IVX export to VMWARE or VirtualBox

Is there a way to export a record IVX VMWare or VirtualBOX?

Hello darkmac,.

It seems that the image must be converted to .raw format in one as vmdk:
http://StackOverflow.com/questions/454899/how-to-convert-flat-raw-disk-image-to-VMDK-for-VirtualBox-...

QEMU is a Linux utility that allows to manage the conversion:

I have a client who wants to copy on an ESX host 3.5 existing out of our data center and use it as a test running server in its server system 2.0 VMware to the internal address. Can I export on the VMDK using SCP and then give it on a USB? If so, how I do, never had to export outside the Virtual Center environment before.

Use VMware vCenter Converter or version independent and free to export the comments of ESX. It will make the necessary conversions for you.

  • Dual boot + virtual box or vmware

I bought a new laptop with windows 7 Home premium.  I already got the dual-boot (despite the difficulties of the uEFI) with linux.
What I want to do, comes from another partition (windows or linux regardless of the i begin) to be able to run the other inside the virtual machine.
Both can start natively, but reboot can be sometimes annoying.  I know I can run linux with hardware acceleration (3d support and all) of my windows partition using the virtual machine;  But if I boot in linux (and this isn't a request on how to configure vmware or virtualbox, I'll figure that part out and you downloaded the documentation) windows 7 will throw a tantrum if it detects hardware vmware/virtualbox instead of normal material its expected?

more precisely, whenever I have Exchange using windows 7 in virtualbox/vmware, to start in native mode, or vice versa, is there a need to call and explain to someone per square metre that my copy of windows is legitimate?
(with windows xp, I think it would have been possible to use hardware profiles so I could boot natively virtually without m$ with a problem, but this feature seems to have been deleted.)

my heart is not on assistance from vmware or virtual box, I have both and am willing to try a third option if recommended.  I just want to be able to start practically and start the same windows partition natively without having to call and activate on a regular basis.

  • VMware Workstation 7.1 extremely slow start WinXP32 comments

The problem is that the guest OS starts very slowly.  From the moment the power on button is pressed when it goes to windows

Office and all the tray icons loaded, it takes 4 minutes.  While in the comments, things very slow feeling, menus and windows takes a long time to open up, buttons respond slowly, etc.  The system is unable to use interactively.

Exactly the same configuration on VirtualBox starts in 35 seconds.  The virtual VMware and Virtualbox machine is on the same disk hard drive as the bottleneck, which eliminates.

  • Cannot export the patches downloaded by UMDS (v4.1)

    I've been looking at using UMD to download patches on a shared repository, but I fight with the step where the patches downloaded are exported. On a freshly built Windows 2003 server, I installed fine UMDS, download patches (using Vmware-UMD-D) has worked well, but when I try to export using 'vmware-UMD-E-export-store d:\ ". " (where the drive d:\ is where I want the patches export) I get the following error;

The version1.txt file exists in the root of the repository patch, like the file version.txt (as well as the directories hostupdate, metadata, and vm-patches).  It may not be an incompatibility of versions with Update Manager as I have not yet tried to configure to see the shared repository and yet, I am simply configuration UMDS himself. I have also tried to move the patch repository (using vmware-UMD--set-config--patch-magasin E:\) which moves OK but does not solve my problem. In looking at downloadConfig.xml the patch repository location is correct (E: /).

Someone at - he saw this before or know what to try as a fix?

  • Export the VM of ESXi to 'not connected' ESXi Server using converter

    Hi all

Sorry for the newbie question - I've seen a lot of messages about the export of a machine virtual workstation or player, etc, but I couldn't find one for my purpose.

We need to export a virtual machine that was created on a server ESXi Server ESXi in another place that has no network connectivity between them using the converter v 4.01 Standalone (?). The idea is the following: export image, copy the files on USB key, send to a remote site, they will import image on their server ESXi (same version).

What is the best way for me to do using the converter?  I thought that I could simply select the VMWare Infrastructure Server as a destination, but that seems to be an option only if you have the remote a plugged into the network.

