monitor blacks out after the windows xp screen__
My xp computer starts and gets past windows xp screen. Then it goes to a black screen and stays there. What can I do?
I know that the machine is on because I can boot into safe mode. I scanned for viruses and found nothing.
I reinstalled exchanged monitors, video card. Problem still exists.
I backed up my data, then I used my windows xp cd to repair the mbr, but no difference.
I don't have this problem with another computer connected to this monitor.
Help!
Hi Abbeda,
1. did you of recent changes on the computer?
2. you receive an error message?
When you start in safe mode, the display card drivers are not loaded on the computer, it is possible that the display adapter driver is corrupted.
I suggest that you start the computer in mode Activate Video VGA and then install the latest drivers for display on the computer card and check.
(a) remove all unnecessary devices in your computer, such as printers, scanners and removable storage devices.
(b) restart the computer.
(c) keep pressing the F8 key until the Windows Startup menu appears.
(d) select enable low-resolution video (640 * 480) option and press ENTER.
Note: in the medium Mode, your system display and desktop will look and perform differently than in Normal Mode. This is only temporary.

Black screen after the windows login
Hi, I have a HP Pavilion DV7 notebook with Windows 7 Home Premium installed on it. A problem I've noticed is that, once I connect to windows during a boot, the screen is black for about 1-2 minutes. After awhile, explorer.exe would with desktop, taskbar and icons. I am concerned about this 1 to 2 minutes of black screen after the boot as it did not exist previously. I know I have options such as restoring the computer laptop back to the default state, or by using the system restore. However, I don't want to lose all my stuff, and with respect to the restoration of the system, I'm not sure when the problem happening, as it was some time ago. I have read a Microsoft article, (http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/why-is-my-screen-black-when-i-start-windows-7) and tried all the steps with the graphics card and the regestry, but nothing seems to work.
-Task Manager is able to open when the screen is black (shows explorer.exe running)
-J' have the drivers on the HP support site
-laptop is HP Pavilion DV7 3024ca
You will need to login using the method of trial and error. Please uncheck all of the MSCONFIG Startup tab and restart the system. If the black screen issue is resolved, then check out an application every time and restart the system. This will help you to identify the program interfere.

Windows startup at black screen after the Windows logo
Original title: Evga Nvidia GeForce GT 520 1GB black screen graphics card
I have a Hp Pavilion 6400 in the series which ran on Windows Vista (32 bit). I recently installed Windows 7 Ultimate (32 bit) and now the screen goes black once the windows logo closed its animation. I uninstalled the driver, re the driver installed and configured my system to the lowest resolution.
Already found in the forums.-TV is too old to be compatible.EVGA - technician told me that the food was not powerful enough.-Forum Windows says: error in Explorer.exe.-Also found response that runs the computer through MSconfig would solve the problem. So far, none of these solutions have worked. Answers appreciated.Problem solved.
It turns out, the driver for the video card would never completely install due to its mode of operation.Solution.1 restart Windows "low resolution".2. access to the form of previously downloaded files driver install the EVGA site while in safe mode.3. once divers have installed I changed the resolution in a HD rather than a framework"(native)" parameter in the resolution section.4. application of the Windows updates.5A started playing Star Trek Online. Thanks for your reply and have a great week. -

Help, please...Hi @vikash4309 ,
At this point I agree with the tech that look at the computer I think it's a problem with the hard drive or even the system board. They may give falsely on the test results. I would recommend that you take it back to this HP's Service Center.
If you do not replace the hard drive recovery CDs should work as long as replace you it with another hard drive and not an SSD because they are different and the recovery CD will know how to properly partition the drive.

You say you have "defective" material and you want a software solution?
Any material support - including the drivers and other software that may be necessary to enable a hardware component to operate fully in a given operating system - is the manufacturer of the equipment. So if you have a problem with your nVidia GT220 video card - your first stop should be nVidia.
- Assuming you have Windows 7 64 bit, the drivers you want to include.
- Assuming you have Windows 7 32 bit, the drivers you want to include.
-In addition, you are in the hands of nVidia.

G62 screen remains black after the windows logo
Hello
I have a HP G62-b05SD. I noticed that many people have the problem of simmular.
I know what makes, but don't know how to fix it.
So here it is.
Sometimes when I boot / reboot system screen turns black after the windows logo, but if I wait a while, I do not hear the star tune up windows, but the screen remains black.
I noticed that this happens when I shut down or restart the system with a usb port (be it a mouse or a stick is not serious)
If I all out en usb port restart or turn on the machine for the first time this day here, everything starts well.
So there must be some driver problems I think with usb ports and the screen or something.
Help, please!
HP G62-b05SD
Windows 7 64-bit
Intel i3
ATI mobility radeon graphics card
Ow and when I get the black screen, the hard reset does not always work.
I also did a startup repair and it showed:
"If you have recently attached a device to this computer as a camera or portable music player, remove it and restart your computer. If you continue to see this message bla... bla... bla... "
I hope you can help.
Hi Frosty1984,
Thank you for visiting the Forums HP's Support and welcome. I read your thread on your HP G62 - b05SD Notebook and having problems with the starter. Here is a link to BIOS update.
What is the USB device that is at the origin of the questions?
Thank you.

