  I'm ready now. I returned the product to the retailer. Upgrading to a different model, and yes it's an HP. It was a much better option because HP would not have replaced my unit with another unit AGAIN, it would have been updated. I feel like a complete jerk to study does not comment on a product before buying it. HP has a very good line of printers, seems just that this model has had its problems.

  I get the same Scanner Error 22 on the Color Laser Jet Pro MFP M177fw like many others have posted.  Tried uninstalling\reinstalling the software and tried the most common loading drivers but Scanner error prevented this piece of finish.  Support and I was told we would have to pay $49.95 for them to help us solve the problem.  We just bought this printer 5 weeks ago.  Is this all we can try?

  Thank you for your response. This solution does not solve my problem. HP customer service had travelled me several tests (took about 20-25 minutes total) but ended up sending me a replacement printer. It arrived within two days and so far, the replacement works great. HP has also paid to have the original shipped in return. The process was fairly hassle.

• 22 on 1218nfs MFP scanner error

  Under warranty printer (purchased on 8 January 2014).  He started showing 'error Scanner 22' on the screen. Scanner does not, even does not printing several times. Web forums say that the error will once we have unplug the power plug from 30 seconds. No improvement tried repeatedly.

  Please guide if there is no cure. I can't afford to bring the printer to service center. They keep at their end for at least 10 to 12 days, which may seriously affect my work for my small office printing.

  PC - Windows 7 OS on Dell can't get scanner to initialize.  Works very well on the Compaq laptop but not on Dell desktop computer.  When from the icon on the desktop, says "The JL M177 Scan HP is not found".  Really frustrating not having not working on Dell and cannot continue to go to the laptop to do scans and then send to myself to store on Dell.  Aaauuugghhhh!  Any ideas.  Cannot find drivers scanner only for her.  Doesn't even help with plugging in the USB cable.

  Heads up guys!  My smart husband solved the problem with persistence.  He kept the program installation and must have picked up small pieces as it went along because it finally worked even though he says he had not installed.  Took it 10 hours, but he finally got the Dell to recognize the Scanner.  Woohoo!

  The copy of my Laser printer feature is misaligned, i.e. when I placed a page on flat glass, the copy, he sends cut off the top of my copy. It seems to me cuts on top of everything that is being analyzed. Somehow the flat glass surface got out of alignment with the copy inside decision-making mechanism.

  Welcome to the HP Support forum.

  I understand that a HP Color LaserJet Pro M177fw MFP which is cutting off the top of copies and scans. I would like to help with that.

  It is possible that the scanner does not calibrate properly on startup. To calibrate the printer copier/scanner:

  1 remove all items from the scanner glass.

  2. close the scanner cover and doors.

  3. press the power button / to activate the product.

  4. with the product under voltage, unplug the power cord from the back of the product.

  5. unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.

  6. wait at least 30 seconds.

  7. plug the power cord into the wall outlet.

  8. reconnect the power cord to the back of the product.

  9. If the product does not light by itself, press the power button / to turn it on.

  There is no way to actually align the copier/scanner.

• HP Color LaserJet M177fw MFP Pro - support PostScript?

  I am looking to buy a new printer/scanner/copier(/fax is a nice to have, but not mandatory), and I am deciding between the following models:

  HP LaserJet Pro 100 color MFP M175nw

  HP Color LaserJet M177fw MFP Pro

  PostScript support is important to me, and I know that the 175 has it.  However, I'm not sure I know the 177, even after digging through several web pages and documents.  Here's what I found:

  -The page of the main form for the 177 says that he accepts "Cffp.  I'm not familiar with this variant PCL, so I don't know how it compares to PCL5 or PCL6, etc..  I have been unable to find more information about "Cffp.

  -The 'Software' section of Page 2 of the PDF Datasheet for the 177 mentions the driver "HP PostScript".  This is the only place where I saw no potential indication that the 177 supports PostScript.  This article also mentions a driver "PCLmS".  I couldn't find more information about "PCLmS".

