RAM test

I have trouble with my RAM. I usually have 24 GB on a tube length that a + b. Riser showed that all locations are empty - so I got only 12 GB right now. I know that some of the RAM that is shown empty works (tested on Riser B). I ran the Rember program to test the RAM, but it seems that it has only been tested the RAM that was shown on Riser B - so not the RAM on extension. Can anyone suggest what to do how to know which RAM actually does not work on A Riser.

The FBDIMM in these Macs get hot and die.

The Mac pro with Xeon processor has hardware error correction. The Error Correction Code DIMM carry 8 extra bits that hold an extra bits of 8 syndrome - parity on every other bit combinations.

When occurs a mono error bit in a Word, that Word is replaced by Hardware on-the-fly, in tense a MEMORY cycle.

Benarde errors are designed to put an end to your Mac on a panic machine check, core, to prevent the poisoning of your data.

At startup, error correction logic is used aggressively during the Power-On Self Test. All modules that produce errors in these seconds of testing are BAD, and your Mac says those empty slots and will not use them.

The next time that your Mac starts up, it will test their new. Passing the test this time simply means that you have yourself fooled - the modules are always BAD and should be deleted. If they have stickers to the seller on them, many providers will replace them, like-for-like.

Test as Rember don't generally use the hardware error correction. Mistakes single-bit are corrected by the hardware, so they will always pass.

How does something like this happen?
After RAM upgrade boot is actually not different as before. Portable operations are faster.

Can you please tell us which module RAM do you have used for the upgrade?
I checked the laptop computer's specification and memory modules compatible RAM for your Satellite A110 are:

  • BIOME-1 error when you run the diagnostic material for RAM test

In recent months I've known several blue screen errors during startup. Initailly, initially, I thought that maybe it's a hardware error, but after running Diagnostics of material (press F9 to start) and have all the tests passed so I assumed it was a software problem, I focused my attention on that. However, today, I started to run hardware diagnostics and I discovered that I had a RAM issue with the BIOME-1 error code. Is it possible that the hardware diagnostics can not full capture errors and that a RAM issue was first the cause of blue screen errors?

I called HP support and they sent an engineer to the bottom. After you open the computer case, the cause of the problem has been established as a RAM module that was not properly secured. After getting the RAM module, the blue screen errors did not reappear again. The engineer also ran some tests and confirmed that everything was fine.

If you are using Windows 7, you can run "Memory diagnostic tool"

  • Upgrading RAM gives the Blue error screen.

Well the upgrade: 256 MB to 2 GB will show a big improvement in overall

applications. However, ram stick must be installed either with 1 or 2 faces

chips on the module, mixing them creates incompatibility. If all have the same

type, and then mix them up is fine, old and new, is not serious. However, the different

sticks of size according to the Board of Directors (256 MB for slot 3 & 4, 1 GB for 1 & 2), some old maps

    requires it for optimal performance...

If above is true, then install ram sticks 1 at a time, may be running microsoft ram Tester

  • restore the firmware for macbook pro 13 mid 2009

Hi all! This is my first time using the support community so forgive me for any rudeness and English summary.

I recently bought a used mid 2009 macbook pro 13 "with no disc on this subject, I installed a new empty 120 GB ssd drive.

I asked a friend and he has downloaded and made me a usb bootable with osx on it (lion). I instaled the osx and got the macbook running successfully and it was perfect.

I decide to update and went up el capitan wich sucessfully installed. After the update I tried it out, web navigation simple, when suddenly, out of nowhere the mac stop (much battery left and the led indicator to confirm) and has not started since... when I turn it on the led light flashes and it gives the s.o.s. beep (3 short beeps followed by 3 long beeps and then 3 short beeps) the optical drive made his usual looking noises of boot and the fan continues to spinning, I tried to remove the battery 10 minutes several times and nothing... I read a lot about the problems of ram tested with one stick at a time in the two slots and no improvement... bought a new pair of hynix 2 gb 1066 mhz pc3-8500 ddr3 sticks as recommended for this model and replaced the "old"... did nothing.

I have no original discs just the macbook itself and the charger. Also tried to boot from the usb drive... not good... tried to start mode revovery... nothing that the black screen and a beep sounds.

