  After several research reading etc in this forum and on the pages of Toshiba-Novell-Linux groups here in my country (Netherlands) I only found something on which distro is capable with my L20-155.
  My wish is to install an Os (Suse 10.1) and say a well-intentioned through window$ for the last years.
  Are there members with experience and/or good recommendation?

  I recently bought a toshiba l20-155, when I attach to my TV, I get no image on my screen.
  When I choose in windows xp to enlarge my desktop computer for a second monitor, I still don't see anything on my television.
  also I checked on the ATI website for the latest drivers and I checked the s-video cable and my television channel.

  If your laptop computer is properly connected to the TV using just the FN + F5 key combination to switch to the TV. Also check that your TV S-video port is enabled.

  You don? t need all the drivers because preinstalled driver is already tested with TV and there everything is OK.

  I recently bought the laptop above and could not be happier, bar one exception, every time I try to play a game (what happened with all the games I've tried) the machine stops after a random amount of time, whether it's 5 minutes or an hour.

  After reading the manual I first thought it was a problem, but after cutting all the settings at least I always get the same heating problem. I tried to update the bios and the graphics card, but the problem persists, any advice would be greatly appreciated.

  Usually, if the function FN + F10 or FN + F11 is enabled if the function FN key are locked and you can use the small gray panels on the keys without pressing the FN key.
  In this case, please check if you can disable it.

• Power supply does not work on Satellite L20-155

  When I insert the power chords in my laptop, it won't charge batteries. The light, which should be on when the powersuply is inserted, would light up.

  At first, I had to turn the cable some, in order to leave work, but since today it does even more.

  If the laptop is 6 months old the warranty is still valid. Contact service partner in your country. They will test adapter and if defective you will get a new. Do not buy anything.

  You have answered your question yourself;
  It s a 15 screen and generally all 15 screens must be compatible.

  By the way; such screen cost a small fortune; the TFT screen is one of the parts expensive notebooks. I recommend looking for some of the second hand.

  But if you want to buy a new, then you can also order the ASP in your country.

• How to create a backup for Satellite L20-100?

  My Satellite L20-100 crashed & it took me 24 hours to recover (using the provided factory product recovery CD) & for reinstalling other software & updates.

  Now I'm afraid, it may crash again & I have 11 GB of software. I had a function on my Windows XP console start > programs > Accessories > system tools > create backup disk (or recovery) before it crashed, but it is no longer present.

  ANY THOUGHTS? URGENT PLEASE!

  I recommend you to use a very good third party software called NORTON GHOST. I use it for a year. You can create own recovery DVDs and use any time when there is a problem.

  I do the same thing. This created individual image is recorded on the partition d. If I want to have the new facility that I simply start GHOST and the partition c is crushed.

  I have a very annoying problem: when I use audio-cd, my Satellite tends to crash with a blue screen. When it crashes, blue screen, scrolls and immediately a black screen and a restart follows.

  It is probably a driver problem, because I have three audioprograms installed (Windows Media player, Sonic Stage MiniDisc and I-tunes).

  Hi Klaas,

  It would be useful to know what the error message is when you get the blue screen. I suggest that you disable the restart automatic installation so that your laptop stops on the blue screen and you can read the error.

  To disable the auto restart: -.

  1. right click on 'My computer' icon and then click on "Properties".
  2. click on the "Advanced" tab
  3. click on 'Settings' in the section starting and recovering (towards the bottom of the window).
  4 uncheck 'automatically restart '.

  Please post again all the details of the blue screen error message.

• Satellite A660-155 freezes and needs of startup repair or does not start

  Hello, in the middle of the month of August, I bought a satellite a660-155, PSAW0E-00U00DEN S/N 5A214647K.
  It is registered under warranty until the Aug2011.
  After less than a week, it refused to start.
  I rang support and they recommended that I use the recovery discs to restore to factory condition. I did and spent the next 3 nights reload software and my backup disk data.

  Since then he refuses sometimes to start the hard drive with a relative error that it cannot rfind and then ask which drive to boot from. If I select the hard drive, it starts later. Sometimes when running he crashes and then restarts.

  Last night, after that it had not been used for a few days, I woke up he "sleep" mode. I logged on okay, but then the blue logo 'circly' comes on, spinning away happily, and nothing else (just for logging on the text). After 30 minutes, I pressed the power button to turn off because the cell phone was totally insensitive.
  On commissioning, I got a white screen for 30 minutes, then the Startup Repair option.
  I launched it and check start lasted almost an hour and an hour, then he said, trying to repair. After a few hours, I left and went to bed. This morning, he showed the guest of logon and connected properly, as if nothing had ever happened.

  I use Windows 8 with an AMD Radeon HD 6XXX/7XXX card and felt the constant system crashes (i.e., Blue Screen of Death) using Firefox 19 before finding this thread. Return to 18.2 Firefox has worked perfectly - thank you very much for providing relief, because I thought that I had to reinstall my OS.
