Router, set up

I installed a new router an Actiontec GT78WN recommended by my provider, when I type in 192.168.0.1

I get nothing how do fix my router configured?   Still using my old router

Thanks Bill

Ensure that the connection between the computer and the router is installed and that the witnesses who must be on are actually on.

Press the reset button on the router, let it restart and then try it again with

  • Question of RV220W VLAN / routing (setting up network comments)

I added two wireless networks in my RV220W. One is intended for customers and must not allow them to go outside on the WAN. But I'm wrong how to set up.

I created a second LAN VIRTUAL (192.168.3.xxx) and awarded "comments network." But how do I set up my RV220W such that these guests can go to the WAN? And how to mix it with the fact that NAT between the external WAN and the internal network is in the 192.168.2.xxx range? Can I do anything?

Please try disabling routing inter - VLAN of the guest VLAN.

The two VLAN will share the same WAN connection for internet access, i.e. two subnets are translated.

  • RVS4000 > ROUTER set to use custom dns?

    Here's my situation:

my ISP assigns me a dynamic ip address. That's pretty standard. with my IP, I get my DNS settings as well. This is quite normal. I totally understand this.

However, I want to use CUSTOM DNS. in windows, I can do this very easily. in the "Network connections" window, I select my network card properties. If I change the properties of the TCP/IP Protocol, I get the dialog box that is present in the "windows.png" file attached to this post. Here, I'm able to make my computer receives the dynamic IP address, but I then overwrite the DNS and use my own.

    simple.

I want to do this on my RVS4000 router. I want to set up custom dns as shown in the subject.

before you start screaming about 'server settings (DHCP)' section in the 'lan' tab in the 'setup', this is NOT correct. Why, you say? because when you configure it that way, the DNS information to DHCP clients. This does NOT change the dns from the ROUTER. I want to know how to change the dns from the ROUTER.

still, the scenario of windows that I described above, I should be able to tell the ROUTER to use a custom DNS. BUT WAIT! before you shout "use the Internet Connection Type" "wan" in the "setup", take into account the fact that I have a commercial ISP and I have AI TO USE DHCP to obtain an IP address and connect to the internet. and believe me, I already tried workarounds... I put my DHCP router, got an address, then without rebooting the modem from the ISP, I changed my "internet connection type" to "static ip", using the information that I had when I was in dynamic mode. IT DOES NOT WORK. PERIOD. THE INTERNET DOES NOT WORK, DESPITE THE THOUGHT, IT IS MUST. I'm sure that the ISP is forcing something down my throat. Moreover, even if this DID work, it would be counterintuitive. Why? because if my ip was reassigned, I would lose the network connection. by design, I should use DHCP, and I shouldn't try to get around.

so now that I've explained clearly the question and all of the obstacles, how can I configure DNS custom my router while in DHCP mode (just like windows has RIGHT WATCH IS EASILY POSSIBLE SINCE PROBABLY 1995)?

Another question, you can ask yourself - why not just let my clients get the custom DNS and be happy? because I have that I still want to have access to some of the names of internal network. If customers have custom dns turned directly to them, they will never be able to resolve internal names. If I can just tell my router stupid to use custom DNS, clients always use the router as their DNS, and when the router receives requests, it can then determine whether the DNS query is internal and send it to the network card, or if she needs to go outside.

I would REALLY appreciate to answer CISCO on this

  • Will HP WI - FI no pickup when the router is set to 5.0 Ghz

HP Office Jet Pro 8600 will not collect wi - fi when having Modem/Router set to 5.0 Ghz, works only on 2.4 Ghz.

Y at - it an update of the HP driver that will fix this problem?

    N °

HP printers don't support 5 GHz wireless frequency but only 2.4 GHz.

You can set your router to broadcust one two frequencies (Dual Band), then connect the printer to the range 2.4 GHz SSID.

All HP printers that support 802.11n use 2.4GHz only.

  • Printer Hp6700: unable to connect to the router wireless D - Link DI-514 when SSID Broadcast is set to no.

HP6700 printer: unable to connect to the router wireless D - Link DI-514 when the router Broadcast SSID is set to no. My MAC laptop and HP laptop both work with the set SSID on no. If I change the router Wireless SSID Broadcast is YES, then the printer HP6700 can connect to the wireless router. I set up the printer it saying that the SSID and password have been, the same as both of my laptops, but it connects ever, unless I have change the router to broadcast the SSID. Help!