Windows Vista 64-bit... Black laptop after the latest updates... windows screens will not boot into SafeMode again black screens.
Hello
I would suggest trying the following methods and check if it helps.
Method 1:Try the steps in the following Microsoft article and check if it helps.
Windows Vista or Windows 7 unbootable, and the Startup Repair tool does not resolve the problem:
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/934540
Method 2:
You can refer to the link below and check the drive for errors:
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/check-your-hard-disk-for-errorsWarning: when running chkdsk on the drive hard if bad sectors are found on the disk hard when chkdsk attempts to repair this area if all available on which data may be lost.
If the methods mentioned above do not solve the problem, then it would be best to contact the manufacturer of the computer.
For more information, see the following Microsoft article and check if that helps.

recently installed an automatic update of windows 8.1. Now, I get a black screen after the home page. I can load the Task Manager and access the internet. tried to go to the SafeMode to start with f8, but several attempts failed. I updated my graphics driver from AMD today and same black screen. I've also restored sytem to an earlier date using the HP utility with results screen - black even after the home page.
Hello
Try the following.
Boot the computer normally and log.
Black screen, old the ctrl and alt keys and press delete.
Select Task Manager.
Click on file and select the new task.
Type rstrui - also enter a tick in the box for "create this task with administrative privileges" - and click on Ok.
When the system restore interface is loaded, choose a restore point at least 48 hours before the opening of session question (IE before the last batch of Windows updates have been applied) occurred initially and then proceed to the system restore.
Kind regards

Black screen after the notation in Windows 8
Title screen: black original after logon (windows 8)
I have lock my Dell M4400 (windows + L) and close the cover, after leaving for about 5 minutes. And to come back and connect on my laptop that my office shows about 1 min, then my screen turns black.
It happens every time, I lengthen windows, my display drivers but nothing helped. This started happening about 3 days ago, so I went back in time for a week, but it's always the same.Someone has an idea to solve this problem?Edit: now it does to wake from its slumber, the clean is when I cut the power or the hardshutdown. The screen remains black even after a couple of try tot restart the laptop. Im getting Desperate now.I tried to make the window & window + R, C. They simply do not work. The only thing I can do a window + L & Ctrl + Alt + Delete. I opened my computer by using the Windows Task Manager. With my computer, I opened Google Chrome and I'm typing this now with a black screen Google Chrome, Windows Explorer and Windows Task Manager.
Task Manager, go to file > new task.
RSTRUI put in and this should start the system restore.
Choose a restore point a few days before this problem if it is available and you should be good to go.

computer does not start after the Windows XP logo window
Windows xp home edition
service pack 2
Dell inspiron 15011. computer does not start after the Windows XP logo window
2 works well in safe mode, even connect to the external monitor
3. I reinstalled xp many times, problem stil exist. All the answers?
Hi dhanushm,
- What happens after the Windows logo screen?
- You receive an error message?
- You have security software installed on the computer?
- Have you performed an installation clean Windows XP and even after that this problem exists?
Method 1
As the computer starts up fine in safe mode there is a possibility that some third-party programs installed on the computer is the origin of the problem.
I suggest that you configure the computer in a clean boot state and check if it helps.
To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows XP by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.
See section to learn more about how to clean boot.
How to configure Windows XP to start in a "clean boot" State
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/310353
Reset the computer to start as usual
When you are finished troubleshooting, follow these steps to reset the computer to start as usual:
- Click Start , and then click run.
- Type msconfig , and then click OK.
The System Configuration utility dialog box appears. - Click the general tab, click Normal Startup - load all device drivers and services , and then click OK.
- When you are prompted, click restart to restart the computer.
Method 2
If fails it above step can refer to the article below and try the steps mentioned, check if it helps.
After the Windows Logo appears or after you log in to Windows, a Windows XP computer cannot display the wallpaper, a black screen or a blue screen

Inspiron 9300 screen turns off after the Windows Logo screen
Inspiron 9300 my wife became severely infected. I thought I had some weird things start popping up of the problem decided to wipe the hard drive and start over. Unfortunately, I don't have to restore disks when I bought the computer. I install windows xp pro service pack 2 full retail version.
Installation was not a problem until I installed the driver ATI Mobility x 300. I followed directions for installation from the website, do the installation of xp followed of the dell system software update followed of chipset followed video driver. After that whenever I put on, the screen turns off after the Windows Logo. The computer is still running and if I plug an external monitor everythng is fine.
I tried all the troubleshooting tips I've seen in this forum. I did a full install twice. made of safety boots (all right), started in VGA mode (works fine), I ran diagnostics from fn on startup, including express, extended and video tests and they pass all the controls. I'm sure it's a software problem, but have been unable to solve. I've updated the ATI bios although when I run it says already installed and done one installs x 300 driver on 6 ttimes own.
I know it must be something simple that I'm missing. My system is the Inspiron 9300 with 2 GB of ram and the mobility x 300 card. Any help would be appreciated.
