Pavilion dv6 3325dx fingerprint reader

I changed the system OP of Win7 Home Premium to Win7 Ultimate 64 on my laptop.

I lost the magnitude of the volume of the screen, the mute button does not illuminate on white, the fingerprint reader does not work.

I checked the troubleshooting system and it seems that everything is fine.

Thanks Erico.

I have futher guestion. The fingerprint reader works already but not light white shot as before. What is the problem? Where can I find software for the balance of volume for the screen?

Thank you very much

Nemo

Try to install the HP SimplePass sotftware.

I'm unable to locate the OSD package that includes the screen volume on among the drivers available on the web portal of support.

  • HP Pavilion dv6 QJ916AAR: fingerprint reader problems

    Hello

This is my first post so I apologize if it appears in the wrong place. I'll have a problem with the fingerprint reader and HP simple pass identity protection software that came with my Dv6-QJ916AAR. For some reason any all of a sudden since this morning it will not work. There is no light on the sensor, and it fails every time and movement. When I run the single pass software and go to the fingerprint section, it shows the fingerprint reader is not connected. Interestingly, when I go to Device Manager I see no biometric devices listed under there. I read on another thread that some options below biometic devices in Device Manager solves the problem.

I already tried pass Simple uninstall/reinstall the Recovery Manager and also uninstalled and updated validity sensor but still no go.  Here are some other details:

    Laptop model: Dv6-QJ916AAR

Operating system: Windows 7 Professional 64-bit

I can't find any other information on how to solve it. Can anyone help?

  • Pavilion DV6-6119wm fingerprint reader problems

For about 2 years, my fingerprint reader did not. I'm looking to sell the laptop and worth almost double with the work fingerprint reader. I updated the BIOS, digital and HP SimplePass fingerprint reader driver. The drive appears in the biometric devices under Device Manager and says it's working properly. When I go to the control panel > biometric devices, it shows as unavailable validity sensor. Seriously, the only thing that I did not until now to get this thing working properly is completely replace the Board of fingerprinting, which I doubt is necessary because it appears in Device Manager. Does anyone have a solution to this problem? The sooner, the better! Thank you!

    Hello @tylernelson224,

I read your post on how you're looking to restore functions to scan fingerprint on your laptop, and I'd be happy to help you in this case!

In order to get your fingerprint in functional order reader, I recommended that you perform a backup and restore of your operating system. This can be done by following this document on the backup of files (Windows 7), and more to perform a recovery of the system HP (Windows 7). This should help get your system back to factory settings. If the problem persists, the fingerprint reader may be damaged.

    I hope this helps!

    Hey Midsyork,

Looks like you run Digital Persona SimplePass flavor.

Two things to try, in order:

    • Hard reset
    • Remove and reinstall the validity sensor driver

    Hard Reset:

Sometimes, all you need to do is the computer suddenly.  This method works for a variety of connection and "glued" program issues.

    • Disconnect all the external devices first.
    • Remove the AC power and battery
    • Press and hold the power button while in the minus 30 seconds
    • Reinstall the power supply for the first start only * see Note
    • Power on - connect
    • Next time you shut down the system, replace the battery.

    * Note: You can ignore the little battery aside.  If you wish, replace the battery the first time and do it with her.

    Check the software...

If it still does not work, go ahead.

    • Control Panel > Device Manager > biometric devices > Validity Sensor > uninstall > delete
    • Reboot ...

    Validity Sensor V2.1.0.2

    • Install the validitysensorDriverinstallationpackage: it if called sp*.exe - the package will be most likely located in the downloads folder.  If you have control of "Admin", you can highlight the package and "double-click on ' to install it, otherwise just right-click, select"Run as Administrator"and install.

This can kick things hard enough to restore the Digital Persona software.  You can hit him harder, but first...

    ======================================================================================

    What about the rest...

You could consider running a full system scan.  I'm a demon for this.  I like a healthy file system.  It cannot solve the problem, but it will ensure that the issue is not a messed up system files, which CAN cause all sorts of unpleasant and troubled issues.  You do not really have to 'look' like a mother hen during analysis, look at the logs or 'DO' something.  He's going to take care of yourself and try to fix what it can.  The only time where that must involve it is things do not go well...  Is there a doc to help at the end to tell you what does this thing.  It is not harmful and, unless your system is broken, and it's going to die anyway, it will only make things better than they are now.

    scannow SFC

Analyze and fix the system.  The sfc/scannow command. who will do - it will scan the operating system, looking for corrupted files and inconsistencies; He will replace or repair everything he can.  If it finds corrupted programs or libraries, it will try to correct them.

