L830 satellite - Fan has collapsed after overheating

Hey,.

So I made a stupid mistake, putting my phone on my bed and for use as 15 minutes, until what it closes due to overheating. Later, I was a little upset about me makes this mistake and waited 10 minutes until I started the pc again (L830 - 13 L). The fan no longer works. I restarted the laptop, waited, and it still doesn't work.

I can't use the laptop for more information, then 10 minutes, when I noticed that its getting really hot, and I have to turn it off and wait until I can use it again, otherwise it could cause more damage to the computer. I am currently not in my country of origin, but in Costa Rica and wrong to spend a year here, then going for a kind of technical support can prove difficult and my knowledge on laptops is not the best either.
I hope someone can give me some advice so that I am able to use my laptop again.

Sincerely,.
AlexanderR

It seems that don t cooling fans work and therefore its internal temperature increases critical level.
But it's hard to tell if the cooling module is damage at the beginning of overheating.
This is probably, and in this case, the module should be replaced by a technician.

On the other hand, you can try this workaround short just to check if the fan is lead on.
Remove the AC adapter
Disconnect the battery
Power button press and hold 30-40 long s
Reconnect the battery and ac adapter.
Turn on the device, press F2 to enter the BIOS
Set the default BIOS and save the changes.
Now reboot once again and check if the cooling modules work

Your laptop supports the Atheros WLan card. Right?
I think that this Atheros WLan card compatible with BT as well. This means that you need to install a special driver that allows to share WLan and BT in a single module.

This driver calls filter for Atheros Bluetooth driver package.
Therefore, install the driver Atheros Wlan, Atheros Bluetooth driver filter and battery Toshiba BT package.

Then BT must be installed correctly and you should be able to activate it in order to start the pairing process.

  • Satellite Pro P200-15W: after Bios Update 1.90 incredibly noisy fan

Hi, I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro P200-15W, I recently made an update to BIOS version 1.9 and seems to have been a big mistake.
After restarting the computer, I had a lot of software deconfig and the fan has become incredibly noisy.

I have the problem with the Toshiba Vista registration software, I get this message: "registration of Vista has stopped working". I read other discussions, I don't want to just disable it in the start.ini file, I would actually solve the problem if there is a way.

Is there a way to change the configuration of fans? I read a post from Toshiba on another model of laptop that has had the same problem of noisy fans after an update of the BIOS, they gave that a solution with a new version of the BIOS, is there a way to reverse the BIOS to the previous version? (recovery CD will be useful for this purpose)?

    See you soon

    Edgard

    Hello

It seems that the picture of the fan was changed and renewed in the new version of BIOS, and so fans run fall.
Why the table fan has been changed?

Well, usually something like this is necessary to improve the reduction of the internal temperature while the CPU and GPU are running with maximum performance.
This helps to prevent the equipment from damage!

Usually, the recovery CD formats the whole HARD drive (partitions too) and installs only the image of Toshiba on the notebooks of HARD drive.
The image contains the OS, drivers and additional software and has nothing to do with the BIOS update.
But you can try to recover the laptop to see if you can solve the problems of software as "Vista record"!

If you want to reverse the BIOS, you will need to contact the ASP in your country!

Sorry, but all I can suggest.

    Best regards

  • Fan has stopped working on the satellite

I've had the laptop for jusy 7 weeks and the fan has stopped working. It always seemed that he ran too to what looks like at full speed almost constantly, but now its stopped.

I just tried to call the helpline and ended up leaving a message to be recalled. They work on Sunday?

How long they tend to take to fix these things?

    Hello

I put t know 100% if they work on Sunday, but I presume that they don t
However, can you please tell what camera do you use?

I can t believe that if fans stopped working then the laptop should automatically stops or the CPU overheats! It is very dangerous because the laptop and the motherboard may cause damage.
So if the fans don't turn you should not turn on the laptop.

But maybe the cooling modules run only with the lower speed?
This is not unusual. The BIOS and the energy-saving control the speed of the CPU and cooling modes. Fans should not run with maximum efficiency if the temperature does not increase.

    > Could it be clogged with dust inside (it is 5 years old)? If yes how I clean. I don't think it's a fan failure because I can hear the fan cut in
I agree with you and the user SambadeAmigo. It seems like a simple problem of overheating and so the laptop automatically stops to prevent the equipment from damage

I assume that your laptop can be enabled again after being allowed to cool. It is a common question if the cooling modules may not work properly because of the dust and debris.
As suggested, it would be possible to remove dust using the can of compressed air.
    It should work.

    Hello

Believe me; It's not easy to say exactly why the BSOD appears.
It usually happens because of a malfunction or severe software hardware fault.
Have you used the operating system of the image of Toshiba?
Message it says something about sysaudio.sys.
This file is a system audio WDM filter processes and it s a part of the Windows operating system. It controls the material such as the printer or the graphics card at a lower level.

Note: The virus uses these files as a camouflage. You should always use an anti virus application.

In addition, you suggested that the laptop stops after 5 min.
Well, this looks like an overheating problem. How did you use the laptop? You know that free space around the laptop is very important due to the circulation of air. Fans should also be free.

I you use Notepad in the right position and it happen, so I recommend asking for help Toshiba service partner. They should check the laptop.

  • Satellite A30 stops due to overheating

My Satellite A30 cutout due to overheating.
The cooling fans are free of dust.
    I put the Max-performance cooling.
Is there another reason of overheating?

