No sound on my HP Sleekbook

Hello world

I have a HP Pavilion Sleekbook 15-b002ev with Windows 8.1. I experience the following problem. Sometimes I audio and sometimes I did, without a particular reason. I can watch a video without problem, but on the next video, the sound will be off. I've tried everything. Codec IDT uninstalling and reinstalling it and unchecking the exclusive mode. The same thing happens even after installing the latest Codec IDT (6.10.6425.0). When the audio is off, I am trying to test the speakers and the message that this camera is used by another application, makes its appearance. I don't know what to do. Please help me.

Kind regards

John

I understand sound does not work on your Windows 8.1. I will do my best to help you!

To begin troubleshooting, please follow the steps suggested in this document from HP: no sound from speakers (although the question seems to be intermittent)

Please let me know the results of your troubleshooting. In addition, if the problem persists, it worked correctly on Windows 8? I'm only here to help!

I've had this laptop for only a month, and it was going well until a few weeks ago, when he started to make this hum whenever I listen to the music or watching youtube videos. He emits a hum sound and accuses the audio for a second.

The sound was rare at first, but then lately my laptop did the sound hum frequently to the point where I just put the audio mute.

I did the HP Support Assistant, and everything is up-to-date.

    I also reinstalled my driver.
    My audio drivers are:
High Denfinition Audio CODEC IDT (I reinstalled it)
    Intel(r) Audio display

I also hear the hum when I plug my headphones too.

This may sound weird and you would never think to make a link between a hum and a wifi card driver, but the original poster marked this resolved, and said the driver solved wireless installation. The post is linked below.

Locate the driver for your card wifi here. You can find on which driver you need by pressing the Windows key + x simultaneously and selecting menu display the network adapters in Device Manager.

  • Sound driver problems

    Hello world

I reinstalled windows in my computer after you have removed all the files it contains.

Therefore, I unfortunately lost the recovery partition.

Now, after you have reinstalled the Windows 8 Pro, I installed all the drivers and everything works normally except the sound.

However, I have been using Ubuntu after reinstaled Windows and I DIND'T have no problem with that.

I thought that maybe this could be a problem inside, but when I use me headphones, or when I use my computer with my TV with HDMI, the problem persists.

My computer is a HP ENVY m6-k010dx Sleekbook.

So, what shoul I do to have it fixed?

(Sorry for my bad English )

    ---------------- UPDATE ----------------

I use a Linux Live USB to test the sound, as it could be any physical problem.

However, it turned out that it really is a driver problem.

    I found a solution

Just after installing Windows 8.1 the problem fixed itself

    Thanks for your help ():

    Hello

    Try the following.

Download IDT Audio Installer on the link below and save it in your downloads folder.

    http://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp58501-59000/sp58502.exe

One time finished, open windows control panel, open Device Manager and open sound, video and game controllers.  Right click on the IDT device and select uninstall - also, you should get a command prompt to delete the current driver, check the box allow this and then proceed to uninstall.

When you are finished, close the laptop by holding down the SHIFT key when you click Shutdown to stop temporarily a boot hybrid.

Robinet tap away at the key esc that you start the computer to launch the Start Menu, and then select f10 to open the bios menu.  Press f5 to load the default values (sometimes it's f9, but the menu below indicates the correct key), use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and press ENTER.  Press f10 to save the setting and still use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and press on enter.

Allow Windows to fully - charge it will automatically load an audio driver, but let just this complete.  Then open your download folder, right-click on the IDT Installer and select "Run as Administrator" to launch the installation.  When this has completed, restart the laptop.

    Kind regards

  • HP Pavilion Sleekbook 15-b000: my laptop makes buzzing noise

My laptop makes buzzing noise while playing music or video on both headphones and speakers

    Hi @vineeth_7,

Thank you for visiting the HP Forums! A place where you can find solutions for your problems with the help of the community!

