Recovery disks Pavilion g series

Hi, I would be grateful if someone could help it.

I recently bought a g6 notebook Pavilion. I was doing the HP recovery using recovery disks manager, however, as I don't drive no 5 I close the lid on my laptop and left making the disc. When I came back and opened the lidit showed the drive as being 20% downloaded but all also. Manager recovery says I have made one single set of recovery discs and cannot do more. Anyone know if the disk 5 is actually over and if there is a way to check? He made the partion ok I think.

Thank you, Rick

Only way to know for sure is to use to reinstall. That may be a good idea if the disk 5 is incomplete.

You can browse the files on disc 5?

  • HP pavilion dv7-6b55dx recovery disk

    Hi all

I have a hp Pavilion dv7-6b55dx hard drive failed.  Fairly easy to install a new hard drive, but its been a bit more difficult to find any kind of information recovery disk.  The laptop has a hand, and we only had a very short time. Ever created of my own restore disks (I know, I know).  It used Windows 7 Home premium 64-bit.

I can't find anything on the HP site regarding recovery assistance, its seems that my camera is no longer supported.  I spoke with Microsoft, although the Windows product key is always on the computuer itself, they said I have to buy a new operating system on their part.  And then even after that, I guess I would have to update the other pilot material as well and may require some sort of recovery disk?  I've been on the HP site, it doesn't seem to be another option to pay to speak with someone, and at this point, I'm afraid that I would pay to hear that there nothing more they can do.

If you can't tell from my post, I'm not the most computer-savvy person.  I searched online for ideas and found no too.  Most other suggestions are a few years now and do not seem to apply more.  Any thoughts or ideas would be greatly appreciated!

    Hello;

Let me welcome you on the HP forums!

I read your post about needing recovery media and wanted to help.

What is this PC come preinstalled with Win10?

Ask, because this is the link to recovery for your PC for Win8.1 media: https://support.hp.com/us-en/mediaorder/HP-Pavilion-17-Notebook-PC-series/6936220/model/7155668/softwareitem/778405-002/step1

This link came this drivers and software, page: http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/HP-Pavilion-17-Notebook-PC-series/6936220/model/7155668

And when PC preinstalled with the operating system, HP generally provides a recovery media for this version of the OS.

If you restore media Win8.1, you can always go back to Win10 because your PC is already registered with the Activation Win10 servers.

    Good luck

  • Pavilion p6654y: ordered recovery disks have not shipped, HP incident status page says touch HP

So, I ordered a new set of recovery disks for my (out of warranty) Pavilion p6654y, I received a confirmation email and a CSO number. For about 2 weeks I got the confirmation of order, but records have not delivered. Also, I checked with my Bank and the money for the purchase has not yet released. I checked HP incident status page to see what was going on and he told me "contact HP". They don't have sent other emails not to mention that the order confirmation, so I'm stuck sort of just ask yourself what's the deal.

My problem is that I could not find any contact information for this kind of problem, does anyone know how I would go on to contact HP for a problem with an order for recovery disk?

  • HP Pavilion p6 2000-ukm: recovery disk/boot on a new HARD drive?

    Hello

I have a hp Pavilion p6 2000 ukm. Recently I started getting on my HARD drive error messages, saying it was a failure. I recently bought a new HDD in my pc. I connected it correctly and it says that I need recovery disk / boot disk.

To my knowledge when I bought this pc there was no disk Windows 7. Now I know on workstations, you create your own.

My question is... How to get windows 7 installed on my new hard drive when I plug it in? I'm looking for the iso of windows 7, I think that his name, but I can't find any .iso file.  I'm trying to install windows 7 on my new drive HARD I need not my other files like music... etc. I'm looking to get my HARD drive installed with windows 7, where it has IE and I can go back to the installation of everything I had previously. Should u use "create a system image"? Its a big file and requires 7 + dvd discs is my only option? I have my 25 key windows 7 as well.

Any help is thank you attended.

  • Pavilion G6-2213 nr: cannot start using HP system recovery disks

    Hi all

I have a laptop of Pavilion G6 2213 nr and I had problems and ran diagnostics from the system on it and he failed the hard drive of the short dst test, so I ordered HP recovery discs and a new hard drive on ebay. I have put in the new drive hard, pop in the first recovery disc in the drive, and when I try to boot from the cdrom drive, it says 'press any key to boot from the CD or DVD... ». After pressing a button, it goes on the page 'selected boot image could not authenticate. So I searched online and found in this case, I should turn on legacy mode and turn off secureboot. So I make this change in the bios and go out with gain and he enter a four digit code + enter to make the change in legacy mode. After you have entered the code, the computer restarts and wonder at new "press any key to boot from the CD or DVD...". ». I press a key, and then it takes me to a page in black/white with only a blinking cursor and never does anything else. With the new drive hard in, I ran the memory and the hard drive a broad diagnosis and pass the two tests.

Does anyone have any suggestions? What is the DVD player? Or sata controller (not that I really know what that means, I just read in a post somewhere in a case similar to what is probably the DVD drive or a SATA controller).

