Renesas USB 3.0 port...

My HP Pavilion Dm4 (laptop) has 2 Renesas USB 3.0 ports "SS".

Since I bought this HP, when I would connect (mostly) one of my external HD (WD) 3.0, I had received

a message (abve taskbar) "this device can run faster.  I was not contacted HP, but only did what I learned...

IE: Device Manager > Update Driver... etc).  Any good results.

This week I transferred several 64G PNY Flash drive (all pictures content) on my Ext HD WD HP USB 3.0 Port.

My transfer rate starts at (about) 1. 1 MB, and then slowly decreases as low as 600 + KB.

I have 22 Flash Drives (all w / photos) to transfer (copy) on my HD Ext transfer of some Flash D is 60-80 minutes.

I've been on the Renesas site today (confusion about what, if any update to install)

... & Support HP takes back me to 'manufacturers Web site... " Renesas.

Imagine that?
If anyone has knowkedge of a 'solution' to this question, I appreciate your time and your advice.
(* Two USB Ports they recognize device and peripheral WD ARE compatible 3.0).
-Thank you for your time.        -Nashville TN.

Hello

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

  1. You did it any significant hardware or change software on the computer before this problem?
  2. Do you get any error message when the transfer speed slows? If YES, what is the exact and complete error message that you receive?
  3. All device drivers are and Windows updates to date?

I understand that the USB transfer speed is slowing down as time cross. The question may arise if the currently loaded USB driver has become unstable or damaged or if your PC requires an update for problems that could conflict with a device USB and Windows. This can also occur if your USB controllers may have become unstable or corrupt. So, I would suggest trying the following steps and check if the problem persists.

Method 1:

Please try the fixit (s) provided below which will help you solve common problems associated with devices and USB ports.

If method 1 does not work, try Method 2.

Method 2:

Remove and reinstall all USB controllers.

  1. Open Manager devices by clicking the Start button, click Control Panel, click system and security, and then, under System, clicking Device Manager. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
  2. In the list of the categories of equipment, locate and expand Bus USB controllers.
  3. Right-click every device under the Bus USB controllers node and then click Uninstall to remove them one at a time.
  4. Restart the computer and let the USB controllers get reinstalled.
  5. Plug in the removable USB device and test to make sure that the problem is solved.

If the problem persists, go to method 3.

Method 3:

Disable USB selective suspend framework. This method prevents your power off USB device.

  1. Click the Start button, type power management in the search box, and then click choose a power plan.
  2. Next to your currently selected plan, click Change Plan settings.
  3. Click change advanced power settings.
  4. Click in the box USBsettings, and then expand the USB selective suspend settings.
  5. Click on the area, and then click the menu drop down and select disabled.
  6. If you use a laptop, click the cell, and then click the menu drop down and select disabled.
  7. Click apply, and then click OK.

If your problem still exists, go to method 4.

Method 4:

This method will install the latest drivers from device to your USB device.

  1. Click the Start button, type Windows Update in the search box, and then click Windows Update in the results pane.
  2. Click find updates. When the scan finished, click optional review updates.
  3. Click the check box next to the update, and then click install updates.
  4. If you are prompted, read the license agreement, then click I agree.
  5. Follow the instructions on the screen to download and install updates.
  6. If you are prompted, restart your computer.

Hope this information is useful. If the problem still persists, please post back for further assistance, we will be happy to help you.

Kind regards

    Dear Sir.

I am facing problem in installing driver for USB 3.0 in EliteBook 8470p on Windows 7 Ultimate 32 Bit Port. So please say if 32-bit is taken in charge or 64-bit supported for USB 3.0 driver.

its two USB 3.0 ports doesn't detect the USB 2.0/USB 3.0 or USB key (Flash DRIVE, portable, etc.)

    Please answer soon

    Hello:

The usb controller you model posted ID indicates that your laptop is not a p 8470, but a p 8460.

You need this driver usb 3 to this ID.

    FTP://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp54501-55000/sp54511.exe

The 8470p have the Intel USB3 controller and the 8460 p have the Renesas Electronics USB 3.0 Host Controller.

