Officejet Pro L7780 print head error

I have a Officejet Pro L7780 all-in-one. Recently, it does not work due to a print head error (printhead missing or damaged M/C). Help, please.  Thank you very much.

Hello

Use the following link to complete the troubleshooting steps.

http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c01446637

If you still receive the error message after you perform the steps in troubleshooting mentioned in the document, then try cleaning print head in the printer menu.

Installation Menu - Tools - cleaning print head

Configure the Menu - Tools - align printer.

If none of these help then try this reset... This reset will restore the printer to its factory settings & will clear all the settings of the printer.

Unplug the cord from the back of the printer while the printer is always enabled.

Now hold "# & 9 ' buttons on the printer and connect the power chords while pressing the 2 keys. Wait 10 seconds, then release the keys.

If the printer turns off automatically, then wait for 10secs. and then turn on the printer using the power button on the printer.

I hope this helps.

  • OfficeJet pro 8500: print heads and things

OK, maybe it's a bit confusing. I have three printers Officejet 8500. No. 1 went into a never-ending cycle of clean print heads (after more than 30,000 pages) and without me being in the room the right side of the printer depot of ink on the table. Tried the reset but not good. Bought a second hand and after a few weeks, it came in paper jam mode. Could not resolve so finally bought number three. Works a treat and has no problem. Numbers one and two are for recycling. Print heads removed and stored in an airtight box with damp cloth. What is staging. Now after spending all that money, the last thing I want, it's having problems with number three. However, I have three cartridge sets new and unopened from PC World (their own brand) which cost £39. They came with the number two of the machine. They are not dated and has no way to know at what age they are. They are not oem, I can't any advice on their likely performance, but what worries me, is can the ink begins to solidify and block print heads as they age? Like I said they are still sealed. If I change the cartridge and use a spare set of the print heads to check the print output and that something is wrong if I can swap cartridges and print heads back without the printer enter the cycle of constant head cleaning. I know there have been issues with these printers but mine is on 27 000 pages and all tests are reports back in good health. I have also several chips of HP cartridges genuine that I can use.  Sorry as that a little long-winded.

    Hello @notahappybunny,

Welcome to the forums of HP.

I understand that you have some questions and concerns about your ink cartridges non OEM 8500 and some.

    I would like to help.

The following document explains on the expiry of the ink.

Consumable inkjet HP - ink Expiration

From what I've read, it's I think I understand that the ink may change over time.

Because ink is sealed I don't think they're going to solidify, but the pigment used in the ink may eventually separate from water. This will certainly cause print quality problems.

In addition, your first 8500 printhead might not be good.

A bad print head may cause the impression of entering the cycle without end cleaning.

I hope that I have answered your question.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8000 print head

Print head cartridge and start buttons falsh button all at the same time and momentarily. Following aid online - electric disconnection for 5 minutes and turn it on again and hold the resume button when the lid is open I just can't get the cart of the printhead to move his right hand positioning in the middle to remove and clean the print head. What is the solution to this you problem? Is there another way to reset the printer?

    Hi @Steve150951,

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

While doing some research, it is essentially the only way to get the impression transport move above. You can try to disconnect again, press on and hold the power button on the printer for at least 10 seconds (it drains any excess power it can hold) and then try again.

If it still does not move, the transport can be taken on something or something could be taken in this regard. This stall Transport document may help in getting it to move as it will advise where to check for jams/obstructions.

I would like to know how it goes for you

  • OfficeJet Pro 6835: Print head problem

  • HP Officejet Pro L7780 print, copy, Scan, Fax

We used the HP L7780 as a standalone Copier (not connected to a computer or a network).

Here we are ready to give the gift of unity, which still works well, but fear that its internal memory (or hard drive) can store images of copied data from sensitive information.

How can we delete/overwrite this memory without destroying the operating system?

We want the printer/copier to be functional for the new owner.

    Hi TechUserOKC,

If you have not used the printer as a standalone Copier without connection to a computer or a network, then you don't have to worry about the images or the data stored in the device. However, if you sent a fax with this machine there is a chance of fax images could be stored and saved in the internal memory. In this case, you will need to restore the default settings of the printer.