    Any help is appreciated!

    I'll try that. Thank you.

    You are quite welcome.

You will need to have a hard drive replacement, which is at least 160 GB of capacity!

A 120 GB hard drive (or SSD) will not work with the Recovery Manager.

The usb recovery media is the image recovery factory in about an hour and it is a sustainable product. If there is a scratch on the side of the label of a recovery disk, the entire set of recovery disks becomes unusable.

A factory image recovery with recovery disks can take two hours or longer time to complete.

  • Re: Can I use the other Satellite U400 series recovery disk

I have Toshiba Satellite U400 121. My recovery disk does not work may be due the scratches that I see in it. I took the laptop to the Toshiba Center service and I got a negative support of them. They said, they can't put the Windows Vista because the recovery disk is not there, and they have put Windows XP inside and handed to me.
later I got to know that Windows Xp is not Geninue one. :|

I can still see one of the Partition 'D:' with folder HDDRecovery inside.

So can I use Recovery Disk of all PC model Toshiba laptop other than the Toshiba Satellite U400 121 recovery disk.

In fact, I tried with the other model recovery disk, that at boot with this disk, Recovery Wizard starts up, but since I'm not sure about this one I stopped there and brought out.

Please one of you let me know if you have valuable contributions on this.

    suggestions are welcome!

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

I don't know Mr. which series Satellite U400-121, it is, but you must use the recovery disc designed specifically for this series of laptop!

Another recovery disc cannot be used because the drivers and tools that have been implemented in the image of Toshiba are not designed for this series of laptop!

By the way; You can order the CD from recovery from here:

  • Pavilion 4070 - us: new hard drive for the recovery disks do not work! Help!

Hi - the hard drive on my Pavilion 4070 - crashed us, so I bought a replacement - a Samsung SSD 850 EVO, 256GB drive.  The problem is that I can't seem to get the recovery disks to work, and neither Microsoft nor HP is willing to help me.  Of course, Microsoft tells me they don't give me any help for Windows7 OEM versions and HP said that my product is no longer supported so they do not help me.  This is ridiculous - I own a legal copy of Windows 7 and I can't get any help from the company who sold me the computer?

What happens when I go through the process of installation with the recovery discs, is that instead of the Windows installation continue as it is supposed to, I have "no boot device - insert boot disk and press any key any."  I'm desperate, I tried two different options - one was the minimum image recovery, the other was a factory restore.  Nothing seems to work. What can I do?   Moreover, the original hard drive is not * completely * dead - I can still access most of the data on it.

    Hello:

  • HP Pavilion dv6-6135dx: bad recovery disks sent

If three computers laptops hp of my family died in the same week (tbf time my parents had the virus and I have neglected my failing ram). I took them all better buy geek team because I didn't have the time to fix and my parents are under warenty.

All I wanted to do to mine was a complete system restore and wiping, already backed up all my data but my recovery partition has been altered and I don't have a recovery disk, a mistake I'll be sure to never do it again.

After that the best buy had it for a few days, that they informed me that I had to buy the hp recovery discs. I paid extra money for 2 days shipping, obtained records, took the best purchase and waited several days to be told that the discs are bad and I had to ask hp for replacements for the disks, I had no more than a week ago. So today I spent over an hour on the phone by train and failure to have a person to understand and give me a solution to what I thought was a fairly simple problem (everyone I spoke with was nice, but we had a problem with his microphone and I could hardly understand them).

Don't know what should be the next step, but I have been without my computer alone for weeks at this point and I seriously need to work.

There should be an option to create a set of recovery disks.

Please read the info on the link below for how to do this...

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c03481733

You can also use the Recovery Manager to perform a factory reset.  Make your recovery disk set first.

  • No recovery disk for W8 Uprade applied to desktop HP Pavilion XP

    Hello

I have an old HP Pavilion, I thought I would try to put on level to W8. The utility auditor of Microsoft said that the h/s has been accepted by so I bought a downloadable version of the o/s. After a few attempts W8 successfully installed (I have another post on that). Subsequently, the m/c has been intermittent BSOD. which I attribute to older drivers is not not compatible with the W8. One of the episodes of bsod after the m/c cannot start more. Unfortunately, I was not aware that a recovery disk can be created, so don't be a. I tried the my son's laptop recovery disk, without realizing that his aircraft was 64 bit and the Pavilion is 32-bit. So now I seem to be in a pretty big hole. I called Microsoft and they would send me a recovery disk CD, however, at the last moment at the time of payment, they said they were out of stock and no other discs will be available.

I'm out of ideas. I don't know that there will be a lot of ideas from those on the forum. Any help is welcome!

    Thank you.

    Other related things:

    1. I had saved XP using Acronis and had tested the recovery before you install the W8. However, the reverse is now corrupted somehow and can not be used to recover back to XP.

    2. I am at least all data files as I had saved them from the W8.

    3. I can still read the disc by using my SATA 3.5 for the disk enclosure and connect to another m/c via the USB port.

    4. the upgrade of the W8 is a download only so no disc. W8 download version can be installed on a work computer.
