• Photosmart 5520 of printing quality

  I recently bought a photosmart 5520. It's my fourth HP printer. So far, I've been more than happy with the HP printers and that's why I've stuck with them.

  I am extremely disappointed by the print quality of the 5520. When you print a document in black Black is almost gray. It just doesn't seem to be enough ink and when printing photo skin tones are not accurate. It seems to be too much red.

  I got a deskjet 2180, which is only a printer not expensive but the quality of the print is much better than the print quality of the 5520.

  I want to know y at - it a setting that I can do to improve the print quality of my 5520 or is it a matter of "what I see, this is what I get.

  I've just set up my new printer wireless to my PC and my ipad with no problems.   I just printed photo of

  both using HP photo paper supplied with the printer, but the quality is terrible!  The ink is running in all directions and

  take ages to dry, the colors are facing eachother, what makes the image completely garbled.  I'm not a fool!, I have

  used various brands of printers over the years and found that the installation of ink cartridges is similar regardless of the brand.

  I checked then double that they are clicked in place firmly.  I followed all of the implementation procedures.

  I'm doing something wrong, or should I just try a different type of photo paper?   Printing simple text on A4 is fine.

• HP Photosmart 5520 - cannot print - using windows 7

  I have a wireless laptop and can go anywhere.  I can print the wireless network test results and Page of Configuration of HP network.   However, I can't print other documents.  My test results all the PASS and signal show as very good.  Current configuration as expected except DO NOT CONNECT Internet.

  I tried various tools and options on the HP Site and others.  I have reistalled printer driver and printer and wireless details says it is connected.  I don't have the ability to use a cable.

  It was suggested to my static ip address, I thought I'd made however on the prints on (and I have a lot in the last hours) the ip adddresses seems inconsistent.  After 5 hours, any help would be greatly appreciated.

  I noticed that you are unable to print with your HP Photosmart 5520, on Windows 7 using a wireless connection. I'm happy to help you with your print!

  Please see the following guides:

  • "Printer is off-line" Message appears on the computer and the printer does not print: Windows 7.
  • The printer keeps Wi-Fi connection.

  Also, I recommend the HP wireless printing Center, Web site. You want to make sure that the router broadcasts not 5 ghz to 2.4 ghz.

  It is possible that a print job waiting in the queue is getting printed whenever you turn on the printer. To do this, please disconnect the printer from the computer.

  1. If the printer is connected by USB cable, simply unplug the USB cable at the end of the printer.

  2. If the printer is connected wireless, disable wireless by following the steps below:

  (a) tap the wireless on the printer control panel.

  (b) select the setting wireless as the 'Off '.

  Now, check if the printer still prints the test pages. Let me know what you find.

  My Photosmart 5520 worked beautifully for centuries, but all of a sudden it is not found on my iPad, iPhone or MacBook Air.  I uninstalled it and I tried to reinstall, but it will not show anywhere.  I use OS X Version 10.9.1 I tried everything I can think of in recent weeks and I'm ready to throw it out the window! (o).

  I have no virus protection to block this and as I said, it worked very well, but he just suddenly stop.  Please can anyone offer any help?

  What router are you using?  You've restarted the router by pulling on its feeder momentarily?

  I had a document that I scanned and I wanted to print it. The original size is 5 X 7 and I want to print at 8 X 10.  He printede very well, but when I printed it he left a border on my the sixe 5 X 7 original work. How can I get rid of this border so I can print borderless on this entire page.  I have change my 8 X 10 printer options, but still the same problem.

  Well Yes.  I highly recommend you uninstall - you don't really need it.  Use its uninstaller in Applications > Symantec.

  The printer can be set to black ink only. The steps are below.

  On Windows: Open the printer software, click on set preferences. On the paper/quality tab, click
  Advanced. Select black ink only in printing in grayscale in the drop-down list under the characteristics of the printer.

  On Mac: In the print dialog box, choose paper Type/quality pane, click Color Options, then
  Choose grayscale in the color dropdown.

  I use Windows 8. When I insert a DL envelope to print (on the side of tray or middle) the printer ejects the non printed envelope and print the address on a sheet of paper A4 below. If I remove the paper it still ejects the envelope unprinted.

  I thought I could fool him by putting a piece of A4 size on top of the envelope.  Then, it prints on A4 paper and ejects to envelope.

  I changed the setting in the printer properties settings of the device in hand tray envelope DL, but it will not print the envelope.
