no screen HP Touchsmart IQ846

I have a HP Touchsmart 25.5 "IQ846 who has no display purchased Sept 2009.  Computer worked fine then one day, no display. When I turn on the computer, I can hear the music from windows 7, but my screen is empty.  I cannot remote desktop and I can see my desktop icons.  I tried recommended HP's F5/F10 to reset the bios, nothing, I stepped back as map video, such as recommended.  When I called back today, they proposed another procedure where I plug in the power, wait a minute, unplug then press and hold the power button for 15 seconds.  They also suggested to turn on the computer, take a flashlight and look at the screen on an angle, though I can see my desktop icons that they feel that the backlight is gone, if I don't see anything that's probably my motherboard.

Anyone out there have similar problem, we paid a lot of money $1999,00 for this computer and isn't happy he does not work after so little time...

HP sent me a box to ship my touchsmart to them for repair, they feel that it is a video card or the backlight.  My $100,00 repair cost which is excellent.

  • Smart touch 610-1010UK Office: flickering screen on Touchsmart 610

During the evening of 11/11/15 the flickering screen started. The mouse moves the cursor, but nothing does. F1, F8, F10, and F11 repeatedly pressed when starting up do not appear all the screens.  I see others have screen similar flicker. Help would be appreciated.

Resolved - on the Microsoft Forum, we thought that Windows Update KB3097877 on Windows 7 might have caused the flickering on the PC.  Windows have now pushed another version of KB3097877 for this problem.   The good news for those whose parts are automatic update of Windows is that all you have to do is turn on your computer and put up with the annoying flicker until the new update gives you the logon screen.

If any good came of this, is that we should remember to save regularly.

It's a costly display block. You will need the entire Assembly. No tactile variety can be repaired with subassembly parts, such as the screen itself.

  • IQ846 - can I add a second monitor?

I hope that some of you out there may be able to offer a suggestion as to whether or not it is possible to add a second screen to my IQ846 who is still using Vista x 64. Since there is no port output additional display on this machine, I expect it would change the video card - if that's even possible. So in fact, it's really my question: first of all, is easily removable video card (requires no welding); and secondly, does anyone know of a replacement card that would support the addition of a second screen?

Here are the specifications of your desktop HP TouchSmart IQ846. This model contains no video outputs external of any kind (VGA, DVI, HDMI, DisplayPort, etc.). Change the MXM PCIe x 16 video card will be difficult, expensive, may not work and still not provide an external video output. To connect an additional screen consider using an adapter USB-to-video, like the eVGA UV plus + UV39 or one of the other many adapter on the market.

Hi, I have a HP TouchSmart 320-1030, so it can work on your TouchSmart:

    1. Press Windows + X logo.
    2. Select Device Manager from the list.
    3. Click on the small arrow next to Interface devices to expand the list.
    4. Click the touchscreen driver (in my case, Voltron NextWindow touch screen).
    5. Right click and select disable from the list.
    6. Click Yes in the dialog box that asks you if you are sure you want to disable the touch screen driver.

When you want your touchscreen to work again, follow the above procedure, EXCEPT when right-clicking on the touch screen driver, select enable.

  • Pavilion Touchsmart 23: Pavilion 23 Touchsmart screen dim after sleep Windows 10

    Pavilion Touchsmart 23 all-in-One model f339

    AMD Radeon HD D 8670

My screen is too dark, after that the computer "wakes up" fashion "sleep" I can read only now my face one inch away. Reboot brings the brightness back to normal, only to happen again the next time that the computer sleeps. This has only started happening since the upgrade of Windows 8 to 10 of Windows.

    -All drivers are up-to-date

    -All Windows updates are up-to-date

-There is no brightness slider in power options

-I have no brightness control on my keyboard

Please help me solve this problem, so I don't have to go back to Windows 8! Thank you in advance.

I think I might have made some progress with this problem. I had a friend call me and he suffered from these same questions. The partial solution (and probably most) I've discovered is that there is a critical update of the BIOS that had not been done. Because Windows 10 was already installed, it didn't appear on the page to Support HP or HP update software. The way I had the time it was to say the HP website that I had Windows 8.1. The update then appeared. I downloaded the BIOS for its model was last updated and installed. (BTW: it worked great in Windows 10). Once I've upgraded, the dark screen problem has been resolved. However, as long as the screen saver, night light or auto Hibernate still does not work. You can manually put the computer to sleep via a button or the start menu, and he returned very well. His was an AMD based all-in-one and I don't remember not if someone had problems with the Intel based platforms.

So, to summarize... If you have not installed 10 still make sure you BIOS update first. If you have goto, the Web site and enter your model. Replace the Windows 8.1 operating system. Download and install.

If anyone has more of an insight, please answer others to take advantage. Good luck and enjoy Windows 10. And if anyone has a solution for the problem of sleep/sleep/screensaver please respond.

  • HP Touchsmart 310 1100 HP Screen-No Black logo or whatever it is-just a black screen

    Hi-

I have a HP Touchsmart 310 1100 which when I turn there is only a black screen and I can hear the fans running. No HP logo or guest to enter the bios, just a completely black screen.

    I tried:

    (1) HP suggested resetting the default bios (http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c02217843) settings by pressing f10, f5 etc.

    (2) remove the hard drive, reinstalling memory, unplug all usb accessories

    (3) used another power supply from an another 310 HP

    (4) change the jumper on the motherboard from 1-2 to 7-8 and back to 1-2 to clear the cmos memory

I'm about to remove the cooling fan and the unit and re-insert the processor, but I wonder if there is something to try before that.

