Photosmart HP 7520: scan hp connects to the scanner

I have a new MacBook Pro that came with installed Yosemite.  I think that HP Scan frequently does not connect to my scanner HP Photosmart 7529 using my wifi.  I get an error indicating that the scanner... is currently unavailable.  I called the service of HP and their only solution was to do the following in order: 1. turn off the router, 2 disable the 7520, 3 put the router 4 switch 7520.  Now, it works but it happens regularly and frankly is quite a pain and I'm sure is not how it is supposed to work.

The scanner worked well with my previous MacBook Pro (OSX Lion).  The scanner also works through preferences, but that method has very limited functionality.  How can I get this problem?

  • Photosmart HP 7520: Scan lost PC connection

My HP Pavilion is connected to my 2.4 Ghz wireless network, as is my printer.  When you try a scan PC for my printer, I see the message "no computer."  This just started a few days ago. If I scan to email, it works fine. The printer, I reset the IP address and the password.  The computer prints to the printer via the wireless network. In addition, a laptop in another room remotely connects and prints well. I ran two times printing and scanning doctor.  Both times he concludes that the connection is good. Yet, no scanning of the printer.  The box in the toolbar at the bottom of the PC continues to say "Scan of the computer is currently unavailable.  From there I try enable and check the autostart box, but no change. I also downloaded the latest version of the software updated 12/15 no change. However, I found that if I use the HP Scan application on my PC now I have added to my office, it works very well (to the PC).  It's a little more "awkward", but it does the job. I'd rather eat the scan from the printer.  It was quicker and easier. Does anyone know why the printer is unable to 'see' the PC while it is connected to the network and all the functions the scanning started work on PC?

Hi @Javaunoand welcome to the Forums of HP, as you know it is a good place to ask for assistance from members of the community! I'd love to help you with your Photosmart 7520. If I understand your description you can scan when you start scanning from the printer software, but when you try to scan from the front of the printer, the analysis did not make for a lack of connectivity.

Be able to scan from the computer leads me to believe that the connectivity is not the root cause of the problem. However, I found something that might help.

  • HP Photosmart 7520 fails to connect to the WLAN after deactivation/activation

    Nice day

I use HP Photosmart 7520 with wireless connection.

I can print for the first time when the printer connects to the WIFI, but when I turn the printer off and turn it back on, the printer is no longer on the WLAN.

The screen and print network report says that everything is OK - signal strength is good, he is connected, IP address correct, gateway IP ok, everything is correct and very well - but the printer IS NOT on the WLAN. I have used several analytical tools and I did 'ping' and the prnter is not there.

There is a big BUG! How can I solve this problem?

    Thank you

PS: If I want the printer to work again, I have to manually reconnect again to the WLAN

Since the other topic of forum is very polluted, I paste here the relevant solution

Left and right of the screen are a House (upper-left), back (lower-left) and a cancellation (bottom right, it's a red X) buttons.  You may need to use a flashlight to see them because probably they are not lit.

    • -Keys in the original sequence (top left), back (lower left), cancel (bottom right), back (lower-left).  This should bring up the menu engineering.
    • In this menu select Menu Underware.  You will see a display similar to the arrows for a TV remote control (up, left, right, down, arrows with an OK button in the middle).
    • Use the arrow key to the right and go into the system menu (the menu names are displayed in the upper left corner).  Press OK
    • Use the arrow key to the left and go to the system mode timeout.  Press OK
    • Use the down arrow key to set the timeout to 0.  Press OK.
    • Exit by pushing cancel (bright red x in the lower right corner) until you have returned to the home screen.

You can avoid the printer to go into mode 'sleep' and then lose connection. As a consequence will increase energy consumption.

  • HP Photosmart B110: Solutions Center installs - problems of usb - only wanted to scan - how to install the scanner part

-With the help of HP Photosmart B110

-Use of Tower/Desktop computer running Windows 7 64 bit

Printer/Scanner connected via WiFi to router

-Printer part works, I can print to this device

-Scanner is accessible via the device Web page.