I stumbled upon your post on the laptop and wanted to help you! I looked in your question about your HP Pavilion 15-b000 Sleekbook sizzling/buzzing noise. You can try:

    1. right click the speaker icon in the lower right corner of your time.
    2. click on playback devices.
    3. click on the speakers.
    4. click on properties.
    5. click on the Advanced tab in the Properties window.
    6. change the default menu Format in the highest quality.
    7. apply properties.
    8. click OK to close the Properties window. Restart your laptop and try the sound.

You can try to use theWindows Update Troubleshooter to fix updates that do not come through Windows.  Reboot the laptop twice to make sure that all updates are completed.

I recommend to restore the default BIOS settings. You could restore the BIOS withthis document by selecting the reload the default BIOS settings. This helped other people.

Please let me know how it goes.

  • Pavilion Sleekbook 15 will display the menu boot usb. Restarts continuously.

    Hello

I have a HP Pavilion Sleekbook 15 (model: 15-b022es) in which I am tryig to install Linux.

Since the day that I bought it, I was unable to boot anything directly via USB. I searched a lot on this subject, and the usual causes are order secure boot devices to boot, or Legacy Support options. This certainly isn't the case, since I tried all possible combinations. In fact, the exact symptoms that presents my laptop are not described anywhere I've found. What is:

If I insert a USB drive into any port of the laptop, it makes the computer completely unable to boot. It is not that it freezes, it restarts again and again, but never goes beyond a black screen and make a few sounds HDD (usual start of sounds, nothing weird). In this State, with again inserted USB, I can access the configuration of the BIOS by pressing F10, but can't access devices (usually available at F9) Start menu, because pressing F9 just causes a new reboot.

In the past I've accessed the start menu do not insert any USB and then pressing F9 then I walked into the USB port, entered and left some folder random to force a refresh of the display (and therefore show the USB) and finally selected my USB. It's a bit hacky and I can cease to apply this solution, as my HARD drive is now cleared and there is no file I can enter to refresh the screen and display the USB.

Now the thing is: I can not install any operating system to my laptop if I can't boot from USB, so how can I do? For now, all I get are continuous resets the machine before you get to the boot menu.

And what is the cause of all these resets? Maybe if I go out, I can imagine a way around this problem.

Thanks for the quick reply, but this isn't the problem, I had already tried.

I can handle the start menu until I do not start the computer with a USB stick inserted. If I insert one, it will prevent F9 to enter the boot menu, causing the machine to restart again indefinitely.

However, after having tried everything I could think of (even different file formats in diferent USB drives and for different configurations of BIOS), I went paranoid and I tried with every USB that I have at home.

I was able to start successfully with a Toshiba 8 GB fat32-formatted USB key (I tried with other pendrives fat32).

So, finally, it seems to me that it is a bug in my computer EFI firmware. In the first place, the incomplatibility seems to be a bad transposition a standard on the side of various manufacturers of USB key or on the side of HP. But in any case, continuous restarts instead of an information on the error message (as happens for some other errors) seems to be a bug to me behavior.

    Hi there @jane_14,

Thank you for visiting the Forums HP's Support and welcome! It is an excellent site to find answers and ask questions. I read your post on the Forums of HP Support. I understand that you are having problems with the sound on your helmet, but your speakers work.

I looked into the problem for you and I don't have a document for you to try for troubleshooting, but I also have a few questions to ask you.

1 have you tried another pair of headphones?

    2. you hear any distortion of the other head phone?

  • TS Sleekbook 15keypad

The touchpad on my Pavillion Sleekbook has a clean mind.  When moving my finger on the pad, sometimes the screen smaller, and there again, sometimes it increases.  I was able to change the font size using the tools at the top of the page icon.  But sometimes the Tools icon is not available.  How can I change it back, using the key itself?  And why does this happen in the first place?

Since the original post, it sounds like he is zoom in and out too and not when they are intended.  This is usually related to the sensitivity settings.  What you have described is not normal behavior.  The touchpad was called a trackpad several years ago, but the touchpad was a term fairly widespread in recent years.  Regarding the behavior, he has always done this or is this a recent development?

Try to reinstall the driver from the link below.

It may be necessary to uninstall the drivers from synatpics before installing it again.
