missing wireless adapter!

I had everything working properly. However, after automatically an update of windows, the wireless adapter has disappeared. She can still be seen in the Device Manager window.
I was connected to the internet by cable.
I have an access point at home where I usually connect my laptop. I assure you that the access point is not the problem as I saw at least 3 laptops in the same network works normally, most smartphones and so on.
Kind regards
Williams.

  • HP Envy 13: Nic is missing wireless adapter can be seen

This is a question about the new HP envy 13 aluminium which was released in October 2015

I turned on my laptop today and noticed that my network card is gone without NIC included except a bluetooth device.

I went into the Device Manager and noticed that he was missing the wireless lan device. I tried to add material, but he could not find the wireless network card.

I did a full install of Windows 10 using HP to restore back to factory default, but he did not always see the NIC

I went into the bios and noticed that when I watched the boot order there was an exclamation next to the lan device.

    Any help would be appreciated

He had all the latest updates applied

    Hello seamusobr ;

Let me welcome you on the HP forums!

I read your post on your wireless network card problem and wanted to help.

At first, it read as if you were yet another victim of the now infamous day Win10-auto-driver-updates problem where the PC works fine until suddenly one day, this isn't - and in the sense, MS has automatically installed a damaged driver in your PC - without your consent.

But, a factory reset SHOULD have restored the drivers of the original (probably working) and would have had to go back to the WiFi features.

So my suspicion is a hardware failure - we can do anything in this forum.

My suggestion, this machine is probably still under warranty, given that you contact HP customer care directly to explore alternative options, maintenance and repair:

If you live in the United States or the Canada, details are on this page: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/phone-assist.html#section1

If you live elsewhere, contact details are on this page: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/ww-contact-us.html

    Good luck

  • Windows 7 wireless adapter missing

    Hello

I have a DELL Inspiron 14R with windows 7 installed top.

Yesterday, Wifi worked very well, and today, it is not. Wireless adapter is not listed in the change of parameters of the card or even the Device Manager... However, the ethernet connection works fine.

I tried to reload using the last configuration and nothing has changed.

Any idea on what the problem might be, and a solution would be more than welcome :)

    Thank you.

    Hello Fredric,

Welcome to the Microsoft Community Forum.

    1. This is the first time that you connect to a Wi - Fi connection?
    2. You get the error message? If Yes, what is the exact error message/code?
    3. You did it hardware or software change before the specific issue?

I would suggest trying the following methods and check.

Method 1: why I can't connect to the Internet? to:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/cant-connect-Internet#1TC=Windows-7

Method 2: Install the latest drivers for the network card

How can I troubleshoot network card?

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/fix-network-adapter-problems#1TC=Windows-7

For problems with missing wireless adapter, update the drivers for the wireless adapter and check if you are able to access the Internet

Method 3: Update a hardware driver that is not working properly

  • Missing wireless network adapter

    HI -.

I've seen a number of similar questions but no solution to my problem.

    My system:
    Toshiba A505-S6980
    Windows 7 Home Premium - 64-bit
    Realtek WLAN driver

    Problem:
After the resumption of a sleep, the network adapter dissappeared.  This has happened before and they have replaced the computer, after trying a system restore and recovery then full.  Apparently, it is not the computer.

The wireless adapter is missing in Device Manager, even less space network and connections.  To solve the problems, the computer simply says that a network cable needs to be connected.  There is no choice under wireless network connections.  It has no label adapter wireless on right click of the NIC in Device Manager.

Realtek WLAN driver appears in the list programs & features.  I uninstalled, reinstalled and also found/installed a patch for the pilot.  It did not work.  I have also started/automated wireless auto configuration scripts.  Nothing works.

    Any help is appreciated.

This same thing happened to me. What are the causes it to happen is very low battery, but has found a simple solution to turn back on the wireless network card.

Hold the Windows key and press x

    menu should appear

    Click on Device Manager

must go to a list of devices on your computer

Expand the network adapters in the list

Maybe a little choice but look for 2 people with the same name. one for the wifi and the other for ethernet

Double click on the wireless network card

    Click the power management tab

Click on the tab that allows wifi to be off with low battery

Click the tab drivers and turn on the device

    should be fine from there

  • Wireless adapter is missing. Now under 'other devices '.

    Hello

I'm running Windows 7 on a Dell Latitude E6420. My wireless adapter is missing. The only way you can find it is through the device and then Manager, it appears as 'Other devices' - 'Network controller' with a yellow sign - Code 28. I tried to have the driver update system - he finds nothing. I also downloaded newer versions of Intel and Dell - nothing. If I force it to do manually (I would locate etc) then I get a blue screen.
I started the computer off a Linux LiveCD and the wireless adapter works flawlessly.
I ran out of laps. Would appreciate any help on what to do (short of reinstalling Windows, I really want to get to the bottom of it without it).
    Thank you very much.

    Hi JoqngclyE0,

Thanks for your reply. In my case, it's different. If you read my original post, I say that I tried to start up with a Linux LiveCD and it resumed instantly wireless card. It is clear to me that this is a Windows problem.

Please keep in mind that my computer is a Dell, so nothing to do with these HP problems. I'm sure reinstall would fix things, but there is no guarantee that the problem will not happen and I don't want to have to reinstall on the one hand, and on others I like to think I'm rational and I understand why things happen.

No help from anyone, really appreciated.