I want the software of the scanner Solutions Center.

I can't install the Solutions Center on Windows 7 64 bit. Setup stops and says that I have USB hardware and driver problems. USB on my Tower is USB2 and USB3 ports. Everything works perfectly and the Windows Device Manager has no problem with USB drivers/devices.

How can I install the scanner software (or all of the Solutions Center software)?

Tried to look in the folder for the files of instsaller scanner, nothing seems to work. (pulled other positions where it not install Solutions Center). Computer is working very well, so my only option at the moment is to look through the device's Web page, but it is not the best. And I would like to use the software. Also one third of the software "fax and scan" software and windows does not see the connected B110 (probably because it is on a network and not directly plugged into a usb port), so these two options came out.

HP forum, help please. Is there a way to bypass the usb part? I use this device on a network. Windows 7 sees (even if only as a printer), so also want windows to consider it as a scanner as well.

    Thank you

    Hi @jedi11csa,

Thank you very much to get back again.

I just talked with a few colleagues in this regard, and this problem seems to be more a matter of Windows operating system, if the computer displays that USB related errors as well as the installation had not yet reached the point where it asks you to select your connection type.

Maybe it's an investigation that is best suited for community Microsoft Forums as my resources have been exhausted in this respect.

I hope that you are able to find the solution you need.

    Thank you.

  • Photosmart HP 5510: printer not connected to the network, although it

    Hi people,

I am at my wits end with this and you are my only hope (what Star Wars quote).

I have a HP Photosmart 5510, I've had around 2011.  I've always used it in the company of my iMac (OS X now on El Capitan). Over the last year or two, there was the strange number to which case when I open the HP utility on my iMac it says it is not able to connect to the printer and I should check that it is switched on (this is before you ask). This question seemed to resolve itself after a short while and there was no problem.

However, I came to analyze some elements of the other day, and this same old issue again raised his head. I put my paper on the scanner and press the option scan only for the printer to tell me that there is no connected computer. Weird, I thought I had printed only some points the day before. I went to my iMac and open the HP utility to see my former favorite message that the printer was not plugged in blah blah.

I went on HP website to see if there were new pilots required, which it was not (the last was for OSX Yosemitie!).

I decided to try and start fees and remove the printer and re - add new. I deleted the printer, downloaded the latest HP deriver (just in case) and that's where everything went wrong.

Software downloads, all right, it starts going through the installation process, end, then he gets to the selection of the device, issue. It evokes three devices that are my one and only printer (Strange I thought). Two with the "connection type" listed as Hello and the other with the connection type is listed as IP. I tried selecting each of these only for each of them to come back with the following error message:

"YEAR error occurred while the communications device." Please make sure that the device is ready and try again." Well, if they hear by loan, circuit implementation, its connected to my network then YES ITS BLOODY LOAN! So I get no more on the process by the printer and HP Utility installation is nothing else than a large black plastic paper weight. I tried to reconnect my printer to my network wifi several times and everything is fine, its connected and there is no problems according to the page of "wireless network test results" print.

What the hell is happening? Any ideas? Please save me before I throw this thing by the highest window that I can find.

I'm not a computer expert and I'm certainly not a network specialist. All the advice is appreciated greatly and fortunately.

    Hey @Mvdarbs,

Welcome to the Forum from HP Support. We're here for another help to get the most out of our products.

Thank you for your message. I see that you experience the Mac-to-printer communication problems when you use the HP Photosmart e-All-in-one 5510 printer. All this happens despite your apparent WiFi connection. While it is no doubt frustrating to live when all you want to do is print, there are solutions that you can try and I hope that they will restore the regular feature.

I recommend you try the following steps:

    (1) we will start over with the installation of your network printer. From the control panel press the wireless icon, and then select "Restore network Defaults."

    2) façade, run the "Wireless Setup Assistant." Reconnect to your home network and then make a note of the IP address.