I'm starting to think it's a bad mother, gpu, or display the power inverter.

It is out of warranty, so if anyone has any advice I would be happy.

This seems to be a problem that has been listed in a dozen other posts without real solution given.

I solved my problem with my 310 - it was the CPU. Replaced with the same model cpu AMD bought on Amazon.

    Works fine now.

There is no video card to replace on my model 310. There is a video chip that is soldered to the motherboard.

    Hello David Edward,.

Your system originally came with Windows 7?

Have you tried reseating the RAM stick? Sometimes, that's all it takes.

I got a stick go bad causing a system to have the exact symptoms you describe.

The system will use the built-in memory RAM. If the RAM is bad, it can cause the effect of black screen.

You can also run a diagnostic memory via the bios here test...

HP Notebook PC - detection of hardware failures (Windows 7, Vista)

You can also run a memtest from a USB or DVD.

MemTest86 - Official Site of the x 86 memory test tool

Ideal would be to have another stick of ram to replace with to test.

  • Blue screen during installation of Windows XP on HP touchsmart 7320

    I have a HP touchsmart 7320 with Windows 7 Professional 64-bit pre-installed.

I have to install Windows XP (32 bit) next to Windows 7, so that I can run a costly professional application which meets the incompatibility issues with Windows 7.

Compatibility mode makes no difference. Virtual PC and XP mode are broken during the installation of the application. So its a way for me to have a dual-boot with Windows 7 ande Windows XP machine.

When I am installing Windows XP (all versions-family, professional, 32 or 64-bit with original CD always) gives a blue screen with strange characters and the following STOP message:

    | STOP 0X0000007E
    (0xc0000005, 0xf748e0bf, 0xf78da208, 0xf78d9f08)

    PCI.sys - address f748e0bf base at f7487000 datestamp 36d855c

I did a new Windows XP installation CD using nLite, "slipstreaming" of Service Pack 2 and AHCI SATA drivers I found here and they are proposed by this guide.

That seems to work for awhile, because the installation process went further. It passes the point where she was already giving the blue screen, but it gives blue screen in a later stage of the installation process and one other STOP message which is now:

    Hello:

I have another solution for you.

First, go to your Windows 7 installation and in Device Manager, click on IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers section.

Please confirm that you have the Intel (r) Desktop/Workstation/Server Express Chipset SATA AHCI Controller.

If it's not the ACHI SATA controller you have, thanks for posting what you have.

Now, here is another method to install XP.

Go into your BIOS. Go to the menu of storage options. Change your SATA of ACHI to IDE emulation mode. Save the configuration at this time by pressing the F10 key and save your settings again when you leave.

    Now XP must install.

After XP is installed, please share back and I'll give you the instructions step by step to load the post SATA ACHI driver XP installation, so you can change your return to ACHI BIOS setting, so that you can dual boot your machine.

Currently, only XP will start with the value IDE BIOS. With the ACHI BIOS value, only W7 will start. That's why we need to load the drivers for XP achi sata once you have it installed.

I think that we can find all the XP drivers, you need to as well.

  • TouchSmart 520: The computer is stuck on the opening of the screens.

    Hi all

It will be a little long because I try to give as much detail as possible. I have a desktop HP Touchsmart 520. The other day, I want to run an OS based on Linux from a USB key. I did once before, so I did what I did the last time. I unplugged, take off the back, then removed the hard drive, then plugged the USB key. I was hoping that since I didn't drive hard in, the computer would then operate the stick because of the boot order. He did bring up the screen of the OS, but gave me an error on failure. I turned it off and then return and go to the bios to change the configuration. I found the USB from the menu, but couldn't move, so I tried to disable the first option for the hard drive. I plugged the USB back in, but it does not still work, so I tried to drive hard back. Something happened somewhere in all this, the computer froze, so I tried to hit different buttons to see if I could get an answer, but nothing, so I cut. When I cut back on, I can't no longer to enter the BIOS. The usual HP screen comes up and says press ESC to enter on the start menu, and if I hit him in the first second coming he will take me to a black screen that has my computer on this subject record, starting with the processor type, processor speed, etc. (if I hit any button in a moment the computer hangs on the HP screen). This black screen is as far as I can go and the computer always crashes here, no matter what button I push, but it is said in the lower right corner of the activity for any button I pressed on, for example if I press F2 on the HP screen, it will go to the black screen with my characteristics and in the lower right It will read Diagnostics; If I am pressing F10, it will do as above but read the configuration. He never goes beyond this screen. I know that's not my hard drive, because he wasn't in when it started happening, nor is it possible that a virus has been on the USB port, as it's a BONE checked and I do not use this stick for something else. I know that something happened when I was in the BIOS, but I don't know how to fix it. Nobody knows what is happening or what I can do to try to fix it? It would be very appreciated that I can't afford to take it in, and I don't think it's a bad thing in the first place, I don't know what I'm doing. Thanks to you all!

    Hello

seems that there is a corruption of the bios. First try to make BIOS clear CMOS. He must go, unplug the power supply, open it on the back and to remove the RTC (real time clock) battery for a couple miutes and then turn the unit and go to the bios and load bios defaults. As a guide to go and use the services for your product guide. You specify exactly which model you have (model number or product number), but look on hp.com for service guide: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c03357415 for more details.

Note that this operation to be experienced user but you wrote that you have disconnected the HARD drive, you have already opened the unit if you wait is at the level to do so.

If the RTC cmos clear won't help, report back and we will help you make bios flash BACK.