Have you tried to update the firmware on the DI-514?

You can also try to set a static IP address on the printer, and then assign the printer to the list of DHCP static in the interface of the router.
To give a static IP address to your printer:
-Print a the front of the printer Network Setup Page. Note the IP address of the printer.
-Enter the IP address in a browser to reveal the internal settings of the printer.
-Choose the network tab, then wireless along the left side, then on the IPv4 tab.
-On this screen, you want to set a manual IP address. You must assign an IP address outside the range that the router sets automatically (called the DHCP range). If you do not know the range, change the last set of numbers (those after the last '.') 250
-Apply the subnet 255.255.255.0 (unless you know it's different, if so, use it)
-Enter the IP of your router (on the Page of the Network Config) for the gateway.
-Enter for the first DNS 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 for second DNS. It's Google DNS. You can choose a different external DNS if you wish.
    -Click 'apply '.
Now, stop the router and printer, start the router, wait, and then start printing.

After that you remove and re - add the printer to your Mac.

What is the brand and model of the Wireless Router/Access Point?

Given that the issue has not persisted in Windows 7, there is a chance that the wireless router/Access Point is not compatible with Windows 8.

  • "No. Connection problem" C310 trying to download apps. Thompson TG585 router, prints OK wireless.

My HP C310 All in One Printer has worked until I have change my router to a Thompson TG585. I can always print wireless, network report is OK, but if I try to use one of the applications that require internet, I get the message "No. Connection." I checked for the update (which I assume also requires internet) but who says that everything is OK. I stop my router, printer and restarted but no luck.

Check on the front of the printer to make sure that the Web service is enabled.

If this is the case, you can set an IP address of the printer:

-Print a the front of the printer Network Setup Page. Note the IP address of the printer.
-Enter the IP address in a browser to reveal the internal settings of the printer.
-Choose the network tab, then wireless along the left side, then on the IPv4 tab.
-On this screen, you want to set a manual IP address. You must assign an IP address outside the range that the router sets automatically (called the DHCP range). If you don't know what it is, enter a very high number for the last segment (comme.200.
-Apply the subnet 255.255.255.0 (unless you know it's different, if so, use it)
-Enter the IP of your router (on the Page of the Network Config) for the bridge and the first DNS. Let the second white.
    -Click 'apply '.

Now, stop the router and printer, start the router, wait, and then start printing.

After that, you will have to redo 'Add printer' using the new IP address.

  • Printer HP Photosmart more B210 loses the wireless connection. with MAC 10.6 and Linksys router.

From time to time my printer HP PSt + B210 indicates not 'online' in the window of the printer utility and do not print.

I have spend hours to review what I did in th past and become confused.

Should I start with the HP utility and make sure that my printer is listed only once in the queue (as is sometimes show 2 forms - for the same printer) OR should I stop MAC PB > router > Modem and then restart in correct, reverse order?

Given that I need to choose "IP automatically...". ", I used Safari and put the 192.168.1.1 in the address bar and follow these steps, as already suggested.  What would be the clear measures to reconnect my HP printer status online? Thank you very much!!

We will set an IP address of the printer:

-Print a the front of the printer Network Setup Page. Note the IP address of the printer.
-Enter the IP address in a browser to reveal the internal settings of the printer.
-Choose the network tab, then wireless along the left side, then on the IPv4 tab.
-On this screen, you want to set a manual IP address. You must assign an IP address outside the range that the router sets automatically (called the DHCP range). You can find the beach DHCP from the router using its internal settings page or in its manual. Use the CD that came with your router or type the IP address of the router (ends para.1) in a browser.

  • HP c410: hp c410 printer and router netgear wnr 2500 wifi

For the past 8 years, I have been using a linksys router.  Every night, I stop everything, including the router and internet modem.   The next morning I would re - start everything and the printer will automatically reconnect through the router.  Finally, I replaced the dinosaur of a router with a wifi wnr netgeat router 2500.  Now, when I stopped the router, I recreate the connection.  I used the manual method and the WPS method, and none took place.  I've also had occasional problems with the connection is lost or is hard to do.  I would like suggestions.

    Hey @iwilder,

I understand that since hang your new router Netgear your HP Photosmart Premium Fax e-All-in-One-C410a printer fails to reconnect automatically to your network every morning that you unplug all devices power every night. However, your printer has been able to automatically reconnect to your original Linksys router every day.  Because your printer works well, once the wifi installation is run, we know that the wireless in your printer card works properly. I think that this problem is due to a conflict with the new Netgear router setting. I will get you a few steps below to solve this problem for you.