That's why I finally asked for hardware ID, because if you had a 8470 p then or the other of these Intel drivers I posted should have worked.

  • Vodacom k3772-Z not detected on Satellite L755 USB 3.0 port

    Good day to all,

I kinda a strange problem, the company that I work received point on the toshiba Satellite L755 PSK2YE and a box of vodacom K3772-Z modems for distribution to our customers.

We picked up that these modems are not detected at all when plugged in the port of USB3 laptops left side (we tried 3 modems on machine Ong 3 with the same result each time)

Modems work perfectly well when it is connected to the usb ports on right 2 and all the rest that we connected to works of 3 usb port very well including older models of modems.

I also tested the modem on another machine of 3 USB (also using the usb controller 3 renesas) and it works beautifully.

I have notcied that if you disable the usb controller 3 on the laptop and turn it back on with the stick of 3 g connected to the unit is detected correctly however if you unplug in and try again once it does detect it yet.

It's using the latest drivers and firmware.

I tried to find a solution online but had no chance.

Any ideas what could be the cause?

    > Modems work perfectly well when it is connected to the usb ports on right 2 and all the rest that we connected to works of 3 usb port very well including older models of modems.

From my point of view it would mean for computer laptop USB 3.0 port works correctly and, possibly, there is a compatibility problem between the modem and the USB 3.0 port. Maybe you should contact check the modem manufacturer support page for more information

I read on some forums that many people had problems to install this modem using Win 7 64 bit with 32-bit system was not a problem, someone used the drivers released for modem K4505.

  • U3014, disconnection of USB 3.0 ports

I am using a U3014 monitor since April. Early on that USB 3.0 ports would be erratic behavior, i.e. they would disconnect after a few seconds of all copying activity, regardless of their orientation (to distance or download). So every time I have would connect my USB key or an external hard drive, the device will get recognized quickly but any copy operation takes place as soon as the monitor disconnects. It seems not to be able to handle anything larger than 1 MB at a time and significant intervals. Thereafter, the only way to reactivate the ports is to disconnect the cable and then reconnect it. The USB hub is connected to my ultimate T3610 Win7/64 computer with the Dell-supplied cable. The monitor is also connected to a card Radeon R9 270 via the Dell mini provided DP cable. There is another USB device on the monitor, disconnect it does not bring a change in behavior. Same goes for all the different ports USB 3.0 on my computer, that is, any port PC, the monitor connects to. of course, all above 3.0 USB devices work perfectly with the ports on the computer. My monitor is Rev A03 and the S/N CN-0P1V6N-74445-388-172. Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

If you encounter any problems with your U3014 monitor USB 3.0 ports or disconnecting at random SD card player, it's because the motherboard of your computer Dell T3610 uses an old NEC / Renesas USB 3.0 controller chipset.

The hub USB 3.0 inside the monitor of U3014 is NOT compatible with the NEC/Renesas USB 3.0 controller chipset. This isn't a problem with the Dell U3014 monitor, there is a problem with the NEC/Renesas USB 3.0 chipset, known to have problems of dropping out.

To resolve this problem, you must add a USB 3.0 controller card based on the Texas Instruments TUSB7340 chipset inside your computer T3610. This chipset is VERY STABLE. No more random Logout problems with external drives or USB 3.0 flash drives.

To solve this problem with my U3014 Rev. A05, I installed in my computer the SuperSpeed USB 3.0 PEXUSB3S4 Startech card (built with the Texas Instruments TUSB7340 chipset). I plugged the USB 3.0 cable (supplied with the U3014) and my computer is now very stable.

The latest drivers from TUSB7340 for Windows 7 controller / 8,1 / 10 are available for download directly from the site of Texas Instruments.

Either randomly disconnection problems with USB 3.0 external hard drives, flash drives or the SD card reader inside the Dell U3014 monitor with the Startech PEXUSB3S4 SuperSpeed USB 3.0 card.