Does anyone have suggestions as to the export type that may possibly be more coherent than the others? That is to say; export as "vmware workstation or another vmware virtual machine" say vs "virtual appliance"?  Are just as reliable a prospect of import export and then?

    Thanks in advance!

    D

If the two ESXi is the same version that you can do is go to the browser data store and download all the VMS in the USB drive and then go to Site 2 and upload is via the browser of data store. Browser for the .vmx and save the virtual machine.

If you still want to use vmware converter to format of workstation converter so that the destination can be selected as USB key, then a workstation to vmware infrastructure in Site 2.

  • Can EBS in the interface of the LMOS with second LMOS Server or VMware Server?

PL. Let me know which possible those:

    1. portable Win7-> install VMware/VirtualBox-> install a Server LMOS with EBS & CCRG and other LMOS GRCM & GRCI server. Can they work in sych between them (send/receive/communicate etc as modules within a suite of ebs)?

    2. portable Win7-> install VMware/VirtualBox-> install an LMO with EBS & CCRG 64-bit server and the other server LMOS GRCM & GRCI (all 32 bit). Can they work in sych between them (send/receive/communicate etc as modules within a suite of ebs.. 64 and 32-bit)?

And no I will always use a single physical computer. And if I'm running CCRG and he needs no GRCM or ebs data, it should be available (as it would be if I had two physical computers/servers for EGRCC/EBS & EGRCM interconnected).

You should be able to connect between the virtual machines.

    (1) pl. so recheck the sequence and let me know how to go on this subject without losing win7.

As long as you don't use Oracle VM, you should be fine.

    (2) 2 Oracle VM servers can run in the same VMware or Virtual box?
(for example with EGRCC/EBS & other with EGRCM)

You are not clear about that, if you use 2 different machines to VMWare or VirtualBox, then you should be fine.

    (3) in case (2) above is not possible can I have 2 VirtualBoxes on/in the same physical machine running win7?
(Two VirtualBox/VMwares-VirtualBox/VMware No. 1 running Oracle VM Server with EBS/EGRCC & VirtualBox No. 2 running EGRCM).

    Yes.

    Thank you

  • maximum starting Manager partitions

Right now, I have 2 primary partition on a 1.5 TB harddrive, running in dual boot win 7 & 8. (do not know if I like 8)

I have the old software that runs only under win 98. It does not work on xp or 7.
The execution of 98 in a virtual window is require a lot of resources.
I was wondering IF , I have a 3 TB hard drive, is it possible, using the Manager startup to install win 7, 8, 98 & XP in 4 primary partitions (1 TB, 1 TB, 500 MB, 500 MB)? I'll be able to choose which operating system to start?
ALSO, is there a simple way to copy my current win 7 & 8 partitions to a new bigger partition on a new hard drive? It's time to do a clean install.
Is it possible to export my virtual win 98 on the new partition (thinking as ISO)? I do a clean install of my old software?
Win xp is for some old games I've had since the 1990s that I would play again. they do not run under win 7.

Yes you can. As you use as multiboot Windows 7 and Windows 8, you can go for the installation of the hard disk on Windows XP and Windows 98 virtual, if (as per the link provided by Mahesh Kumar a. ) compatibility mode fails to solve the problem.

Initialization of the virtual hard disk, you must have Windows 7 Ultimate (or Premium) or Windows 8 Pro (or company). You can follow the links for more information:

    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/charles_sterling/archive/2012/08/18/worlds-easiest-boot-to-VHD-directions-for-Windows-8.aspx
Note: If you plan to install Windows 98 and Windows XP VHD, please create the VHD file as mentioned in the above links and get the file to an app to virtualize as Hyper-V (in Windows 8 Pro) or VMware or Virtualbox to install Windows 98 and Windows XP. Once the installation process ends and requires a reboot (the process that rest will create user account), stop the virtual machine and attach the virtual hard disk file to as Boot Manager. Once done, restart the physical PC and select Windows 98 or Windows XP from the boot menu and perform the final steps of the installation.
If you run the installer directly, it will damage the 7/8 existing Windows Boot Manager, which will require the (reconstruction of the Boot Manager) Startup Repair running using a Windows installation disc 7/8.
  • To trust Windows?