    • Start menu > all programs > Accessories > right click on guest > select ' run as administrator'
    • In the command prompt window, type (or copy / paste) sfc/scannow , and then press enter.

(Note the space between sfc and the ' / '.)

The sfc scan will report its findings and you can look at the results:

    • Open an command prompt (it doesn't have to be as an administrator):
    • Use the command copy to create a copy of file readable by the output:

    %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log copy %userprofile%\desktop\cbs.txt

If "scannow" does not properly complete, try running:

    SFC /verifyonly

Copy the results to a text file, extract the output file in Notepad and look for errors that could not fix the full scan.

Help file for the System FIsland Checker command:

The Windows Vista or Windows 7 System File Checker tool

Having a problem with my blu ray/dvd player. It will read the software CD and drives very well, but does not recognize blu ray and dvd. I tried reinstalling the driver, but that solves nothing. Tried to restore my system to a point when he did read those, but it does not, either.

Looks like the drive will need to be replaced. Reason to be after you restored and still the same problem of reading is then laser most likely has it reache use life. Reader of OD aren't so expensive that it just make sure yours is Sata connections and must match any player you just have to remove your plate and put it on the new drive and that will resemble nothing has changed.

  • Pavilion dv6 sd card reader not working not

I searched the advice and have not found an answer to my built in SD card reader does not work anymore.  It worked fine until a few weeks ago. When I go to 'my computer', the sd card do not appears as a disk. I tried several cards with no luck. The cards work fine when I use a USB card reader, just not built in one.

I checked the driver in the device - at least one manager I think is the correct one - Realtek PCIE Card Reader.

Any other ideas? It's a pain to have to carry around an extra card reader. Thanks for the help

    rv9a

    Hello rv9a.

You have an idea about what day it started a few weeks ago?  It is possible that you could restore your computer to a time before that time.  This will help to verify that the problem is hardware related.  If you are restoring, and the problem persists it is likely that the material is in trouble.  One last step to confirm, if you wanted to do, would be to perform a recovery of the HP system in order to resume the laptop to factory conditions.  If the problem persists after the recovery so you can say that it is a hardware problem with 99% certainty.  Just know that you will lose all the data you do not back up before the resumption.  If you perform a system restore, it should not remove your user files (just make sure to save anything on your desktop).

How to perform a restore of the system Microsoft Windows 8.

How to perform a restore of the system Microsoft in Windows 7.

How to run an HP system recovery.

I also took a glance at the page HP part Surfer to your laptop.  This site lists the parts available for the laptop and gives you a good idea what you would be able to replace it yourself.  I don't see the card reader listed here.  This means it will take probably a motherboard replacement to solve the problem.  I doubt that it is worth for you, but if you want to buy the piece on the site.

However, if the laptop is under warranty (check here) I invite you to contact HP Support and inquire about a repair on the computer.  The number for US / Canadian customers is 1-800-474-6836.  If you are in another part of the world, you visit HP's Support around the world to find the coordinates for your region.

If you find these useful information or just want to say thank you, you can click the White Star under my name.  It gives me good and I really appreciate it!

I'll look at the results of these measurements; If you have any questions do not hesitate to ask.  I hope you have an amazing day!

  • My HP DV6 6184 fingerprint reader does not seem to be configured correctly...

I have a new HP DV6 6184 laptop with a fingerpirnt drive... In the Device Manager it is a yellow exclamtion mark next to it and I can't seem to activate either.

    Hello

First, download the driver installation of sensor of validity on the link below and save it in your downloads folder.

    FTP://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp52501-53000/sp52664.exe

Then, open Device Manager, right-click on the entry with the yellow warning triangle and select Properties.  Click the driver tab and then click on uninstall Manager.

Once this done, open your download folder, click with the right button on the installer you downloaded and select "Run as Administrator" to launch the installation - if this is successful, restart the computer again.

    Hello

Recently, after the update to Windows 10 fingerprint reader works just on my Pavilion dv6. I tried to download HP SimplePass (which has been removed from my PC by updating the operating system) in the hope he would get my fingerprint reader to work, but no luck.  I also looked in the settings (in Device Manager) for biomeric devices, and I found a driver with an exclamation point, indicating it wouldn't work.