  • Tecra R840-10 t has no work webcam or USB 3.0 port

Even if this [another thread | http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=62061&start=15&tstart=0] has been marked as resolved, the problems remain, but are not related to the bone, hw-partners.

1 week after that I got a Tecra R840-10 t (PT429E-00M007EP) of Windows 7 have frozen at startup and the fan run at maximum speed. All I could do was to enter safe mode. After a factory reset (reinstalling OS of the hidden HD partition), not even the safe mode worked!
Took back to the store, 2 days later a local Toshiba representative referred to the store as fixed (they have updated the BIOS...)

2-3 weeks later, same problem. I called Toshiba directly, they have picked up the laptop, took almost 2 weeks and sending parts of the Germany twice before they sent it. I had to call them to find out they were going to deliver the next day. So far it seems to be fixed, Windows has not frozen since.

However, now, little more than a month after I bought this laptop from professional quality, I noticed that, on his return, the USB 3.0 port (as long as this port) and the webcam does not work. They do not appear in the Device Manager, update their drivers through page for the download of Tecra yields nothing (and you have to go through hoops to actually install the webcam driver), nothing. It's as if they did not exist. I guess that any material they brought in wasn't exactly in perfect condition, or someone forgot to plug it into some pine trees.

I tried several Linux LiveCD as well, they all recognize the material to varying degrees (being the most comprehensive Debian), but no recognize the USB 3.0 port or the webcam as well.

Not an OS problem. Call them once again, waiting for a response from a representative Monday morning. Seriously considering to move directly to a repair center and asking the complaints book. There is no guarantee that this laptop won't break again.

    Not a happy camper.

    Hello

    > I tried several Linux LiveCD as well, they all recognize the material to varying degrees (being the most comprehensive Debian), but no recognize the USB 3.0 port or the webcam as well.

Have you tested this with Toshiba configured OS?
It would be interesting if Windows 7 would get the same problems, recognizing the USB 3.0 and the webcam

  • External Toshiba HARD drive not recognized on USB 2.0 ports, but only on USB 3.0

    Hello

Now, this HARD drive is not recognized on USB 2.0 ports from my laptop (same thing on my desktop computer) but only on the USB 3.0 port.

I have try on port USB2.0 computers different (desktop, laptop) but it doesn't work. The LED is the lightning, but the drive does not appear in the file Explorer.

    You have any ideas?

    Thank you

    > Now this HARD drive is not recognized on USB 2.0 ports from my laptop (same thing on my desktop computer) but only on the USB 3.0 port

USB 3.0 port 900mA feeds. The USB 2.0 port common provides 500mA.
I think that the HARD drive needs more 500mA power in order to work properly.

So if you want to use the HARD drive on USB 2.0 ports, I recommend you to use a USB Y cable which allows to connect the HARD drive to two USB 2.0 ports

  • External USB 3.0 HARD drive does not work on USB 3.0 port

    Hello guys,.

I have a problem with my external HARD drive and the problem is that it is USB 3.0 feature does not work in my computer.

The curious thing is that it works very well in the SATA port or a normal USB 2.0 port.

Y at - it a failure with the HARD drive or is there something wrong with my motherboard (M5A99 fx pro r2.0)?

    Thanks in advance.

From my point of view of the few is not HARD drive problem because the HARD drive operates in a USB 2.0 port.

I m wondering if you tried to update the USB 3.0 driver.
Have you tried this HARD disk in another computer / USB 3.0 ports?
I think that its worth a check.

Also, I read on some problems of USB 3.0 controller from different manufacturers.
Sometimes, it might be possible that some problems of compatibility between different devices may arise.

  • Toshiba Store Art 4 USB 3.0 1 TB works not with USB3.0 or USB 2.0 port

    Hello
I have a big problem with my external hard drive and I hope someone can help me.

    Here's the thing:

I used my external drive only on computers that don't have any port usb 3 and all worked well. The drive has been used only with usb ports 2.

Now, I got a computer with a usb port 3 and I was happy to be able to use my external hard drive at full speed.
Has been fine until I wanted to transfer a file using my drive.