I was counting on the download of Windows on my Mac in parallels so down, I can load some games that are not available on OS X, so I was wondering if I should trust in parallels? Has anyone downloaded them?

Parallels is probably one of the best applications of virtualization for Mac, so it's OK to use it. You should also consider merger of VMware or VirtualBox (it's free).

However, if you want to use Windows to play games, I suggest you to install Windows using Boot Camp instead. Boot Camp lets you install Windows on a separate partition, so your Mac works like any other PC then you are under Windows, and you will get the best possible performance. Take a look-> How to install Windows using Boot Camp - Apple Support

  • Why my iMac (27 inch, mid 2011) cannot run Windows 10 in boot camp? And if he can't, he would work in something like parallels?

Why my iMac (27 inch, mid 2011) cannot run Windows 10 in boot camp? And if he can't, he would work in something like parallels?

To be honest, Windows 10 is compatible with your Mac, but Apple does not release from Windows 10 drivers for it. There are various guides on the Internet to install the drivers for Boot Camp Windows 10 even if your Mac is not supported, but follow them at your own risk (don't forget that you won't receive help to make).

However, you are free to run Windows 10 on a virtual machine. To do this, you can use Parallels, VMware or VirtualBox, but remember that a virtual machine will give you less performance than Windows natively on your iMac. Read-> Windows in BootCamp or Virtual Machine?

  • Dual Boot windows Linux 8.1 on Pavilion 17-e157eo

Will there be a completely safe way for a dual-boot Windows 8.1 and Linux on a Pavilion 17-e157eo?

I searched the dualboot topics, but solutions do not seem to apply in this case.  Secure boot has been disabled. Quick start has been disabled. In this PC disk partitions are not dynamic but simple.

Starting from a Live Linux DVD results in a blank screen even if the DVD player is clearly read something.  Is the problem due to the fact that this PC has the INTEL 4600 graphics chip and an AMD Radeon 8670 M?

A better solution would be to use VMware or VirtualBox, set up a Linux guest operating system, the host system is of course Windows 8.1?

No problem, glad I could help. If you could mark one of my posts with an acceptable Solution and congratulations if this information was useful, it would be much appreciated and it would be useful to other institutions. Thank you and have a great day!

  • Windows in a virtual machine

    Hello

My X200s new comes with preloaded Vista Business and 3 CD marked as "Rescue and recovery disk for Windows XP" and "Windows XP Professional SP2 product recovery disc 1 & 2", respectively. " I want to repartition the disk, remove Vista in the process, install linux Ubuntu 64-bit, and then install Windows XP in a virtual VMware or VirtualBox machine. The question is, are provided enough CD do a XP install in a virtual machine?

    Thanks for the tips.

    Jakub

No, you can not install XP on a virtual machine with the CD restore provided with your device. You will need a regular XP installation cd and a number of key valid. It has to do with the fact that the restore cd should see a BIOS generic virtual machine rather than the true BIOS Lenovo and refuse to install.

  • Versions of windows

I intend to move to Windows7, but check with the companies of programs I have they tell me the programs that I have (is currently working with Windows XP) do not work with Windows7... They suggest keeping a computer with Windows XP to run these programs... Is to make the two versions of Windows from the same computer

You can dual-boot or you can run XP in a virtual machine. Maybe Windows 7 with XP Mode might work for you. To dual-boot, make sure that the computer you buy supports XP and has drivers for their hardware. Virtualization is idea for non - 3D applications. Since you don't mention what programs you use, you must check with their tech support to ensure that these programs will be running in a virtual machine. Also please note that, if you can run a software virtualization (MS Virtual PC, VMware Workstation, VirtualBox) on Windows 7, XP Mode specialized needs of material specific to the function.

Contains information on the question of whether you need and can run in XP Mode:

Please ignore these messages of my friends. I found the answer elsewhere.
Virtual PC does not support 64-bit clients.
    I need to be

    VmWare
    or
    VirtualBox