    Thank you

  • Problem with access point or wireless adapter

    Hello world

tried to connect to my WiFi, but the convenience store detects that the problem with access point or wireless adapter.
The drivers are up-to-date and functioning normally. There were discussions on BIOS but I don't know if I would be able to complete the task without bricking your laptop.

    Is there any online support?

    Hi smert

Your message is not really useful.
Why? Because no one knows all the details of the laptop, wireless network card system...
So please would you be kind enough to provide more details.

But despite the missing information, I recommend:
    (1) reset your router WLan
    (2) check the connection to the WiFi unsecured. (of course for testing purposes)
    (3) check the different (WPA/WPA2 AES, TKIP) encryption

  • Wireless adapter has disappeared on my Satellite C660-22V

Hi, I am very well to this new and have knowledge on this SUBJECT.

The situation is, my computer had a problem turning on and the opportunity to restore to a previous point in time, that I continued with. After the completion of this and that the computer opens completely, the wireless adapter is no longer meet!

I tried to look in the network and sharing Center, there is no option for a wireless adapter, only one ethernet adapter unplugged.

I also looked in the Device Manager and I cannot find any mention of the wireless adapter, I expected to be there with a yellow icon, that means a driver problem, but it is not there at all!

The laptop is a Toshiba Satellite C660-22V

    Thank you!
    Tom

    > I also looked in the Device Manager and I cannot find any mention of the wireless adapter, I expected to be there with a yellow icon, that means a driver problem, but it is not there at all!

What devices appear in Device Manager under the category network cards?
    Is any unknown device visible?

To my knowledge, this Satellite C660-22V has been fitted with a 802.11(b/g/n) of Realtek RTL8188CE WLan card.

For installation of the driver Realtek RTL8188CE WLan should help to make it work (of course, just in case a missing driver would be the problem)

By the way: what system are you using?

  • HP 250 G3: BSOD - netr28x.sys (MediaTek 802.11 Wireless Adapter Driver, MediaTek Inc.)

I recently bought the HP 250 G3 without OS laptop.

I installed Win 7 pro 64 bit and all the missing drivers, which now seem to be up to date.
I made my machine run all night to check synchronize files on dropbox and google reader, but this morning, I realized crashes BSOD occurred 9 times.

So I download WhoCrashed which identified the main cause of the system down to be:

netr28x.sys (MediaTek 802.11 Wireless Adapter Driver, MediaTek Inc.)

WhoCrashed strongly recommend checking the updates for this driver.
Can anyone suggest me how to upgrade?
    Thanks in advance.

I fixed my problem 8.1 WIndows installation on my laptop.
I have not had any crash since I installed it, which was 5 days ago.
I gather that some drivers HP for Windows 7 dindn can't work properly.

  • HP OfficeJet 4500 G510-m: set a wireless adapter in the port of my HP OfficeJet 4500 G510-M Ethernet

Hello, a recent update of fiber in my house left me without an Ethernet cable to my HP OfficeJet 4500 G510-M.

Can I connect a wireless adapter to the ethernet port on the printer?  I could use the USB connection, attach it to a computer and share the printer to the network.  I thought to fix a wireless to the printer adapter would give me the most flexibility.

    Thoughts?

    Thank you

    Dan

    Hello @tarfy58,

Welcome to the forums of HP.

I understand that you are looking for alternative methods to put your Officejet 4500 G510-M on your network.

    I would like to help.

Unfortunately the printers firmware would not know what to do with the wireless adapter.

You would need something like HP 1200w NFC/Wireless Mobile Print accessory.

The only downside is that I saw the Officejet 4500 on the list of supported printers.

Please check the specs of the device, in case I missed it.

Your method the most effective would be to use the USB connection, attach it to a computer,

and share the printer to the network.

  • Lack of wireless and wireless adapter led remains Orange. Help

Dropped my laptop, nothing broken, but now my wireless adapter is missing and cannot be found in the Device Manager or the wireless connections screen.

My wireless button is orange instead of its normal blue light and clicking it does not change it to blue light.

Everything that is displayed in the network card in my device manager is my ethernet (Realtek RTL8102E/8103E family PCI) and not my wireless LAN that allows to display.

Also, the wireless adapter is not found in the---> Mobile PC Control Panel---> adjust commonly used mobility settings. HP Network Assistant also does not work, I have also uninstalled and reinstalled.

At the start screen, I get a notice indicating that the Wireless Module is not found.

Here's what I did so far, but without success:

    (1) upgrade to the latest version of the BIOS
    (2) Made that wireless LAN is enabled in the BIOS screen
    (3) guarantees that there aren't any errors in the network adapter in Device Manager
    (4) ensure disabled in power management in the Device Manager
    (5) downloaded updates of wireless network card driver
    (6) restoration of the system to a working condition previously.
    7) opened the back of the computer on which the wireless module is and reinstalled it just in case he moved his place when the laptop has fallen. I did it by unscrewing the wireless module and back into position.

I did this and my wireless adapter is still not found. If she showed upward then at least I can turn it on if it had become invalid, but this is not yet the case. Outside, nothing is broken. So I have no idea on what to do.

    Please, please, please help.

    Hello

    Perform a hard reset

1 disconnect all devices and remove all USB devices and multimedia cards.
2 disconnect the power adapter, remove the battery and then press in and hold the button for at least 1 minute.
3 reconnect the power adapter (do not connect the battery), press the switch and check is this problem is solved or not.

When it will not work then try to unmount and mount the wireless card.