I did some research and read a looooot online and in discussions such as this apple and found it to be the sound warning for bad/corrupted efi rom (as opposed to the majority of people declaring it to be a ram issue) which needs to be restored or flashed... However, apple does not provide or at least I can't find a picture of recovery for my model cd special I know it's the macbook 5.1 (a1278 / emc2254). Is there any solution for this? Please help in some way that you can welcome suggestions!

    Thank you

  • kernel [0]: disk0s2: i/o error and AHT freeze on 27 "iMac

    Hi all

According to the title, I have serious problems with my iMac 27 "with El Capitan.

It started all of a sudden with wheel rotation in a way that I am still unable to reproduce.

I have not installed anything again for weeks. Enough I traveled a lot for business, so my iMac has been mostly off.

The logs show a recurring kernel [0]: disk0s2: i/o error.

Initially, I tried a repair disk that consistently failed, so I tried AHT, once to short and long.

They both finished in a gel semi then very close to completion.

I'm talking about gel semi as mouse reacted but with seconds behind and jerks and stop button has not actually no result so he needed a hard stop.

I also tried to leave the long test running overnight to prevent my impatience for her give up too soon.

The next day, I found it hung there, very close to realization.

Not sure if it's relevant information, but the only way to get my iMac on the way of the AHT was pressing command + D and the iMac sarched necessary information on the net.

THE D only has not given any results.

I decided to enter recovery mode, format and reinstall El Capitan.

Everything went well and that the system worked very well.
I opened Safari and scoured Internet. Everything seemed very well answered.

Then I turned off the system as another business trip is expected.

3 days later, I rebooted my machine and still ONCE, spinning drying up and disk0s2: error e/s in the newspapers.

Repair disk fills very well this time (Foundation nothing to fix) but same thing AHT: semi freezes almost to the end.

As a bonus, I now get a system that is very slow to restart: it takes 10 minutes to show me the office and there is in fact the largest part of 10 minutes for the gray Apple with a progress bar that seems to never end.

Then at some point it ends and I can connect, but connection takes at least 2 minutes.

Saw that AHT is a RAM test and a test of logic board before freezing, but I don't know when exactly it freezes because it does not end and I have no error reported trials.

Now, the question is: are these symptoms more of a HARD drive or a logic board failure?

I apologize in advance for my mistakes and spelling errors, it should be obvious English is not my main language.

    Thank you very much.

Probably a fault bad cable/connection between the logic and HARD drive, hard drive external pension, pension bad logic in that order.

Make an appointment with a genius at your nearest Apple Store. Diagnosis is free and they'll give you a quote for repair.

If you are on a budget to replace a HARD drive in an iMac is pretty simple DIY job provided you watch YouTube videos and get the right tools.

I thought it was a problem of overheating, so I cleaned the fan but with not a lot of dust!
But it was not the problem crearly because I tested it!
Now I think that this could be a GPU problem, but I don't know about you!

Any suggestions that he could be and how o solve this problem? Thank you!

    Hello

It may be RAM problem, it may be a motherboard problem, it can also be a problem of CPU or GPU.
    Any party may be affected.
    So what to do?

You can see the part as RAM. You could buy new Rams tested and could replace it but what happens if you buy new RAM modules, replace it and laptop will NOT turn on?
You would spend the money for the new RAM but eventually the other party could be faulty

So I think that a professional technician must check the unit first.
Guys could give you an answer as to the defective part and then you could decide what to do
    You know what I mean?

  • Tecra A7 PTA71E - Win XP BSOD

    Hello

Since 2007, I have my Tecra. I bought it with win XP. Until the middle of 2011 OS works OK, but not later.

When I turned toward the top of the computer, it starts and when the Office was running, I just started with the trackpad or USB mouse on any item on the desktop, but he could not close more. I could only use of the keyboard and the selection of logoff windows blue screen n to log in again.

From that moment, I could turn on or off each application or component on the desktop.
    The problem with Windows XP.

Unfortunately, after replacing the windows 7 32 bit with a previous disk formatting problem remained.