    Hi David,

Everything that hinders the free movement of air across the processor HEAT SINK cooling will have the effect you describe. The problem is that dust can not be seen by looking at the fan grids because she has built up inside the unit. The easy way to remove it is to use a vacuum cleaner hose from the cleaner to the grids of aspiration air (using a piece of cloth to maximize suction). This should make the fans running at very high speed and can produce a WAD of debris inside the grids you'll need to choose carefully.

To be really complete, you need to remove the radiator cover (adjacent to the grids of aspiration and locked by two "torx" screws). With the cover removed, you will be able to see the heat sink itself fixed by four Phillips head screws (two on each side), delete them and remove the heat sink. Note that it will stick to the CPU because of thermal paste used during Assembly. DO NOT REMOVE THE DOUGH. Once the heatsink is removed, you will be able to see an accumulation of debris.

Reassembly is the reverse of the uninstall, but note sequence on the heat sink numbers, so that you can tighten the screws in the correct order.

    Kind regards

  • Satellite C55 - Has - 1 L 0 does not start in Windows 8

    Hey guys.
I hope you can help me a bit.
    I have a Toshiba Satellite C55 - has - 1 L 0 here and it does not start in Windows 8.

I turn it on, the Toshiba start screen appears, and then I get a message on a black screen saying "media control" (failure) and after a little while "no boot device. Please restart.

I checked the BiOS and it does not see the hard drive (said HARD drive - no) and even in the boot order list, I don't get a list with the DVD drive with the exact name, but for the HARD drive.
I tried to do a recocery with the F12 key and get the list to choosw where I want to start but by selecting the disk hard does not work.

So I thought I'd try a live distribution of linux to see where is my hard drive and back up my data (after some settings in the BIOS - boot CMS mode) but I can't find there too. (I have a file fstab and mtab, it would help if I posted it here?)
Is my HARD drive broken? Can I try something else?

    Thank you very much!

You are right. This issue should be fixed by the authorized service provider.
Furthermore, why do some risk steps to check this problem, if the warranty is valid.
Warranty will cover the repair costs.

I understand that since you had the laptop he had an overheating problem with a loud fan noise that causes freeze it.

Recently, you have received the message that the CPU fan has stopped working and you couldn't hear the rotation of the fan to the top.

You have removed the fan and checked, but the fan works.  It is possible that the connection was not safe in Notepad.

  • Pavilion g6: fan has stopped working

Well, I posted something here last week, but no answer came.

In the meantime, my laptop fan has completely stopped working. It overheated a few hours and it wound up out there, but now it is cooled, it works again.

I'm afraid that overheating will happen, so I wonder what I can do to make sure that it doesn't happen again.

My laptop has 2.5 years and before the problems with the fan, it worked perfectly fine.

What can I do? My laptop is kind of my everything, at least for my school work.

Thanks for your reply. I wanted to tell the fan, I suppose, made a mistake in translating from Dutch to English.

Anyway, I contacted the Dutch customer service and repair their partner is very likely to replace the fan.

    Thanks anyway

  • System fan failed error after the Swap case

Hi, I read a number of similar positions on this issue but has not managed to solve my particular problem and was hoping someone can provide additional guidance

I recently moved my HP Pavilion Slimline S5280t with a Cooler Master case, everything is OK except that I now get a 'system fan failure, press F2 to continue "message every time I start the PC.

I know for sure, it is caused by the rear 120mm fan that connects to pin 3 connector on the motherboard chassis fan (I tested it with the old 92mm fan and the error message disappeared).  So based on what I read on the forum, the simplest solution is to disable / adjust the configuration in the BIOS to monitor fan, unfortunately, this option is locked to my motherboard (IPIEL-LA3) model.  If at this point, I have 2 questions regarding what I can do next:

    1. I guess the fan sensor detects for the fan RPM so since this is a 120 mm fan, the speed of ROTATION is less than a 92 mm.  It does not reach some predefined threshold and that's why the error message I received.  So I can solve the problem by exchanging the 120mm fan which runs at a higher SPEED?

    2. I read that there is a hidden menu of BIOS with some of the HP PC, accessible by pressing F11 (or some other keys that do not appear in the original start menu), I have tried F11 and which has become a diagnostic tool, does anyone know if a hidden BIOS menu exists for my particular model? (PC model: S5280t, q8300 CPU, Mobo IPIEL-A3)

In addition, I don't think that there is an update of the BIOS for my model either... so I'm really out of options here.  Please help if anyone has any suggestions.

    Thank you!

    HW7777, welcome to the forum.

After consultation on your problem with Erico, another Member of the forum, here's what I was told:

"The three-pin connector for the fan has + (power), mass (-) and an analog tachometer signal." Given that you have tested the old fan on the system fan header and the error message disappeared, you have checked that the fan is indeed the question. You should try another fan to see if it did not have the rear case fan which is connected to the Sys_Fan?  If produce the same results, then you have reason on the down low, the origin of the problem.   If you want to keep the motherboard in the case of Coolermaster then you should consider making or buying an adapter to mount it in her 92 mm fan. Since the Coolermaster case is much larger, you should be able to mount the fan somewhere. There is a lot more air in the Coolermaster case compared to the business slimline the mobo was originally in. "You are right that there is no update available BIOS.