Let us know if that helps.

  • OfficeJet Pro L7780: Printer lost wireless connectivity

The printer (which worked before wireless) has lost the connection to the router (wi - fi) for wireless printing and can not find the router when you run "Wireless Wizard". Have restarted the printer several times, but no chance connection. Summary diagnosis said the network name 'failed '. (I have with other devices wireless connectivity). The Configuration Page shows wireless status is disconnected and shows all zeros for the IP address and the subnet mask.

Need suggestions on what to try next. Thank you.

Turn off the router and back on again was! Printer has now found the router and is wireless printing. Thank you very much!

  • HP officejet pro L7780 printer keeps printing the letter D per page

I erased the spooler, unplugged the USB, off two laptops (WiFi), and the printer still prints D on each page. Have been putting scrap paper through it to see if it will end, but more than 200 prints and he always does.

There is a firmware update, but it will not install with a pending print job, or the message.

    Any advice pleeeeze!  Thank you

OK, I should be more specific.

Go to the Control Panel, select "Administrative Tools".

    Then select 'services '.

    Then select "print spooler".

    Then choose 'stop '.

Restart, the spooler restarted upon reboot. I guess you can restart in this menu as well.

    Good luck

I understand the frustration that this must be for you. Looks like there are two separate issues. When the printer clean print heads and not properly align itself, this indicates that there is a problem with the cartridge, the print head or the line break. For vertical lines, it is usually independent for cartridges and print heads (not being is not a print quality problem). The paper type and print settings might be the problem.

To help determine the cause have you used this document: troubleshoot print quality HP Officejet Pro L7500, L7600, and L7700 all-in-One Printer Series?

Use the document in the order will help you determine if the print heads need to be replaced. If so, please contact HP.

Please confirm that the vertical or horizontal lines?

NOTE: are not replace the cartridges and printheads for vertical streaks in a print. Instead, check the paper as directed earlier in this document, or search for a document that addresses this issue. Vertical streaks on copies can often be fixed by cleaning the scanner glass.

  • SNMP eat upward of bandwidth on my (HP officejet pro L7780) ethernet

Hi all, I am running Win 7 (64-bit) on my server, ethernet to a router from linksys gateway 3000. Attached to the same router the Ethernet is a HP OfficeJet Pro L7780 printer. I have a printer HP Deskjet 6988 ethernet attached to a hub (with a link to my linksys gigabit). There are many other devices Wi-wired and connected to this network. The problem I see is the following: I use a client of Wireshark network sniffer on my server. When you run a trace on the ethernet on the Linksys router, I see a large number of SNMP get requests and get responses. These are still ongoing between my server and the HP Officejet 7780 (never in/from) the HP Deskjet 6988.  This segment of my network is flooded with such things SNMP. You wish to know which packages are and how can I cut most of this. Surely, there must be something in the printer software HP on my server that can be tweaked to eliminate most (if not all) of this SNMP traffic...   Everyone?

You may also lose the ability to check your computer ink levels and some other utilities.  You may re-enable the services when you need to scan.  Stops the service and see what happens!  You can always enable it back.

  • HOW CAN I REPLACE EXPIRED INK CARTRIDGE IN THE PRINTER ALL IN ONE HP OFFICEJET PRO L7780?

HOW CAN I REPLACE EXPIRED INK CARTRIDGE IN THE PRINTER ALL IN ONE HP OFFICEJET PRO L7780?

I DO NOT PRINT A LOT AND I HAVE TWO PRINTERS. THE EXPIRATION DATE ON THE CARTRIDGE, THE PRINTER DOSE NOT LET ME PRINT. I KNOW THAT THERE IS WAY TO OVERRIDE THIS PROBLEM, BECAUSE ON MY PREVIOUS PRINTER THEY REPLACES THE KEY.

The error message itself will remain but will continue to print. This message will remain until the cartridge is replaced. Substitution is the printer printing always regardless of the error message on the display screen.