Now, do not turn off your single computer switch to hibernation. Each full stop ends the same, and I have to log off and log in. Mouse USB and touch pad work the same way. It makes no difference if the mouse is connected or not.

    Hello

It seems that the problem of equipment.
I came to this conclusion because the installation of the new operating system (Win 7) has not helped to solve this problem.
So I think that you agree with me.

What part of the material could be affected?
Well, I think that some common parts such as RAM or HARD disk should be tested.
    How?

Well, the HARD disk might be tested using some freeware like Drive Fitness Test Tools.

Software RAM tests are not really useful, and I believe that laptop must be tested using new modules of good work.
But of course it s just a guess on my part

If you put t want money spent on the new RAM modules to check if its ok or not, consult a technician who could do it for you.

  • The subsequent update (10.11.4) kernel panic

After the installation of 11.4, I got a kernel panic in the very early phase of startup. Recovery disc reinstall OS X did not help. Secure boot has failed. No newspaper that I could find. I went back to 11.3 from a backup, but is there any thought on how to diagnose / troubleshoot? I have tried disk first aid, nothing helps.

It is a Mac Pro mid-2010 system, using an SSD for boot and a physical backup drive, both encrypted. 11.4 does not, because of 11.3. No problem for RAM (use a RAM tester). Everything tests OK.

Send a copy of the kernel image.

  • Satellite A660 - 10 X - freezes several times

    Hello

A few months ago I bought the Satellite A660-10 x. On installed original system it freezes once (I used laptop maybe an hour) but I thought it was an accident, or maybe something was misconfigured. Then I installed the clear disk from Microsoft (Windows 7 Home Premium) system and install only the necessary drivers, but the problem from happening again. At first I thought as this only, when I don't click or move the mouse for over 1 minute, but that for now the problem appears also when I click or write something. I very rarely use this laptop, but as you can imagine it is very annoying and it is that I can not trust this laptop computer and the data on it. Maybe you know what are the causes of the problem or maybe some new drivers have been released to remove this problem?

I read that not only I have the same problem.

    Hello

You are using the latest driver for the Toshiba page graphics card?
    Please do

In addition, you can run some RAM tests using the free tools like memtest86 + or similar.

  • Satellite Pro 4600 very unstable and BSOD

    Hello

I have a Satellite Pro 4600 c750/128 with xp installed.
It was ok, but slow, so I've updated at 500 MB of memory.

He now became unstable under windows and throw a screen blue after awhile, which is a related, but firm and we will restart until I have a chance to read the error message.

I tested the new memory from one day to the next with memtest and run 4 passes all tests without error, about 9 hours of operation (on the back).

The event log indicates a discharge, but this does not mean a lot to me.
The event log has an error during startup, what was there before the memory upgrade.
Googling Sugest a fix to update the bios, it's always available for this laptop bios?

The BIOS should be available for this former Satellite Pro 4600.
The BIOS and drivers must be placed on the page of European driver of Toshiba.
Here, you will need to search the Archives!

But I doubt that the error is caused by the BIOS.
Is the laptop ran stable also with the previous BIOS and it foolish to update the BIOS to fix this problem.
I'm sure it won't change anything!

Upgrade the RAM and BSOD appears now.
I think that the problem is related to the RAM, even if the ram test didn't find any errors
The RAM may be not compatible also if no error has been detected.

I recommend that you test the laptop without the new RAM and check if the BSOD will appear again.

I can't say for sure why this BSOD error pops up, but according to Microsoft knowledgebase article the question of the DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION occurs when the DPC routines one or several drivers exceed the CPD Watchdog time-out.

    Purge details mention igdkmd64.sys file.
As far as I know that the gdkmd64.sys could be the Intel Graphics driver.

Probably the Intel driver causes this problem.
It could also be the processor that supports the graphics unit causes this problem.

Sorry, but all the pieces of equipment must be checked to provide detailed diagnosis.

Can someone point me in a direction where I can start looking?

    Hello

Beep codes usually occur if the motherboard does not work correctly or if there are some problems.
In most cases, a beep is displayed if the motherboard is ok and the MESSAGE could be passed correctly.

But if there's some beep codes at the beginning of the boot order, then this would mean that an error has been detected.

See this page for more details on the different beep codes:
