Quality/speed intermittent wireless

My HP DV7 laptop 6101sa has recently undergone some hardware issues. Wireless - Broadcom 4313 802.11b/g/n adapter all the minutes, or even seconds, my internet connection slows to a crawl and stops for 10 seconds. I can't browse the internet pages and playing video games online leads me to have a very high ping. I have 3 partitions of Windows 7, all on separate partitions, and they all suffer from this problem, this problem must therefore be a hardware failure. I took action: reboot several times turn wireless adapter Reinstall driver my laptop overheat recently (an error on my part), I was wondering if this could be any cause, but I can't say exactly when this problem occurred. I have some ideas on what to do now. Help, please!

Hi Paul, I failed to mention that this problem occurs only on my laptop, my phone and Tablet perfectly connecting to the router. However a few moments ago, I did the simple thing that I never thought, I pulled the Wifi adapter inside and the laptop and put it again. Presto! It works perfectly again. Thanks for your help,-Kevin

• T400 problem with slow speed internet wireless. Help, please

Hello

Just got my new T400 (276581U) and I am very happy with it. However, he has a problem. I searched extensively in this area and other forums, but have not found the solution. So any input or help would be greatly appreciated.

Problem:
upload and download speed is very slow when connected to wireless broadband. Measures download speed 1 Mbit/s on www.speedtest.net, while two other computers (XP and Vista) reach speeds 6 Mbit/s on the same network wireless download.

I tested the computer via LAN and here it downloads at normal speed of 6 Mbps.

OS: Windows 7
Network cards:
Intel 82567LF Gigabit network connection (driver version: 10.1.6.0)
Intel Wifi Link 5100 AGN (driver version: 13.0.0.107)

I have download all the latest drivers on the Lenovo support site. The pilot Gigabit Network Connection, I downloaded however Intel, as there is no driver windows 7 on Lenovo website. The Intel driver has improved my connection to the local network (before that I could not download the full site content) and it has not changed my connection Wireless for the better or worse.

Wireless configuration:
Wireless g connected to the modem access point high speed
So, to access internet, I need to connect twice, first the access point, and then click the modem to broadband. This configuration works on two other computers in the House. The lenovo is however not seem to recognize that I am online, even when I am. The symbol "not connected" is always displayed in the toolbar, and diagnostic tests tell me that I'm not online. That might relate to the problem.

Thanks for reading this. I hope that some kind soul can help.

• Speed EA4200 wireless problems

Hello

I just bought the EA4200, and I find that the speed wireless connection failed. I'm not a superwiz to computers and especially not as routers, but I do know most of the basics and how to interact with routers, etc.

in any case, when I test my connection via an Ethernet cable via the router that I get about 90 m/bits-per-second download, but when I connect with my WIFI this speed is only about 11 m/bits per second. I tried with several units (2 PC and Playstation 3) in my house and the same result, even if the download speed varies somewhat (8-11 m/bits where I with Ethernet to move 30 m/bit)

Now... I live in an apartment with tons of networks around me, I have more conscience puts a limit on this, but come on? Can it really be true that it's all EA can muster? I thought the dualband was supposed to be the best? What I don't use? What can I do?

I tried to turn off the channels 2.4 Ghz, which is just the single 5 GHz to the active channel. This resulted in most of my wireless devices cannot connect wirelessly at all. I turned it back on. I did a few google searches, but to no avail. What do you suggest to me that I do? My old Netgear router and not dualband, did a better job?

Thanks in advance for your answers

You'll have a problem with a lot of AP autour 2.4 that is for sure. However, make sure that you use WPA2-AES encryption. Check if WMM is it on or off, test both on and then off.

Oh, you realize that you need an adapter dual-band capable of 802.11 a/b/g/n to connect to the 5 GHz band?

• E1200 low speed wired & wireless through L2TP

I have the L2TP connection. Without the router, just cable, I have 35 MB/s download and 70 Mbit/s upload.

Through the E1200 wired & wireless, I get a huge download speed 5-14 Mbps.

I have the latest firmware and I reset it after the update.

I read a lot of information about it and a lot of people write that this router just can't handle the gear through L2TP.

Is this true? It could be fixed?

If you get only 5-14Mbps download speed via the router, which is so far beyond the rate without it, I must say that the router has problems. You can try to lower the MTU settings to 1460, and then do the test using speedtest.net.If that does not solve the problem, I suggest getting a new router, preferably a one gigabit.

• Bad speed of wireless internet on EA4500

Hello everyone. I have an ea4500 wireless router, I tested the speed at speedtest.net and wireless, I get around 9 Mbit/s. My speed is 23 MB/s when I hard wired the pc.

I check the speed on a Tablet (), pc and a mac about 5 feet away from the router with no walls or something between the two devices.

I checked all the settings, but I don't see anything wrong, I've changed to N mode just to make sure that I use the top speed.

All my devices are able to use N.

My experience on this is not good and that's why I ask your help, thanks a lot.

Redefine the Mode Wireless on joint. 2.4 GHz settings, change the width of the channel to 20 MHz only and select a specific channel. Recommended channel would be 1, 6 or 11. Download inSSIDer to find out which channel is not too crowded. Follow the link provided by jlbjlb.

