Keyboard doesn't work on ESXi 5 host

I am very new to the family of VMware, but I have a problem I hope you can help with.  I bought a Dell T410 server to use as a test host VMware.  I have several virtual machines on it.  However, all of a sudden, the keyboard has stopped working once the kernal load.  Everything works fine in the bios, and if I use a bootable operating system, it works fine as well.  I tried all the usual steps - different keyboard, another USB port...  Help!

Thank you

Brian

Had the same problem on a server Dell T710 with ESXi 5.0, but after 4 hours of troubleshooting, lots of coffee and found this solution!

I turn on all the USB ports on my computer to USB-passthou. It seams that vmware it just maps up to your guest and no other usbport are available on the console. Just uncheck some in vSphere Client and rebooted the host port. Simple and logical reason...

  • Belkin YourType wireless keyboard doesn't work does not correctly

    Hi guys

I bought my pad paired Belkin Bluetooth in an Apple store, more than two years ago and once I got it, it worked exactly what I needed to enable keyboard shortcuts in Steinberg Cubase, DAW software. Now, I have all sorts of questions. First of all, when I press the buttons as the search for example, key it used to open featured alongside default Mac OSX of CMD + SPACE shortcut. Now, it does nothing except when the Finder Windows is activated it will point to the option to 'find' under the 'View' menu

What I did is non-matched unit of my 2011 iMac 21.5 "and removed battery and reinstalled them. Oddly, if the Mac matches the keyboard to him without needing a key to past or pair? Is there a way I can remove it entirely from the system?

Some please help me out with this keypad please.

    Any help appreciated

Try going to system preferences/Bluetooth and place your cursor on the keyboard input. An X should appear on the right side. Until it clicks.

  • Satellite L300D touchpad and keyboard doesn't work at all

    Hello

This Satellite L300D laptop isn't even a year and it gives me a heck of a lot of questions.

About 3 times a week just touchpad will stop working (after around the crazy stuff & clicking its own)
When I plug in a mouse, it works.

Today the keyboard gave upward, after a re-start, it will allow me to type in my password, but after that its dead.

    Help, please.

    Hello

The laptop is not one that s good year because security must still be valid
For me, it sounds like a hardware problem (problem of keyboard).
But he s strange you can still type a password, however, that he sees as a hardware problem and therefore, you should get in touch with ASP in your country

If the warranty is valid, then everything should be done for free!

  • Magic keyboard doesn't work don't perfectly with Mac-mini mid 2011

I am running the latest version of El Capitan (OS 10.11)

    The system version: OS X 10.11 (15A279b)
    Kernel version: Darwin 15.0.0
    Apple Bluetooth software: 4.4.0f4 16320

These correspond to the requirements of Magic Keyboard (Mac computer compatible Bluetooth with v10.11 OS X or later) according to Apple documentation official http://www.apple.com/shop/product/MLA22LL/A/magic-keyboard-us-english

If I followed the instructions to connect the keyboard up via Thunderbolt, the keyboard works partially. I can type via Bluetooth.

However, I can't use the volume buttons to control the sound. When I try to assign or reassign the buttons, I discovered that I can't 'see' the keyboard in Control Panel.

So, I find it very strange and of course disappointing. I can use Bluetooth, but not make the best use of the characteristics of the material. So sorry to say this, but it feels more like Linux where drivers regularly can make full use of the material and do not like Apple where it should all be integrated from top to bottom.

The ideas or support would be appreciated.

    Ray

PS I have the same problem with the new Magic Trackpad. So it's more than 200 euros for the minimum functions

If I followed the instructions to connect the keyboard up via Thunderbolt,

It be USB to lightning, Thunderbolt.

Check that this block is not checked. You can also try to check it out and then unchecking it.

PS You should also upgrade to the current version of El Capitan, 10.11.2, build 15 c 50. Updates cover a lot of previous bugs and problems. "15A279b" is not the latest version.

during boot, or perhaps in Safe Mode

Assuming that your keyboard works during boot (and it should; trying to tap F8 to access Advanced Boot Options Menu), probably the simplest method would be to make a Hiren Boot CD, boot from it and use one of the many included tools.  I have not experienced with your particular situation, so I can not tell you what tools will be or will work for you, but my guess is that USBDeView might work.

Download and burn (copied from ElderL):

Download the Hiren ISO here (download important enough but worth it).

I like to use ImgBurn to create a bootable ISO CD:

When you install ImgBurn, DO NOT install the Ask Toolbar (ever).

Here are some instructions for ImgBurn:

Thanks for all the help. Seems that there is no easy 'reset' for bad hardware configurations.

However, I dug to the bottom of my Lac 'tech' and found a USB-to-PS/2 adapter, which allowed me to use the USB mouse into the PS/2 port and reactivate my USB ports.

    All is well now.

Thank you all for your answers!

    Hi frankricher,

Thanks for the photo. It seems there may be a problem with the hardware with the backlit keyboard. You can try performing a (Windows 8) HP system recovery to factory settings to see if this fixes the problem.

  • The mouse and the keyboard doesn't work do not after Windows 7 update

I have Windows 7 Home Edition.  My CPU is the last Windows Update during the night, now the keyboard and the mouse do not work.  I rebooted and unplugged both several times.  I go back to my login screen, but I can't do anything from there.

I prsume your keyboard is USB?  If you can find a friend who has an older keyboard with a PS/2 connector, you can try this, F8 again and select last last known good configuration.

There is no updates yesterday in itself, because I have them on my PC (I hate the 2nd Tuesday of the month because I run around the House like a crazy woman by ensuring that 1 Vista 64-bit, 2 Server 2008 R2 64-bit, 2 Windows 7 32 bit and Windows 7 64 bit 4 are all downloading correctly and restart if necessary.) All keyboards and mice are works well here.