    3) visit the printer embedded web server (EWS): this is done by entering the IP address of the printer in the address bar of the web browser and navigating to this address. If you have a security alert (as this page is not encrypted), click on to "Go forward anyway." If the page loads correctly, we can be certain that the network connection is real. While you're there, make a note of any error messages or status alerts (if you see it, it's all good) and don't forget to advise me on what you see.

    4) remove the printer from your Mac. If you are not sure how, refer to the

    guide for advice.

one) (optional)-set a static IP address for your printer. Refer to this thread of @PrintDoc here: http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Printers-Archive-Read-Only/changing-IP-address-for-wireless-printer/td-p/445087 for instructions on how to do it.

    5) reinstall your printer: click here and install the driver that you are prompted.

Please let me know the result of your troubleshooting by responding to this post. Don't forget to come back to this thread and check "Accept as Solution", if I have successfully helped solve you the problem. If you want to say 'Thank you' to my effort to help, click on the "thumbs up" to give me a Kudos.

    See you soon,.

  • HP 7520: HP 7520 will not connect to the wireless network

There is some additional information to

    http://forums.Xfinity.com/T5/home-networking-router-WiFi/HP-7520-will-not-connect-to-wireless-networ...

    on this issue.

Have several APs for a single wireless network allows the printer foolish law.  (Not a Repeater, a second AP connected to the local network with the same configuration of network for security, etc.).

I solved this problem.  In accordance with the discussion on the link, the problem is that the printer cannot connect to a wireless network if there is greater than 1 for a wireless network (SSID) name wireless access point.

This thread has had several useful suggestions, but what finally solved the problem, it's the second point has access to a mode where I can create a 'virtual' access point and, above all, a SSID associated.

Note that not all access points or routers support virtual APs, but this function seems to be more common over time.  Older models is not able to do that.  However, a new access point is sometimes cheaper than a new printer.

If you do not understand the jargon in the procedure below, I recommend that you find someone who does, then they can do it for you.

    Solution:

    1. On one of the wireless access on the network, create an a new virtual AP with a slightly different name SSID (for example < name of the network - > _1), on the same VLAN (usually VLAN 1).  You may need to put the AP in "multiple AP mode" or something similar, and then restart the AP.  All other settings (DHCP, security, mixed mode b/g/n, etc.) must be the same for the new SSID.
    2. Run the printer Wireless Setup and connect it to this new SSID
    3. Confirm that the printer can be seen by other devices on the network

    Tips:

    • Check the security is the same as the original SSID, Alternatively you can create a vector of insecurity in your network.  Do not WEP-128 when the other SSID uses WPA2 AES, for example.
    • The AP I had had several resets to make it work because of the mode and parameter changes.
    • If you connect the SSID but cannot connect to or be seen by anything on your network, check the new SSID/AP is in the same VLAN as the original.
    • Because the printer is not roaming, and the speed is not a problem for me, I used the access point that could support this solution, which is deeper and slower than my primary AP.  I have not noticed any problems.

The printer has been reliable on the wireless now on the new SSID, 48 hours.

I have not upgraded any software on a client of the printer (PC, Mac, phones).

I think that it is a positive confirmation that the problem is with the implementation of the printer of the stack of network and not with the driver or client software on remote devices.  The 802.11 protocols provide for a network name (SSID) wireless with several access points using different MAC addresses.  I suggest this HP look into this as a potential bug with their network printer for the 7520 protocols stack.

I went to this subject through different programs, but nothing seems to work. I also tried to download the latest driver for the printer, but the scanner will not be displayed.

    Hi drandersen,

There should be an icon on your desktop that say Solution Center, you must also have an icon that looks like a scanner on your desktop. If you click the scan icon can scan you successfully a document to your computer?

HP has designed a quick and easy tool that diagnoses and solves many problems of printing, scanning and connectivity: The HP Print and Scan doctor. HP recommend you to download and install Print and scan doctor no matter what time you need to solve a problem with your HP printer from the link below.
