounts. Press the three points at the bottom right and click clear local contacts.

  With respect to Notifications: I put on phone calls - so phone calls with the sound, I put all my msgs (text, email, bbm) on the silence with LED lights up, but LED does not function in this mode!

  Hello once again update latest for my Q-10 a lot (not all) of my contacts somehow becomes associated.  For example.  When I text my wife and she says it is as if its someone else.

  Help help. I. just obtain general answers unless the person taking in my previous actions. I transferred my business contacts in groups, so I could send texts once a month to them. Once they were all in groups he me literally 5 minutes to send the info to everyone. I understand that the new q10 has no groups, but there must surely be a quicker way or the replacement of the transmission of texts on this phone without having to take hours clicking between the contacts and the message. I can't find anything in the manual either. It's driving me crazy!

• BlackBerry Q10 hard to restore the data of my bold 9900 at my new Q10.

  If im having real problems with that. I live in Sweden and... blackberry is not really appreciated here, but I LOVE the phone and how it works. I think this is my 5th model! (curved, 2 put in bold, tourch and now Q10)

  My "BOLD" 9900 stopt working mysteriously this morning and I got a hold of a Q10. The problem is that my "BOLD" (and all previous models, I had before) work with 'Bb Desktop'. Q10 asked me to download link "bb".

  To add to the problem, my "BOLD" went on a rant and blow instead of "Troubleshooting" as I expected, he did a factory reset.

  Now, I have a wiper on "BOLD" and a Q10 who used to restore data "BOLD" for the new Q10.

  I can see several files on my computer (macbook pro) where all the previous backups are; but the bb link will not let me restore files? !!!

  I'm lost here seriously. Would appreciate ANY help.

  "BOLD" data backup will not restore a device as the Q10 BB10. There are methods to transfer data, but still need the device contain the data :

  What I would do is to restore a backup on the "BOLD" and then follow the instructions in the KB that I posted above to transfer the data to the Q10.

  1. Yes, the blackberry.net email is no longer available... and quite honestly, in my opinion, it's a good thing. Blackberry.net email is not available elsewhere ON your BlackBerry, you can view it on the handheld device itself and no backup otherwise. Get a free gmail, yahoo or Outlook.com account.

  Below the instructions on how you can transfer data from the Curve 8530 to the new Q10 use BlackBerry link.

  Note: This method requires a PC or a Mac with BlackBerry installed link.

  * BlackBerry link only supports the Tablet BlackBerry PlayBook and smartphones BlackBerry 10, with the exception of the migration of initial data of a BlackBerry smartphone running BlackBerry Device Software 5.0 or BlackBerry 6 to 7.1 for the smartphone BlackBerry 10.
  * BlackBerry Link is available from www.blackberry.com/blackberrylink and is able to operate simultaneously with BlackBerry Desktop Software for easy migration to BlackBerry 10.
  * 10 blackBerry Smartphones will offer an option for auto-install of BlackBerry connection when it is connected to a computer (Mac and Windows)

  Before using BlackBerry link for the migration, make sure that:

  I finally had some success.

  Connect old "BOLD" to the PC via USB port.  Open BB Desktop software.  Connect new Q10 for PC.  Open the BB link.  Follow the instructions on the link to BB.

  My experience with my new Q10 is now measured in days, not hours...  (1.25 days to be exact).

  Anyway, I am trying to get a handle on how this unit handles my Telus email accounts.  I use two accounts - we'll call them [email protected] and [email protected].  On my old curve these e-mail accounts have been configured so that when a STAFF message has been deleted it has also been deleted from the server, however when a message from the FAMILY has been removed it is stayed on the server to be removed when the family PC was then introduced on the market.  These settings for each account are setup at http://telus.blackberry.com.

  Now, I'm not a network guru and admit not knowing my IMAPs my orbits so I don't really understand how the new BB10 is different from the curve when it comes to managing these e-mail accounts.  Can someone explain it to me in a few sentences?  Thank you.

  Then, why is there such a delay in the transmission of the Q10 using these accounts.  Sometimes an outgoing message is located in the hub with a small gray clock next to her for an hour, then without warning the clock becomes a check mark.  Is there a way to send immediately?  I feel that this is part of how BB10 handles differently the e-mail accounts...   At the time of send messages, I have enough information to answer.
  You can send yourself an e-mail from Q10 and then on your desktop e-mail software, display the message. Somewhere, there is an option to view the entire email, including the complex message headers. These headers contain valuable information, regarding all the path taken by your email to go from your Q10 for servers of different e-mail and the last mail server to your desktop software.
  If you manage to read (basically, there are several lines "receipt for xxx at the moment", and looking at the date and time tags, you can see how long the e-mail was parked on each server.

  solution. I couldn't have two devices connected at the same time to change terminal on BBLink (BBLink was grateful Q10 as the downgrade instead of the upgrade). I backed up my local Z10 and restored on new Q10. fact. Thank you.

• BlackBerry Q10 Blackberry ID/Password/password reset recovery questions

  Picked up new Q10, updated since my "BOLD".  Carrier is MTS in Manitoba.

  Tried to connect with my BlackBerry ID, does not pass.

  Tried password recovery, does not have security issues.

  Have locked my Blackberry ID a few times now several attempts.

  Also tried to re - sign with my current email, which of course he bounced because there is already a Blackberry ID associated with this email.

  Could use an old email for you re - register, but don't really want to lose some of my BBM contacts and have to re-add-the manually from my old phone.

• Q10 blackBerry download full - cannot open the file

  My previous Blackberry Curve 8330 (using version 4.0 of the software), I had an eSecure app that I downloaded from a text message sent to my phone.  With my new Q10, I "ve done to transfer the data from my old phone again, but the apps has not been transferred.  All lists of contacts, emails, etc. worked well.

  I logged on the site where I can go to request a new message text for the app, but the OS Q10 is not an option, the highest available Blackberry version is 7.0.  When I select 7.0 and receive this new text message on my phone, I open it and the link download, but when I click on the downloaded file I get a popup message that says: "Cannot open the file."

  Applications BlackBerry OS7 (and OS4) do not work on OS10. OS7 (and the previous operating system) is based on Java, OS10 is completely different (QNX based). So if the seller does not level its app to OS10, there is nothing you can do.

  Recently, I've had my Blackberry "BOLD" stolen so I said 'no problem, Blackberry protect will take care of all my stuff. "Sound in the cloud." But today, when I got the blackberry protect recovery in my brand new Q10 I realized that I don't have that 31 contact now! Almost all my contacts are GONE! Anyone know what could have happened with the rest of my contacts? I do not understand how the Blackberry protect weekly backups I had put up only ended up saving a small part of my contact list. According to the Blacberry protect the site, the last backup was August 5, 2014. My cell phone was stolen on 12 August, the backup should be updated. But it's not. Is there a problem with Blackberry protect migrate Blackberry 7-10 of Blackberry? No indication as to what is happening with my contacts is greatly appreciated.

  Hello there, 31 contacts most likely are from a very old backup, and all your contacts are now synchronized wirelessly with your email. Which is why you don't have them in a BlackBerry protects back upward.
  Haven't you set up your email yet? What are the prospects it, Gmail?