Another thing that could affect the wireless connection is the location of the router. Make sure that it is on an open and superior location. Make sure it is not next to a metal object or other device which transmits/receives/frequency of the wireless signal. Also, make sure that it is not too close to your modem.

• Intermittent wireless

I just installed the E2500 think my old router was the problem and still have intermittent problems with wireless connectivity. I always excellent (all bars) of the signal, but internet access come and go, even though my wired connection to the same router is good. I have check the connectivity with the network and sharing Center in the tool bar. I have the same problem with my Dell laptop, my Cisco bridge used with my BluRay and my wife IPhone and IpPad. Comcast said that their monitor shows no loss of service in the last days, when I had connectivity problems. Any ideas?

Update:

I gave up and paid $40 + $6 / mo for Comcast wireless phone support. Very useful, but they could not also support the bridge wireless for my BluRay. And they had my printer on the network to start. He took my screen and made the appropriate changes in the settings through Cisco Connect. The problem comes from my MS Vista operating system. He plays well with the system of encryption used for the wireless. XP and Win 7 is ok. They have intensified the wepa to WEP that intends to change the security system. Seems to work now. Hooray. With less encryption setting is slower, 54 Mbps, rather the 144 I see me before then it worked. Much better than zero.

• Intermittent wireless on T42

I've been running my wireless for several years now on my Type T42 2378 RGU, when a few weeks ago I got the message of type 'no wireless networks detected. By the process of elimination, I have determined that the likely culprit was my wireless card, an Intel® PRO/Wireless 2915ABG network adapter. I got the FRU number (FRU 27K 9936) and ordered a replacement, which I installed 2 days ago. Started back to the top and still "found a wireless network. I turned off the computer and came back the next day. He works from a cold start, and worked the wireless! Hooray! But spoke to soon. Later in the afternoon, I went, and it was back to "no wireless found" while at the same time my T61 just sitting beside her worked very well on the wireless. the only thing I can guess is that there is a loose somewhere, fitting that I had turned my laptop upside down yesterday to replace the screw on the side of the touchpad of the computer. It was shortly after this time that the wireless doesn't work anymore. I left the laptop on it overnight, and today when I logged in, the wireless was working again!

So I think I need to find the most likely for an intermittent connection. Any ideas? Where is the antenna located on the T42? Or anything else that could be causing this? I am running Windows XP Pro sp3.

Thank you!

A way of to detrmine for sure if it's a hardware or a software problem would be to boot from a Linux CD "live."

If your wireless network is running Linux, there is a driver/software XP problem.

If it isn't, we start to look at the hardware...

My suggestion - because I know that it works out of the box on T4x machines:

• slow down the speed of wireless download

I currently have a download speed of less than a half a meg. It belonged to 15mgs. I have a laptop Dell Wireless. I checked for the virus/worms/etc, no.
My OS is win7. The issue is new, and I can't locate the problem. It works as well, because I bought the PC in December 2010.

I ran a diagnostic report and it indicates a problem with the connection to my (DNS) domain network framework... I have Comcast in Jacksonville, Florida. I don't know how to set the DNS from my PC.

What I don't understand is, that my download speed is less than a meg, my download speed is 4mgs +...

Can someone please help? If you can help, please explain how, as if speaking to a complete novice.

Thank you

Raven

Hello

Make sure that the adapter is configured to obtain DNS automatically in its properties.
Unplug the modem and router (if separate) at least 30 seconds, and then reconnect the devices back in and run ipconfig enough and then ipconfig / renew from a high command prompt to refresh the network connection.
After that, test if the network speed, improve and so always get the DNS error, run ipconfig and paste back what he says.
• Low speed on Wireless N

I'm trying to implement a DV6 on Wireless N. I have a Linksys WRT160N router and get speeds up to 120mbps on a desktop wireless located near 100 feet from the router. I can not get over 54 Mbps on the laptop, even within 10 feet. I checked the properties of the device and verified that the width of the channel is set to AUTO and 802.11n Mode is ENABLED. I noticed the rest of my system below specs. Any help would be appreciated.

LAPTOP MODEL: HP DV6

Operating systems: Windows 7 (64-bit)

RAM: 4 GB

WiFi ADAPTER: Intel WiFi Link 1000 BGN

PILOT: 13.0.0.107

ROUTER: Linksys WRT160N

FIRMWARE: 3.0.02

After much research, I believe I have solved the problems with the Wireless N of low speeds, especially with Intel WiFi Link 1000 BGN configurations. Here's what I could learn from Intel support forums.

"The IEEE * 802.11n draft prohibits using high throughput with WEP or TKIP as the unicast encryption algorithm." If you use these methods of encryption (WEP, WPA-TKIP), your rate will be reduced to 54 Mbit / s. Intel® WiMAX/WiFi Link 5350, Intel® WiMAX/WiFi Link 5150, Intel® WiFi Link 5300, Intel® WiFi Link 5100, Intel® WiFi Link 1000, and Intel® Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN client drivers connect using a legacy IEEE 802.11 g connection rather than failing to connect altogether which complies with the IEEE 802.11n draft standard. "This means that you must use a connection Wi - Fi Protected Access * (WPA2-AES or WPA2-TKIP).

I have reset the wireless security on my router to use WPA2-AES, reconfigured my laptop for the same security settings and options was immediately connected to more than 200 Mbit/s.