    Step 1: connectivity:

When you connect all your devices in the morning, make sure that you plug your router first. Once the router is on and functioning, your printer in. If the printer is connected prematurely, your custom network connection is active on the router and printer do not automatically reconnect to your network. Therefore, it is perhaps just a case do not give enough time for your router to power on before connecting your HP Photosmart camera.

Step 2: Check the router settings:

Some settings in your router can cause your printer does not reconnect automatically. This does not mean that everything is 'wrong' with your router. It may be just that your router does its job too well and does not your printer to automatically reconnect to the network as the printer is considered a "threat". To resolve this problem, please can I make sure that the following ports are open on your router and that the following parameters are adjusted. If you do not know how to change these settings on your own, you will need to have Netgear support will guide you through this.

    • Incoming (UDP) Ports to open:

    137, 138, 161, 427

    • Outgoing (TCP) Ports to open:

    137, 139, 427, 9100, 9220, 9500

    • Please also visit:
    -Mac filtering should be OFF
  • Connect a HP OfficeJet Pro 8500 to router Netgear N600 loss of internet connection.

Whenever the OfficeJet printer is connected to one of the ethernet to a Netgear N600 router ports, the internet connection is lost. Internet works without any complications, if the printer is not connected to the network. As soon as the ethernet cable from the printer is connected to the router (or a network switch) the internet connection is lost. If I look at the devices using the Netgear browser interface, everything seems appropriate. The printer uses DHCP and you will receive various IP addresses according to what remains is connected (e.g. 192.168.1.3). I've narrowed the problem to the printer, causing the loss of connectivity internet thie. Attach only my computer to the router (may be an iMac or a Windows XP system), internet works fine, plug the printer results in a loss of interest. Printer works fine and the documents can be printed after you connect to one of the ethernet ports.

I tried to set a static IP address on the printer (e.g. 192.168.1.100) so that the attribution of a static address with the interface of Netgear using the MAC address of the printer - no approach fixes the problem. Netgear support is perplexed (they have even sent a replacement router, thinking it was defectiive, the two routers show the same problem). I have reset the printer to its default settings in order to eliminate potential conflicts with modified parameters. I also tried to change the speed of the link to something else than "Automatic", nothing seems to work.

We will define an external static IP and DNS address for the printer.  I think that the external DNS will do the trick.

  • remote access to the computer that is connected to a router wireless

    Hello Forum members

I have a 4-port/router set-up wireless (compatible VPN) in the office.

1 VOIP adapter is connected to a router (wired connection).

1 PC (Windows XP Pro SP3) is connected to a router (Wi - Fi).

When I'm on the field, I need to access these devices via VPN. I can access 3 PC (connecting to the wired router) via VPN.

However, I can not connect to a PC (wireless connection to the router) via VPN.

Could you please tell me how I can access this PC (wireless connection to the router) via VPN?

This PC (Windows XP Pro SP3) seems to need further adjustments under Windows Service.

  • LRT214 InterVLAN routing databases

Could someone understand me, what "InterVLAN Routing" setting (under management port > 802 1 q LAN) actually did or influence?

It's a bit tedious to find trying and the manual, which is essentially a textual serialization of interfaces Web (kind of pointless), doeosn can't help much.

It is just a shortcut for firewall access rules, or influence it something else? I can get between the VLANS with access for people with disabilities, and appropriate rule set. However, I have however a strange behavior.

    Anyone know?

Firewall access rules can override the settings of the inter-VALN. Without the two access rules, hosts VLAN1 will not be able to access hosts in VLAN8 and vice versa.

I recently bought a router Linksys AC3200 and E55 - C1 Vizio TV. The remote for my tv button and the power of Vizio Vizio TV have been sporadic in their functionality. I did all the troublehsooting Vizio recommended on their site and finally called for more tips. They recommended to me to stop my router and see if the power button and the remote control is working properly. I did and everything works normally. I was told that file sharing and network share on my router will cause this problem and for contact me Linksys to resolve. Does anyone know exactly what the router setting is the cause? Is not dictated by your operating system and not your router file sharing?

You have the attached USB drive? The router can share its USB key when it is connected.

Wired or wireless TV is connected to the router?

Routers is close to the TV? I recommnd place the router away if possible.