  -The user 's Guide the 177 refers only to PostScript in an article that refers to ePrint.  However, it does not imply that the 177 itself supports PostScript.

  -Page product specification (in the Support section of the HP site) for the 177 has a "Print Specifications" section which lists only "PCL3 GUI" next to "languages of device.

  I'm guessing that the 177 is not compatible PostScript, but someone has the more definitive information?  Also, is there a description of the Cffp / PCLmS somewhere?

  I bought a HP Color Laserjet M177FW MFP PRO today and took me to the top. It can print and scan over wireless network. However, it cannot successfully connect to web services.   First of all thanks for your help. I solved my problem. After that I sent this message that I've updated my firmware printers and that does not solve the problem. I called HP customer service and they help me. We have solved the problem. My router was the reason for my problem. When I reset to factory settings, the problem disappeared. Thanks anyway.   I see by your post that the printer emits periodically. I would like to help you today.

  Make sure that the printer is connected directly to a wall outlet. (do not use a hub or a surge protector) This ensures that the printer is full on and can help this situation.

  Update the firmware of the printer. HP Color LaserJet Pro M177fw MFP drivers.

  Select your operating system, click Next, click the link for the firmware.

  You may need to set the time to sleep and define the sequence of events on the printer.

  Touch control panel:
  1. from the home screen on the product control panel, press the Setup button.
  2. open the following menus:
  The system configuration
  Energy settings
  Sleep/Auto Off after
  3. Select the time for the delay of sleep/Auto Off.
  NOTE: The default value is 15 Minutes.
  4. the product automatically wakes up when he receives jobs or when you touch the screen on the product

  I read your post and see that you do not want the default value of the B & W printer. I'd love to help you.

  Check the name of the pilot in devices and printers to see how it is listed. (Laserjet M177fw or class driver)

  Did you install the full feature software?

  Here is a link for it, if you need it. HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M177fw.

  Here are the steps to set the B & W parameters:

  1. in the software, select the option print.
  2. Select the product, and then click Properties or preferences.
  3. click on the paper/quality tab.
  4. in the color section, select black & white or color.
  NOTE: when black & white is selected, printing in grayscale setting in the Advanced Options is automatically replaced with the only option of black ink cartridge.
  5. click on the OK button to close the Document Properties dialog box. In the print dialog box, click on the
  OK button to print the job.

  You can also define it in permanence of devices and printers. Access to devices and printers, click with the right button on the printer and on the left, click printer properties click the paper/quality tab to select B & W.

  This information is provided by the manual on page 88. Multifunction COLOR LASERJET PRO.

  What were the results when you ran the Print and Scan Doctor? (she print or scan, error messages)

  A 22 Scanner error indicates a hardware failure.

  If you can not make a copy, the error of WIA is not related to the problem at all, but the scanner is not working.

  If you are able to make a copy, check the following on your PC:

  Open the properties of the Windows Image Acquisition (WIA) service, then the Dependencies tab.

  I had no wifi problems between my Imac and HP Color LaserJet M177fw MFP Pro to scan until recently - it can be related to operating system update to OSX 10.11.4 which was done yesterday however.

  I can scan is no longer docyuments from the top of the charger page - scan starts but just hangs and then I can not re - activate the scan function until I have to force it to quit.

  Can you suggest appropriate corrective measures to try please?

  In the Apple menu, click about this Mac, and then software update.

  Is there a way for the printer to "beep" when a fax is sent successfully? Right now you have to look at the screen of the printer to confirm the fax has been sent successfully. Just old habit I guess.

  If it's a wonderful idea, the Laserjet printer does not have this ability.

  You can configure the printer to print a confirmation page when a fax is sent successfully.

  I agree that the tone would be better.

  To set the confirmation page, you can enter the menu setup then the fax menu.