The disc has been recognized either of usb ports 2. The NTFS partition is a partition BRUTE! I had to ' chkdisk/f G:' to make it work again on my usb ports 2. And some files were missing!

Then, back on my other computer (usb port 3), the contents were not the same! I mean some of the files that I deleted when it is plugged into usb 2 returned when plugged usb ion 3! And then, back to the usb 2, partition became RAW and I had ' chkdisk/f G:'... once again!

So, to make it as simple as possible, after some testing, it seems that the drive can only be used on the usb ports 2-only on ports usb 3 but can not be used at a time, which is very annoying for a portable external hard drive.

I tried to format the drive to my usb port 2 and return on the usb port 3, the content came as if I had never formatted it and then back on the usb port 2, the RAW score again...

I use Windows 7 and 8.1 Windows computers.

Someone at - it experience that? What is the drive (Toshiba Store Art 1 TB USB3 4)? What is the USB 3 specification? Is - Windows 7 or 8.1 drivers?
And above all: what can I do?

    Thank you very much!

This external plug & play Toshiba HDD supports two USB standards: USB 3.0 and USB 2.0
HARD drive around needs bus power 900mA to work correctly.

The USB 3.0 port supports this standard 900mA. The USB 2.0 port allows only to 500mA.
If in case the HARD disk is not working properly connected to the USB 2.0 port, I recommend you to use a USB cable to Y in order to connect the 2 ports USB 2.0 HARD disk.

I have no idea why the content on the HARD drive is different, but from my point of few of the USB standard does not affect content.

In my opinion, the HARD drive wasn't working properly using a USB 2.0 due to the low power.

By the way: this HARD drive supports some additional features like the ability to oversight function and monitor to alert of the disk space that sends a alert when there is not enough available storage space.

For advanced users, Toshiba has added the ability to customize the backup routine, including the ability to select only the most common file types for backup and change how many times a backup takes place.

So I wonder why the usb 3 seems to work and how to operate?

Thanks for any help you can give.

    Hello

You won't lose me. I'm probably in a different time zone you are.  I live in Europe.

If you still have the unknown device follow these steps:

Open Windows Explorer and locate the SWSetup folder.

Expand the folder, find the sp56724 folder and double-click it to open it.

This is where the driver for the device unknown (USB 3.0 host controller should be).

    Call the Device Manager.

Right click on the unknown device and select Update driver software.

In the next window, select browser my computer for driver software.

Now, you can choose to let the operating system locate the software or the path to the sp56724 folder yourself. In both cases, ensure that a signed driver is selected.

  • Hi speed USB via a Port Replicator advanced for a Tecra 9100?

I have the same problem with a Tecra 9100 and upgrade to hi speed USB as a previous post where the proposed solution was to use a PCMCIA card.

    (see link: http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=24103)

I had an idea, but I don't know if it will work and need some advice?

Can you buy an Advanced Port Replicator that has Hi Speed USB 2.0 ports on it (like the PA3082U APR II that works with the Tecra 9100) instead of the PCMCIA card.

If the docks of Port Replicator in the motherboard will it give you Hi Speed USB 2.0, or is the Tecra 9100 forced to USB 1.1 via hardware in the laptop itself and the Replicator will not help?

Also if I go down the road of Port Replicator I need drivers for speed ports Hi of the Replicator to work on the Tecra 9100?

Or to ask the question – what is the PCMIA USB 2.0 card in that advanced with HI Port Replicator speeed USB is not?

    Thanks in advance

    Hello

the Tecra 9100 has NO usb 2.0 and it's a fact. Given that the Replicator has these USB ports 2.0 does not mean that your machine when it is docked to the Portrep, is able to manage USB 2.0 devices. The portrep, it's like a usb hub and behaves like. So if your machine doesn´t have it then that's it.

And the explanation on the PCMCIA/Cardbus solution:
The pcmcia card USB 2.0 Chipset, this is the reason why it IS a USB 2.0 device (roothub).

I hope this was clear to you :)

Just buy this card and you will have USB 2.0
