  I upgraded my 2 computers to 10 Windows over the weekend and since I can't print to one of my printers from my desktop but my laptop is printing OK.  I tried to uninstall and reinstall the printers.  When I install they appear on my network, but when I try to print I get a message that says: it can not print with the current configuration.

  When I try to print a PDF document, I get the error message that "no pages are selected for print.

  Finally, I uninstalled all HP software then reinstalled both of my printers and everything works.

The printer is on the desktop via a usb cable. I deleted the printer drivers and reinstalled and downloaded the software and drivers for the latest printer.  I need help.

  1. go to 'printers '.
  2. click on "add a printer".
  3 Add a local printer.
  4. "create a new Port.
  5. use the "Local Port" option
  6. on "Enter a Port name" enter: "\\Computername\Printername".

  And if all goes well should do!

• Its not sent over the network via the Console remotely?

  When I connect to a Win XP VM via the network by using the Remote Console.  The sounds generated by the VM do not pass to the Remote Console but are heard to the host machine.  Is it possibe to have passed to the computer running the Console sounds remotely?

  As others have said implicitly... the remote console is not the best way to connect remotely to your virtual machines. It is best used only for management purposes.

  The RC is not effective - it uses too much resources on your host - or it has lots of features.

  It is better to use a tool like remote desktop on linux or microsoft using something like freeNX or even VNC flavors.

• OfficeJet 4630 does not print on the network

  My printer print is no longer on a network connection, a USB connection. For example, when I try printer in MS Word, the menu of the printer displays "Unable connect", even though I'm perfectly connected to my printer. I've had this printer for about two months, and it has been the case for at least a month.   First of all, to follow this entire document from HP on "Can't find printer" Error Message appears on the computer for a wireless network Installation. This does not include the software to uninstall/reinstall.

  If you get the same error after following all the steps in this document, please let me know.

  Also, I would like to add a port on your computer to a wireless network:

  (1) go to devices and printers on your computer
  (2) right click on your printer
  (3) select printer properties
  (4) select the ports tab at the top
  5) click on add port, select Standard TCP/IP port, and then select new port
  (6) type your IP address of your printer, click Next, and then finish
  (7) click on apply, then OK
  (8) try to print a document

  The first thing I would do is follow step 6 in this document to set a static IP address: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c02817031
  When it askes for the DNS information, enter in Google DNS. Preferred DNS = DNS Alt = 8.8.4.4 8.8.8.8

  This could increase the stability of the network connection to the printer downstairs.  If this does not help, let me know what OS is on the computer causing problem, because that could cause a problem?  Other than that, you can check the quality of the signal you get form the network and see if this can be a problem.

  You need the Windows7 x 64 drivers for the printer (and perhaps software and fimware) installed on your laptop to be able to print using the printer on another computer if he uses another operating system...  Maybe when you reinstalled you forgot to install these things.  Try this and see if you can then print.

  I have a HP deskjet 656 printer that I added as a network printer. I installed it on my computer laptop windows 7, which went well. However it does not print. The touble shooter printer tells me to 'the printer cannot be contacted over the network. It works from another laptop I have but not my laptop Windows 7.

  I had a similar problem with my new Windows 7 laptop. After a power failure, the laptop would not recognize my HP printer and the error was that "the printer cannot be contacted over the network" so I spent a lot of time to solve the problem. Finally helped the simplest thing was that I removed this printer in my list of printers and added again using the "Add a printer" Wizard and it worked perfectly!
